Our very own Danny Wilson wins rookie of the year and leads his team into the playoffs. Justin Provost and Rob Nielsen make the All-Rookie team despite barely playing.

Danny Wilson and Justin Provost both appeared int he playoffs this year.

Atlanta Hawks (Danny Wilson) vs. Milwaukee Bucks

Game 1: Danny had a very nice debut with a 19 pt. 10 rebound performance. Unfortunately, the Hawks fell apart int he 2nd quarter, getting outscored 44-21. They never recovered and went on to suffer an embarassing 36 pt. defeat.

Game 2: Danny Wilson did not play very well in Game 2, only managing 6 pts. and 7 rebounds. Without their star Center, the HAwks could not get going, and found themselves down 21 pts. entering the 4th quarter. A valiant comeback attempt fell short and they fall down 2-0 int he best of 5 (old school style) series.

Game 3: The Hawks won't go down that easy. Three Atlanta players score over 20 pts. including a 21 pt., 9 rebound performance from Wilson and th eHawks stave off defeat with a 112-100 win.

Game 4: The Hawks come out blazing in this one with a 48-24 1st quarter lead. The Bucks tried to chip away but could get no closer than 11. 5 Hawks players scored in double digits here. Wilson was not one of them as he only had 9 points, but he did grab 11 rebounds in the victory.

Game 5: The Hawks fought hard in this one. 6 players scored in double digits, including 17 pts. from Danny Wilson. Unfortunately, they had no answer for Bucks PG Justin Haskins, whose 45 pt. effort broke the game open in the 3rd quarter and led his team to a 130-104 victory.

Los Angeles Clippers (Justin Provost) vs. Sacramento Kings

Game 1: Provost actually saw 16 minutes in this game and managed 3 assists. The Clippers built up a huge lead early and staved off a late comeback for a 93-88 victory.

Game 2: Provost scores 3 pts. and manages 1 assist, 1 steal, and 1 rebound. However, the Clippers fall down early and cannot come back as they fall 96-88 in game 2.

Game 3: The Clippers fall down 12 pts. in the 1st squarter, but scratch back to within 4. Unfortunately they cannot get any closer and lose a tough one 94-90. Provost gets 2 pts., 1 steal, and 1 rebound.

Game 4: The Clippers choke this one away. A terrific 2nd quarter gave them a 14 pt. halftime lead. The Kings completely erase that with a 38-14 3rd quarter dominance. The Clippers had nothing left for a comeback and were eliminated 91-81. Provost only saw 7 minuyes of this one and managed 1 steal and 1 assist.

2010 Season Outlook

C Danny Wilson, Atlanta Hawks: The only successful Fab Fiver so far looks to have an even stronger season as Atlanta will build it's entire offense around Wilson.

SF Rob Nielsen, Utah Jazz: Sadly, Rob isn't even on the depth chart so he won't see hardly any time this season.

PF Tim Moungey, Memphis Grizzlies: Moungey is currently suffering from the flu. When he returns he will have the best seat available for all Grizzlies games this season.

SG Vincent Brightm Boston Celtics: Good news for bright is he will be the #2 SG for the Celtics this season. Bad news is that the #1 SG averaged 38 minutes and 29.9 pts per game last season.

PG Justin Provost, Los Angeles Clippers: Provost currently suffers from a sprained knee, but when he returns will probably battle with 1st round pick Terrance Sharman for the #2 PG slot.

The Fab Five is certainly not doing as well as I had hoped in the NBA. (I had run some test sims prior to this and the Fab Five did MUCH better.)

At the All-Star Break:

Vincent Bright: Bright has finally gotten some good playing time in backup duty, averaging 7.5 PPG in 23.4 MPG.

Tim Moungey: Hasn't played a single minute all year.

Justin Provost: Provost won the #2 PG spot and has averaged 8.8 MPG and 2.0 Assists.

Rob Nielsen: Rob played for 3 minutes in one game, but apparently that was too much for him as he is now on the injured list with a severe migraine.

Danny Wilson: The Hawks star player has averaged 17.5 PPG with 12.3 RPG.

All-Star Weekend: Everyone but Provost was invited to play in the Sophomore vs. Rookies game. Despite 12 pts. from Bright and another 12 (with 7 boards) from Nielsen, the Sophomores lost 102-91 due to weak performances from Wilson and Moungey. Wilson also had a bad performance in the All-Star Game, as the West beat the East 122-96.

Sadly, onle one Fab Five team will participate in this year's playoffs. Even sadder is that the Fab Fiver in question (Rob Nielsen) is still injured. The Hawks particularly had a very disappointing season...

It is frustrating to watch the Fab Fivers struggle so much. I think if they can just get some more playing time, I think things would be fine.
