The Reign of Ishaq II - A Shadow of His Father

Jan 2 - Mamluks rebels bleed over into Constantine.

Feb 1 - Stability Increases back to max. Constantine, Kabylia and Aures are now cores

Feb 21 0 We win in Constantine. Colonists are dispatched to Taodeni after we kill off all of the savages.

Mar 13 - Taodeni is now a full colony.

I send colonists to Delagoa Bay, south of Inhambane

May 2 - I didn’t even notice the Ottomans are massively at war against Najd. I wonder why?

I send a gift to the Ottomans.

June 11 - The Mamluks keep losing provinces to war or rebellion. My guess, in less than 20 years, The Mamluks will be no more. Perhaps less.

Aug 1 - I send a gift to Algiers.

Aug 23 - Agricultural Revolution in Dendi.

Sept 17 - Colony failed in Delagoa Bay. I didn’t realize that my % to take was just 29, because of my ruler’s low ADM score.

Instead, I send colonists to Nupe and Bauchi. Both are insland provinces inside the Songhai borders where all of the natives have been killed. They are very low valu,e but again, I can colonize them, and then just let them grow into full provinces,

Oct 20 - Nupe is a new colony.

Oct 28 - Bauchi is also a new colony.

Nov 2 - I canceled the Castillean mission and gained one to fortify Little Karoo, which I begin

Dec 1 - Tripoli has formed, and Algiers has taken two of the Mamluks provinces, so they have lost four. The Mamluks have lost all of their Arabian holdings.

Dec 4 - Giftr to the Ottomans.

Dec 29 - Grain in Ogaden

Dec 30 Royal Marriage with Tripoli

Jan 14, 1556 - Rebolt in Alexandria

Jan 27 - We win.

Mar 15 - Colonial Compnay adds 200 to Worodugu. Again.

Apr 7 - We get a nasty event:

Temporary Insanity of Monarch:

Request Military Guidance - Lose 2 prestige, lose 50 ducats, gain 5 army and navy tradition, lose 1 stability

Request Administrative Guidance - Lose 2 prestige, 20 ducats, 1 stability and a badboy.

I choose Military Guidance. Our stability drops.

That was not a happy event.

The War of Tunisian Succession

Oct 2 - We have entered the War of Tunisian Succession. We are willed Tunisia. However, Adal believes that it should have been them, so we are now at war with Adal. Okay!

It’s a like a free war I can do anything with!

I jack up my military maintenance and order my troops into various Adal provinces.

Here’s what I want:

Awsa - Salt!

Harer - connects Awsa and Gonder and Goj

Oct 28 - We capture fortless Shoa

Nov 1 - Nupe will be ivory

Nov 27 - We capture their captial, Kefa, also fortless

Jan 18, 1560 - Battle is enjoined in Tigre

Jan 24 - Grain in Worodugu

Feb 11 - We are victorious in Tigre

Mar 4 - We win in Gonder

Apr 29 - Haud falls to us.

June 24 - We capture Awsa

July 20 - Bauchi is a slave province

Aug 1 - We capture Tajura

Aug 16 - We capture Berbera

Sept 3 - Harer fell. I’m assaulting a lot o these provinces.

Sept 25 - We capture Tigre.

Oct 17 - We capture Taka. One more to go.

Oct 27 - We capture Zeila

Adal has over 2000 ducats for me to try and swing! Wow.

I can literally take every non-capital province they have, and get 400 ducats too, but I cannot force vassalize them.

Here is what I am taking: Awsa, Tajura, Tigre, Harer, Zeila, 150 ducats, and Union with Tunisia, which takes 40% of our warscore right there.

Accepted.

New Provinces:

Harer - North of Ifat, south east of Awsa, south of Tajur aand south west of Zeila lies the farmers of Harer. 10398 Sunni Somali people make us 7.32 ducats annually. This place comes with a temple.

Zeila - This coastal province is south east of Tajura. 10052 Sunni slave traders of Somali culture ply their trade making us 7.85 ducats annually.

Tajura - The other coastal province we took is the wool province of Tajura. 4497 Sunni Somalis make us 5.11 duicats annually. There is a straight connecting this with Mocha. There is a temple here.

Tigre - Northeast of Gonder and north of Awsa, wes of Tajura is the province of Tigre. 2910 farmers os Sunni and Ethiopian descent make us 7.10 ducats annually.

Awsa - Outside of their capital, which is a gold mine, this was their most valuable province. 5169 Somali Sunnis trade salt her for 15.74 ducats annually. This province has a temple. It is adjacent to Gonder, Tigre, Tajura, Harer and Ifat.

Now isolated are the single province of Taka, Haud and Berbera to the east, and Shoa and Kefa to the south.

We are now in a Personal Union with Tunisia, which frankly, I;ve never been in before, but we are the leader. I go to look this up in the Eu3 wiki.

It looks like we are automatically allied, and I am monarch of both Songhai and Tunisia in diplomacy. We get half of Tunisia’s monthly income (much like a vassal). It lasts as long as we have positive relations when my monarch dies, but has a chance of turing into an actual inheritance.

Sept 21 - Rebels of a patriot nature in Asyut

To cover my tracks, I then put 18000 rebel troops in Al-Djazair, and hope that they will focus on ousting those 18k troops long enough that I can get Tuat or Rio de Oro

Mar 19 - Morocco is prepared. They arrive with an army 20k in size.

May 6 - I send a gift to Morocco. I want my friend back. They reminded me how much I like them

June 13 - I do it again

Aug 3 - And once more.

Sept 2 - Time to colonize my next province.

Since this ruler has a better ADM, I can go after harder provinces, like The Bay. There are no good tax value provinces left, however.

Where I am going to Damaraland. This province is south of Benguela, and I want to connect down to my South African provinces. This requires me to strat and finish three colonies, and the first will be in Damaraland.

There are just 500 natives in Lesser Namaqualand, so I intend to sail some cavalry done there and kill them, Then I can set up shop and let it grow into a province.

Nov 1 - St. Helena is now self sufficient:

St. Helena - 1000 people selling naval supplies make us 4.01 ducats annually. I order a fort on this island which is far from Africa.

I take Engineer Corps

Feb 21 - There are Timurid Empire ships in the Gulf of Kongo. Not sure how that happened.

Apr 2 - Gift to The mamluks

May 10 - The Mamluks accept annexation. Let’s take a look at the final five provinces from them:

Taka - 1150 slave traders make us 10.12. The Sunni al Misr Arabic people lives inland of Massawa and are adjacent to Berber, tigre and Gonder. I order a level one fort here.

