I cant remember the system but I thought Tecmo Bowl 2 was a great game. I was thinking Sega.

I see you have RBI baseball but the sequel was better. The hitters didnt look 400 pounds and it had every team.

I have a top loading NES and those are pretty reliable. Also, the reason I know I have played all of my NES, SNES, and N64 games is that I have cleaned all of their contacts and tested them to see if they worked. Just some q-tips and either water or rubbing alcohol, let it dry a couple of mins, and then play. If it doesn't work, wash and repeat. Still doesn't work? Take it apart and deep clean the contacts.

I'll have to look into Mighty Bomb Jack.

RBI 2 and Baseball Stars 2 are a bit harder to determine what to do with. So, for a series like Super Mario Bros or Final Fantasy, each game is a unique outing with significant changes. It's a lot harder to quantify that for sports games, particularly lately. RBI is iconic so it's a necessary addition to the collection. How do you rate RBI 2, a game that's an incremental change?

SI

I don't see Kool-Aid Man for the Atari 2600. I think it was a mail off game for enough Kool-Aid points. We had it, many years ago. Here's a link on amazon: Amazon.com: Kool-Aid Man (Atari 2600): Video Games

Always enjoyed it as a kid, but ymmv.

Baseball Stars 2 wasn't nearly as good as the first for 2 main reasons. You can't rename anyone (So if you hire a Rookie LF, he'll be named Rook 1 or something equally dumb PERMANENTLY) - And you only get 6 prenamed teams to pick from when creating a team. Also, there is no Lovely Ladies team. How could they not be included? Otherwise its a very similar game, and no significant enough upgrades were made to make it better than the first, IMO.

The most important question is when will SI host an FOFC video game night?

Unless he keeps people from playing those games; in that case he can host an FOFC dinner evening (hopefully he never saw Seinfeld)...

Exaggerating a bit but I would compare RBI Baseball/RBI Baseball 2 to Tecmo Bowl/Super Tecmo Bowl.

And what Julio said about BS2 probably doesnt make it a must add. I think what I liked most about it was it was a bit more difficult and it kept track of stolen bases.

Not a Seinfeld fan so your joke is safe

That said, you see that room- it's always open for gaming. We don't have kids. Hell, my wife lives out of state right now so anytime someone wants to come over, I'm game for, well, a game (as long as it doesn't get in the way of work, etc)

I can't help but notice the majority of suggestions in this thread have been from the turn based strat genre
