My Time Has Come

After todays sim I think its time for me to pass on the league to the next person or hang it up altogether. I just have lost the passion for this commish thing. I kept it running for a year and a half after Alan left but I just can't continue. League activity is down (very few exports yesterday) and its my fault I know. The only hope if someone wants to continue is to pass it off now. I'm alot busier with the kids this summer then I was a year ago. I couldn't leave the house then so I was available all the time. I'm sorry I couldn't keep it going forever but I set out with good intentions.

Sorry if this makes you all upset. I truly care for each and every person thats ever I came in contact with.

Eddie you are a great friend and I hope you and I will stay that way forever. I firmly believe we are beyond the online friendship thing. You are a friend for life. OOTP will go away someday but you my FRIEND hopefully never will.

Teach you are amazing. You have no idea how thankful I am to have someone to go to when I needed help with the kids pertaining to school. You've helped graduate 2 MORE kids and you never spoke a word to these 2.

Chief I don't know what FOOL would've been for me without you. The many years we've played this game makes me look at you like family. I've shared many of things with you about my health that to this day my own family has no idea.

CBF This is a league thats what it is because of people like you. Each and every time I needed something you always offered help.

Sjon We've had many years of this OOTP thing together and I hope it continues.

Jeff I know you were just getting into the league and for that I'm sorry I need to do this. I'll also say that in FOD i absolutely love the fact we have a friendly rivalry. I want nothing more then to finish higher then you in the standings but yet I can still call you my friend. Friendly competition is the most fun for me.

Alan if you see this sorry I let you down.

There is others as well and just because I didn't mention you personally doesn't mean you don't matter. You all are my family.

FINAL NOTE: Sorry for bad grammar and such. I just spoke from the heart and didn't stop to proofread this time.

Dan,

Thanks for the kind words! I can't speak for everyone but I completely understand your thought process!

THanks for keeping the league afloat!

I can tell you that I wake up during the week and this league has given me something good to look forward to in those moments. I am excited every day to look at how I can improve my team, and without the morning sim for this league I will be less excited every day when I wake. True.

Dan, I get it. I wondered when you would burn out from that daily grind here. Thank you for making it work for so long.

Will there be another person who can take it over?

Dan, you're absolutely the best. You kept me around for far longer than I even planned to stay. This post made me cry because I'm a girl and because this league has been with me through some pretty crazy years and because hearing that I was even able to help for a second is something that I'm just so proud of. I'm happy that your kids are doing so well in their new schools and I'm thrilled that you are more mobile and more able to fully enjoy your family (no matter how exhausting they can be). Thanks for everything, Dan!!! You really are the best.

Oh man - sad day (although I knew this time would come eventually) my FOOL family will be missed!

Dan - thank you for taking over the league when Alan had to step down. I understand the time commit it must have taken to keep the FOOL leagues a float. Thank you for that!!!

As to the FOOL community - thank you for giving me so many awesome memories. By far the best online league I have been in!

Thanks everyone for the understanding. I assure you no post in my online life was harder to make. The positive things you guys have said here is exactly why it was so hard to make.

This is what I get for being super busy at work yesterday. I completely missed this until now.

Dan, you have nothing to apologize for. You have been a wonderful and amazing commish.

I don't know if anyone will take over the commish reigns but I can't imagine they'll do nearly as good a job as you have done.

It has always been an immense pleasure for me to get to compete with you and with everyone here at FOOL. You're all my friends, even if we haven't met in person.

Thank you for all that you have done, and thank you to everyone here who has been a part of this for five-plus years. It has been an amazing ride.

I haven't decided if I will seek out another league or not. This is a very busy time for me, so this might be the best timing to step out and move on. That would make me sad, but at the same time, I'll never forget the times I have had here.

God bless of you all, and I hope you will all occasionally check in. Maybe I'll start Alumni of FOOL group on FB? Would anyone join that? Let me know.

Dan, you didn't by any means let me down. You took on an enormous task and did a great job with it. I am sure that everyone appreciated your efforts. Enjoy the extra time with the family, you definitely deserve it.

Hey, I know this looks extremely vulturous and can easily be interpreted as being crass and rude, but since you guys played fast-sim I just wanted to tout my fast-sim league, The Royal Australian New Zealand Baseball Assoication RANZBA.

After Dark Cloud closed SLOP, I started RANZBA with a few renegades from that league and others I collected from the OOTP universe and other leagues I am in. We're currently looking for owners for a few teams who can handle fast-sim and wanted to see if anyone is interested in continuing their fast-sim experience.

We're using OOTP 13, and simming every weekday with a season complete in 2 weeks. A bunch of rules are on the website so check it out.
