Just a brief overview of a few highlights of the season:

Week 14: McNabb throws for 402 yards and 5 TD's against Oakland in a 45-20 win. Smith, Holt, and Gates each had over 100 yards.

Week 15: We beat the Giants 52-3 as McNabb throws for 4 TD's and runs for another.

Week 16: The offense keeps clicking as we beat the Chargers 40-14.

This was another great season:

In the divisional round, we beat the Saints 45-14 as McNabb throws for 6 TD's and 407 yards.

In the NFC Championship, we beat the Packers 31-21 as McNabb throws for 306 yards and 3 TD's. Stewart with 110 yards rushing and a TD.

We'll be facing Pittsburgh who beat the Colts 23-21.

Pittsburgh will be without star wide out Hines Ward who tore his ACL in the AFC Championship Game. They are led by the talented David Gerrard. Kenny Irons has turned out to be a strong reliable running back for them. Without Ward, their WR corp is average, but they have 2 very good TE's. Their OL is solid at every position. Defensively, they are led by Joey Porter who is still one of the most feared linebackers in the league. Their front 7 is very good, but their secondary is just average. Hopefully, McNabb can get time to pick them apart..

They start out with the ball. The first 3 plays are battering runs by Kenny Irons. Then, they run 1 PA pass for 18 yards to WR Mitch Shanks, before battering away with Irons again. Irons has 7 carries for 43 yards on the drive including a 3 yard TD run. Pittsburgh jumps to the 7-0 lead.

On 1st down, McNabb throws deep and just misses Smith. On 2nd down, we run MJD for 4 yards. On 3rd down, he throws it to Curry in the slot, but it is dropped. We have to punt.

The defenses control the rest of the 1st quarter, but their defense is gradually winning field position. At the start of the 2nd quarter, a punt return gets them to midfield. Irons gets them into FG range before we stop them. Kris Brown hits a 50 yard FG to make it 10-0.

The first play of our next drive, McNabb rolls out to his right and hits Curry in stride on a deep route across the middle. He makes it a 33 yard gain to get us into their territory. Curry also has a critical 3rd down catch to keep the drive going and get us into the red zone. From there, Stewart takes over including a 7 yard TD run. We are down 10-7.

We force a 3 and out, but their punter kicks it 70 yards and has it bounce out at our 3!

Stewart with 3 runs for a 1st. Then, a PA pass is perfectly thrown by McNabb to Smith for a 30 yard gain. Stewart with a 18 yard run to get deep into their territory. Passes to Holt and Curry for 12 yards each get us inside the redzone. Then, McNabb finds Braylon for a 11 yard TD catch! We lead 14-10 with 1 minute left in the half.

We lead 14-10 at the half and we get the ball to start the 2nd half..

Our offense is shut down quickly, but our defense returns the favor.

Our next drive, after 2 runs by Stewart for a 1st, McNabb throws a quick slant to Holt who breaks a tackle and turns it into a 51 yard gain! The next play McNabb to Gates who catches it and dives for the endzone, he is hit, and fumbles it.. it bounces into the endzone.. Smith falls on it for the TD!!! We lead 21-10.

Osi Umenyiora with a sack to force a 3 and out.

We start on our 41. Stewart with a 8 yard run. Smith with a 8 yard reception. Braylon with a pair of catches to get us inside their 20. Stewart with a pair of runs for 5 yards each. Donovan throws it to Curry who is hit hard at the 3... he fumbles.. it bounces into the endzone.. Smith pounces on it again!!! We are up 28-10!

Garrard comes out throwing, but we stop them short of midfield. They punt despite only 9 minutes left..

On 2nd down, McNabb makes a bad decision and throws a pick. Fortunately, 1 play later Tito Stargell intercepts it in the endzone to get us the ball back.

Wanting to keep on the offensive, McNabb fakes the handoff and throws deep to Holt for a 53 yard gain! We run it 5 times after that before kicking the FG to put us up 31-10.

On the 4 play of the drive, We pick off Gerrard again, this time by our new MLB Odell Thurman.