Berber - Not to be confused with the Adal province of Berbera. 1979 Sunni al Misr Arabic slave traders worship in the giant temple here. 10.19 ducats are made here. This province is adjacent to Suakin, Ibrim, Massawa and Taka.

Nubia - 7.5 ducats are harvested by the 32912 al Misr Arabic Sunnis. This province is adjacent to Ibrim and Kargah. There is a temple here.

Nile - 7348 farmers grow 5.25 ducats annually. This province is adjacent to Cairo, Asyut, Kargah, Ibrim and Suakin. This port is full of Sunnis of al Misr Arabic descent and culture.

Cairo - And the crown jewel. This port features 621966 al Misr Arabic Sunnis who make us 23.08 ducats in the grain trade. North of Nile, this now connects Sinai to the rest of our provinces, inclusing Delta, Alexandria and Asyut. Also borders the Ottomans. I order a level two fort to supplement the temple already here.

I shift my garrions around so that they are now on the new provinces instead of the old.

June 22 - Regional Nobles Challenge Songhai:

The 200 Year Review

Our inflation has dropped to 5.2%, which is not bad, but I want to drive it down further.

Our Ruler is Muhammad II, all 7s is his skills

We make more money annually than any other country. France is a distant #2. Venice is a distance #3 from France. Sweden and Britain round out the top 5.

Our techs have begun to catch up. Our land tech, for example, is 22 and the leader is 23.

We field the third largest ground army and the fourth largest army overall. France, Castille and Ming have larger armies. The Ottomans are right behind us.

Because of our ship building for that war, we now have the 6th largest fleet in the world. Only Britain has more big ships than us at 60, we have 24.

We have 124 provinces, and no, I am not going to list them all for you. Yuck. France is second at 93, and Ming lose some recently and dropped to the high 80s.

Who makes us the most tax?

Timbuktu #
Alexandria #
Bure
Gao
Cape *
Kongo
Cairo
Dendi %
Benguela *
Segu
Bambuk
Constantine %
Borno
Jenne
Benin
Bourbon *
Futa Jallon
Gonder %
Delta
Luanda *

* - former colony
# - Center of Trade
% - I remember this province benefiting from Agricultural Revolution. Dendi and Constantine specifically got this event twice.

There is a big drop off from the top two.

Who are my top 20 production kings:

I have ten gold provinces. They will obviously be all top ten, so I eliminate them. What are my top 20 non-gold provinces for production:

Timbuktu (Salt) *
Gobir (Salt)
Aures (Iron) *
Damagaram (Salt)
Tadimekket (Salt)
Awsa (Salt)
Kanem (Wool) *
Taodeni (Salt)#
Azawadd (Salt)#
Sinai (Salt)
Gao (Grain) *
Futa Kallon (Ivory) *
Suakin (Slaves)
Cayor (Slaves)
Sierra Leone (Slaves) #
Wolof (Slaves)
Ndongo (Slaves)
Zanzibar (Slaves)
Massawa (Slaves)
Gabon (Slaves) #
* - There is a manufactory in this province driving up the production value significantly.
# - A former colony

This is the problem with an African nation. Not a diverse economy at all.

Who gives me more than 1000 manpower?

Alexandria (3020)
Timbuktu (1775)
Wasuju (1472)
Kano (1214)
Kongo (1154)
Cairo (1015)

And that’s it. All but one of these are grain provinces. The next highest is at 698, so there is a big dropoff after 1000.

200 Year Review Continued

I decide to enact a Provincial Court System in Alexandria, which will reduce revolts there for the rest of the game.

I order Gonder to Promote Land Enclosure

Mali is our top culture but al Misr Arabic has moved into #2.

Alexandria is the most valuable COT in the world right now. Timbuktu is #6.

We are currently trying to establish a monopoly in Acadia and have 3 there right now with two merchants on the way.

The current value of trade goods from most to least:

Salt
Fur
Copper
Cloth
Slaves
Wine
Iron
Chinaware
Coffee
Tobacco
Fish
Sugar
Spices
Cotton
Tea
Ivory
Grain
Naval Supplies
Wool
Gold (obviously)

Slaves have really jumped. Grain has fallen.

There is a lot of fun stuff there. From economics to military to more, things are popping. I think you could call us the most powerful nation in the world, overall, although not the most powerful in every area, obviously. In tech, for example, we are back. In things like military and navy and economy and infrastructure, we are doing pretty well.

EDIT - Hmmm, I thought this last section was bigger, or else I would not have split them into two posts. I wrote it, and then figured it might read too clunky, but that was not the case. Ah well.

The Reign of Muhammad II - Plans Begin

July 15 - GN Expands

Oct 3 - We have a slave uprising in Bourbon, which was put down, but the revolt risk there is increased by 1.

Dec 7 - I order a courthouse in Kongo

Jan 1, 1603 - I offer Adal an alliance for the third time. Once again, they accept

Mar 1 - We have a monopoly in Acadia

We send merchants to a COT named Mixtec where just Venice has merchants, and they have a monopoly. I want to break that.

Adal rejects our vassalization offer.

Mar 5 - Adal breaks their alliance with us

That was your third chance

May 7 - GN expands

June 23 - We complete our task to build a fort and the next is to build a Fine Arts Academy in Bure. Not happening. FAAs suck, they are only useful for helping your stability, which I already have.

July 13 - Morocco broke their alliance with us. Well then. After I went to the battle for them. Ah well.

I send a gift to Algiers.

Aug 21 - I send another

Oct 2 - Monopoly in Mixtec

Nov 22 - At some point in time, The Timurids put a colony in North Madagascar.

Jan 5, 1604 0 I can hope that Boina, the Timurid’s province, is killed by natives. It is not growing except through sending people, because of native aggressiveness, tropical (which we don‘t suffer from) and such.

Look, I don’t give two shakes what you do in your own continents. But stay off mine!

Jan 28 - I send the Timurids an insult.

Feb 23 - We gain a level 1 fort in Roggeveld through an event

The Timurids also have Socotra.

Is it worth going to war for just these two provinces? I think so.

Apr 16 - GN is now a full province

Greater Namaquala - 5024 slave traders make 10.55 ducats here. I order a marketplace built here.

I order a wall in Cape

Nov 1 - Nupe and Bauchi are now cores

Jan 15, 1606 - Rebels in Berber

Jan 25 - Timurids tried to attack the natives in their province at Boina and failed. The natives rose up and burned their colony.

