My Prayer
I posted this at another message board, but I thought I'd go ahead and post it here.
Every night when I go to bed I say my prayers. I always say the Lord's Prayer, and then just talk to God for a few minutes. For the past few weeks, I've been saying the following prayer. It's not that poetic, but it comes from the heart. God, Please send an army of angels to this world. Send your largest angel to enfold this planet within his wings, so we can all be embraced by your love. Send a host of angels to the leaders of nations, to whisper your will into their hearts. Send an angel of mercy to every innocent man, woman, and child who are threatened by the weapons of war, that they may be comforted by your presence. Send a guardian angel to watch over my family and keep them safe from harm. Please let the conflict be over soon. Let the innocent be spared as much as possible. And protect us all from those who would do us harm. I do support the President, but I don't anybody who actually WANTS war. I hope that it is over soon, but until it is, I'll keep saying this prayer. Feel free to distribute this to anyone you think might appreciate it.

I'm not a real religious person, but I agree with the sentiment, may the powers that be watch over us and keep the losses as low as possible.

To keep it very short and very simple, because, 1) I do respect people's beliefs 2) I don't want to start another religious debate here Having said that, it really irks me to read this stuff, and to read the "God bless our soldiers" stuff, when a "best of luck" or "our thoughts are with you" will do..... Prayer is a private thing. Keep it to yourself, please. There are people who do not want to listen to others pray.

This new message board has a nifty ignore feature if it bothers you. It's very easy to use. Or you could just look at the title of the thread, entitled "My Prayer". It might have given you a clue as to what was contained within.

Thanks for the prayer Cam. It's good to know that there are others out there who are lifting up our soldiers, our Prez and our nation in prayer. I, for one, love to read and hear people's prayers, so if you have any other prayers that you pray, feel free to PM me (if that doesn't seem too weird). God bless bro!
