Saturday, May 1st, 2077: Fans, friends and family were cheering today when Eduardo López received April's Continental League Batter of the Month Award.

López stung the ball all month, posting a .392 batting average with 5 home runs, 21 RBIs and 23 runs scored.

RL Announces Best Batter Award
Saturday, May 1st, 2077: Dennis Mack battered Republic League pitchers all April and wound up taking home the Batter of the Month Award.

"I've been around FOOL-X long enough to know you really have to work hard day in and day out to be able to put up this kind of consistency," the 29-year-old Mack told reporters. "I put in a lot of work, even on the days I might not take the field, and it's always nice when everything comes together for me like it did this last month."

In 24 games, Mack hit .313 with 9 home runs, 27 RBIs and scored 18 runs.

Continental League Announces April's Top Pitcher
Saturday, May 1st, 2077: Despite the number of years he's been in the league, Marcos Martínez still gets excited when he puts together a quality stretch like he had in April. The 32-year-old starter for London was named Continental League Pitcher of the Month earlier today.

He collected 5 wins and no losses with 23 strikeouts in his 5 starts, putting up a fine 0.49 ERA in 37 innings of work.

Reliever April's Best Hurler in RL
Saturday, May 1st, 2077: The Pitcher of the Month Award has been announced and the Republic League winner is Spring bullpen ace, Sosa Sakata. For his fine efforts in April he has been named the league's top pitcher.

During the month, the Lions star excelled with 8 saves in 9 save opportunities, a 0.60 ERA and 1 win and no losses. In 15 innings he struck out 15 and gave up 8 hits and 0 walks.

Saturday, May 1st, 2077: A veritable toddler to the Continental League, Jesús Cruz just sewed up the Rookie of the Month trophy for April.

Over the past month the 22-year-old right fielder for Washington hit .314 with 16 hits, 2 home runs and 12 RBI. He also logged 3 walks and compiled a .362 on-base percentage.

RL Selects Rookie Star of the Month
Saturday, May 1st, 2077: Jaime Rodríguez is still a bit shy, but then, who could blame the newest Republic League Rookie of the Month honoree? He hasn't been around the league long enough to fully know the ropes yet, despite the fact that he's putting up veteran-like numbers.

St Louis's López Collects May Batting Honor
Tuesday, June 1st, 2077: The vote is in and Eduardo López, the 26-year-old left fielder for St Louis, is the winner. Today he was honored with the Continental League Batter of the Month award.

In May, López wowed voters with a .358 average while posting up 6 home runs, 26 RBIs, 20 runs scored and a .470 on-base percentage.

Presently López is batting .374 with 11 home runs and 47 RBIs. He has played in 53 games and scored 43 times.

RL's #1 Batter Announced
Tuesday, June 1st, 2077: In May, Alfonso Delgado was the toughest out in the Republic League and that is the prime reason he was voted the Batter of the Month.

The Cleveland right fielder rapped out 24 hits in 95 at-bats for a .253 batting average, hit 7 home runs, drove in 20 runs and scored 22 times.

To date, Delgado has collected 37 hits for a .202 average. He has posted 10 home runs, scored 33 runs and driven in 28 runs.

May's #1 Starter Named in CL
Tuesday, June 1st, 2077: Will Cox's been around the league long enough to appreciate the honor he received today. After going 4-1 in May, the 31-year-old Oshawa hurler has been named Continental League Pitcher of the Month.

He fanned 28 in 36.1 innings, logged an ERA of 1.73 and allowed opponents to hit .181 against him.

So far this season Cox has a 5-4 record, 10 starts, 68.1 innings, 57 strikeouts and a 2.63 ERA.

RL Selects Mercado May's Best Pitcher
Tuesday, June 1st, 2077: Upon hearing the news that he had won the Republic League Pitcher of the Month honors for May's work, New York reliever António Mercado merely smiled.

"That's just the kind of guy he is, and that's what makes him so good out there," his manager told reporters. "The guy has ice water in his veins. Nothing short of a League Championship could get this guy excited and I'm not so sure that'd do it either."

Mercado made 15 relief appearances burning through 22.2 innings as he racked up no saves, 28 strikeouts and held batters to a .171 average as he notched a 4-0 record and a 1.59 ERA.