Mar 13 - We win in Berber

I order colonists to Boina

I withdraw my plans for war. The Timurids don’t know how close I came. My entire fleet is at the Arabian peninsula with 13000 of my best troops and a general ready to land on one of their COTs while other transport fleets were ready to ferry troops to Socotra and Boina

Apr 1 - Worodugu is now a core

Oct 19 - Colonization at Boina established

Dec 12 - Fortification Upgrade in Bagirmi

Jan 1 - 1607 - One of our level 5 Production Tech guys passes today.

Jus for fun I hire the level 6 Navigator who increases your colonial range guy. I want to see something.

Feb 2 - Let’s see how far away I can colonize, if I wanted too, with my new guy.

New Guinea? Nope, too far away.

How about the Indies at all? Yup? I can send colonists to provinces in SE Asia.

South America? Easy. South South America? Easy. West coast of S America? Nope, not that.

Mosquito in Latin America, south of Honduras? Yup. Every coastal province in North America north of Mosquito, every one, is taken. That includes deep in Canada. Remember, after salt, furs are the most expensive product right now.

I had been saving up some money for the war, so I order a Naval Equipment Manufactory in Cape Verde, since it has naval supplies

Feb 6, 1610 - Boina expands

Mar 4 - The rebels captured Socotra

Dec 1 - Wagadugi is now a core

Mar 1 - Our inflation reducer advisor has died. There is no one to replace him with.

May 1 - Lesser Namaquala is now a full province:

Lesser Namaquala - 1004 farmers make us 5.07 ducats annually. I order a fort built here, and in the other two new provinces here.

My next targets, after Boina, will be the two provinces north of Little Karoo and south of Delagoa Bay. Very tough areas, but I am sending troops down there to wipe out the natives and just put two colonies there to grow into.

Actually, I just might risk colonizing them long distance like I have with other provinces here. I have a 60% chance of taking even with the natives there on the first hit. The natives have been largely quiet this game, so perhaps they dialed back the frequency of attacks which makes sense seeing as how the new colonial system operates.

The Embarrassment of Muhammad II

May 2 - Slider time. We lose 15000 manpower when I choose quality again. This is where I want to be, all of my leaders now get +1 fire.

July 10 Fortification upgrade in Mandara

July 22 - Algiers breaks their alliance with us. Why am I not surprised

Dec 30 - Boina expands

Jan 14, 1612 - I get an event Fort Decays. I either lose my level two fort in Mecca or lose 100 ducats. I chose to lose the ducats since I want a bigger fort there, and that’s how much it costs to build.

Feb 23 - We get a nasty event - Muhammad II embarrasses the court. The Sultan has committed an absolute faux pas today in front of the court and a few foreign dignitaries. The repercussions of this will take years to repair.

Our stability drops by one.

Aug 1 - Stability increases. Borgu is now a core. See, when I bumped our stability back to full with an event previously, all of the research to increase the stability was saved so that when we went down again, we started, not from the beginning, but the point at which we stopped researching years ago.

As a result, our stability popped right back up after the event.

Oct 1 - Gurma is now a core

Dec 5 - Transkei is now a colony

Jan 2, 1615 - I order Frontier Defences in Little Karoo.

A Choice for a New Sultan

Sept 1 - Govnment Tech Increases again, New Idea

Well, we are beginning to scrape the bottom of the barrel until we get enough tech to get some of the top ideas.

Bureaucracy - +5% taxes, but I’m not sure we need more money.

Unam Sanctum - The replacement for Deus Vult (which is not in play for all countries) allows me to attack heretics without loss. That means I can attack Shiites. Not many Shiite countries out there.

National Trade Policy - Trade Efficiency - With many monopolies around the world, this might net me more money than Bureaucracy. Again, not sure I need the extra cash.

Church Attendance Duty - Stab Cost -33%. When I go down in stability, it gets rough for a bigger country like myself to get it back up, and this will really help with that.

Divine Supremacy -+0.5 missionaries annually. I am currently at -0.75 annually, because we are so innovative. If we can find a few other ways to pump our annual missionaries (such as taking Jerusalem), then we can start making missionaries. That’d be great. Until then, this is a wasted Idea, however.

Grand Navy = +100% naval force limits, basically allowing me to safely double the size of my navy because right now I am at the max. How needed is this, however?

As you can see, crap right now. Get my trade up to 30 and I can get Scientific Revolution. Get some up to 53 and I can take Liberte, egalite, fraternite or Revolution and Counter-Revolution.

The next Idea is at Gvnment 30. No need to save my Idea. Might as well use it on something, no matter how icky.

Unless, say, I want TWO ideas at 30. Scientific Revolution and Smithian Economics. Yeah, I’m not taking anything in this go around.

The Reign of Musa I - Advantages Taken and Preparations Made

Nov 29 - Gift to Tunisia

Dec 1 - Delagoa Bay is now a core

Apr 1, 1635 - Production Tech Increase

Apr 19 - Grain in Butana

Apr 27 - Manabe expands

May 3 - Tunisia accepts our vassalization offer.

July 7 - The Ottomans sent us an insult, so for a year, we can attack them because we have a temporary CB on them.

July 11 - Fazughli will be a grain province. I was hoping either Fazughli or Butana would have slaves, but oh well.

July 16 - University completed in Segu. Mission completed. The next one is to build a Naval Equipment Manufactory in St. Helena. I agree and order it built

I take a look at some stats. Can I fight the Ottomans successfully?

I’d like to take Gaza, Diamientia and Judea. Jerusalem is not Africa, but like Mecca, it is valuable to my religion. The other two are in or adjacent to the Sinai Peninsula, so they count too.

Let’s look:

The Ottoman Allies: Bosnia, Serbia, Golden Horde, Qara Koyunlu, Timurid Empire

Ours: Tripoli and Tunisia. Not much there. Advantage Ottomans.

Their Land Tech - 23. Ours - 24. Not much of an advantage for us.

Ottoman Armies - 51000 infantry, 55000 cavalry.

Us - 72569 infantry, 24806 cavalry. Now, those numbers go up with 100% military maintenance. By totals, we are just 8000 down.

Naval - We have 27 big ships and 49 ships total. They have no Big ships, no small ships, 48 galleys and 9 transports for 57 ships total. That’s an advantage for us.

July 17 - I cancel military access.

In order to get ready, I’d need to do the following - build some ships and separate my navies into a Red Sea navy and a Mediterranean navy.

I’d need to build a bunch of cavalry.

I’d need to prepare several armies.

I might very well lose. They have good allies and good army, but they are spread out, and I believe, easy to hit quickly in a blitzkreig war that catches them off balance. It’s been forever since I’ve had a war, let’s have a glorious one!

I order 6000 charge cavalry built in Nile and Cairo.

