Heroes of the Gridiron - TCY/FOF

This dynasty will track the fortunes of 5 of the best high school players in the land as they make their way towards the NFL. The legendary "5 Great Men" dynasties hooked me on the format, and I want a break from my Average Joes to some really great players. I will try to give weekly updates and some details about their individual schools. If you have a favorite school let me know and I'll track them in the dynasty as well, we're starting in 2018 so there's a good bit of history already in the books.

Ralph Sawyer, 5'11" 207 RB - Northeast HS, Oakland Park, FL

Ralph looks like a dominant running back, as should be expected from the #2 ranked player in the country. Even my lousy scout grades him 93/100 and he's probably better than that. His high school has prepared him well for college success on the field (88) and he's smart as well, with a 3.29 GPA and an interest in Computer Game Design. In fact he strongly believes academics is the most important part of his college choice, along with closeness to home! Ralph has absolutely destroyed enemy defenses this year, in only 4 games he has 124 carries for 978 yards and 9 touchdowns. He's also caught 26 balls for 490 more yards and 3 more scores. Almost 1500 yards total offense in 4 games, wow!

Clyde Barrett, 6'0" 226 DE - Casa Grande Union High, Casa Grande, AZ

Clyde is the #1 ranked player in the country this year, and is about as good as a defensive end can be out of high school. My fair scout puts him at 100/100, and his high school has prepared him well (81.) Clyde is a good student, with a 3.57 GPA and 1202 test, and wants a school that's academically strong and prestigious. In 4 games for his school Clyde has 29 tackles, 6.5 sacks, and an interception.

Roosevelt Brock, 5'9" 205 OLB - Marion County HS, Jasper, TN

Roosevelt is a very good player who may be hampered at higher levels by his lack of height, but is a pocket rocket on the field. He is the 9th ranked player in the country this year, and scouted at 96/100 by our very good scout. He struggles in school, with a 2.7 GPA and 887 test, and wants to major in Geology. He wants to remain close to home but attend a school that is not too weak academically. Roose, as he is known, gets it done in a big way on the field, and in 4 games has 55 tackles, 4.5 sacks and 2 interceptions.

Eric Catalfamo, 6'2" 210 QB - Gloucester HS, Gloucester, VA

Eric is the 3rd best HS player in the country this year and the best QB. Our good scout grades him 81/100, and he looks like a great player, despite his modest performance so far this year. He is 28-46 for 538 yards in 4 games, with 3 TDs and one interception. He's done a lot with his feet though, rushing 61 times for 425 yards and 7 scores. Eric is very smart (3.48, 1309) and wants to attend a close, academically strong school.

Mercury Radke, 6'1" 259 DT - Springfield HS, Holland, OH

Mercury is already huge enough to BE his schools' whole defensive line, and is the 8th best player in the country, and the best DT. Our fair scout puts him at 84/100, with good school preparation (86.) Mercury is a good student, with a 3.32 GPA, and is interested in Education. He's interested in a school with a solid academic base that is fairly close. On the field Mercury has 32 tackles and 6 sacks in 4 games.

2018 Season

The year is 2018 as our players enter the recruiting season. The past few years have been dominated by one school, Notre Dame. The Irish built slowly, having success for many years but in the last few they have exploded, and last year won their third straight national title and 4th in 5 years. Can anyone slow them down? Or will some of our players join their freight train? Texas has the overall best record of the past 14 seasons, going 154-23 and making a bowl appearance every year, including a title win in 2013. Penn State has also been a strong team, recording 2 championships and losing last year's title match to ND.

Week 1

Penn State - Wisconsin - Virginia - Maryland - Syracuse top 5

Our players are the blue chip recruits and should be deluged by schools very early.

Ralph Sawyer Ralph receives no less than 5 scholarship offers this week, from Florida State, Illinois, Miami of Ohio, Notre Dame, and Syracuse. The last two are the best academically but are far away. Florida State has a joke of an academic program in Ralph's major, a 15 rating won't cut it here.

Ralph gives the swarming scouts an eyeful this week, rushing 38 times for 344 yards and 3 touchdowns. He adds 4-74-1 receiving. Quite an impressive week.

Clyde Barrett Clyde is given offers right off the bat to Penn State and Illinois, with Texas making contact. Given his academic desires, Penn State or Texas would be great choices.

Clyde has 7 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and an interception this week, giving the many scouts something to see.

Roosevelt Brock Roose goes uncontacted this week. Perhaps his uncertain grades are keeping schools at bay, they don't want to waste a lot of effort on someone who won't qualify. His phone will start ringing soon enough.

Plenty of scouts are watching him record 10 tackles, 2 sacks, and 2 interceptions this week though.

Eric Catalfamo Eric gets offers from Virginia and Wisconsin this week, and immediately visits Virginia! His home state school looks very tempting, as it is close and is solid academically. The Cavs would certainly be delighted with this signing!

Eric throws sparingly in this game, going 6-12 for 80 yards. On his feet he rushes 19 times for 119 yards and a touchdown.

Mercury Radke Mercury receives an offer from Miami of Ohio and is considering it. Miami of Ohio is not "that other Miami" now, they have built a strong program and are 10th in overall record over the last 14 years, with 12 bowl appearances. In fact Miami of Florida has completed disintegrated and is not even a name school anymore, with only 6 bowl appearances and a losing record overall.

He records 11 tackles and 1.5 sacks this week.

Week 2

Wisconsin - Penn State - Notre Dame - Syracuse - North Texas top 5

Ralph Sawyer Ralph has 6 offers active, and is already visiting Notre Dame and Stanford. He is considering offers from Syracuse, Miami of Ohio, Illinois, and Florida State. I'd gamble on Notre Dame being his most tempting offer right now.

Ralph continues his dominance of Florida high school football, with 38 carries for 282 yards and 3 touchdowns, adding 7 receptions for 123 more yards and 2 more TDs. In 6 games he has rushed 200 times for 1604 yards and 15 touchdowns, and has 37 catches for 687 yards and 5 scores receiving. Dominant is the only word I can use.

Clyde Barrett Clyde's plate is now full with offers, from Illinois, Penn State, Texas, Texas A&M, and UTEP. He is considering them all. Texas and Penn State look like the best two for him.

Clyde records 13 tackles and a sack this week, showing what a dominating run defender he can be. In 6 games he has 49 tackles, 9 sacks, and 2 interceptions.

Roosevelt Brock Brock's phone starts ringing this week, with offers from Syracuse, Notre Dame, Central Florida, and Northern Illinois. He is considering all of them, but the Irish offer has to be very tempting for him. All of the offers are solid and the latter two teams have built impressive programs over the years.

Roose had 10 tackles in his game this week, bringing his 6 game total to 75 tackles, 6.5 sacks and 4 interceptions.

Eric Catalfamo Eric is still visiting Virginia and considering Wisconsin. A commitment to Virginia seems likely.

Eric continues to do more with his legs than his arm for his option-oriented high school team. Throwing he was 7-13 this week for 148 yards and a touchdown. He ran 15 times for 107 yards and a score. In 6 games throwing he is 41-74 for 766 yards, with 4 TDs and one interception. Running he has 95 carries for 651 yards and 9 scores.

Mercury Radke Mercury is considering Miami of Ohio and a new offer from Northwestern. He has been contacted by Pittsburgh as well.

Mercury had 6 tackles and a sack this week, bringing his 6 game total to 49 tackles and 8.5 sacks.

Week 3

Penn State - Syracuse - Wisconsin - Kansas State - Air Force top 5

Notre Dame suffers a big loss at Michigan, 36-33! This is the first game they have lost since their 2014 Solecismic Bowl loss to Pittsburgh! Are cracks appearing in their armor?

Ralph Sawyer Ralph is still visiting Notre Dame and Stanford and considering the same offers as before. Will Ralph decide to go Irish and their strong tradition of producing Heisman winners?

Ralph has another fun week romping through opposing "defenses." He has 27 carries for 268 yards, and added 5 catches for 140 more yards and a score. On the year in 7 games he has 227 carries for 1872 yards and 15 TDs, and 42 receptions for 827 yards and 6 scores.

Clyde Barrett Clyde is now visiting Penn State, Texas, and California, with offers from several other schools. Cal has an excellent business program and is closer than the others, giving their lower prestige school a much needed edge.

Clyde has 13 tackles and a sack this week, in 7 games he has 62 tackles, 10 sacks, and 2 interceptions.

