So Grayson McCall was variably listed as "unknown if he will play again this season" to questionable this week, and then started-still all we know it is/was a shoulder injury, but looks good at home against Texas State. It's 14-14 at the half. The old Coastal would be blowing this team out, so lets see what happens in the 2nd half.

Well not a blowout until the 4th quarter, and McCall was out for a bit in the 4th after someone stepped on his non-throwing hand, but good guys win 35-21.

While there may be some grousing about today's SEC slate of games, don't leave Notre Dame out of that, they scheduled a shitty high school team for November too

Hogs scores !!!

10-7 AL with about 6 min left in the half. Not near as bad as the GA game.

EDIT: nvm

EDIT: nvm the nvm

17-14 AL but seriously lousy (or bought off) refs on the Hogs scoring drive.

Well frak, we can move the ball and score on Bama. If we start 2H only 3 down ...

A bit late to the discussion, but if you are Mich St., you have to be realistic. Being consistently in the tier below OSU and Michigan and getting to warm weather bowl on a regular basis and having the stars align every 10-15 years and winning the Big 10 is the best you are going to get. And it isn't a bad place to be.

Giving up a coach who gets you that b/c you think that you can do better is the sure road to complete also-ran status.

Yeah baby.

TBH I can probably buy we didn't score in that pass. But for the refs to miss the rushing TD tells me something smells of favoritism or incompetence.

There is hope!

EDIT: okay, nvm

Smells like another Ole Miss game where our defense can't do jack and its up to the offense to keep up.

Yeah. They don't seem to be able to slow Bama up on a regular basis.

31-21 now.

We can't seem to stop Bama. Barry Odom's defense has been sucking. Kendal Briles offense has faltered but not near as many times as Odom's defense.

We are doing halfway decently in offensively. We're exposing some flaws.

I loved using the ref on the pick play. Defender was PISSED. Ha!

Fraking Odom. We had some success early on pressuring the QB. We stopped that and now Bryce is like 500 yards passing. I hope he finds a HC position so we can replace him.

Defense is a sieve. A big, large gaping sieve.

42-28.

I'll be happy to beat the 3 TD spread and call it a moral victory. Frak Odom. 561 yards passing against us.

I had to laugh when I saw the 3 man rush on the 2 point conversion.

On another note, Nebraska might be the best 3-8 team ever.

Alright, we lost 42-35 but we did beat the 3 TD spread so that is something.

7-4 is better than my preseason hope (6-6). We came in CFP #21, we'll prob drop 1 or 2 but not drop out. Mizzou is next so fair chance it'll be 8-4.

You mean before or after the Irrelevant Battle for Bowl Eligibility?

If you had told me before the season FSU and UF would have the same record going into Thanksgiving, I'd have been thinking 9-3ish.

If they want him gone, this won't make that big of a difference but just for awareness. This was June 1st of this year.

Quote:
lFlorida Gators football coach Dan Mullen has received a three-year contract extension through the 2026 season that raises his annual salary to $7.6 million a year.

The new annual salary will make him the third-highest-paid coach in 2021 in the SEC, behind Alabama coach Nick Saban ($9.1 million) and LSU coach Ed Orgeron ($8.7 million). The salary also ranks him No. 5 nationally. Florida released the information Tuesday in response to a public records request.

Agree, and ofc it really doesn't matter where Michigan ends up this week. The Game matters this year at least; that'd be a nice thing to make a habit of. Who knows, maybe it'll even matter past halftime.

I doubt OSU makes Day's goal of hanging 100 on Michigan but I expect they'll score enough to win comfortably.

I'm hoping that it's actually Oklahoma State that provides the route to avoid the atrocity

I'll root for MI. They have the coolest helmets (tied with the Ducks but the green feathers are fugly) and they've been humiliated enough (sounds familiar?) and so have to root for the underdogs.

Checking early predictions to CFP, AP, Coaches and Hogs have dropped from #21'sh to #24 and #25. This seems about right to me.

Beat Mizzou handily and get into Top #20. Win the Bowl game and get into Top #15.

Been checking the Hog forum and argument about Odom's defense. One side is with me and our displeasure at Odom's 3-2-6 scheme where we don't get any pressure on the QB, and the other side explains it as we only have so much talent and this is the defense we can play. Don't buy it, frak Odom.

Thats weird. Odom was fantastic as the DC at Mizzou. The players loved him. He did so well he was hired as HC. His defenses were legut at Mizzou.

An Arkansas restaurant, Wright's Barbeque, has banned everyone from the SEC office from it's locations until they beat Alabama because of the butthurt over calls made in the game. I'm sure the SEC is real broke up about it.

Hopefully GA will rise to the occasion to continue (?) AL slow decline.

There were some bad calls that went AL favor. But it's unlikely it would have made a difference with the frakking Odom's defensive "oh, lets give the QB 9 unpressured seconds to throw" scheme.

I think that's what I hate most about this post-Carr era where 10-2 and not getting humiliated in the season-ending loss to OSU is about the best Michigan can do.

It took a while to realize that when you grow up in a place like Ann Arbor and go to Michigan and everything revolves around going to the Rose Bowl but you expect it every single year... that's just not a normal football experience. At that point, I realized why so many people hate Michigan - it's that arrogant expectation of success.

But now... the pity... the full transformation from arrogance to underdog. And it's not like Michigan isn't recruiting great athletes or maintaining a good program. That's even harder.

Unfortunately, C.J. Stroud looks like the real deal (as in legitimate top pick some day soon) and those receivers are all future NFLers. This is OSU's best offense in recent memory and it may be time to sit back and see what they can do against whatever emerges from the Alabama/Georgia double-header.

There was a big shift in college football and UofM got left behind and OSU didn't. OSU is in that small tier of teams that can legitimately compete for a national championship each and every year.

OSU will take Michigan to the woodshed on Saturday.

Looking forward to C.J. Stroud in a Lions uniform!

It's nice to see the game matter again. Whoever wins has the inside track on the 2 seed in the playoffs. It would be nice to see this game be a factor in the Championship every year.

They are, but they aren't recruiting nearly as well as OSU is. I remember the years when Michigan was beating OSU most of the time even though they were usually ranked higher. And we were arrogant as can be about it. So we kinda deserve a lot of what's happening now.

Wow. Even more grim reaper-y than losing to Kansas. Probably has a lot to do with them winning a lot more games than us. Can only get 2 coaches fired a year if you average 2 wins a year for more than a decade...

I am not a gambler, so legit question: How often does a 3-9 team cone in as a 4 point favorite versus a 9-3 team? Check the line on Iowa-Nebraska game.

Iowa is 9-2.

Nebby has been playing better. And Iowa has shown that they are dysfunctional on offense. It is in Lincoln and is being considered their bowl game and it is a rivalry game we have kicked their asses in lately.

BUT our defense is awesome and Nebby turns the ball over a lot against us.

I would jump all over Iowa if I was a gambler.