Stewart runs for 2 1sts and we are able to kill the clock. We win 31-10 as McNabb gets his 3rd ring!

Donovan finished 26 of 34 for 326 yards with 1 TD and 1 INT as he wins MVP of the Super Bowl. Stewart finished with 19 carries for 84 yards and a TD. Holt had 6 catches for 131 yards.

I wonder if any of the older guys are going to retire or if they'll come back for another run?

This year we had several players win awards:

McNabb was the offensive player of the year and the MVP. He also won both of those awards last year. Gates, Booker (my RG), Osi, and Terrence were all 1st team All-NFL. Holt was 2nd team All-NFL (he was 1st team last year.)

McNabb surpassed 300 TD's this season. He should pass 40,000 yards this upcoming season. He also passed 2500 yards rushing for his career this season. He has 21 TD's on the ground.

Off Season:

No one retired.

McNabb demands a 3 year 85 million dollar deal after I franchise him. I end up giving him what he wants.

FA Losses: CB Kendall Twitty (FA to Rams), CB Tito Stargell (FA to Chicago), C LeCharles Bentley (FA to TB.)

FA Signings: None (except for 2 undrafted rookies)

Draft thoughts:

This draft has 6 guys at the top who are can't miss superstars. I'm very tempted to go up and get one of them..

1. QB Zack Oelschlager's only knock against him is that he is only 5'11 218. Otherwise, he has everything you could want in a QB and combines to back them including a 4.44 40, a 22 strength, a 6.88 agility, and a 91 on the QB position drill. Of course, this is all about Donovan so I won't be trading up to get Zack..

2. DT Jack Burkett is a bit light at 276, but he has elite speed, agility, strength, broad jump, and he is smart.

3. CB Jesse Stewart is the most tempting. He's got perfect size, 4.36 speed, a 39 solecismic score, 21 strength, and a 55 position drill. His only weakness is that he isn't a good returner.

4. ILB Louie McSwain has red combines in every area. He's got great size at 6'3 262. He should be a beast.

5. RT Roosevelt Connors doesn't have good intelligence, but he has red combines in every other area and very good size at 6'5 315.

There is also an elite kicker at the top of the draft..

1. Carolina takes Zack the QB. They should be very dangerous in a few years.

2. KC takes CB Jesse Stewart. If he somehow fell to 5th, I was going up to get him.

3. The Bengals take Burkett.

4. Houston takes McSwain.

5. Atlanta takes the top WR in the draft.

7. Tampa Bay takes Conners.

I wasn't planning on taking another DE in this draft and definitely none this high. but Barry Locklear has elite speed with good size and I think he'll be a double digit sack guy. I take him with the 1.32 spot.

2(32) - WR Leonard Hancock is a project as he is very raw, but he great size, very good speed, agility, and strength.

3(32) - CB Earl McCreary is a good locker room presence from what I've heard and our staff thinks he is very underrated. Strictly a scout based pick.

4(32) - ILB Calvin Samuels has 4.55 speed and is very smart. A good project player.

5(32) - OLB Korey Whiting has 4.57 speed and good agility. Another project player.

6(32) - C Conrad Lewinsky has a very bad 40 time, but he had a great strength and good agility drill. Likely will be our primary backup at C.

7(32) G Rod Dennis has good strength.

A look at pre and post camp of my guys and the 5 can't miss guys:

1. Carolina QB Zack 33/93, 43/88. Despite the drop in potential, he looks like a future perpetual 1st team QB.
2. KC CB Stewart 55/90 - 63/89. He looks like he may have every bar maxed except for his return bars which are both near 0. 100 endurance and special team ability as well. I wish I had pulled the trigger on trading up for him..
3. Bengals' DT Burkett 51/83, 51/83 - Interesting training camp. Despite that, he looks like a monster.
4. Houston's ILB McSwain 35/60, 43/66 - He'll be a leading tackler.
5. TB's T Connors 32/84, 33/86. All pro tackle in a few years.

