Ugh. Good call there. I've been making promises to people that I don't even need to make to try to build up my integrity. I guess I will be stopping that immediately

2015 Off-Season:

Off-Season Recruiting:

Week One:

This is plain ol' ugly. Seeing all that red makes me wanna puke. Let's see what we can do.

First thing I do is take a look at the database and check for anyone who is interested and hasn't been targeted heavily. If I can sneak in even a few 2* or 3* players, I'll at least have something.

I add three players who have me #1, and a couple who had me in their Top 3. Not exactly what I was hoping for but oh well.

Finnally, I add a few players who have me in their Top 5. Longshots, but shots.

So to start off the actual recruiting, I really just want to make sure I get some of the guys I think I'm getting. Can't take any chances now.

5* HB Josh Miller would make this class at least "something". I make him a few promises that I'm not entirely sure I can keep, but I want him here. We tell him that we'll play a game in his home state of Florida, good national exposure, and Top 10 within his first two years.

I also set up some visits.

Week Two:

Just.

Week Three:

Lost.

Week Four:

Everything I wrote for these weeks. DOH.

Week Five:

Basic update is we got some two 4*'s, one of which was a big surprise. We got a few 2* and 3*'s and are in the final week, battling it out with Florida and Miami for 5* RB Josh Miller from Florida.

We're talking to him now. We get six pitches in. Now we'll back out and advance and see who landed Miller.

And....

We lost him. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! He went to Florida. One thing that confuses me is it still says Florida hasn't offered him a scholarship. Does it just not update this late or is this 5* RB paying for school?

2014/2015 Recruiting Review

Code:
Major Needs: Tight End: I only have two on the roster and I'd like a 3rd to sit and redshirt. Tackle: My starting LT is a JR, and my stating RT is a SR. I like our young guys but I'd like another elite player. Guard: Same as tackle. Center: Definitely my biggest need on the offensive line. I had to move a guard over to play center and I have a walk-on redshirting. Strong Safety: My starter is a senior, and his backup is a sophmore. I need someone to grrom under him when he takes over. Kicker/Punter Minor Needs: Backup QB DE DT MLB FS

Tight End: I got a 4* recruit here, Marvin Stovall, so I fulfilled that need.

Tackle: Not the greatest player in the world, but 3* Luke Lovelady joins the squad and should give us some decent depth.

Guard: Only landed a 2*, Tyler Harrell. Starters were set anyway, so at least I got someone.

Center: Got 2* recruit Adam King, but he's still really raw. I had to move my LT prospect to center.

Strong Safety: Landed two 2* players. They don't look too good.

K/P: No luck this year.

As for the minor needs, I succesfully landed a backup QB, a future starter at DE, and a backup DT.

Tate had a solid year in 2014 and really took a big step in the off-season. Harrell is the future starter, and Mack, Torrey, or Archer can step in a SR next year so Harrell can develop even more and start as a JR.

Maybe so you can progress the dynasty, make a house-rule that if you're up by say... 21, you have to supersim, and can only take back over if you're only up 7. That's pretty much what I do.

Unfortunately I feel like supersim is completely busted.

That's what I've been doing in mine, though I'm not particularly thrilled about doing it because the results are so wacky. The other thing I do(though boring as hell) is if I'm playing a team that I should crush, from the very start of the game if the clock is running I just run the play clock down to 10 seconds or less on every play.

Okay...rash decision. I saved at the start of the season. I'm reverting, so I'm going to delete the games I played. I don't know what it is...just not happy when I play the games.

In the receiving game, Archie, Brown, and Busing each had 4 receptions. Brown had the most yards with 72 but the burner Busing had two TD's.

NC State (1-0) @ #16 Rutgers (1-0)

Huge blowout. Carpenter and Ford split time, each throwing a TD. Tate was great, runing for 125 yards and 3 TD's. Mack ran for 108 yards on only 10 carries as a backup. We had seven different players with at least one reception, as well.

Pass protection was great on our side, giving up no sacks. We only sacked them once, which is the second straight game that we didn't get a lot of pressure.

Final Score: Rutgers 49, NC State 14

We have three of the Top 4 players who want to visit, so we set those up for the next home game, Week 5 when Virginia Tech comes in.

Other than that, nothing to report.

We did give up 4 sacks though, but had 2 sacks and 2 INT's ourselves.

2015 Week Seven:

Recruiting:

Here comes up the big update, position by position.

At QB, 4* Frank Powell has us way ahead of Maryland and Tennessee. It looks like a lock.

Same thing at RB. 4* Tony Weddle should committ to us fairly soon.