I order some Muslim Archer Cavalry in Kabylia and Constanine and some cannons prepared in Delta.

I begin to move my armies around. I want a strong army in Mecca and Sinai at the beginning of the war. Mecca needs to be a siege army and Sinai needs to be a smash one.

Dec 17 - I jack up military maintenance

Feb 1, 1636 - Trade Tech Increase

June 11 - I am largely ready. I am waiting for some ships to arrive, and then I will DOW The Ottomans.

July 5 - I offer Morocco an alliance.

July 6 - They accept.

The Ottoman-Songhai War - The Eve Before

July 7 - I declare war against the Ottomans

Our stability drops one.

Now, let’s pause for a moment.

In Mecca, I have 9000 infantry and 2000 artillery. They are being ordered to Medina to attack the minor Ottoman defenders here. After crushing the defense, they will take Medina, and then move through Najd provinces to get to Al Hasa, and attack and take it. I am naming this army the Arabian Army, just to keep things easy.

In Sinai, I have 6000 cavalry and 5000 infantry. This unit is ordered into Gaza, and from thence into the four other Ottoman provinces in the area, with the intent of breaking defenders. Not only is this army;s job to take out defenders, but it also will be used to keep coutner-attackers from hitting provinces we capture. Smash Army named.

In Delta I have my Siege army, with 4000 artillery and 6000 infantry. They are being ordered into adjacent Diamientia to take it.

3000 cavalry, 2000 artillery and 6000 infantry are in Cairo, and I call this army our Matilda army. It is ordered into Sinai, and from thence into Gaza and points distant. It can be used to smash defenders or to take provinces, as we have need.

In the Sea of Crete, in a large fleet, I have 5000 cavalry, 6000 infantry and 2000 artillery which will be launched into Antalya, where they will operate alone, led my our Sultan. They are to siege Antalya and be a thorn in the Ottoman side to keep them out of the Middle East. If this army loses, but keeps them occupied while we win, then that’s a win as far as I am concerned. This is named the Turkish army.

I have an additional 21000 troops iun Asyut and Nile to either serve as defenders in case the Ottomans cross the Mediterrean or to be sent as backup armies to Ottoman territories as I have need.

I have 15 of my big ships in the Sea of Crete. 2 more are on the way after being built in Cape Verde.

I have only 6 in the Gulf of Suez. 6 more are a few sea zones away in the Coast of Pepper by Mogadishu, and I couldn’t get them here in time. I may lose here as a result.

I will be using this navy to harass other forces from getting into my rear flank.

Okay, here we go.

The Ottoman-Songhai War - Equilibrium

July 7 - Tripoli dishonours our alliance but Morocco and Tunisia are in. All of their allies are in.

July 11 - Battle in the Gulf of Suez

July 18 - Smash army arrives in Gaza. I see an army in Judea and order them ion.

July 21 - Siege Army arrives in Diamientia.

July 26 - Turkish army arrives in Antalya.

Aug 15 - We win in Medina and begin a siege

Battle in Gaza as the Turks protest our presence

Aug 20 - I order 7000 troops to disembark in south Greece and besiege some Ottoman armies.

Aug 26 - Menabe expands

Sept 1 - We win in Gaza

It took two of my armies to win here, so I hold. 15000 more Ottomans are moving towards me, so they were stacked here.

Sept 11 - We assault and capture Diamienta.

We have begun the siege of Morea.

We are trouncing the Ottomans in the Gulf of Suez.

Sept 22 - We lose a Big Ship in the Gulf of Suez.

Sept 30 - 15000 Ottomans arrive in Gaza

Oct 11 - We win in the Gulf of Suez. We killed 25 Ottoman galleys

Oct 15 - We win in Gaza

Nov 6 - I land our Siege army in Rhodes, since it was going nowhere in the Middle east due to strong armies there. I am sending my reserve troops into the gap while my other armies rest and reuperate. I retreated from Gaza with my worst damaged troops. I recruit a general for my troops as well.

I;m leaving my fleet ion the Sea of Crete in case Antalya is assaulted, because they have moved armies close by. There are move than enough troops to oust us if they all attack.

Nov 18 - Our siege army has assaulted and taken Rhodes.

I order them back to the boats. If Antalya is assaulted while they are there, they can now use Rhodes as a fallback.

Nov 21 - 7000 troops have begun to march to Antalya. All infantry. I am ready.

Nov 26 - More troops are marching towards un in Antalya. Looks like they mean business.

Dec8 - I order my Siege Army to disembark in Thrace, their capital. Let’s see if this scares them!

Qara Koyunlu has 8000 troops heading towards our Medina army. I was hoping they’d be untouched.

Dec 21 - A large Ottoman army arrives in Antalya. Large. 16000 large.

Dec 22 - Battle in Gaza.

Dec 25 - We win in Gaza

Dec 27 - We land in Thrace

Dec 28 - Actually, Qara Koyunlu is coming to Sinai where I have my recuperating armies, but won’t arrive until early Feb.

Jan 2, 1637 - More troops arrive in Antalya, but we are winning. We arrive in Judea with a major army 11,500 big. I now see how many troops they have here and its incredible. 27000 troops are in Hawran. Another 11000 are fleeing Gaza after being defeated again. I need more troops.

I order all of my reserves to push forward. I need a bit more battlescore to take Diamientia in peace negotiations. There are way too many troops here to hold off forever. Almost 40% of their military might is right here in these provinces, and that’s crazy.

Jan 3 - Algiers agrees to give us military access so I can bring my forces from Constantine and Kabylia forward. It will take them a while to get here, but when they are, we should be set.

Jan 11 - We were winning in Antalya, but they kept committing more and more forces, around 28000, now we are losing.

Jan 20 - We lose in Antalya

Jan 21 - We capture Morea.

Jan 23 - We lose in Judea

The Ottoman-Songhai War - A Push Forward

I need to jack up my warscore, because this losing is not helping.

I send back some of my troops in Gaza that are damaged and order 7000 African soldiers, not that good, to enter the gap.

I need to find an advantage again.

I order all five spies we have to fund patriot rebels in Judea. One fails, two are discovered, and 20000 rebels are now there attacking the Ottomans.

That should help us buy some time.

Jan 28 - We win in Achaea and begin a siege here in Greece,

Jan 29 - They are engaging us in Thrace.

Feb 3 - Qara Koyunlu troops arrive in Sinai where we meet them with our convalescing army.

Feb 4 - Our Turkish army arrives at captured Rhodes. I order them to board our fleet.

I order an assault on Gaza

Feb 6 - We win in Thrace.