Roosevelt Brock Roosevelt is wasting no time in travelling to Notre Dame for a visit, who wouldn't be attracted by the charms of the country's top program? He adds offers from Wisconsin and Boise State this week.

Brock wows the scouts with a 16 tackle, 1 sack, 1 interception performance this week, bringing his 7 game total to 91 tackles, 7.5 sacks and 5 interceptions.

Eric Catalfamo Eric has decided to visit Wisconsin as well as Virginia, and receives an offer from Clemson as well this week.

He is 6-10 this week for 99 yards throwing, and 17 for 80 and 2 scores on the ground. Total in 7 games he has run 112 times for 731 yards and 11 scores, but only thrown 47-84 for 875 yards with 4 TDs and one interception. Let's hope his prospective schools know what kind of quarterback they'll be getting!

Mercury Radke Mercury hasn't decided to visit any schools yet, but has offers from Miami of Ohio, Northwestern, Ohio State, Pittsburgh, and SMU.

He had 6 tackles and a sack this week bringing his 7 game total to 55 tackles and 9.5 sacks.

Week 4

Washington - Penn State - North Texas - Texas - California top 5

Notre Dame recovers from their loss with a 76-6 mauling of Purdue this week.

Ralph Sawyer Ralph is still visiting Notre Dame and Stanford and will likely commit to one of those schools. Both are academically very strong but Stanford is much farther away.

Ralph runs 25 times this week for 160 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also has 7 catches for 100 yards and 2 more scores, providing his schools total offense for the game. In 8 games he has run 252 times for 2032 yards and 18 touchdowns, and caught 49 passes for 927 yards and 9 more scores.

Clyde Barrett Clyde is visiting Texas, California, and Penn State still, with several other offers on the table.

Clyde records 8 tackles and a sack this week to bring his 8 game totals to 70 tackles, 11 sacks, and 2 interceptions.

Roosevelt Brock Roose is still just visiting Notre Dame despite several other offers. Will he commit soon or try his luck elsewhere?

He has an impressive 16 tackle, 1 interception performance this week, making his 8 game totals 107 tackles, 7.5 sacks and 6 picks.

Eric Catalfamo Eric is still visiting Virginia and Wisconsin.

Eric throws 7-13 this week for 86 yards, but 3 touchdowns! He runs 13 times for 51 yards and 2 more scores. His yearly rushing total is 125-782-13 and passing, 54-97 for 961, 7 and 1.

Mercury Radke Mercury is paying a visit to Texas this week, and still has his piles of offers.

He had 12 tackles this game, bringing his total to 67 tackles and 9.5 sacks.

Week 5

Washington - Texas - Penn State - North Texas - Syracuse top 5

Ralph Sawyer Ralph surprises everyone and commits to Syracuse at the last minute! Apparently he was keeping his choice of schools mum and was said to comment that he didn't want to be one of 7 top running backs for Notre Dame. He is named to Florida's All-State team.

Ralph's season comes to an end this week, but it was an impressive one, his final rushing stats were 274 for 2176 and 19 touchdowns, with 55 receptions for 1033 yards and 9 more scores.

Clyde Barrett Clyde commits to Texas this week! He is also named to the Arizona All-State team.

Clyde finishes the year with 77 tackles, 13.5 sacks, and 2 interceptions.

Roosevelt Brock Roosevelt is still visiting only Notre Dame. Will he pull the Sawyer switch or commit to the Irish? Roose is named to Tennessee's All-State team.

He finishes his year with 115 tackles, 7.5 sacks and 7 interceptions.

Eric Catalfamo Eric is still honed in on Virginia and Wisconsin, surely he will commit to one of them soon! He is named to Virginia's All-State team.

Eric finishes the year with minimal throwing stats, only 62-113 for 1095 yards, with 9 touchdowns and 1 interception. On the ground though he was 138 for 885 with 14 scores.

Mercury Radke Mercury is still visiting Texas, and now is visiting Miami of Ohio. He is named to Ohio's All-State team.

Mercury finishes his year with 79 tackles and 9.5 sacks.

Week 6

Washington - Texas - Penn State - Syracuse - California top 5

Ralph Sawyer Ralph has committed to Syracuse.

Clyde Barrett Clyde has committed to Texas.

Roosevelt Brock Roosevelt remains the last of our players uncommitted, he is visiting Notre Dame and Wisconsin and has several other top tier offers.

Eric Catalfamo Eric, to no one's great surprise, commits to Virginia!

Mercury Radke Mercury makes up his mind and commits to Miami of Ohio!

Week 7

Syracuse - Penn State - Stanford - Texas - UTEP top 5

Stanford downs Washington to knock them out of the top 5. Notre Dame keeps climbing the ranks, their only tough games this season were their first 2.

Ralph Sawyer committed to Syracuse

Clyde Barrett committed to Texas

Roosevelt Brock Brock pulls a last minute switcharoo and gives up on his visited schools, and instead signs with Central Florida!

Eric Catalfamo committed to Virginia

Mercury Radke committed to Miami of Ohio.

2018 Season End

With all our players committed, I will skip to the end of the year. Texas finished the year as #1 and Penn State #2, but the Nittany Lions trashed the Longhorns in the title game 48-3. Ouch that has to hurt for Texas. Notre Dame finished the year 11-1 and trashed Air Force in the Sugar Bowl for a second place finish. The Heisman went to Stanford QB Wade Grey, who barely edged by 3 votes Notre Dame's all-world QB Clay Reese who had already won the award twice.

Texas-El Paso is 148-43 overall, and is working on a 12 year bowl appearance streak, in the last three years they've beaten Iowa, Michigan State, and Northern Illinois in bowls. Their prestige is 85, not bad!

Ralph Sawyer Ralph will redshirt this year at Syracuse. It will be murderous competition at the RB position, as the Orangemen currently have no less than 9 RBs on the roster, the worst of which is scouted 47/47. Ralph himself is graded 48/66, though by a lousy scout. There is a TON of talent at RB for this Syracuse team, so Ralph will have to fight for any playing time at all. Syracuse is a top program, they have a 135-44 record overall and are 10-4 in bowl appearances.

Clyde Barrett Clyde will redshirt this year, and our decent scout grades him 37/100 right now. The Longhorns have two graduating DEs so he should have a spot next year. Texas was humiliated in the title game last year and can't wait for some revenge this season. They are 166-24 in total record, best in the country, and 10-5 in bowls, but have now lost their last two title game appearances.

Roosevelt Brock Roose will red-shirt this year, and our good scout grades him 42/100, he will be a monster next year. Central Florida has built up an impressive resume, as they have the 5th best record of all teams so far, at 145-39, and are 7-5 in bowl appearances. They dominated the MAC last year thanks to a strong running game and finished 11-2.

Eric Catalfamo Eric will be red-shirted this year, and our decent scout grades him 18/100. He should move into an immediate starting role after that as the Cavaliers are thin at QB. Virginia is the weakest, record wise, of all the teams our players joined, and they aren't that weak, with a 122-56 overall record and 7-6 in bowls. They won the ACC easily last year and finished 11-2.

Mercury Radke Mercury will redshirt this season, but our fair scout grades him 28/100, and if he improves this year he should be an almost guaranteed starter next season, as Miami's best DT is graduating this year. Miami of Ohio is 141-42 overall and 8-5 in bowl games, though they haven't managed a title shot.

2019 Season End

With all of our players wearing red or not doing much, I'll again skip to the end. Texas got their revenge, going to the title game against North Texas and winning 24-21! Too bad Clyde Barrett wasn't able to help them win the championship! Notre Dame really slumped this year, finishing 7-4 and then losing to upstart Northern Illinois in their bowl game.

Ralph Sawyer Ralph was redshirted all year.

Clyde Barrett Clyde's redshirt was lifted by Texas so he could appear in 11 plays of one game and not record any stats. Nice going, guys.

Roosevelt Brock Central Florida lifted Roose's redshirt, but he only played in 3 games and didn't even record a tackle. Apparently a year of his eligibility was wasted so he could play on special teams? He wasn't happy.

Eric Catalfamo Eric stayed out all year under the redshirt.

Mercury Radke Mercury was redshirted all year.

Preseason Polls

Notre Dame

Ralph Sawyer, 5'11" 223 Redshirt Freshman RB - Syracuse

Our excellent scout rates Ralph at 69/80, obviously he thrived in the heavy weightroom and practice atmosphere of Syracuse. Unfortunately they are so deep with backs right now that Ralph is probably the third best on the roster. He may get some backup time but I think he will need to be patient and let some of the backlog ahead of him clear out to get a better shot. Syracuse finished a very disappointing 6-6 last year and really needs to play better with the quality of players they have.

