spin off from the GM list thread
some of the guys in the gm thread were discussing their next themes, and since i have alot more time on my hands than i used to, and i have always enjoyed running games that take place in various different worlds, does anyone have any ideas of where they might like to play werewolf, but dont have the time to create the ruleset themselves?
i would be happy to take any suggestions, do the research to learn the world if i dont know it, and then run the game. also, if it is ok with the community at large, i would be more than happy to run just vanilla games in between some of the themed games that people are setting up for...i really think if the games were more regularly run, then interest would come back up a little. the waiting list was great when we were putting 20+ players in a game ever week, and I think we should still have it, I am just offering my services as kind of a "fill in the spaces" GM. lemme know what you all think....I know Jackal is getting something ready to roll out, possibly tomorrow, so i can start jumping in after his game if there is no one left on the clock. |

I think keeping games going (with as few days as possible between them) would definitely keep the interest. As far as themes, I definitely wouldn't mind revisiting some of the themes that have been done before...maybe have a "fan vote" of sorts, that could be fun to relive some of those
One thought I just had - how about a WoW theme? I know you're a WoW player, sal, so that could be fun |

dola - I think this one has been done before, but a Harry Potter theme would be cool.

double dola - if we are need of vanilla GMs, I certainly wouldn't mind giving it a go. It can't be all that difficult to run a plain jane game.

Saldana actually ran that game It is when the "dead villager" streak started - I think the villagers got wolves the first two days in something like a 27 player game, and then it all fell apart. |

Has anyone ever done a reverse-WW game where the wolves are the good guys and the villagers are the bad?

packer, i think someone did a WoW theme, so i wouldnt run that without their permission...that has always kind of been the unwritten rule about themes...if whoever ran it wouldnt mind, i would love to do that one.
as far as HP goes, i was already thinking of running another one...same with star wars. edit: the WoW game was lathum's..i'll give him 5 dollars for a case of his shitty beer and he will let me run that theme i'm sure. Last edited by saldana : 01-27-2011 at 09:34 PM. |

I was just thinking Lost, I didn't remember seeing one on here.
I come up with a good theme every other day it seems like. Damned if I can think of one right now but I'll definitely post some. |

I have often thought of running a Song of Ice and Fire themed game.
Even had some of the basic rules in place. The problem is that it was for a large group of players, and we haven't been able to attract enough of late.

Boardgamegeek has run at least two excellent Song of Fire and Ice themed WW games. I recommend checking them out for ideas. I think you could get a good turnout for one-just make sure you post in the Song of Ice and Fire thread on the main board.

Something Secret Service based would be good. Anything espionage related. but I can imagine the village being the secret service, infiltrated by assassins.

Secret Service would be fun - maybe mixed in with some of the political game we did back in the day.

Anyone running a WoW game is cool with me. Most of my "themed" games are just for flavor anyway

It's well worth it, Jackal. I'm about to start in on a reread, which is no light task. Best fantasy I've read in remembered history.

Roles: You are a big queer...that isn't your role...simply an observation on my part that no actual man would ever want to play in a Twilight themed game...in fact, no real man would actually even watch any of the Twilight movies, unless he did so for the purposes of attempting to score. Even gay guys I know think Twilight is freaking horrible. You are a villegar. |