The offensive line is a big need for us. At tackle, 4* Cory Doyle is our main target. He has us #1 but Penn St. is close behind. At guard, we have a 5* players, James Thompson. He has us #1 but Oklahoma is so close it's practically a tie. We're right behind LSU on 4* Willie Brink. At center, we lost a 3* but have a 2* that favors us.

We're in a close race with Maryland for 3* DT Josh Jamison.

At OLB, 4* James Stewart likes us but still doesn't seem too set yet. Penn St. is slightly behind.

At MLB, we have two 3*'s. The better player has us #1 but has Texas right behind us. The other two players, a 3* and a 2*, have us at #1 with a pretty big lead.

Free Safety is look awesome. We have a 5* recruit, Chase Ewing, who has us #1 over WVU. As a backup, we have 4* Ira Miller who clearly favors us.

We have four players who we're going after at SS, and the two we really like have us way ahead.

3* Punter Travis Scott has us in the lead.

When it comes to the athletes, we have another 5* recruit there, T.J. Davis. He's got us #1 and we're slightly in the lead over BYU. 4* Ronald Howard puts us right behind Kansas St. at #2.

A little too close for comfort, but we eek out the win. The first quarter ended with GT up 17-7, but we outscored them 14-3 in the 2nd and didn't let up.

Ford actually got the majority of the playing time in this one due to a minor injury to Carpenter. Ford went 8-12 for 128 yards, 2 TD's and 1 INT. Carpenter went 5-6 for 40 yards and a TD.

Tate ran 14 times for 156 yards and a TD.

Archie did very well, catching 5 passes for 91 yards and a TD.

On defense, Townsend and Guerrero each had a sack, and cornerback Doucette has an INT.

#10 Rutgers (6-0) @ Clemson (5-1)

Trap game. Clemson is unranked, but is still 5-1. Kirk even picked them to win. We're rated as a B+ in everything, their a B- in everything.

Plus, playing in their stadium is never easy.

And the trap works. We not only lose, we lose big. It was close in everything other than points. Similar rushing yards, similar passing yards. The real indicator we lost? 2 of 8 on third down. That's terrible. We also lost two fumbles. Shit!

We didn't score once in the second half.

Final Score: Clemson 46, Rutgers 20

Wake Forest (1-6) @ #15 Rutgers (6-1)

We show our anger from the loss last week and blow out Wake Forest.

Carpenter went 14-20 for 270 yards and 3 TD's. Tate got pulled early and Torrey came in and ran 16 times for 107 yards.

No sacks on defense but Doucette picked up another INT.

We only have 3 of the 28 players players left on the board that don't have us #1. And they have us #2.

Still no new committs though, and no soft-committs either. I'd love to lock up a few guys.

We went through the whole board again, with a ton of spent on the 5* Guard.

#11 Notre Dame (7-1) @ #13 Rutgers (7-1)

Big, big week.

A win here could launch us into the Top 10 or at least set us up for a shot in the Top 10.

Lee and Kirk both picked ND, but we have a better OVR grade and DEF grade. Our offensive grade is equal.

FUCK. We lost another big game. 3 lost fumbles, 1 INT. They got into the redzone 4 times and got a TD everytime. We only got in the redzone twice.

What really makes this disapointing is we ended the 1st quarter up 14-7.

McDaniel had 2 INT's, and Townsend had 2 sacks.

vs.
#15 Maryland Terrapins (10-2) vs. #17 Rutgers Scarlet Knights (10-2)
Lee Picks: Rutgers
Kirk Picks: Rutger

Maryland: B- OVR, B OFF, B- DEF
Rutgers: B+ OVR, B+ OFF, B+ DEF

It's a rematch of the last time we were in the ACC championship in 2012. In that game we were fighting for a shot in the National Championship. Now we're fighting to get in the Orange Bowl as the ACC champs.

The first quarter was back and forth, Maryland scored first, we scored within the next two minutes, and then three minutes later Maryland was up again. The quarter ended with us down 14-7.

The 2nd quarter was a defensive battle until the end. With 4:57 left, Mack ran in for a 1-yard TD. Feeling lucky, we went for the 2-pt conversion and made it. Two minutes later, Latimer hit a 21 yard field goal. And with 0:09 left in the half, Latimer made a nice 36 yard field goal, putting us up 21-14.

The second half was opened up by two Rutgers touchdowns, making it 35-14. They scored two TD's to answer back, but in the middle of the 4th we went up two scored again and held them off.

We're the ACC Champions!

Final Score: Rutgers 42, Maryland 28

We got some bad news after the game. Our starting running back Tate is out for the bowl game with a fractured foot.