Clyde Barrett, 6'0" 240 Sophomore DE - Texas

Our excellent scout rates Clyde 43/75 right now. This is disappointing for the #1 player in the country but should be plenty to land him a starting job on Texas' thin defensive line this year. They were 12-1 and won the national title last year.

Roosevelt Brock, 5'9" 217 Sophomore OLB - Central Florida

Roosevelt has his redshirt flag put back on this year, will it stay there? Our terrific scout grades him as 38/100, the sky's the limit as far as potential here. Central Florida finished 10-3 with a nice bowl win, but a disappointing 3rd in the MAC-North, losing a critical game to Miami of Ohio.

Eric Catalfamo, 6'2" 225 Redshirt Freshman QB - Virginia

Our scout in the area is very good, and places Eric at 35/66 this season. He's the best option at QB and should definitely start. Virginia finished 7-5 last year and 7th in the ACC, they are definitely looking to improve on that performance this year.

Mercury Radke, 6'1" 285 Redshirt Freshman DT - Miami of Ohio

Mercury is scouted by our excellent scout and rated 58/81, very impressive development for a first year player. Miami has a ton of DTs on the roster but Mercury is already the best, so he should start. Miami finished 9-2 last year and won the MAC, and is looking for another strong season this year.

2020 Week 1

Penn State - Pittsburgh - Stanford - Northwestern - Maryland top 5

Ralph Sawyer Syracuse plays Navy this week, and loses 30-20. This is the kind of game that led to their 6-6 finish last year. They should have dominated a weaker Navy squad but instead Navy controlled the 4th quarter and kept them from scoring in the last 20+ minutes. Ralph didn't see the field for this one.

Clyde Barrett off this week

Roosevelt Brock off this week

Eric Catalfamo off this week

Mercury Radke Miami of Ohio faces off against Indiana this week, and are heavy favorites. It quickly turns into a rout, and Miami never looks back, winning 55-13. Mercury records 3 tackles and his first college sack in the game.

2020 Week 2

Notre Dame - Pittsburgh - Wisconsin - Stanford - Miami of Ohio top 5

Ralph Sawyer Syracuse (0-1) got into the win column this week against Auburn at home. It was a tough fought battle though, and ended only 14-6. Ralph made his first college appearance this week, but only for 3 rushes good for 6 yards. The Orange had no rushing attack at all this week, stopped by Auburn's potent defense.

Clyde Barrett Clemson came calling to Texas to start the Longhorns season, and the defending national champions were ready, kicking the Tigers home with a 35-14 loss to take with them. Clyde had a nice game, recording 4 tackles and a sack in the start.

Roosevelt Brock Hawaii comes to visit Central Florida (0-0) in front of a rowdy home crowd of 75,400. Can a game be over before it started? This one sure was. 69-10 Central Florida, including 6 rushing TDs. Roose is redshirted this year.

Eric Catalfamo off this week

Mercury Radke Miami of Ohio (1-0) travelled to Cincinnati this week, to take on another outmatched foe. They cruised to the win, 35-7. Mercury finished the game with 1 tackle and 1 assist. Unfortunately he is not starting this year, but is getting a good amount of backup time.

2020 Week 3

Notre Dame - Wisconsin - Pittsburgh - Northwestern - Tulane top 5

Ralph Sawyer Syracuse (1-1) travelled to Knoxville to face the always tough Tennessee Volunteers. It was a back and forth game but the Vols came away with it, beating Syracuse 34-28. Ralph didn't see the field in this one.

Clyde Barrett Texas (1-0) continued their ACC schedule by travelling to Chapel Hill to play North Carolina, before a mighty crowd of 6,900 in terrible wet weather. UNC gave Texas a lot more trouble than was expected, but was finally subdued 35-30. Texas hasn't seeemed dominant in either of their games and whispers are spreading that there may have been too many starter losses from last year's team. Clyde had another solid game, recording 2 tackles, an assist, and a sack.

Roosevelt Brock Central Florida (1-0) travelled to Temple and squashed them 48-0. Roose did not play of course.

Eric Catalfamo South Carolina travelled to Virginia this week as the Cavs start their season off. Virginia had the game in hand and took the victory, 26-14. Eric had an impressive start to his college career, throwing 30-42 for 361 yards, with 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions.

2020 Week 4

Pittsburgh - Wisconsin - Notre Dame - Tulane - Vanderbilt top 5

Ralph Sawyer off this week

Clyde Barrett off this week

Roosevelt Brock Arkansas travelled to Central Florida (2-0) and received their beating, 49-13. Too bad Brock isn't playing, he's missing some easy wins.

Eric Catalfamo Virginia (1-0) faced Rutgers at home this week, and it was over fast, as the Cavs rolled, 44-0. Eric was named Player of the Game for his performance, 19-31 for 244 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Mercury Radke Miami of Ohio (2-0) faced a real challenge this week in a very tough Washington team. They weren't up to the challenge as the Huskies controlled this one for a 20-7 win. Mercury had 2 tackles and an assist in the game.

2020 Week 5

Wisconsin - Pittsburgh - Notre Dame - Texas - Tennessee top 5

Ralph Sawyer Rutgers travelled to Syracuse (1-2) this week, and the Orange ran away with it, 27-7. Ralph saw one carry for 0 yards in the game, but watched as RB Ingram tore Rutgers up for 126 yards and a score.

Clyde Barrett Texas went on the road to Nebraska this week and quieted the rumors by dominating the Huskers, 35-7. Nebraska scored early and then was never in the game. Clyde came through with a huge game, getting all kinds of pressure and recording 5 tackles and 2.5 sacks!

Roosevelt Brock Central Florida (3-0) hosted Western Michigan and played their closest game yet, a 28-3 victory.

Eric Catalfamo Virginia (2-0) travelled to Clemson with a lot of confidence, unfortunately they were no match for an angry Tigers team with a home crowd at their backs, and were routed 52-21 in an ugly game. Eric threw 6 interceptions as he became rattled under the constant pressure, and he finished completing only 13 out of 30 passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns.

Mercury Radke Miami (2-1) hosted Ball State this week, and were ready for payback after last week's disappointing loss. It was fairly close for a while until Miami took over in the 4th quarter for the 38-21 win. Radke wasn't used much this game and only recorded an assist.

2020 Week 6

Pittsburgh - Washington - Notre Dame - Wisconsin - Northwestern top 5

Ralph Sawyer off this week

Clyde Barrett Colorado travelled to Austin, and a Texas (3-0) team with growing confidence ripped them apart, 59-14. The bad news was that Clyde was injured in training before the game, and will need arthroscopic knee surgery that will probably lose him for the rest of the year!

Roosevelt Brock Kent State travelled to Orlando this week to face Central Florida (4-0) and were ripped 41-10. Brock is really missing quite a season!

Eric Catalfamo North Carolina travelled to Virginia (2-1) this week like a lamb going to the slaughter. The Cavs showed no mercy in a 56-6 win, which helped wipe the taste of defeat out of their mouths. Virginia ran it down the Tar Heels throats, and Eric was 5-7 for 64 yards, with a touchdown and an interception when he was told to hit the showers. His backup Herb Sullivan came on to finish the job.

Mercury Radke Miami (3-1) hosted Akron, and took a 24-14 win that was closer than the score indicated. Mercury didn't get to play in this one at all.

2020 Week 7

Pittsburgh - Notre Dame - Wisconsin - Washington - Northwestern top 5

Ralph Sawyer Syracuse (2-2) travelled to #1 ranked Pittsburgh this week, hoping for a miracle. They didn't get one, losing 37-6. Ralph got 1 carry for 8 yards this week

On the year Ralph has an amazing 5 carries for 14 yards

Clyde Barrett Texas (4-0) travelled to Baylor and trashed them 41-3 in front of mostly empty seats. Clyde is injured and did not play.

Clyde has 11 tackles, 1 assist, and 4.5 sacks in 3 games. Unfortunately he will likely miss the rest of his promising season due to injury.

Roosevelt Brock Central Florida (5-0) played Ohio this week and blanked them 31-0 to continue their unbeaten run. Roosevelt has been redshirted all year.

Eric Catalfamo Virginia (3-1) travelled to College Park to take on Maryland this week. The Cavs won 26-13 and dominated the scoring in the second half. Eric played quite a good game, though he needs to get the interceptions under control. He threw 26-38 for 364 yards and 1 touchdown, 2 interceptions, and also ran in a 3 yard score.