In 26 relief appearances in 2077, Mercado has nailed down the victory 1 times for his club. In 33.2 innings he has fanned 40 batters and walked 4. His won-lost record is 5-1 with a 2.94 ERA.

Plantana Rookie Reels in Reward in May
Tuesday, June 1st, 2077: Chris Mitchell earned May's Rookie of the Month honors in the Continental League for last month's performance. The boyish Plantana center fielder might be wet behind the ears, but he's proving that he has what it takes to play at this level.

Mitchell hit .349 with 1 home run, 29 RBIs and 21 runs scored this past month on his way to winning the award.

This season Mitchell is batting .315 with 3 home runs. His totals include 35 RBIs and 30 runs scored.

Newcomer Honored by Republic League
Tuesday, June 1st, 2077: Yoshimochi Mizutani moved to the head of the class today as the 26-year-old center fielder for Spring bagged the Republic League Rookie of the Month trophy for May.

Over that stretch Mizutani batted .267 with 28 hits in 105 at-bats, collecting 3 home runs, 7 RBIs and 13 runs scored.

This season Mizutani is batting .269 with 3 home runs. He has scored 21 runs and driven in

Reynaldo Silva Winner in Continental League
Thursday, July 1st, 2077: His solid numbers speak for themselves. That's why Reynaldo Silva of the Washington Freedom was named the Continental League's best batter in June.

The Washington left fielder starred with a .346 batting average, 9 home runs and 25 RBIs.

So far this season Silva is batting .316 with 17 home runs.

López of Cleveland RL Batter of the Month
Thursday, July 1st, 2077: Seasoned by several years of professional experience, 30-year-old César López put together a solid offensive month for Cleveland and was crowned June's top batter in the Republic League.

He batted .327 with 6 home runs, 28 RBIs and 18 runs scored.



López's current batting average stands at .301 and he has chalked up 11 home runs and 58 RBIs.

Girard Named Top CL Hurler
Thursday, July 1st, 2077: Veteran Kevin Girard put together quite a successful stretch in June for the St Cloud Raindrops, earning himself the Continental League Pitcher of the Month award.

Girard racked up a 4-1 record in 7 starts, posting a 1.48 ERA over 42.2 innings and striking out 36.

Season-to-date Girard has rung up 9 wins and 4 losses in 20 appearances. He has an ERA of 2.54 and has fanned 96 batters in 117 innings.

Torres Tabbed as June's Starter of the Month
Thursday, July 1st, 2077: Carlos Torres really strutted his stuff in June with 4 wins and 1 loss and walked off with the Pitcher of the Month Award in the Republic League. The New York starter was good news for his club, but bad news for the opposition.

In 48.2 innings of work, Torres limited opposing batters to 33 base hits and a .192 batting average. He totaled 48 strikeouts, issued 6 walks and had a 3.14 ERA.

Presently Torres has a 9-5 mark in 20 starts with a 3.23 ERA. He has given up 116 hits in 128 innings, struck out 116 and issued 20 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .239 batting average against him.

June's Premier CL Rookie Named
Thursday, July 1st, 2077: Youngster Jesús Cruz emerged as the latest Continental League Rookie of the Month today. The young man from Washington deserved the honor, batting .355 with 1 home run and 12 RBI. Is the month of June a harbinger of things to come or just a fluke? We'll find out someday, but for now, we'll just let Cruz enjoy the limelight.

On the year Cruz has hit .324 with 3 home runs, 26 RBIs and scored 38 runs.

Rookie Calton Jr. Named Best in June
Thursday, July 1st, 2077: Doug Calton Jr.'s eyes seem to light up whenever he sees the baseball. The young New York left fielder has been hitting everything in sight for the better part of a month.

In June he was voted the Rookie of the Month Award.

During the month he hit .247 with 7 doubles, no triples and 3 home runs. Calton Jr. also scored 11 times and drove in 13 runs.

Currently Calton Jr. has 5 home runs and a .237 batting average.

Silva Wins CL's Best Bat Award
Sunday, August 1st, 2077: Reynaldo Silva used that sweet swing with great success for Washington last month, garnering him the Continental League Batter of the Month award.

