Saturday, November 16th, 2143: Good defense can be the difference between taking the championship and coming in second. The Continental League announced its top defenders at each position today. Here are the Best Fielder Awards winners for 2143:

Halifax Starter Gets CL Rookie Vote
Sunday, November 17th, 2143: Naruhiko Kichida's age didn't show very often in his first year. He performed more like a veteran on the hill for the Halifax Winter Wolves and today he walked away with the 2143 Continental League Benny Myers Rookie of the Year Award.

The 22-year-old starter registered a 17-7 record this season in 32 starts. Over 205 innings he gave up 144 hits, struck out 132 and issued 107 walks as he held the opposition to a .201 batting average and fashioned a 2.81 ERA.


Los Angeles First Baseman Voted Best RL Rookie
Sunday, November 17th, 2143: Tatsuzo Suzuki put together some impressive numbers for Los Angeles to garner enough votes for the Republic League Benny Myers Rookie of the Year Award.

The Bruins first baseman took the honor by hitting .306 in 138 games this season and finishing with 144 hits, 20 home runs, 79 RBIs and 86 runs scored.

Big Year For Guerrero, Wins CL Gabriel Prado Award
Tuesday, November 19th, 2143: He's in the early phase of his career, but this past season Héctor Guerrero performed like a veteran on the hill for the Apex Assassins and walked away with the Continental League Gabriel Prado Award in the process.

The 25-year-old Assassins star fashioned a 18-10 won-loss record in 2143 with a 2.87 ERA. In 228.2 innings of work and 33 starts, Guerrero struck out 198 while giving up 193 hits and 76 walks. He held opposing batters to a .225 average.


López Wins Republic League Pitching Crown
Tuesday, November 19th, 2143: The votes have been tabulated for the 2143 Republic League Gabriel Prado Award. It has been given to Tony López of the Los Angeles Bruins, who piled up 19 wins this season with an impressive 2.90 ERA.

In 33 starts López had a 19-9 mark with 179 strikeouts in 239.1 innings.

CL's Best Hitter for 2143 Named
Wednesday, November 20th, 2143: It's been a year of triumph for veteran Pung-cho Kim of the Noblesville Millers as he hit his way to the 2143 Continental League Hideaki Tanaka Award.

The 27-year-old veteran compiled a .347 average and .432 on-base percentage by putting together 221 hits, 34 doubles, 5 triples, 31 home runs and 94 walks. He also scored 101 times and drove in 108 runs.


Huff Wins RL 2143 Hideaki Tanaka Award
Wednesday, November 20th, 2143: 2143 was a very good year for Hartford Harpooners first baseman Bryan Huff, this season's Republic League Hideaki Tanaka Award recipient.

Huff hit .329 with a .386 on-base percentage. He had 220 hits, 33 doubles, no triples, 55 home runs, 177 RBIs and scored 125 runs.