2020 Week 8

Pittsburgh - Wisconsin - Tennessee - Northwestern - Texas top 5

Ralph Sawyer Syracuse (2-3) desperately needed a win this week to keep their season from falling apart, they got one as they travel to Boston College, notching a 48-34 win. Sawyer sat on the bench yet again.

Clyde Barrett off this week

Roosevelt Brock Central Florida (6-0) travelled to Ball State this week for another tailgate...err game, cruising 51-13. Their next game will likely be their toughest of the season, Miami of Ohio.

Eric Catalfamo Virginia (4-1) played host to Miami of Florida this week, and handled them with ease, 55-24. Eric was 22 of 31 for 183 yards, with 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions, he also ran another touchdown in. He seems to be doing well at running the Cavalier offense so far, they are certainly racking up the points.

Mercury Radke Miami (5-1) travelled to Ypsilanti this week to take on Eastern Michigan. Eastern got some good breaks against them and pounded them with their running game but it wasn't quite enough, as Miami took the victory 35-28. Mercury got some play in this one, recording 2 tackles and a sack.

2020 Week 9

Pittsburgh - Wisconsin - Texas - Tennessee - California top 5

Wisconsin is gaining on Pitt, and Texas is moving up as well.

Ralph Sawyer Syracuse (3-3) went to Temple this week thinking they had another easy win, but the Owls put together a dominating performance and sent the Orange packing 45-20. Syracuse just can't seem to get a consistent rhythm going this season. No play for Ralph in this one.

Clyde Barrett Texas (5-0) had Iowa State come into town, and routed them 48-0. They are looking more and more like last year's champions. Clyde is still hurt and is listed as 4 more weeks to go.

Roosevelt Brock see below

Eric Catalfamo off this week

Mercury Radke The big game was this week, as Central Florida (7-0) travelled to Oxford to face Miami of Ohio (6-1), a battle between the two titans of the MAC-North. For teams that have run up the score this year, it was a tough defensive struggle, with both teams straining to stop their opponents from getting any advantage. In the end the final score was Miami 16, Central Florida 10. Mercury had a tackle and half a sack in the game.

2020 Week 10

Pittsburgh - Wisconsin - Tennessee - Texas - California top 5

Ralph Sawyer Syracuse (3-4) hosted West Virginia, and easily dominated the weakened Mountaineer team, 42-6. Sawyer had one carry for 7 yards.

Clyde Barrett A rivalry game as Texas Tech travelled to Austin this week, but Texas (6-0) had no problems putting them away 30-13.

Roosevelt Brock Akron travelled to Central Florida (7-1), and catching them on the bounce after their big loss last week, beat them 24-16 on a fourth quarter rally.

Eric Catalfamo Virginia (5-1) travelled to Wake Forest this week and routed them 41-7 as Eric put on an offensive fireworks show. He torched the feeble Deacon secondary for 5 touchdowns, and finished up 21-36 for 322 yards, 5 TDs and 1 interception, earning him Player of the Game honors.

Mercury Radke Miami (7-1) played host to Marshall this week, and put them away in an easy 30-0 game. Most impressive was Bernard Hopper, who returned two interceptions for touchdowns. Radke managed an assist.

2020 Week 11

Tennessee - Wisconsin - Texas - Pittsburgh - Miami of Ohio top 5

The first time two of our teams are in the top 5! Pittsburgh is smacked down this week by Boston College, 49-24, dropping them a few spots.

Ralph Sawyer off this week

Clyde Barrett Sol 8 school Juneau made the LONG trip to Texas (6-0), and were greeted warmly with a 43-3 beating. Despite being doubtful due to his knee injury, Clyde sees a little playing time and records a tackle and an assist.

2020 Week 12

Tennessee - Pittsburgh - Wisconsin - Texas - Louisville top 5

Ralph Sawyer The second matchup between two of our teams this season, Virginia (7-1) came to Syracuse (4-4) for a game. Unfortunately the Orange just couldn't stop Eric Catalfamo, who rocked them for 5 touchdowns in a monster 25-34, 357 yard, 5 TD, 0 int game that won him Player of the Game honors.

Clyde Barrett Oklahoma State came to Austin to face Texas (8-0) and were sent packing 31-7. Clyde continued to play on his healing knee, and play well, recording a tackle, an assist, and a sack.

2020 Week 13

Ralph Sawyer Syracuse (4-5) needed a win this week just to finish out even, and they got one against Connecticut at home. The Orange rolled 48-25, with Sawyer getting 1 carry for 5 yards.

Clyde Barrett Texas (9-0) travelled to Oklahoma for the annual blood feud, and Sooners fans were delighted to give the Longhorns their first loss, 27-22 in a hard fought game. Clyde had 2 tackles and an assist.

Roosevelt Brock

Eric Catalfamo Virginia (8-1) taking on Georgia Tech was the Game of the Week this week, as it may decide who takes the ACC title. This wouldn't be a blowout, as Tech's stout defense and the rainy weather took away the Cavs passing game. Virginia won 17-6, sealing it with a 102 yard kickoff return for a touchdown late in the 4th quarter. Eric played well but was not spectacular, he was 22-34 for 203 yards.

Mercury Radke Miami (9-1) went to hapless Buffalo for their final game, smashing them 38-0 and locking up the MAC-North title. Radke recorded a tackle and an assist.

2020 Week 14

Tennessee - Pittsburgh - Wisconsin - Stanford - Air Force top 5

Miami of Ohio is #7 and Virginia is #10.

Ralph Sawyer Sitka of the Sol 8 came to Syracuse (5-5) for their final game, and the Orange made it look easy as they collected a 38-10 win to ensure a winning record for the year. Sawyer carried the ball once for no gain.

Clyde Barrett Texas (9-1) faced the Texas A&M Aggies on the road this year, still stinging from last week's loss to Oklahoma. This loss hurt even worse as the Aggies triumphed 28-20, knocking Texas out of the top 10. Clyde looked almost fully recovered as he had a great game, with 4 tackles, 3 assists, and a sack.

Roosevelt Brock finished for the year

Eric Catalfamo Virginia (9-1) faced Virginia Tech in both a rivalry game and the clincher for the ACC title. Eric marshalled the Cavalier offense to notch a hard fought 33--21 win to seal the ACC title for Virginia. He was 18-22 for 220 yards and a touchdown.

2020 Postseason

Pittsburgh and Tennessee will battle it out for the national title this year, but two of our teams will be playing in BCS bowls, Miami will face undefeated Wisconsin in the Sugar and Virginia will face Stanford in the Orange. Both should be very tough games. Texas is disappointed with their season ending losses, and will play Clemson in the Sun Bowl. Syracuse snags a bid against 10-1 Tulane in the Nor'easter Bowl. Central Florida will face North Texas in the Unrequited Love Bowl. All 5 of our teams made bowls this year!

Ralph Sawyer Syracuse face off against Tulane and start the game with a barrage of 1st quarter points, soon its become a laugher, as Syracuse romps 41-14. Sawyer doesn't see any play of course.

Clyde Barrett Texas had faced Clemson at the beginning of the year and beaten them fairly easily but in this bowl game it was a tooth and nail battle, which Texas won 33-28 only because they scored two touchdowns in the final 6 minutes. Barrett was a major presence, with 4 tackles, an assist, and 1.5 sacks.

Roosevelt Brock Central Florida faces North Texas in a game that looked lost, but a 4th quarter run put Central Florida on top 21-17.

Eric Catalfamo Virginia would face Stanford, who were favored by a field goal. It ended up being a shootout between Eric and Stanford QB Mickey Barlow, but in the end the Cavs came out on top, 41-38, winning on a last second field goal. People had seen Eric play but this was his first chance in front of a true national audience and he didn't disappoint, passing for 21-39 for 347 yards, with 4 touchdowns and 1 interception. His opponent Barlow put up very similar stats, though with 5 touchdowns.

Mercury Radke Miami is a good team, no doubt, but facing an undefeated Wisconsin team that was favored by over a touchdown was a tough task. The Badgers just shut down Miami's offense and left them nowhere to go but down, beating them 31-10. Radke got to play and recorded 4 tackles and 1 assist.

2020 Wrapup

All of our teams played in bowls, and 4 out of 5 won them! Tennessee defeated Pittsburgh 38-14 to win the national title! Stanford QB Mickey Barlow, Eric's opponent in the Sugar Bowl, won the Heisman.

