Yikes. That changes the NBA landscape dramatically next year.

No matter what team it happens to be, back to back games with superstars (or people playing like one) tearing ACLs is a serious you gotta be kidding me.

Congrats to the Raptors; such a good team, and unfortunate that people will use the Warriors' injuries as a bit of a narrative.

That being said, ugh those injuries. What a horrible end of the season, and potentially the Dynasty. Just feel horrid for Klay and Durant; right before free agency for them, and they gave everything they had. Pretty gutty performance for a team down the majority of its firepower to continue to hang with one of the best teams in the league essentially at full strength. Losing in the Finals is never easy, but this Toronto team is difficult to dislike, and the effort the Warriors put out even in - especially in - a losing effort lessens the sting quite a bit.

Loved him at UNLV and am glad he's actually found a niche as a role player in the NBA unlike the dumbasses who left way too early (literally everyone else recently)

Warriors likely losing Boogie/Looney and KD/Klay to miss large amounts of the season. Livingston was talking about retiring. So you're starting Curry/?/Iggy/Draymond/? That team will struggle to make the playoffs.

This is the perfect time for a video game tank season. Re-sign Klay, KD if you can, tank, and come back in two years even better than you were before.

The New Orleans Pelicans have agreed to a deal to trade Anthony Davis to the Los Angeles Lakers for Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart, and three first-round picks -- including the No. 4 overall in 2019 Draft, league sources tell ESPN.

Not a big fan of Ball or Ingram, but this is probably the best deal out there unless the Celtics were willing to give up Tatum.

Normally, when you trade a superstar in the NBA, you get 75 cents on the dollar.

I think that the Pels got 85 cents on the dollar for Davis, so in that sense, it was a good trade for them.

You will still go broke, of course, trading dollars for cents, so this isn't a winning strategy over the long term. But considering that they had to trade him after the shitshow at the end of last season, they got a not-horrible return.

dola: And this was good for the Lakers, of course. You've got some small window of LeBron's prime left. You do what you need to do to be a title contender during that time, and if you trade away a bunch of young players and picks to do it? That's a problem for five years from now. Assuming that they get one more star in free agency (they probably already have a handshake deal for one), they did what they needed to do to put the pieces around their superstar for one last run.
