I'll be sending out roles tomorrow to give you folks a day plus to ask questions before we begin.

In the meantime, if anyone else wants in, this is your chance.

Roles will be chosen after I finish eating. If anyone else wants in, this is you last opportunity, once I select roles, that's it.

Greyroofoo - you interested in playing?

I sat down to randomly assign roles and saw you there, so I was wondering.

Apparently not, because you left

Public roles are up! Expect pms momentarily with public and private roles. I randomized each.

Okay. I put myself in the game and assigned myself a random role if you had wanted to still get in.

Ok, I'm still confused about this: does our public role have any known public effect? And there are private roles on top of public roles? So there are the public ranks and then private roles on top of that. All that's correct, yes?

Yes. You have a rank, some ranks have roles. Then you have super secret abilities, items, roles which is how you got so far in such a corrupt institution as the Orzhov Guild

Ok but the fact that I'm one rank, and st.cronin is a couple ranks above me doesn't mean that he can boss me around or anything?

Actually you're below me. So I would suggest you consider administrating if you'd like to advance in this world.

The Censor is below Prelate. The only way the Censor would become Magister is if every single person on the council died in some sort of cataclysm.

I see what a folly this already has turned into. It's not WHO I am administering, it is what. Do you think that this Council runs on its own? No sir, it is thank to my tireless work that this Council functions at all. And don't you forget it. Now if you'd like to help with the administering I am sure we can find a position suitable for someone with your "talents".

The part that has been the hardest for me up to this point is the terminology - I'm not familiar with this genre, so it is requiring some re-reading to figure out faction names as he explains the rules.

I'm sure it will become easier as we get into the game a little further.

I made up the ranks based largely on Roman Offices.