Postseason poll:

Tennessee
Wisconsin
Air Force
Pittsburgh
Virginia
Stanford
Miami of Ohio
Penn State
Louisville
Washington

Ralph Sawyer As expected, Ralph didn't play much this year, managing a carry here and there. His final stats were, in 10 games played, 8 carries for 26 yards. Syracuse finished the season 6-5 and then beat Tulane in their post-season bowl. They finished 2nd to Pittsburgh in the Big East.

Clyde Barrett If Clyde hadn't lost several games to injury, he would have had an impressive year. As it was, he still did, but was limited. In 8 starts he had 23 tackles, 8 assists, 15 TFL and 8 sacks. His high TFL ratio shows the kind of penetration he was getting into opposing lines. Texas finished the regular season 9-2 and then defeated Clemson in the Sun Bowl. They finished second in the Big 12 - South.

Roosevelt Brock Roose was redshirted all year and didn't play. Central Florida finished 10-2 on the year and defeated North Texas in a postseason bowl.

Eric Catalfamo Eric was clearly the star of our players this year, he grabbed the starting spot, and except for one terrible game, looked good or great all season. His final stats in 12 starts were 244-375 for 3173 yards, with 27 TDs and 15 INT. He also ran in 3 more touchdowns during the season. Eric was named ACC Conference MVP, ACC Top Offensive Player, and ACC 1st Team QB! Virginia finished 11-1 and won the ACC title, then beat Stanford in the Sugar Bowl.

Mercury Radke Despite being in my opinion the best option at DT, Mercury was a backup for most of the year, starting in only one game and playing in 13. His final stats were 19 tackles, 8 assists, 7 TFL, and 3 sacks. Miami finished 11-1 in the regular season and won the MAC title, but lost to Wisconsin in the Orange Bowl.

2021 Season Start

Ralph Sawyer, 5'11" 223 Redshirt Sophomore RB - Syracuse

Our excellent scout grades Ralph at 77/80 this year, he has really blossomed into his talent. Of course he still has a lot of competition at Syracuse but by the numbers he is the best RB they have right now. I hope he will get a chance to start.

Clyde Barrett, 6'0" 245 Junior DE - Texas

Our excellent scout grades Clyde at 58/75, and I think he will have a chance to improve on last season. He's definitely the best DE Texas has.

Roosevelt Brock, 5'9" 221 Redshirt Sophomore OLB - Central Florida

The terrific scout in Roose's area puts him at 37/100, he just needs playing time to develop. There are two very good starting OLBs on the team but both graduate this year, Roose will probably back them up this season and build up for next year.

Eric Catalfamo, 6'2" 229 Redshirt Sophomore QB - Virginia

Our pretty good scout tells us that Eric is at 70/70 right now, he's developed as much as he can. This is a big difference from last year's 35/66 report! Eric will of course start again, and still has a good crew of WRs to throw to.

Mercury Radke, 6'1" 286 Redshirt Sophomore DT - Miami of Ohio

Our pretty good scout grades Mercury at 61/81 to start off this year. There is one DT ahead of him but if he doesn't start this year it will be criminal.

Ralph continues to be used sparingly, with only two carries in the game, but had an impressive 58 yard run with one of them, totalling 64 yards.

Clyde Barrett Toledo travels to Austin this week to face Texas (1-0) and it's sheer dominance by the Longhorns for a 31-0 win. Clyde didn't have a good game, recording only one assist

Eric Catalfamo Virginia(2-0) has been an offensive juggernaut this season thanks to Eric's play, and the Cavs take their show on the road to Rutgers this week, routing the home team 52-14, in a game which was possibly Eric's best yet. He was in control from the beginning, throwing 25-33 for 331 yards and 6 touchdowns, no interceptions. Through three games he is leading the nation in both passing yards (1130) and touchdowns (11) and is already getting a lot of Heisman consideration.

It was another easy 49-21 win for the Cavs, with Eric taking another Player of the Game award for his 26-33 for 330 yards and 4 touchdown performance. 2022 Season Start

Pre-season Top 10

Penn State
Wisconsin
Texas
Stanford
Air Force
Notre Dame
Pittsburgh
Tennessee
Virginia
Central Florida

Ralph Sawyer, 5'11" 223 Redshirt Junior RB - Syracuse

Our terrific scout grades Ralph 86/86 this year, and he is chomping at the bit to see some starting time after two years primarily on the bench. He is by far the best RB on the roster so he should start. Syracuse will try to repeat as Big East champions this year.

Clyde Barrett, 6'0" 246 Senior DE - Texas

Clyde is back for his final year starting at DE for Texas. They have very little depth at the position and the best player behind Clyde is a redshirt freshman. Clyde really wants to make an impact this year and impress the NFL scouts.

Roosevelt Brock, 5'9" 226 Redshirt Junior OLB - Central Florida

Roosevelt is still trying to break into the starting lineup, as he has seen very little playing time the last two years. He is developing slowly, and our terrific scout has him at 50/100 right now. It's up in the air whether he will start or not this year.

Eric Catalfamo, 6'2" 229 Redshirt Junior QB - Virginia

Eric had a spectacular year last year and came in second in the Heisman voting. He is hoping to improve even more this year. Our pretty good scout puts him at 78/78, but he plays far better on the field.

Mercury Radke, 6'1 286 Redshirt Junior DT - Miami of Ohio

Mercury saw a little starting time last year but has high hopes for being named a starter this season. Our excellent scout seems him as 64/81 this year. Miami of Ohio will try to rebound from their disappointing 9-3 season last year and be the dominant team they have been in the past.

Be interesting to see where Barrett gets drafted.

p.s. Racine Park High School in Racine, WI is my alma mater, so I'm always on the lookout for them to crop up in these things.

Ralph is set to start again at RB and is looking to better last year's already impressive numbers. Does he have the talent to play on Sundays? Our terrific scout rates him at 95/95, so I think so.

Clyde Barrett, 6'0" 246 rookie DE - Arizona Cardinals

Arizona picked Clyde with the 11th pick of the 4th round. To be honest, he was not that impressive in the combine, but my scout rated him as 34/47 once on the roster, so I'm hopeful that he can make something of himself. After training camp he looked a bit better, at 35/51, but my scout doesn't think he'll make an impact in the NFL. We will see if he's a washout or a breakout.

Roosevelt Brock, 5'9" 228 Senior OLB - Central Florida

Central Florida is coming off a championship year but doesn't seem quite as strong this year, particularly at QB where they will have to start someone untried. However their rushing offense should be as good as ever and we'll see how well their defense holds up. Roosevelt was third on the team in tackles last year and wants to improve on this. Our excellent scout puts him at 72/87 so we'll see what he can do.

Eric Catalfamo, 6'2" 229 Senior QB - Virginia

Eric has torn up the ACC the last two years and been a Heisman nominee, will he be able to follow up on his success in his senior year? His main problem may be a lack of receiving talent, he has seen several excellent receivers graduate over the last two years and the pool for Virginia is getting a bit thin. Our pretty good scout rates Eric at 79/79.

Mercury Radke, 6'1" 286 Senior DT - Miami of Ohio

Mercury certainly won't be a backup this season, as he is the best played Miami has at DT and probably the best on the defensive line. Our excellent scout rates him as 74/81. Miami has suffered two very nasty blows as their excellent starting QB of the last two seasons is out on academic probation, and also their top rated RB. They have a decent backup at RB but the situation at QB is not looking good.

2023 Week 1

Penn State - Wisconsin - Northwestern - Pittsburgh - Michigan top 5

Ralph Sawyer did not play

Clyde Barrett Arizona faced San Francisco on the road this week and lost 24-14. Strangely, Clyde got the start despite in almost everyone's opinion not being the second best DE on the roster! He recorded 2 tackles an an assist.

Roosevelt Brock Central Florida starts off the season against Washington at home, and downs them 17-7 behind solid rushing by their excellent RB Jamie Shaye (1700+ yards last year.) Their air attack looked very weak, however. Brock had a nice game with 6 tackles and 2 assists.

Eric Catalfamo did not play

Mercury Radke did not play

2023 Week 2

Notre Dame - Penn State - Wisconsin - Pittsburgh - California top 5

Ralph Sawyer Syracuse faced Tennessee in Knoxville to start the year, a tough match in anyone's book. They were blown off the field by the Vols, 44-12, and looked frankly terrible. Their offense couldn't get any traction and Ralph only had 5 carries for 22 yards before hyperextending his elbow and leaving the game. It will take up to 5 weeks to heal.

