Week 1 - August 28th

Not a whole lot of major interest in week 1. The #1 USC Trojans take on the unranked Virginia Tech Hokies and Miami (OH) takes on a Div 1AA team.

#1 USC - 42
VA Tech - 20

Reggie Bush rolls up 239 return yards and 2 TDs on punt returns of 82 and 59 yards and adding 86 yards rushing including a 29 yard TD. The game was not as close as the score would indicate.

Only one Top 25 team in action today as #20 Utah takes on Texas A&M.

Texas A&M - 21

This one is all Brian Johnson who is 20-29 229 yds and 2 TDs (5 Ints) while running for 138 yds and 2 more TDs. The Aggies are unable to muster much of a ground game and only turn one of the picks of Johnson into a touchdown.

Other Games of Note:

Northwestern - 51
TCU - 28

Brett Basanez throws for 338 yds and 3 TDs while Noah Heron add 133 yds rushing and 3 TDs.

Arizona St - 45
UTEP - 21

Andrew Walter stars going 17-25 with 286 yds and 4 TDs. All 4 TDs are thrown to TE Zach Miller.

Tenn-Martin (1AA) spanks Western Michigan 28-7 adn BC beats Ball State 31-13.

Okay since there are a whole bunch of teams to follow for now i will keep up with the preseason Top 25, Illinois, Notre Dame, Illinois and Nothern Illinois until about Week 6 when the current rankings will actually mean something. I should have some more updates tonight as one of the preseason Top 25 lost.