My picks:

1. DE Barry Locklear 24/53, 30/53. This guy looks like he'll be a double digit sack guy still. He'll start this year and take his lumps.
2. WR Leonard Hancock 23/44, 27/49. I think he is a future starter. Will get time in 4 and 5 WR sets this year.
3. CB Earl McCreary 18/31, 23/39. Looks like he'll be a solid dime back and maybe more in the future.
4. ILB Calvin Samuels 17/36, 21/40. He's going to get a bit of Playing time to see what he can develop into.
5. OLB Korey Whiting 15/23, 20/30. Big gain means he'll get some Playing time this year as a reserve.
6. C Conrad Lewinsky 19/41, 21/37. He'll stick this year, but not for long I suspect.
7. G Rod Dennis 15/21, 17/23. The post camp gains give me a bit of hope.

McNabb battled injuries this year and they finally knocked him out for the last game after slowing him all year. He may miss our first playoff game.

Edit: Nevermind, at 10-6 we miss the playoffs for the first time in a long time. The Rams and Chicago each got the WC at 11-5.

Our offense really struggled when he was knocked out and hurt:

Darren McFadden with 3 rushing TD's to lead the Packers in a 21-9 win over Tennessee in the Super Bowl.

None of our players made any award teams.

No one retired, but we are in some cap trouble and will have trouble bringing back Holt. We need to clear some serious cap space and Stewart wants a huge contract that I don't think his talent is good enough to earn. I'm going to look to trade him.

Key Losses: WR T.J (release due to cap issues/declining skills), MLB James Bradie (cap release), WR Torry Holt (2 years for 14 million to Minnesota - I couldn't match that), WR Warren Gordon (FA to Seattle.)

FA-2 Pickups T Sam Baker (gotta get a USC guy) and DT Kyle Williams.

Draft: Wow, another franchise QB and while I could understand Carolina passing on him, Detroit also passed on him and they do not have a young quality QB. He falls to 1.3 where Jacksonville gets him.

I may regret this, but I trade RB Jonathan Stewart (due to his crazy contract demands), my 1st this year, my 3rd this year, and my 3rd next year to move up 11 spots to grab the #1 WR in the draft. He isn't a can't miss, but he is the clear best WR in this draft.

1.13 WR Eugene Strickland - great size at 6'2" 210, 4.38 speed, elite agility, and a 65 position drill.

56. S Vince Gardner has size and quadruple red combines. My scout thinks he is overrated. I think the combines don't lie. If he pans out, I'll trade/cut Alex.

120. RB James Earle has a great 40 time and should be a nice breakaway threat while backing up Maurice Jones-Drew.

My guys pre/post camp:

1. WR Strickland 33/57, 37/56; Looks like I might kick myself for moving up for him..
2. SS Gardner 25/59, 29/58; Just a combine warrior?
4. RB Earle 31/41, 34/41; Looks like a good home run threat.
5. WR Fernando Fravert 21/31, 22/31
6. C Archie Dormis 24/38, 28/37
7. RT Quinn Rogers 10/20, 12/22.

Thoughts. Bad that right after I trade Stewart, MJD has an offseason ratings hit. Smith is holding up nicely. He should be the #1 target this year, and I'm finally taking him off returns to keep his stamina up. Osi is showing his age, but Barry should be ready to step up some. Gene and Daymeion are going to be a very solid pair of corners for me for a few more years. Next year's cap is a already a mess..

Preseason:

Eugene had a huge preseason, catching 6 TD's! Imoh won the starting job. His homerun ability is too much to keep off the field. Donovan was hurt on the 1st play of the last pre-season game. He'll miss 2-3 weeks. CB Frank Conley keeps creeping fast, he'll get some time as a dime back.

Week 1: Despite being the backup SE, Eugene catches 2 TD's passes from Shockley as we upset the Cowboys 33-9! Shockley was 20 of 32 for 245 yards with 3 TD's and 1 INT. Imoh was held to 37 yards on 16 carries.