Clyde Barrett Arizona travelled to Baltimore to face the Ravens and were beaten 31-17. Barrett had 2 tackles an an assist in the game, he hasn't shown a whole lot yet.

Roosevelt Brock did not play

Eric Catalfamo Virginia started their season with a match against Mississippi State, and had no real trouble putting them away 37-14. Eric finished with 25-35 for 265 yards, 3 touchdowns and 1 interception.

Mercury Radke Miami of Ohio travelled to Seattle to play Washington, and beat them 24-16. Radke impressed with 4 tackles and a sack in the game.

2023 Week 3

Tennessee - Notre Dame - California - Pittsburgh - Wisconsin top 5

Ralph Sawyer Syracuse hosted Texas A&M and won handily, 44-17. Ralph was out with his hyperextended elbow.

Clyde Barrett The Vikings edged the Cardinals 14-13 this week, and Barrett didn't get the start, recording only 1 tackle.

Roosevelt Brock Central Florida had no problem taking Temple apart, 31-10. Brock had 2 tackles, an assist, and an interception on the day.

Eric Catalfamo Virginia travelled to Rutgers and won handily, 31-6, holding them to only 4 first downs. Eric had a great game, throwing 34-46 for 354 yards with 4 touchdowns and 1 interception.

Mercury Radke Miami hosted South Carolina and thrashed them 38-6. Radke had 2 tackles and 1 assist.

2023 Week 4

Tennessee - Penn State - Central Florida - Texas - Miami of Ohio top 5

Ralph Sawyer Syracuse avenged last year's key loss to UConn by beating them 27-11 at home. Sawyer got a little play, but only 7 carries for 11 yards, backup RB Pete Dennie continued to play in his absence.

Clyde Barrett Arizona got their first win this week, edging the Giants 27-24. The MVP of the game was Clyde Barrett, who really impressed with 4 tackles, an assist, 2 sacks, and a fumble recovery.

Roosevelt Brock Central Florida handled Mississippi easily, 31-14 this week. Brock had 1 tackle and 1 assist.

Eric Catalfamo Auburn travelled to Charlottesville where Virginia demolished them 41-7. Eric continued to look terrific, throwing for 25-37 for 354 yards with 3 touchdowns and 1 interception.

Mercury Radke Miami hosted Central Michigan this week and won easily, 35-7. QB Les Mills is definitely filling in well for their academically suspended starter. Radke had a great game with 5 tackles, an assist, and 2 sacks.

Nice to see Clyde improving in Arizona. Eric is the one I'm really looking forward to seeing at the pro level though.

What's strange about Clyde is he's one of those guys who shouldn't be starting at all. His ratings are very uneven (one of those really high strength really low technique guys) and there's another player on the roster who seems superior, yet Clyde is getting the starts. Oh well.

Yeah, it will be interesting to see what happens to Eric.

Ralph Sawyer did not play

Roosevelt Brock Central Florida routed tough conference opponent Eastern Michigan this week, 45-10. Brock had 2 tackles in the game.

2023 Week 6

Stanford - Wisconsin - Penn State - North Texas - Notre Dame top 5

Ralph Sawyer Syracuse travelled to Auburn this week and staved off a 4th quarter comeback to win 16-10. The Tigers shut down the running game of the Orange so Sawyer had only 55 yards on 22 carries, though he did catch 2 passes for 34 yards.

Clyde Barrett Arizona was battered by the Eagles on the road, 31-18. Barrett had 1 tackle and 1 sack on the day.

Roosevelt Brock Central Florida was surprised on the road at Ohio and lost 24-10, their first loss since 2021! It was a defensive struggle all the way (20 total first downs between the teams) and Ohio made the key special teams plays they had to. Brock had 5 tackles and 3 assists in the game.

Eric Catalfamo The Duke Blue Devils travelled to Charlottesville and the Cavs turned them away 28-17, a win though not the convincing one many expected. Eric was contained for most of the game and ended up with 19-34 for 194 yards, 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions.

Mercury Radke Miami blanked conference opponent Kent State 26-0 this week in a walkover. Radke had an excellent game with 2 tackles, an assist, and 2 sacks, he is really stepping up his pass pressure this season.

2023 Week 7

Notre Dame - North Texas - Stanford - Wisconsin - Texas top 5

Ralph Sawyer Syracuse had a tough match at Boston College this week, and had to come back in the second half to win, 17-14, capped by Ralph's 65 yard touchdown run. Overall he ran 23 times for 124 yards and the score, and caught 2 passes for 30 yards as well.

Clyde Barrett The Cardinals lost at Seattle, 24-13 this week. They have a decent offense but a weak defense and turnovers are really killing them. Barrett recorded 2 tackles, an assist, and a sack this week.

Roosevelt Brock Central Florida rebounded from last week's loss with a 38-0 shutout of Akron. Brock had 1 tackle and 3 assists on the day.

Eric Catalfamo Virginia hosted ACC rivals NC State this week and won a rough-and-tumble affair, 38-24. Eric outdid himself in this game, not only throwing 23-30 for 254 yards and 2 touchdowns, 1 interception, but adding a rushing touchdown on an incredible 67 yard scramble!

Mercury Radke Miami of Ohio had no problem thrashing Buffalo31-6 on the road. Radke led the team this week with 7 tackles and half a sack.

2023 Mid-Year Update

Ralph Sawyer Syracuse is 4-1 on the year. Ralph has been hampered by an injury but even so, doesn't seem to be the same ferocious runner he was last year, his backup Pete Dennie has outperformed him in his injury starts. Ralph has 57 carries for 212 yards so far, and 5 catches for 76 yards.

Clyde Barrett Clyde has played surprisingly effectively as a rookie starter, recording 13 tackles, 5 assists, and 4 sacks so far this year.

Roosevelt Brock Central Florida is 5-1 at this point and still a top ten team. Brock is playing fairly well for them, recording 17 tackles and 10 assists, this is behind last season's pace however.

Eric Catalfamo Virginia is 6-0 this season and a viable top ten team. Eric has been very effective though he doesn't have the deep play threat receivers he has had in past years. So far he's 153-218 (a career best 70.1%) for 1714 yards, with 17 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. He also has one touchdown on the ground.

Mercury Radke Miami of Ohio is 5-1 and ranked at the bottom of the top 20. Radke has showed massive improvement this season and in fact looks like a different player now that he is starting full time. He has 24 tackles, 5 assists, and 5.5 sacks so far. Compare that to his entire last year totals of 21 - 11 - 2.5!

2023 Week 8

Stanford - North Texas - Notre Dame - Penn State - Tennessee top 5

Ralph Sawyer Syracuse hosted Akron this week and had no trouble putting away the hapless Zips, 34-3. Sawyer got back into the swing of things with 31 carries for 142 yards, as well as 4 catches for 41 more.

Clyde Barrett Arizona beat the Redskins convincingly, 30-7 this week. Barrett recorded 2 tackles.

Eric Catalfamo did not play

Mercury Radke did not play

2023 Week 9

Penn State - Stanford - Notre Dame - North Texas - Central Florida top 5

Ralph Sawyer Syracuse faced Temple on the road and controlled them for the whole game, 38-10. Ralph got his first touchdown of the year in the game, getting 83 yards on 18 carries and the score. He added 34 yards on 3 catches. The Orange are using a much more pass-oriented offense this season which is definitely hurting their rushing numbers.

Clyde Barrett did not play, the Cardinals had a bye this week.

Roosevelt Brock Central Florida had no trouble this week against Marshall, beating them 33-14 and only allowing 6 first downs. Brock had 3 tackles in the game.

Eric Catalfamo Virginia had a tough date at Maryland, a team known for its solid defense. The Cavs came out on top in a close one, 13-9. Eric threw for 18-29 for 164 yards and 2 interceptions, and ran in a score.

Mercury Radke Miami faced off against tough conference opponent Ohio, and needed a last minute rally to beat them, 33-25. Radke made some great plays, leading the team in tackles with 7, and 4 assists.

2023 Week 10

We'll see how the draft goes, my experience has been that the conversion to FOF is all about college ratings, in which case Sawyer is probably the best bet for success, but we'll see.

2023 Week 16

Ralph Sawyer Syracuse backed into a minor bowl berth against Tulane this week. They faced a surprisingly tough Green Wave squad who beat them, 28-26. Sawyer was ineffective on the ground with 17 carries for 62 yards, though he did record an impressive 11 catches for 105 yards receiving.