The 27-year-old left fielder put up a .359 batting average and collected 4 home runs, 25 RBIs and 22 runs scored.

Silva is currently hitting at a .327 pace with 21 home runs, 85 RBIs and has scored 81 times.

July's Best RL Hitter is César López
Sunday, August 1st, 2077: In the last year of his deal with Cleveland, César López has created some waves by winning July's Republic League Batter of the Month title today.

Havana's Maldonado Top Pitcher in July
Sunday, August 1st, 2077: A 4-0 record with a 2.41 ERA is a pretty good month for most any pitcher. The Continental League thought it was worthy of an award and named Eduardo Maldonado, starter for the Havana Banana Sluggers, July's Pitcher of the Month.

He also held the opposition to a .232 average while posting 21 strikeouts in 33.2 innings.

To date this season, Maldonado has registered 21 starts, 10-3 won-lost mark, 3.02 ERA, 128 IP, 117 strikeouts and 39 walks. Opposing teams have hit .242 against him.

RL Honors July's #1 Pitcher
Sunday, August 1st, 2077: Tom Bates of New York had an award-winning July as he took home the Republic League Pitcher of the Month award.

"He told me once people used to make fun of the way he pitches," Bates's pitching coach told reporters. "There wasn't anybody laughing in July except for Tom."

Bates was all business when he took the mound though, collecting a 4-1 record in 6 starts. He struck out 36 batters in 36.2 innings and kept opponents to a .207 batting average.

On his stats sheet for the year Bates shows a 8-4 record, 23 starts, 126.1 innings, 111 strikeouts and a 3.92 ERA.

Washington Newcomer July's Best Rookie
Sunday, August 1st, 2077: Jesús Cruz was toddling around on his tricycle when some of the guys he's playing against were in their prime, but the 22-year-old right fielder definitely knows how to get to first, second or beyond. Today he was chosen July's Continental League Rookie of the Month for his remarkable month of hitting.

In 17 games Cruz batted .457 for Washington, slapping 21 hits in 46 at-bats with 2 home runs, drove in 13 runs and scored 14 times.

In 80 games this season Cruz has batted at a .351 pace with 79 hits and 5 home runs.

July's Best Rookie Honored by RL
Sunday, August 1st, 2077: Today Waikiki's George Howell was named the Republic League Rookie of the Month for July. He punished RL hurlers hard the entire month, collecting 20 hits in 67 at-bats.

Wednesday, September 1st, 2077: August was an outstanding month for New York center fielder Mark Faulkner and it was capped off today with the announcement that he was named the winner of the Republic League Batter of the Month award.

Faulkner compiled a .438 batting average and .492 on-base percentage for the month. In 28 games he piled up 49 hits, 10 home runs, 28 RBIs and 24 runs scored.

A look at his current stats shows Faulkner with a .299 average, 29 home runs, 99 RBIs and 81 runs scored. He has played in 132 games.

Anaya Earns August's Best Pitcher Honor
Wednesday, September 1st, 2077: When Jaime Anaya takes the hill, chances are good for a St Louis victory. At least that's the way it was in May.

He excelled with a 4-0 mark and 1.33 ERA in 6 starts, tossed 40.2 innings, fanned 24 and held others clubs to a .140 average.

That's why the Hops star was honored today as the Pitcher of the Month by the Continental League.

This season Anaya has worked 169 innings with 96 strikeouts en route to a 13-5 record and a 3.46 ERA.

Walker Is August's Top Starter
Wednesday, September 1st, 2077: The Pitcher of the Month Award in August has been selected and the Republic League honor went to Cleveland hurler, Stephen Walker. For his excellent performance he has been named the league's top pitcher.

During the month, Walker was superb with a 1.56 ERA and 5 wins and no losses. In 40.1 innings he struck out 27 and gave up 34 hits and 5 walks.

This year Walker has fashioned a 13-8 mark, 3.12 ERA and pitched 184.1 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .251 against him and he has logged 154 strikeouts.

Wednesday, September 1st, 2077: Tony Rodríguez earned Rookie of the Month honors in the Continental League for his exemplary performance in August.

The Oshawa right fielder racked up 28 hits, clubbed 1 home run, drove in 22 runs and tacked on 11 runs scored for good measure.