Feb 14 - We win in Sinai

Feb 19 - I order our Turkish fleet to disembark in Naxos for more sieging.

We lost the assault on Gaza.

Mar 5 - We arrive in Naxos. Turks are marching towards Rhodes to recapture it.

More Ottomans bound for Gaza

Mar 10 - They assault and capture Rhodes, just like we did.

Apr 8 - Another assault on Gaza by them

Apr 24 - Another 120000 arrives in Gaza

I need these troops from N Africa.

We can now take Diamientia in peace. I want to see if I can get more, however.

Apr 29 - I send a gift to Iraq

May 7 - We are losing badly in Gaza. They literally have 20000 cavalry and 3500 infantry left and it is killing us. I order a retreat into Sinai. We lose our position at Gaza for now

May 15 - Qara Koyunlu’s 8000 fresh troops arrive in Sinai, and to prevent serious problems, I give them 50 gold for peace, which they accept. This drops my warscore with the Ottomans by one, since one point was won when we defeated these allies, but its worth it now.

May 19 - I leave a force of 9300 in Diamientia to defend from the approaching Ottomans.

May 26 - We lose in Thrace with my siege army but I had sent my fleet there for them to load onto

May 28 - We capture Naxos

We are losing badly in Diamientia.

June 1 - Iraq agrees to give us military access. I’ll use this to try and outflank the Ottomans in the Mid East

I detach a sieging unit from my convalescing troops in Sinai and send them into Iraqi territory to see what they can see.

Our 14000 strong Constantine army has made it to Libya and is getting very close.

June 10 - Whew. We won in Diamiantia. Very close.

June 13 - Zazzau is now Shiite

My Siege Army is now onboard our fleet and I order them back to Delta to reconstruct themselves

June 21 - After a really, really long time, we have captured Medina. I order my Arabioan forces on as promised to Al Hasa.

July 1 - We win in the Gulf of Suez

July 2 - We win a skirmish in Athens with my Turkish Army

A major army in enroute which we will not be able to survive. I order my fleet over

I try to win the battle in Athens by ordering my sieging army in Achaea into Athens

Aug 1 - We manage to pull through in Athens

My Constantine army has arrived in Sinai and is moving to Gaza

Aug 7 - Major battle between the core Ottoman forces here and my fresh Constantine army. I order reinforcements. This could be the battle that decides the war. Break my army and we will likley fall. Stand, and we can possibly push.

Aug 13 0 Rebellion in Kargah

The Ottoman-Songhai War - Endings...of a Sort

Aug 17 - We win in Gaza

Another Ottoman army in enroute

Aug 31 -0 Another victory in Gaza

Sept 4 - After ordering an assault, we capture Gaza.

I order the Gaza troops into Judea. I order my other N Africa army into Gaza to plug the hole

I can take Gaza and Diamientia if I want, but I need to push and get Judea as well.

Sept 5 - I offer White peace to the Timurids and they accept.

I am considering dropping my siege of Athens and loading up in my navy. I’ll hold for now, but peops is coming. I order 4 units to retreat and hope I can drop them off and come back before we are assaulted. If not, I can use Naxos as a fall back.

Sept 9 - I combine my forces in Gaza into one giant army and order them to Al Karak. That is where two of the defeated Ottoman armies are heading, and I want to push them

Sept 21 - My Arabian army arrives in Al Hasa, defeats the defending 1000 troops, and begins the siege

I have 4000 Bosnian troops coming into Athens, so I want to send out a missive to them. However, as they are the vassal of the Ottomans, I cannot make peace with them. Besides, I think I can beat them easily.

I fund patriots in Al Karak to keep the Ottomans busy until I arrive, but just 2000 arrive. Barely enough to register.

Sept 22 - The Golden Horde rejects a white peace offer.

Sept 26 - Fleet loaded with some troops so order them to quickly unload and head back to the Aegean.

Oct 5 - Our fleet docked at Delta and will be heading back now. All of the adjacent Ottoman troops are moving to Athens, so I need an evacuation plan for my men.

Oct 7 - Al Karak is reinforced with troops just a couple of days before my arrival, so I force my men back.

I order some troops into Badiyat Ash Sham, a rear Ottoman province. If I can pull the Ottomans into this from the main ME provinces, I might be able to force through an army.

Oct 14 - Instead of waiting for these 25000 troops to bear down on me, I just order my 13 regiments in Athens to board now. We won’t be out before the first ones arrive, however. Poor timing.

Oct 16 - All of my foes are marching to Gaza except the one army in Hawran

I merge my armies in Gaza into a 29,000 large sized unit. This is going to be huge.

Oct 24 - We lose to rebels in Kargah

Nov 1 - We lose in Athens

I order 12000 troops in Tabouk to enter Al Karak

Nov 20 - They arrive in Gaza. A small unti of 8000 arrives and begins a siege in Badiyat Ash Sham

Nov 23 - We win in Kargah

Nov 30 - The last of the Ottoman troops in the Mid East have arrived in Gaza. My 12000 arrives in Al Karak.

Dec 5 - After an assault, we have captured Al Karak. I order them to move to Judea

Dec 15 - My Siege Army has arrived in the Palestinian Coast and I order my troops to unload in Judea. With two armies arriving there, I hope to take it soon.

Dec 20 - We win in Gaza. They lost a lot of troops. Many are retreating to Diamientia, one to Judea. .I order my forces to split and follow one group into Diamientia where the rest remain as my stopgap against incursion.

Dec 24 - Menabe expands

Dec 26 -- They recapture Naxos. I have an army in Judea.

Dec 29 - Both are now here.

Jan 1, 1638 - We win in Diamientia. One Ottoman army literally destroyed

Jan 2 - Judea falls.

I order another army to board our ship.

Jan 9 - We win in Diamientia again.

Jan 23 0 I order my army to unload in Rhodes again.

I have the remannts of one army in Cairo fighting my army.

Jan 28 - The third army fleeing Gaza arrives in Judea

Jan 30 -We win in Cairo. They flee to Alexandria and I give chase

Jan 31 - The siege of Rhodes has begun

Feb 1 - Stability increase. We win in Judea. I order my troops to follow them into Hawran

Feb 12 - We capture Badiyat Ash Sham

Feb 18 - We capture Rhodes after a quick assault.

So we have Rhodes, Morea under siege, Diamientia, Gaza, Badiyat Ash Sham, Judea, Al Karak, and Medina, plus some naval domination and finally busting through the Ottoman forces in the Mid East. They cannot land an army to my rear because of my awesome fleet.

