My daughter got today's in 2 guesses. Not sure what her opening word was.

When the switch to the quadrant you know the least about method doesn't go well... should be a skin-of-the-teeth notifier for a 6789. Almost my first fail at this or Wordle.

Haven't tried it yet, but there's now a Wordle x Name That Tune mashup for all the music lovers, Heardle.

Also, there's one called Factle that's about guessing facts. Easier to explain using today's puzzle. They give you a fact, the top 5 most followed people on Instagram, and a group of 23 people. You have to guess the top 5, in order, in 5 guesses.

What's missing for me in Quordle and especially in Octordle is some kind of visualization on how many guesses I have left vs words to be found. Quordle got somewhat better now that everything fits on one screen, but with Octordle it's a scrolling nightmare.

If you want to cheat, the answers are all right there in the source code. I looked a while back, and I will apparently get my first score of 1 in about two years. Assuming I keep this up.

This applies to me quite often in quordle and octordle. After I have worked out the last word (or next to last one), right after I need to get rid of my curiosity about what the heck I just wrote.

To add to it: what a terrible example of misuse of data analytics. You don't make a conclusion until after trying to work out more than one theory on what the trend is that you may have found. Perhaps it proves that those that wrote this study are probably cheaters themselves and were unable to come up with other reasons for the cause?

Boooooooooooo! My 100% streak ends at 87

Had xYxYY after two guesses, but multiple options from there and I didn’t pick one that either of the missing letters.

I've lost my streak a few times because I forget to play. It's become part of my pre-work routine in the morning and so occasionally on Sat. or Sun. I just plain forget. I think I failed to get the word correct once, and it was one of those "got 4 letters but there's 5+ possible choices left" situations.

Edit: Quordle has been a nice challenge. My stats sit at: 68% Win rate (played 60 times), 5 Current Streak, 7 Max Streak

There's a music one called Heardle that I suck at because it's mostly new music. The one time I got it right was on the first guess because it was a Fleetwood Mac song (not even a Fleetwood Mac fan, it was just a song I heard a million times).

sedecordle seems to give the highest density of my favorite element: when I have enough pieces to make a good informed guess at the right answer, but have to noodle it a bit

still haven’t gotten it in 17, though, which feels like the bingo

After some practice, 18 seems to be doable every now or then. I fumbled one in the "for real" daily series when the opportunity arose there.
Solving Sedecordle in 17 does indeed feel like it's only manageable like a Yathzee without rerolls.

I can finally stop checking in. You know it's out of hand when you think, for a second, the problem with going on a vacation is your Worlde streak will come to an end (I don't have a cell phone). But I did it anyway, so goodbye 153-day streak and no desire whatsoever to start a new one.

In the meantime, apparently you can still travel to Canada without a passport. And we brought back a case of our favorite red wine from our wedding, no hassle. Seems the tourist places are very anxious to welcome people back. The rules for crossing the border changed quite a bit this month, so if you're vaccinated, no restrictions at all. It's a weird experience, saying you're from the US and having people seem happy to see you rather than the opposite.

I've mentioned before that I'm hearing impaired and rely very heavily on written communication. Given how badly a cell phone transmits sound, I need a landline if I'm going to use a phone.

Since I work from home, I don't really need one for texting or browsing. I also don't own a laptop - I have quarterback-sized hands (but no other relevant football talent), so the tiny keyboards aren't ideal.

my in laws have cochlear implants so they use those landlines that transcribe calls - seems helpful. they also text and email a lot - but i see where that's not your preferred communication method.

im impressed you dont feel the draw to have the internet in your pocket. wordle and twitter across the lands!

Mrs Q and I are now mostly playing the 32-word version via sectordle.com ... I'm eternally trying for the bingo, but getting all 32 in 37 guesses is often fairly challenging. She has become an addict. I care far less than I once did.

In getting the bingo you mean 32 in 32 tries? That seems quite the challenge, and obviously quite luck dependent on the first word. I think I missed out on a 33 when the opportunity arose, but I do usually get by in 34 attempts.

Admittedly, I use the same string of 4 words as my starters for the whole Worlde game family. One could think that will become boring, but I notice I haven't bored on those at all yet, because usually I have to break the opening sequence after 1 or 2 of them anyway.

I got the bingo today.

2 or 3 days ago, I got a 33 in Sectordle, but I forgot to copy and paste it.