Week 2: Shockley gets knocked out of the game early and Troy Smith has to come in. We get beat by Buffalo 30-19 as Smith struggles.

Week 3: Donovan with a triumphant return for 304 yards and 3 TD's. Imoh with his first 100 yard game. We beat Chicago 47-20.

Week 5: We beat a previously undefeated Seattle team, 19-14.

Week 6: Gates with only 1 catch, but it is a 44 yard TD to give us the 26-20 win over Arizona. Smith had a 6 yard TD run this game as well.

Week 7: Eugene, Smith, and Schmitt each have a touchdown reception in a 27-17 win over Washington. Eugene appears to be a great red zone player.

Week 8: We beat the Giants 31-9 as McNabb throws 2 more TD's.

Week 9: Eugene with his first 100 plus yard day. He had a 84 yard TD early in the game and finished with 4 catches for 124 yards and a TD. We beat the Rams 31-13.

Week 10: Donovan with a costly interception late and we get beat 24-17 by SF despite a pair of TD receptions by Smith.

Week 11: Donovan throws 3 picks, but he also throws 2 TD's, the 2nd of which is the winning TD. We beat Dallas 27-22.

Week 12: Donovan with a last second TD to Gates to beat Miami 24-23. Brian Brohm had a big game against us with 351 yards.

Week 13: Atlanta gets tremendous pressure on McNabb and holds him to 19 of 38 as they beat us 20-10.

Week 14: Imoh with 111 yards on 20 carries and a TD as we beat the Jets 30-10.

Week 15: A show down for the division as we and Washington are both 10-3. Akers with a FG late in the 4th to give us the 20-17 win.

Week 16: A big game against 11-3 NE. We beat them 37-16. Both of my young receivers had big TD catches, Eugene with a 48 yard TD catch early and Leonard Hancock followed it with a 76 yard TD catch.

Week 17: McNabb with TD passes to 4 different receivers as we beat the Giants 38-20 to end the season.

We end the year 13-3 and get the #1 seed.

On defense, I was most impressed with Gene and Locklear.

SS Darkins is out for the playoffs. Kenny Phillips will step into the starting lineup.

Wow. In the Divisional Round, Eugene catches all 4 of McNabb's TD passes to lead us in a 35-10 win over Detroit. He finished with 6 catches for 95 yards and 4 TD's. I guess I don't regret that trade at all now

No! Steve Smith was hurt in the game and is possibly done for the rest of the playoffs. We also lost our best guard for the rest of the playoffs.

Eugene will actually start the rest of the playoffs with Braylon sliding over to FL.

In the NFC conference game, it is our ground game that controls the flow. Imoh breaks off a 26 yard TD early. Then, Earle breaks off a 57 yard TD. They each get over 100 yards, McNabb throws for 250 and a TD and we beat Seattle 37-12 in the NFC Championship game.

Smith is going to make an attempt to play in the Super Bowl!

We'll be playing Tennessee in the Super Bowl as they beat the Patriots 20-14.

The Titans are led by A.J. Feeley who is an average to good QB in this universe. Yvenson Bernard is a very good running back who had over 1400 yards this year. They have 4 solid but unspectacular WR's. Their offensive line is excellent and is led by LT Harvey Logan. Their defensive front 7 is loaded with very good players including star LB Shawne Merriman. Leon Hall leads a solid but unspectacular secondary.

Our first drive starts off well with Imoh getting 2 first downs, but we stall right around the 50 as Josh Bullocks knocks down a 3rd won pass.

Tennessee works it down the field with a combination of short passes and runs by Bernard who finishes the drive with a 4 yard TD run. That was a 13 play 79 yard drive for the touchdown.

Braylon gets us going with a 30 yard reception. Eugene with a 12 yard reception on 3rd and 8. Imoh with a 12 yard run. Gates with a 15 yard catch. Earle runs it in from the 4! Tied at 7.

Odell Thurman with a sack to force 2nd and 17 early in their next drive and they fail to pick up the yardage. A very long punt for a touchback.

We exchange short failed drives.