It is time for peace negotiations. I just want Judea, Gaza and Diamientia and that;s it. This is really under the battlescore. It is time for peace. If they refuse, I’ll push them, and take Medina too, so I can biuld a land path to Mecca, otherwise I’m good.

They reluctantly accept peace under those conditions.

I wondered why they accepted, because often they are stubborn about these things, so I save the game and enter as the Ottomans. They had no manpower left to refill their troops, whereas I still had about 12k in the bank. Makes sense. I just wish I had pushed for Medina now.

Let’s look at our new provinces:

Diamientia - 10724 al Misr Arabic Sunni fisherman make us 16.66 ducats annually. This coastal province is adjacent to Delta, Cairo, Sinai and Gaza. It has a workshop, marketplace, temple and courthouse. I had a boundary dispute event earlier and this is a core of ours already. I order a Constable here.

Gaza - 8693 Sunni al Misr Arabic salt traders make us 21.50 ducats annually. This port is adjacent to Judea, Sinai, Diamientia and Iraq plus the Ottomans in other provinces. It comes with the same for buildings as above. I order a level 2 fort built here.

Judea - The prize of the war. 19716 al Misr Arabic Sunni farmers make us 15.44 ducats annually. It comes with the same four provinces, and is only adjacnt to us in Gaza. I order a level two fort here.

All in all, a successful war. Good job all.

We now have The Conquest of Jerusalem which gives us half a missionary annually and extra prestige annually. I will now take Divine Supremacy a National Idea, which will give us another half annually. That makes up the -0.75 we make for being really innovative, so we can get one missionary every four years and use them to start fixing our provinces permanently.

I order us to adopt the Islamic Center of Scholarly. Our build cost increase by 8 pecent, but our revolt risk nationally drops and our Missionary chance increases.

I begin to divide and redivide my troops. Some are heading back to Constantine. Some are heading back to Mamluk territory. One smaller army is returing back to the border between the ex Ethiopian territory and the ex Swahili territory,

The Reign of Musa I - Stabilizing Post-Conflict

Feb 20 - I dispatch colonists to Abomey, the last unclaimed province in the old Songhai area

Feb 22 - Morocco breaks their alliance with us. I figured that would happen once we were at peace

Mar 9 - Colonization attempt fails. I send in another

Mar 26 - It fails too. We had a 55% chance of taking. Instead of sending in more, I hold up for a bit.

May 25 - I get an Explusion of Merchants event and just pay the 50 ducats.

Durin gthe war, Venice established a COT in Crete and it may have lowered the value of Alexandria a bit.

June 11 - I drop an army back off at Arguin

July 14 - Residual war exhaustion causes a rebelion in Kilwa.

Sept 11 - An army arrives back at Constantine

Oct 3 - Tripoli rejoins our alliance

Oct 24 - Another army arrives in The Canarias

Dec 22 - We lost against rebels in Kilwa

Feb 20, 1639 - I order a level 2 fort in Diamientia,

Mar 30 - We crush the rebels in Kilwa

Apr 23 - Menabe expands and I send more colonists

Aug 10 - My army has been rebuilt and reset so I order my troop maintenance down to 50%.

Sept 16 - I order Land Enclosures for Judea

My armies -

10000 in Aures
11000 in Constantine
11000 in The Canarias
13000 in Arguin
11000 in Kongo
6000 in Bagamoyo
8000 in Awsa
11000 in Mecca
6000 in Suakin
10000 in Alexandria
12000 in Judea
11000 in Gaza
9000 in Diamientia.

That gives us the third largest land army in the world (after France and Castille, with Briitain and Ming rounding the top five.) Sweden has formed Scandinavia and is at 6, Ottomans at 7, Golden Horde, Venice, Timurids, Muscowy, Japan and Khandesh in order through the first page.

That’s 129,000 total troops in case you are interested.

Nov 11 - Menabe expands as is now a full province:

Menabe - In the south western coast of Madagascar lies Menabe, a farmign community of 9733 people who make us 5.44 ducats annually. I order a fort here.

And that is the final African coastal province we can see (there is an island east of Bourbon that I failed to explore when I had Quest for the New World).

With no European powers in Africa, and no more coastal provinces in Africa left, we have completed the 5th objective.

Dec 11 - The Ottomans are now at war with Muscowy, Hesse and Polotsk.

Dec 21 - I do not want the Ottomans as forever enemies, so I proclaim a guarantee on them. The first of several steps to bounce back our relations.

Feb 25, 1640 - I order Customs Houses in Judea and Diamientia

Apr 15 - I get another Military Reform event and choose the army. I need the next level in Land Tech as soon as possible, and I am saving up money for when I do. Then I get level 3 forts.

June 4 - One of the several generals we recruited has died.

July 17 - I Pass the Anti-Piracy Act. We cannot make pirates. Our repution limit (the amount of badboy you can accumulate before starting a continental war with everyone against you) descreases, and our prestige will increase by 1 annually.

July 19 - We complete a Naval Equipment Manufactory in St. Helena. I order a level two fort built there.

That completes this mission. Our next mission is to build a Fine Arts Academy in Ndongo, but I don’t build those, they suck.

I cancel it and the next mission is to build a University in Sofala. Doable.

Aug 1 - Production Tech Increase

Aug 20 - Fort Decays event in Constantine and I pay to keep it.

Oct 14 - Another general dies

Nov 1 - We gain in Land Tech. Awesome.

I order level 3 forts in:

The Canarias
Cape Verde
Alexandria
Gaza
Arguin

And level 2 in Taodeni and Kongo.

Nov 15 - Gift to the Ottomans and Tripoli

Dec 22 - Gift to Venice

Jan 25, 1641 - Gift to Venice

Feb 28 - I order a Constable in Judea and a level 3 fort in Diamientia and Sinai and a level 2 fort in Aures

May 1 - I send a colonist to Abomey

May 18 - This time it takes and more are dispatched

May 30 - I get a great leader event for my Treasurer. I can choose:

Implement National Debt Funding Plan - Gain some ducats, -10% interest for four months
Implement Tax Reform - +10% National tax for four months.

I choose the first

I jack down my money making over the next few months to maximize the reduction.

June 3 - Abomey expands

June 19 - Expansion again

July 5 - Expansion again

July 24 - Ivory in Abomey

Aug 18 - Abomey expandeth

Sept 5 - We get an event - Engineers are Busy and gain a level three fort in Katsina

Jan 3, 1642 - I order level 3 forts in several places: Mecca, Cairo, and Taodeni

I order level two forts in Gao and Timbuktu. I don’t think anyone would attack that deep, but just in case

Apr 1 - We get our first missionary. I send it to Kongo. This is why I built its fort and stationed 11000 troops here. Just in case they get pissed off at my actions.

