argh....I missed out on some prime picks . Maybe I should stop chasing third place and just tank a season or two to build back up.

Thanks Alan! Enjoy the weather (If you have any...you know.,...wasps, locusts, a wolf eating the sun...)
Well I sure grabbed all the starting pitchers this year. Usually I miss out. Funny that I went for the SAME outfielder someone else went for and they got him (Ouillette or something). Everyone get something good in free agency or did you miss out? |

I said this to myself every year for the past 5 years...but just can't do it. I am always just "one player away" from being a playoff team and can't bring myself to hit the self destruct button. This year I saw 9 studs in the ammy draft that i would be thrilled to have....I picked 10th. Sure enough, I drafted the 10th name on my list!

Marlies to Honor Hall of Famer at Home Opener
On April 8th, when the Toronto Marlboros open their home schedule for the 2119 season against the FOOL champion Hartford Harpooners, the fans attending will receive a blast from the past. Hall of Fame member Hector Guardado will have his number honored and placed on the outfield wall in Marlie Stadium. Toronto has chosen to honor number's, instead of retire them. 46 will stay in use despite noone on the current roster using the number Guardado, #46, played his entire FOOL career in Toronto as a Marlie. He started his career in 2064, the Marlie's first season in the new Canadian capital after the team left New York. He made the 1st of 6 straight all-star appearances the next year, and a hall of fame career was born. A 7 time best fielder winner, and 11 time all-star, Guardado's best season arguably came in 2071, when he hit .359, with 25 hr's, 118 rbi's, 22 steals, and 61 walks. His VORP for the year was 65.5. Amazingly, Guardado did not make the RL all-star team that season. Guardado is the team's all-time leader in runs, double's, total base's, and rbi's. He resides in the top 10 of numerous other categories. The 75 year old retired in 2082, with 412 home runs, 1855 rbi's and 3410 hit's. He won 3 FOOL championship's over his career. "It's a great honor, it will be nice to relive those championships' we won so long ago, and I'm really looking forward to seeing some old friends." commented the legend. Toronto GM John Williams was especially proud. "Hector was the 1st player I ever drafted after getting this job. We were in New York then, i was only on the job for a few weeks, and we were able to get this amazing franchise player right away. He gave us an identity, a rock, that was there for 19 seasons. He's truly one of the greats, and I'll probably enjoy this more then him." Each fan in attendance will receive a laser statue of #46, Hector Guardado

LOL And taken in context as I was talking about the free agent draft and how buying the really good players prevented me from getting any picks in the rookie draft, so if I didn't buy type A's and type B's in free agency, I could actually get some good picks and have a good future. But when I do that, of course, I have reduced my chances to compete this year to zero. |

Ugh, why can't there be more time in a day? For the past three or so seasons I've been struggling to find the time to get my exports in. I'm now to the point where it is probably for the best that I let the AI run things for a few seasons when hopefully I'll start to have some more free time. I should be back near the end of June. Best of luck to everyone in the coming seasons.