Clyde Barrett Arizona beat hapless Cleveland on the road, 26-23. Barrett had an excellent game, with 3 tackles, 2 assists, and 2 sacks.

Roosevelt Brock Central Florida was embarrassed to be playing Connecticut in a minor bowl this week. They blanked UConn 13-0 and in his final college game Brock had 4 tackles and 4 assists.

Eric Catalfamo did not play

Mercury Radke Miami would face UTEP in a minor bowl this week. Miami broke for a late touchdown to win the game 29-22. Radke had 5 tackles and 3 assists.

2023 Final game

Ralph Sawyer did not play

Clyde Barrett Arizona was routed by the Rams 38-13, and Barrett had 2 tackles in his final game of the season.

Roosevelt Brock did not play

Eric Catalfamo North Texas was heavily favored against Virginia without Eric playing. But what's this? Eric was limping onto the field! Against all odds, he would play despite his serious injury! This game was a battle of the quarterbacks, with Eric and UNT 's Roger Jeter airing it out all over the place. It ended up being a slugfest, but UNT got the better of it 45-31 to finish their undefeated season with a national title! Eric's final stats for the game were 22-41 for 381 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 interception. Jeter threw 5 TDs which sealed the game for UNT.

Mercury Radke did not play

2023 End of Season Update

Ralph Sawyer Syracuse finished 9-3 and lost in their minor bowl appearance. Sawyer was hampered this year by an early injury and a less effective running game overall, his final totals were 206 carries for 894 yards and 8 touchdowns. Receiving he caught 33 passes for 375 yards. Definitely disappointing for his senior year, but still good enough to be named Big East 1st Team RB!

Clyde Barrett Arizona finished 6-10 and will hope for better things next season. Barrett had a surprisingly good rookie season, mostly playing from a pass rush position. He ended up with 26 tackles, 18 assists, and 6 sacks on the year.

Roosevelt Brock Central Florida finished the season 10-2, including a minor bowl win. They had a very good team this year but not the dominating national championship one of the year before. Brock was fairly ineffective this year, finishing with 37 tackles and 17 assists, down from last season in both areas.

Eric Catalfamo Virginia finished 11-1 and had a disappointing loss in the title game. They did win the ACC title however. Eric played well for most of the year, good enough to be nominated for the Heisman (his third nomination) and be awarded ACC Conference MVP and Top Offensive Player for the fourth year in a row, definitely unprecedented! He was also named ACC 1st Team QB. His final numbers were 277-410 for 3240 yards with 26 touchdowns and 13 interceptions, he also added 4 more rushing touchdowns.

Eric holds the ACC career records for pass completions and passing yards, and is second for touchdowns, and is probably the best overall quarterback the ACC has produced.

Mercury Radke Miami was very happy with their 11-2 finish and minor bowl win. Radke had a great year, really showing his stuff and finishing with 51 tackles, 22 assists and 10.5 sacks. He led the team in sacks and was second in tackles. He was honored with the MAC 2nd team DT award!

I always find it very nerve wracking to convert players that I've followed for a while into FOF, sometimes you get some weird results. I think Sawyer will be good, as will Eric, I'm not sure about the other two though.

Well, scratch that. Looks like my save games for this dynasty are having issues, so I'm going to start up a new dynasty along the same lines.

Well I wrestled the problems out and I'm going to continue this dynasty after all, I really want to see what happens to these guys.

2024 Training Camp

Ralph Sawyer Ralph was the first of our players picked, with the #7 overall pick by New England. New England finished 6-10 last year and can use some help offensively. It looked like he would backup veteran RB Kyle Douglas but he showed so much inspired play in training camp that Ralph is written in as the starter for the beginning of the year. He's rated as current 55, future 68.

Clyde Barrett Clyde had to pack up and move to Green Bay, who got him as part of a trade package for their first round pick. Green Bay won the Super Bowl last season, so maybe this will be a good move for Clyde. Looking at Green Bay's roster though, he's going to have to fight hard to see playing time. He'll start the season active as a backup though. He's rated as current 43, future 54 by a poor scout.

Roosevelt Brock Roosevelt was taken by the Giants with the #10 overall pick. The Giants finished 7-9 last year. He has had to work hard in training camp as the Giants changed him over to the SLB position, and also told him that he and another rookie will be their starting OLBs this year. Hopefully he can make an impact, he's definitely their best linebacker. He's rated as current 56, future 77, so I think we'll see some good things from him.

Eric Catalfamo Eric was taken by Buffalo with the #30 pick. Buffalo finished 13-2-1 last year but lost in the AFC championship. It looks like a good spot for Eric, he's playing behind 14 year journeyman Floyd Rose who can mentor him for a season or two, then take over. However, he's having a contract dispute with the team and is still holding out at the start of the preseason games. He's rated as current 35, future 69, and needs some seasoning.

Mercury Radke Mercury was taken by Dallas with the 23rd pick of the 3rd round. Dallas finished 10-6 last year, but won the Super Bowl in 2022. He improved some through training camp and definitely looks to have some pass rushing skills at least. He will get some backup play this season. Our scout rates him as current 30, future 37, but then our scout is poor at defensive linemen.

2024 Preseason Games

Ralph Sawyer Ralph missed the first two preseason games with severe headaches and saw only limited action in the other games.

Clyde Barrett Barrett didn't see much playing time in preseason.

Roosevelt Brock Brock wowed his team in the first preseason game with 5 tackles, 3 assists, and an interception. He continued his excellent play throughout the preseason.

Eric Catalfamo Eric finally signed a contract after the first preseason game. He was gradually eased into the system and not given too many passes in preseason.

Mercury Radke Radke impressed his coaches with one excellent game where he recorded 1.5 sacks. He was off and on the rest of the preseason.

2024 Week 1

Ralph Sawyer, RB - New England Patriots The Patriots edged the Jets 17-16 as Ralph scored his first NFL touchdown. He had 14 carries for 45 yards and the score, and caught 1 pass for 17 yards.

Clyde Barrett, DE - Green Bay Packers Green Bay dropped one this week to the Vikings, 29-26. Barrett didn't record any stats in the game.

Roosevelt Brock, SLB - New York Giants The Giants beat Dallas 31-28 in a nice division win to start the year. Roosevelt had 5 tackles and 4 assists in his first game.

Eric Catalfamo, QB - Buffalo Bills Eric is riding the bench this season behind Floyd Rose, as expected. Floyd tears it up to give Buffalo a 31-17 win in their first game.

Mercury Radke, DT - Dallas Cowboys Dallas lost to the Giants 31-28 this week. Radke recorded 1 tackle.

2024 Week 2

Ralph Sawyer, RB - New England Patriots Ralph had a good game with 22 carries for 95 yards, and three receptions for 38 more, but it wasn't enough for the Pats to beat Seattle, as they lost 20-17.

Clyde Barrett, DE - Green Bay Packers Green Bay routed Tennessee 42-10 behind a 338 yard, 4 touchdown passing performance from star QB Reuben Al-Rudaini. Clyde didn't record any stats but saw a few plays before he left the game with a separated shoulder, but he should be back in a week or two.

Roosevelt Brock, SLB - New York Giants The Giants beat the Steelers at home, 21-17, and Roosevelt had 2 tackles and 3 assists in the game.

Eric Catalfamo, QB - Buffalo Bills Eric didn't play, as Floyd Rose led the Bills to a 26-14 win on the road against Arizona. It looks like Eric will carry a clipboard this year, barring an injury to the veteran Rose.

Mercury Radke, DT - Dallas Cowboys Radke played a little as a backup, and recorded one tackle and 1 assist, as the Boys won a close one against Baltimore, 17-9. Dallas' starting DE Jose Coughenour had a great game with 6 tackles, 3 assists, and 3 sacks to take home Defensive Player of the Week.

2024 Week 3

Ralph Sawyer, RB - New England Patriots New England travels to Oakland and it's a dandy of a game, but the Raiders take it 28-27. Ralph doesn't have a great day running the ball but does see the end zone twice, with 17 carries for 50 yards and the 2 TDs overall. Oakland's QB Ron Banks does it all this week with 291 yards and 4 touchdowns, and it's too much for the Pats.

Clyde Barrett, DE - Green Bay Packers The Packers make it look easy with a 24-10 home win over the winless Carolina Panthers. Clyde doesn't play because of his shoulder injury.

Roosevelt Brock, SLB - New York Giants The Lions come to town and steal a win from the Giants, 19-17. Brock really broke through this week with a big game though, recording 7 tackles and snatching an interception.