June 19 - Gift to Ottomans

Jul 1 - Govnemtn and Naval Tech gains. We can now build Merchantmen.

July 18 - Abomey expands

Dec 1 - Damaraland is now a core

Jan 1, 1643 - Level 3 fort in Bourbon and St. Helena

And a marketplace in Cape Verde

Feb 2 - Gifts to the Ottomans and Venice

May 1 - Lesser Namaquala is now a core

June 18 - Abomey expands

Aug 5 - Gifts to Venice and Ottomans

Dec 3 - Gift to Venice

Dec 18 - Venice wants us to open our markets so that they can trade in it. I agree

We can now trade in Venice’s COT and them in ours.

I order all five of our merchants to Venice and order that it be a top priority to establish trade here into we are getting a monopoly or close to it.

Jan 1, 1644 - I order a shipyard built in Zeila. Much like Cape Verde is our shipbuilding province in the east, this will be ours in the west. I order a level 3 fort in Judea.

Feb 10 - Venice gives us military access. Perfect. I have zero desire to ever be at war with Venice, but they are so close. Venice has basically captured all of Italy, including Sicily, and I want peace with them, no question. Now I can use their provinces as bases against any future wars with the Ottomans (in case they DOW me) and such, plus it makes it much harder for us to go to war.

Feb 15 - Ibrim changes to Shiite

April 1 - Hello Nasr Toure. A level 5 treasurer that just appeared in Segu. I can drop two possible advisors for him. I have a level 5 Production tech guy who will be around for very little time, since he had 69 years on the job. I also have a level 2 trade tech guy I can dump for the level 5 guy. I drop the experienced and aged 5 star production guy for the five star trade tech guy, because it’s a good long term move.

Apr 18 - The Ottomans, still at war with Russian powers. Know what this is a good time for? Rebellions.

I order patriot rebels in Hawran and Al Karak. We were caught so I send a gift to make up for it.

May 21 - Abomey expandey

July 2 - I get the People Sambling New Religions event again and choose Heresy in Libya for ten years.

July 4 - Then two days later, I get another negative event - Political Crisis. I can choose for us to lose one stability or I gain three badboy. I choose the later since I currently have a clean reputation.

July 15 - 17000 Ottoman troops ended any thoughts of rebellion.

Aug 20 - I just noticed that in the old Ottoman provinces I can build Spahi Cavalry. Later, after I am looking for my next project, I am going to upgrade my cavalry.

Sept 3 - Gift to Ottomans

Nov 14 - And already our Nasr Toure gets a great work published. I order that his efforts will be known worldwide, and ou prestige jumps and we get some extra trade tech investment for a while.

Dec 10 - We establish a monopoly in Venezia. Next target, Liguria

Apr 18, 1645 - Abomey expands and is now a full province.

Abomey - Adjacent to Oyo, Borgu, Gurma, Wagadugi, Kumasi, Godl Coast and Whydah stands the 6407 ivory traders of Abomey. They make us 9.97 ducats annually.

May 8 - Ottomans are now at peace. I send a gift.

May 18 - I have good prestige and great diplomacy right now. Perfect time to try and annex Tunisia.

They accept.

Tunis - 322642 Maghreb Arab Sunnis farmers make us 18,26 ducats annually. This port is next to Constantine and Gabes and is loaded. It has a university, workshop, temple, and courthouse. I order a marketplace built here.

Gabes - South of Tunis is Gabes, another port city. 14154 Sunni Maghreb Arab farmers make us 6.89 ducats annually. It is next to Tripoli and gives us a land connection with our only ally. It comes with a temple, workshop and courthouse. I order a level 3 fort here.

June 1 - The remaining five provinces of the Mamluks which we took in annexation are now cores (Nile, Cairo, Nubia, Taka and Berber)

Slider Time! We have gone decentralized in a couple of events and I want to move us back. We have a pretender regiment rise up way down south in Transkei.

June 26 - I have loaded up my 6000 troops in Suakin and am sailing them down to Transkei.

July 1 - We are now accepting al Misr Arabic as an integral part of our nation and culture.

July 9 - Gift to Ottomans

Sept 3 - Wow. Something I did not expect came today. An alliance offer from Venice. Very interesting.

I’d prefer Morocco as a forever ally, but we have had no major allies in a while. They have literally, and I mean literally, no allies. I accept, let’s see how this goes.

We have the 4th largest army in the world and they have the 8th. They have the largest navy in the world and we are at 7th (although we are 3rd in big ships).

Sept 13 - We defeat the pretender rebels in Transkei.

Dec 21 - Troops returned to Suakin

Jan 16, 1646 - Tripoli accepts vassalization after we explain the values of being our vassals.

Mar 4 - Revolt in Tunis

Mar 14 - Defeated

May 1 - Trade Tech increase

May 15 - Our great ruler died today. Say hello to his successor - Harangi II with Admin of 5, Diplo of 7 and Military of 4. Not that great, but he doesn’t outright suck.

May 21 - Constable in Tunis and nothing more in Gabes

May 27 - Kongo has converted. This means the province is no longer Kongolese but Malie as well as Sunni. Pop Growth arnd taxes are way up.

June 1 - Govnment Tech Increase. Kongolese is no longer an accepted culture.

I move the Kongo troops to Ndongo.

I order our next missionary to Ndongo.

Aug 18 - Algiers accepts a RW with us.

Aug 21 - We enter into one with Adal.

Adal is currently in a Regency Council. Perhaps they would like someone with a better handle on things to help them run their country?

Oct 12 - Revolts in Gabes of a Nationalist nature

Oct 15 - Which we put down.

Jan 10, 1647 - I order a Textile Manufactory in Tajura

June 4 - I am sending colonists to Butana and Fazughli to finish them off

June 9 - Adal enters into an alliance with us. Now I just need to keep them for a month and then we can offer annexation.

July 9 - I am not sure how many shots I get at this, but they have a Diplo of 3, we have a high prestige, and a good Diplo myself, plus maxed relations, and the requisite RM and alliance. I am told this is a maybe. Here we go. I offer them vassalization.

July 10 - They accept.

We get closer and closer to African unity. Every African nation is either our vassal or has been annexed except for Morocco and Algiers. That’s how close we are.

Alright, I know I am just 12 years away from the 250 year review, but I want to take a look at the map, because the whole Scandinavia thing threw me. It’s 1647 - what is happening around the world?

Castille has not taken any Iberian provinces, odd because Galicia and Navarra are still running around.

