FOFC Favourite Movie - Opening Round (Part 12)

Let's keep things moving... as always, "favourite" is left open for interpretation by the individual. A tiebreaker is decided by the IMDB rating (not tournament ranking) followed by the number of IMDB votes for that rating.

The complete bracket with results thus far can be found here.

There is still time to vote for Part 11 here and there are currently two matches that are within one vote of each other.

Stats (through part 10)...

Most Votes (one movie)
58 - Back to the Future
54 - Rocky
54 - Forrest Gump

Most Votes (matchup)
62 - The Dark Knight vs. This is Spinal Tap
61 - Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope vs. Jaws
61 - Back to the Future vs. Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind

Largest Margin of Victory
55 - Back to the Future
53 - The Shawshank Redemption
51 - The Shining
51 - Rocky
51 - Saving Private Ryan

Closest Margin of Victory
0 (24-24) - Some Like it Hot vs. Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels
2 (27-25) - Blade Runner vs. Unforgiven
3 (27-24) - Apocolapyse Now vs. Jurrasic Park

Biggest Shutout
53-0 - The Shawshank Redemption vs. Phantom of the Paradise
48-0 - Goodfellas vs. Infernal Affairs
47-0 - Inglourious Basterds vs. Andaz Apna Apna

Biggest "Underdogs" Wins
226. Monsters Inc vs. 31. Once Upon a Time in the West (26-16)

The Deer Hunter is such a good movie. Lots of good match ups here.

The Professional versus Terminator is brutal.

Fantastic group of movies. I was genuinely torn on several of the options.

It's right up there with the three matchups in the "closest margin of victory" section for me. Tough, tough call.

I've started voting a few times before coming to a stop, simply because I get to that Terminator vs. Leon match and can't decide.

I'll gladly be the solitary vote for Harold and Maude!

I picked Professional, but I loved Terminator. The Sting vs. Deer Hunter? Holy hell. Any of those four movies could have had a long run for me depending on draws. 2 will be done in round one.

Sting vs Deer Hunter is probably the toughest matchup I've seen so far!

Either one could make a deep run, too. Not just close, but good-and-close. I voted Sting but both of them make my own Top 25 or so.

I spent like 3 minutes debating that choice, by far the longest I have mulled a pick to date. Two great movies!

And Sting pulls ahead!

Still sad about Harold and Maude getting trounced. I admit 12 Angry Men is a better movie and I love it and all but H&M is just so weird it's great!

Django Unchained so overrated. Not sure why it has such a high rating on imdb.

And what's with Green Mile over Gandhi? SeriouslY?
