My headphones are in.

The bad news, The Bachelor Pad starts soon kicking off a non-stop semi-scripted ABC suck fest. I hope it's not a 2 hour show.

Rogers Touches All the Bases, Hits for Cycle
Friday, April 21st, 2079: "It's too bad I can't do that every day," Richard Rogers said with a smile to reporters after today's game. "It would do wonders for my batting average." Rogers had every right to be in a good mood after hitting for the cycle today against Chico at Rebels Ballpark. The Winged Lingerines won the ballgame 34-6, he hit for the cycle, had a 4-for-5 game and boosted his batting average up a few points. The 28-year-old Ann Arbor center fielder chalked up 7 runs batted in and 3 runs scored for the game, too.

Who says you can't have it all?

He told the press that a triple is the tough hit to get in a cycle. "As soon as it left the bat, guys jumped off the bench and were rooting hard for me to have enough gas to get there," Rogers said. "It was hard to enjoy it... I was breathing too hard... you got to really be in shape to run out a triple."

R. Rogers hit an RBI double in the 2nd, walked in a run in the 3rd, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off C. Arteaga in the 6th and hit an RBI triple in the 7th.

This year Rogers has collected a .276 batting average to date with 16 hits in 58 at-bats, 12 RBIs, 4 home runs and scored 9 times. He has played in 15 games.

After a ho-hum third place finish last year I wasn't sure what to expect from my guys. I'm actually going with a 5 man rotation for the first time in a long time, if ever, to take some weight off my two 2 pitch starters shoulders.

Number 400 for Madrigal
Wednesday, May 17th, 2079: The Colorado Rancheros defeated the Toronto Marlboros 16-5 yesterday in a game that featured Iván Madrigal's 400th career home run.

In the clubhouse, the Rancheros first baseman spoke about the milestone achievement. "To be honest, I don't even remember my first home run," he said. "But this one I don't think I'll forget. Who knows if I'll hit another hundred, or fifty, or even ten?"

On his historic day, Madrigal banged out 3 hits in 5 at-bats and scored 2 runs with 4 runs batted in.

Lifetime Madrigal is hitting .289 with 1746 hits, 400 home runs, 1061 runs scored and 1275 RBIs.

Thursday, June 1st, 2079: Youngster Manny García emerged as the latest Republic League Rookie of the Month today. The young man from Ann Arbor deserved the honor, batting .353 with 1 home run and 13 runs batted in. Is the month of May a harbinger of things to come or just a fluke? We'll find out someday, but for now, we'll just let García enjoy the limelight.

Well I'm glad you're making a decision that you feel is good for you!

Sometimes I break out with 5 too but that's only if there are many equally bad-ass pitchers. It's worked well for me before.

Béltre Top RL Pitcher in June
Saturday, July 1st, 2079: The Chico Rebels felt very secure when they sent Júlio Béltre out to the hill last month. The 26-year-old starter went after Republic League hitters with a vengeance and earned June's Pitcher of the Month award.

He went 5-1 with a 3.27 ERA as he struck out 28 in 41.1 innings over 6 starts.

On the season Béltre has compiled a 7-8 mark with a 7.02 ERA in 16 starts. In pitching 118 innings he has 86 strikeouts and 48 walks while limiting the opposition to a .301 batting average.

I think I used a 5 man rotation about 90% of my time in FOOL. The only time I didn't was when I absolutely had no one even salvageable as a 5th starter.

I think that's how I started back in the day but then we went through a bout of really bad pitching and I never recovered.

250 Wins for Rebels Morales
Thursday, July 6th, 2079: It was a special day at Rebels Ballpark for Chico's Felipe Morales. The Rebels ace logged his 250th career win against the Rancheros. In the 2-1 decision Morales tossed 8 innings, surrendered 4 hits with 2 walks and 2 strikeouts.

"I'm real fortunate that I had the opportunity to play with such good players during my career," said Morales. "I just couldn't have drawn it up any better. I'm glad I did it in this uniform, too. Chico is a great organization to play for."

Morales has a lifetime record of 250 wins and 136 losses and a 3.60 ERA.