France has solidified its gains. It has gained all of Eastern germany, plus it is engulfing the lowlands and I believe that soon they will all be French.

Scandinavia is the new hotness. They have a ton of mainland provinces including those in the old Lithuania Polotsk region and many in the Bohemian and Brandenburg regions.

Muscowy has shrunk a bit to Scandinavia and the Golden Horde

Venice has, as mentioned before, taken most of the traditional lines of Italy except for Malta and some provinces in the north and west, where they are French. They have not taken The Papal States province of Roma.

Khandesh has unifed most of India, but it seems that every time I look at the map, another power can say that before they get brushed aside.

Ming has lost some of its provinces. To revolters or to internal issues, I do not know. Khmer, Pegu, and more have split off. Brunei has grown and taken parts of Ajeh island and all of the old Malaccan provinces from Ming. When an island nations takes on China and wins, I‘m on their side! Yet, Brunei has lot a province on Borneo to Ming, another to revolters, and Makassar has rebelled successfully as well.

The British have arrived here as well. They have taken most of Ajeh Island.

Korea is getting swallowed up by Manchu.

In the Americas, wow.

Great Britain has colonized all the way to one province from the west coast in northern Mexico. They have the Deep South provinces, no deeper than one province in, all along the south US. They also took out the Incas, and have large spacious colonies in Brazil and Argentina.

Castille has all of the Eastern US and lower Canada except for a few provinces, all the way to Kansas in the south, and Michigan in the north. They also have Venezuela and some adjacent areas like Panama and the beginning of Columbia.

Portgual has medium sized colonies in south Brazil and another in Chile. They also took out the Zapotec and have all of their provinces in lower Mexico and much of Central America. Add a few Canadian provinces as well.

France has a lot of Canadian provinces, and then a few spread out provinces here and there but nothing too large or concentrated. They were late to the party.

Once the British Ajeh provinces become cores in 43 years, they can colonize the Indies at will. That’s going to be nasty. They just jumped around Africa and forced themselves into a nice little “colony”

As soon as they appear on my map, I intend to colonize Mauritus and Diego Garcia.

Aug 20 - Butana and Fazughli expand and our now full provinces.

Butana - South of Berber, north of Gojjam and west of Taka and Gonder lies the 1012 farmers making us 4.55 ducats annually. To its west lie several more unclaimed territories.

Laughlin - West of Gojjam and Adal’s Kefa lies the 1012 farmers making us 4.55 ducats annually. This province is also next to unclaimed lands.

I order level one forts in both since they are near-ish the action.

Oct 8 - Agri Rev in Nubia. I order a Workshop here.

Dec 1 - Greater Namaquala is now a core

Mar 12, 1648 - Venice has DOWd The Papal States and I join them. This is…tasty. But I know I cannot get troops there before Venice does. I’ll let them take Roma so that they can become Italy and we can have a stronger ally.

July 20 - Venice captured Roma

Aug 17 - I’m sorta just waiting for the war to end now.

Sept 11 - Still waiting and the papacy offers me a white peace. I take it. Who knows how long Venice will be ornery.

Sept 23 - Venice accepted peace for ducats. Not worth it.

Okay, I am about to crush my stability.

See, we have a Despotic Monarchy. If you have a despotic government form after 1700, your country goes through some mega hits in the game, as your people want freedom. I can change to:

Feudal Monarchy - I get extra land force limits (amount of troops per province before attrition sets in). Stab hit 4.
Noble Republic - Leeaders change every 8 years. Tolerance of Heathens and Heretics up one each. Stab hit 4. No RMs = no annexation
Administrative Monarchy - Production Efficiency +10%. Stab hit 1.
Absolute Monarchy - Troops Discipline up 5 percent. Stab hit 1
Theocracy - 10% missionary chance. No Royal Marriages = no annexation. Stab hit 4

We have one more option. I can, as a decision, choose for us to be an Empire. Stab hit 3. Gain 5 prestige temporarily and that’s it.

The obvious choice is Administrative Monarchy, and I make that decision.

Our stability drops one.

April 26, 1649 - Ndongo converts

Aug 11 - Major hit today. Constantine has converted to Shiite. Ouch.

Oct 14 - I am extending the 250 year in review to Jan 1, 1650, when our stability is supposed to rise again

Nov 1 NLD - Taqali, next to Fazughli and Butana

Nov 15 - Quality Ivory event triggers (+1 prestige)

Dec 1 - NLD Dar Nuba, west of Fazughli

Jan 1, 1650 - Stability increase - 250 year in review.

250 Years in Review

Our vassals - Adal and Tripoli

Our ally - Venice (and our vassals)

We are an Administrative Monarchy ruled by the adequate Harangi II, ADM 5,7,4. He has been ruling since May 1646.

The Empire option is now gone.

If our ruler had an Military of at least 5, I would have Adopted the Title of Khalifa. Hopefully that will happen someday.

We have 129 army regiments and 50 ships

We are 5th in Prestige. 13th best in Inflation (just 3.5%).

We still rock the income, and France is a distant second.

The highest land tech is 29, which includes France, and we are at 25. Same for naval, trade is 28 and 25, production is 29 and 27, and government is 31 and 27.

We have 136 provinces. But, be warned Britain, France and Castille all have over 100.

Kongo
Cairo
Bure
Gao
Cape
Jenne
Dendi
Benguela
Bambuk
Segu
Delta
Borno
Bourbon
Benin
Judea
Futa Jallon
Gonder
Massina

See what happened once I converted and cultured Kongo? It is, taxwise, our best non-COT province. You’ll also note newer additions like Cairo and Judea on the list. Bambuk is the only animist province on the list, and it wil be my next missionary target.

By Production (not including gold mines)

Timbuktu (better than all but two gold mines in fact)
Gobir
Bourbon
Damagaram
Tadimekket
Awsa
Futa Jallon
Gaza
Aures
Sinai
Taodeni
Azawadd
Suakin
Kanem
Sierra Leone
Alexandria
Cayor
Massawa
Benin
Gabon

Benin is the only ivory province without a manufactory to make the cut. Sierra Leone is the top slave province w/o a manufactory.

Alexandria remins the top COT in the world and Timbuktu is 4th.

We have monopolies in Alexandria, Timbuktu, Venezia, Kutch, Acadia, Mixtec, Hormuz and Fars.

The most undersupplied good is Tea with just 21% and then coffee at 24%. The most demanded item is Slaves followed by Fur and 169% and 152% respectively.

With the massive colonization in the Americas, we are really benefiting.

July 3 - I Promote Frontier Defences in Bagamoyo