Our next drive, Eugene with a 12 yard catch on 3rd and 7 to get us to our 37. Leonard with a 12 yard catch on 3rd and 5. A sack by Merriman puts us into 3rd and 16. McNabb looks left, comes back to his right and throws it deep for Leonard.. it is picked off by DeAndre Jackson. He returns it to their 40.

Our defense forces a 3 and out, but a 56 yard punt pins us on our 3.

First play is a PA pass to Leonard for 35 yards. Next play is a 12 yard pass to Keller across the middle, he is popped hard, and fumbles it. They recover. SS Sabby Piscitelli caused and recovered the fumble.

Our defense holds them to only a 12 yard drive. They punt it to our 1. We gain a yard and let the clock run out on the half.

Tied at 7 at halftime.

Troy Williamson with a 18 yard catch, but that is the only first down we allow on their first drive of the 2nd half. James Heinlein with another great punt. We start on our 7.

On 3rd and 5, Smith catches it for 8 yards. That is our only 1st as we punt from inside our 20. Our defense forces a 3 and out. We start on our 28 as we finally got to return a punt for a few yards.

Imoh runs for 7. Imoh runs for 2. Imoh is stuffed. We punt.. but Sepulveda's punt is blocked! It bounces back towards the end zone.. Neil Peterson picks it up and runs it in for a TD for Tennessee!

Imoh with a good kickoff return. We start on our 41. Imoh with a 10 yard run. Braylon drops a 1st down pass. Gates drops a 2nd down pass. Luis Castillo sacks Donovan. The punt is a touchback.

We exchange short failed drives to end the 3rd.

Early in the 4th, Ko Simpson drills Bernard and he fumbles it at their 43. LB Derrick Johnson picks it up for us and runs it to their 14 before he is tackled!

3 yard pass to Leonard. Braylon drops it in the end zone. McNabb is chased by Merriman, he scrambles to his right, he turns it up field.. he dives.. and is a yard short. We debate going for it, but we kick the short FG. Down 14-10.

On 3rd and 10, they throw a screen to Bernard for 11 yards. We get them into 3rd and 8 and throw a slant to Williamson, but Kenny Phillips picks it off, gets a block, gets to the outside and returns it 41 yards for a TD!!! We lead 17-14 with 9 minutes left.

They get 1 first down, but we stop them on 3rd and 10 as Ko Simpson defends a pass intended for their #2 WR.

We are on our 17 with 7 minutes left.

Imoh with a 18 yard run to start the drive. Imoh is stuffed on his next run. Smith drops a 2nd down pass. Smith drops a 3rd down pass. His injury is bothering him. We punt to their 24.

1 yard run. Feeley to Dallas Clark for a 9 yard gain. Earl McCreary defends the next pass. Terrance Kinney with pressure forces a bad pass. Feeley throws to his FB, but Odell tackles the FB 5 yards short. They punt with 3 minutes left.

First play, we call a PA pass to Gates for a 9 yard gain. They stuff Imoh on 2nd down. On 3rd down, Earle runs it inside the left tackle for a 13 yard gain! 2 minute warning.

Imoh runs for 1. Imoh is stuffed at the line. Earle runs it for 1. We punt with 47 seconds left. A short punt has them at their 29.

Kyle Williams chases Feeley and he throws it poorly. Kenny Phillips crushes Dallas Baker on 2nd down and he drops the pass. Feeley throws a slant and is it knocked down by Derrick Johnson. On 4th down with 10 seconds left, Feeley throws it deep and the "little creeper that could" Frank Conley knocks it down!

McNabb takes a knee and we celebrate another Super Bowl win, 17-14!

S Kenny Phillips wins MVP of the Super Bowl.

DT Kyle Williams was 2nd team as was G Trent Booker.

Not looking forward to going through more cap hell. McNabb's huge contract really hits the old salary cap.

Retirements: G Jumbo Stokes (unexpected.) I'm surprised Steve didn't hang them up yet, but happy that he didn't. I'll do the rest of the offseason later today.