Eric Catalfamo, QB - Buffalo Bills The Bills advance to 3-0 with a 19-10 win over Denver this week. As usual, Floyd Rose gets the start at QB, though he doesn't have a great game. The Bills win games on defense first.

Mercury Radke, DT - Dallas Cowboys Dallas goes on the road to win at San Francisco, 31-21. Dallas QB Glenn Cooper launches 4 touchdowns. Radke gets a tackle in sparse backup play.

2024 Week 4

Ralph Sawyer, RB - New England Patriots The Pats won a division game over the Dolphins, 24-20, as Ralph saw his first Player of the Game nod. He scored all three of the Patriots TDs, 2 on short runs and one on an impressive 62 yard reception. Overall his stats were 21 for 59 on the ground and three catches for 59 yards. Ralph is really looking like the complete package as he brings excellent inside power, an outside burst, and great hands.

Clyde Barrett, DE - Green Bay Packers Arizona beats Green Bay at Lambeau 21-18, and Clyde again rests out his injury, which is now healed.

Roosevelt Brock, SLB - New York Giants New York 24, New Orleans 14, as Brock records 3 tackles and 4 assists. Nothing really special to report about this game.

Eric Catalfamo, QB - Buffalo Bills Buffalo goes to 4-0 on the year against pathetic Tennessee, but needs a late score to do it, 29-26. Floyd Rose hooks up with Buffalo's excellent WR Cap Rogers (a #2 overall pick of a few years back) for two scores.

Mercury Radke, DT - Dallas Cowboys Dallas travels to Charlotte and gets ambushed by the Panthers, 31-14. Carolina's RB Carl Vance lit them up with 152 yards on only 15 carries, and 2 scores, they just couldn't stop him. Radke had 2 tackles and an assist.

2024 Week 5

Ralph Sawyer, RB - New England Patriots New England needed a dose of luck to win over the winless Titans, who have had a lot of close games, but 21-20 Pats was the final score. Patriots QB Marcus Raymond tossed all three scores, as Ralph was limited to 72 yards on 17 carries, and 2 catches for 56 yards (one a nice 48 yarder.)

Clyde Barrett, DE - Green Bay Packers The Packers play at St. Louis, and look like they had this one won, until a late fumble gives the Rams just enough time to kick a winning FG as the clock ticked out, 22-20. Clyde barely sees the field this game.

Roosevelt Brock, SLB - New York Giants The Giants win a tight one against Carolina, 20-17, but need a time-expired field goal to prevent overtime. Brock had a nice game with 7 tackles and recorded a sack of Carolina QB Lane.

Eric Catalfamo, QB - Buffalo Bills Undefeated Buffalo plays winless Indianapolis, and it plays to form, with the Bills taking it 21-0. QB Floyd Rose gets all three touchdowns, with two going to Cap Rogers.

Mercury Radke, DT - Dallas Cowboys Dallas travelled to Tampa this week and got whipped by the Bucs, 27-9. The 'Boys only managed 35 rushing yards and couldn't get anything done. Mercury had two tackles.

2024 Week 6

Ralph Sawyer, RB - New England Patriots The Pats have an off week.

Clyde Barrett, DE - Green Bay Packers Green Bay drops one to the hated Lions, 21-17. Detroit's QB is the strangely named Lamar Aufedenkampe, but he can play, throwing for two scores and running 48 yards for the other. Clyde again records no stats, as he is barely making the field. This is an ugly turn after starting all year for Arizona!

Roosevelt Brock, SLB - New York Giants The Giants also have a bye this week.

Eric Catalfamo, QB - Buffalo Bills Buffalo drops its first game to the very hot Houston Texans, 19-10. Floyd Rose aired it out but it wasn't enough. Will Eric ever see the field this year? It's hard to say.

Mercury Radke, DT - Dallas Cowboys Dallas drops a close one, 14-13, to the undefeated Redskins. Washington's QB Eric Winslett has 321 yards passing which is impressive since he's the backup, in for their starter who's out with a pulled calf muscle. Radke recorded 3 tackles, he's a good player but he's not getting enough playing time so far. Dallas starting DT Dennison is out next week so maybe that will give him a shot.

2024 Week 7

Ralph Sawyer, RB - New England Patriots New England hosts the 6-1 Texans and play them close, but not close enough, losing 21-17. Ralph has 77 yards on 19 carries and three catches for 25 yards, including a 1 yard TD grab.

Clyde Barrett, DE - Green Bay Packers Green Bay has a bye this week.

Roosevelt Brock, SLB - New York Giants The Giants host the Cowboys this week, see below. Brock has 5 tackles and an assist on the week.

Eric Catalfamo, QB - Buffalo Bills Buffalo travels to Miami and comes home with a 30-24 win. Dolphins QB Lenny Stone did his best with three touchdowns, but it wasn't enough. Eric continues to watch a lot of game film.

Mercury Radke, DT - Dallas Cowboys The Cowboys travel to play the Giants, and hand them a 23-6 loss. Radke gets his first start because of an injury, but only records two tackles.

2024 Week 8

Ralph Sawyer, RB - New England Patriots The Patriots play the Jets at home, and lose 17-6 in a very disappointing game. The offense just could not get started in this one. Ralph had 14 carries for 79 yards and 3 catches for 27 more.

Clyde Barrett, DE - Green Bay Packers Green Bay handled San Francisco this week, 30-24, as Packers QB Al-Rudaini tossed an overtime score, his third of the game, to seal the deal. Barrett only appeared in a few plays, for no stats.

Roosevelt Brock, SLB - New York Giants The Giants faced the Eagles for an ugly division battle, and came home 30-27 victors with a field goal in overtime. Brock had a nice game with 5 tackles, 3 assists, and a sack.

Eric Catalfamo, QB - Buffalo Bills A bye week for the Bills this week.

Mercury Radke, DT - Dallas Cowboys Dallas gives New Orleans a 38-23 thumping this week. Radke had 2 tackles and was given credit for half a sack.

Half Season Update

Ralph Sawyer, RB - New England Patriots

The Patriots are 3-4 so far, and sitting behind 6-1 Buffalo in their division, they will need a major turnaround to have something happen this season. The Pats have a bad running defense and give up a lot of turnovers, never a good combination.

Ralph has had a good year, though his carries have been limited, but so far he has 477 yards on 124 carries, and 5 rushing touchdowns. He also has 15 catches for 242 more yards and 2 more TDs. He has a good shot at Rookie of the Year if he has a good second half.

Clyde Barrett, DE - Green Bay Packers

Green Bay is also 3-4 so far this season, but they are still in the division hunt as Chicago is only 4-3 and is currently leading. Packer RB Irving McCormick has really been pounding the ball this year, and is leading the NFL with 706 rushing yards so far. They need a lot more consistency in their defense in order to think about repeating last year's Super Bowl winning season.

Clyde is the backup of the backups this season, a ghost on the roster. The good news is that one of the DEs ahead of him is out for a few weeks which should give him a chance to play. So far this year Clyde has no stats, and has only appeared in 22 plays in 4 games.

Roosevelt Brock, SLB - New York Giants

The Giants are 5-2 on the season and are looking good, since they finished 7-9 last year. Unfortunately they are behind 8-0 Washington in their division. They have cobbled together wins but don't seem exceptional in any one area, though veteran QB Thomas Sherman is having a nice year.

Roosevelt is playing well, third on the team in tackles so far with 34, 15 assists, 2 sacks, an interception, and one hurry on the year.

Eric Catalfamo, QB - Buffalo Bills

Buffalo is 6-1 so far, and doing well to maintain their pace of a 13-2-1 season last year. Their defense has been rock solid, especially against the pass, and QB Floyd Rose has been conservative and sharp.

Eric hasn't played this year, and most likely won't unless Rose is injured. Next year is anyone's guess, as Rose is solid and has two more years on his contract.

Mercury Radke, DT - Dallas Cowboys

Dallas is 4-4 so far and is struggling for consistency, they have looked very good and very bad. They have been a platooning team so far because of injuries, splitting time at both QB and RB, and if they can find one player to stick with that may help them.

Radke is the backup DT for the Cowboys, and is struggling for playing time. On the year he has 14 tackles, 2 assists, 7 hurries, and half a sack.

Who'd have thought Sawyer and Brock would turn out like they have? Looks like that disappointing senior season gave Ralph motivation.

Definitely, Brock is really surprising me, he is playing great this year. Ralph I think would be much better if New England had a better OL, they have about two good guys, both of whom have been hurt a lot.
