Oh yeah, we'll be running the TV with this for the next 24 hours. Well, maybe we'll take a break for some football.

for some reason...this movie just (literally) makes me want to throw up in my mouth. It's just so...poorly done. The acting and all. It's painful. One of the few movies where I actually have to...leave the room when it comes on.

You think it's bad for you? Imagine actually once looking like the main character when I was a kid (and this came out about the same time I was that age, too). I even had the big goofie glasses.

My family still reminds me of this wehenever this movie is on.

As for the movie itself, outside of poignant childhood stigma related to my lookalike, I generally enjoyed the movie. It hasn't stood up to 100 watchings over the years, though, and I usually change the channel when I see it on.

I love other christmas movies. But something about the acting (ralphie especially) and really the overly "cheesy" plot just...drives me insane. Plus the fact that it's seemingly on...every channel all of the time right now).

Yeah, unfortunately, I think he turned out better than I did.

To me this movie captures better what it is to be a child than any other movie I know. Any adult who works with children should be made to watch this movie once a year so they can remind themselves of all the good, and bad, that being a child entails.

btw, as I was driving through Old Town Alexandria last week, I saw the leg lamp shining brightly in someone's 3rd story bedroom window. I nearly wept.

Not that it'll make ya feel any better, but I'm with you on this. I love lots of things about Christmas (I'm always up for a Grinch/Charlie Brown two-fer on whatever channel it's on) but I just can't deal with this movie.
