Trade Toronto-Baltimore

Baltimore sends
SP Coy Miller, 1b Christian West, SS Hidekazu Daisen and RF Cary Green
to Toronto for
OF Roberto Mendoza and SP Ariel Pantoja.

Mendoza has big shoes to fill in replacing OF Scott Hood who is leaving via the first bus out of town...

With Mendoza and Callaghan in the middle of the lineup it will be one of the best 1-2 punch the Gothams ever had rivaling the due of Eisuke Shimizu and Ethan Garland that lead the Gothams to 6 playoff appearances in 8 years.

Pantoja is a wildcard. he has good ratings, but hasn't had the success his talent dictats. Hopefull a change of location will help him be the solid #2 or 3 start he is destined to be. Since I only had 2 good SP last season, he is still an upgrade.

We give up 4 good prospects....but the key is GOOD...not GREAT. Each of them will be solid contributers, but none will be the anchor that Mendoza is or eat up the innings like Pantoja.

Thanks Johnny for the quick talks!

we agree

Salary issues forced this move. I have a very good replacement for Mendoza, and i needed a starting rotation spot for another kid whose ready, which is why Pantoja was expendable. I'll be watching him very closely, Ariel Pantoja should be a good pitcher.

We get 4 solid prospects. None great but I think all have excellent chances of being major leaguers. Getting rid of that 10 mil in salary alone makes us a winner as I'll be able to keep my team together without issue this and next year.

Baltimore is getting an all-star. It's a win win for both teams.

Good luck ekcut
