Pro Football Reference has a good measure, similar to the OPS+ used in baseball, that compares QB's in stats against other QB's from the same year, with 100 being exactly in the middle.

If you look at Eli's adjusted QB rating, he's barely above league average for most of his career and actually below average in 8 years of his career. His highest is a 112. Aikman has 5 years better than that and only has 3 years where he was lower than league average. Kelly was worse than league average exactly once and was 112 or higher 5 times.

Also, INT numbers are way down through the years. Here are the league averages when each of them entered the league...

Kelly - 4.4%
Aikman - 3.9%
Eli - 3.2%
2019 - 2.3%

I'm going to guess it has something to do with a perceived lack of respect. He probably gets free shit a lot. So you're insulting him if you ask him to pay for services rendered.

Patriots CB Joejuan Williams reportedly arrested, charged with three drug-related offenses

Shame that someone would risk a career for drugs.

You can throw luck into a lot of things. Was Brady lucky about the Tuck rule? Was he lucky Seattle didn't run the ball? Was he lucky Quinn and Shannahan called maybe the worst second half in superbowl history?

Yes you can throw luck into a lot of things that's why it is wrong to give 1 person all of the credit.

If the Giants defense doesn't old the Pats offense in the undefeated season SB then the Giants aren't even in the game. Brady had 50 TD passes that season, 25 of those to Moss. If the Giants D doesn't keep Moss in check, Eli doesn't get the chance to make the plays he made to help them win. Tyree deserves more credit for catching that ball than Eli deserves for throwing it.

We can go around and around. The Giants won those SB as a team and to say Eli deserves to get into the HoF because of them then so does Lawrence Tynes. He made a few FG and XP in both of those games.

We're not talking about Eli throwing for 500 yards and 4 TD in these games where he might deserve more of the credit.

As far as Brady goes, he has proven over time that he is likely the GOAT, but there was a lot of luck that played into his career. Do you think he's still GOAT if he gets drafted by the Browns or Lions? He was lucky to get drafted by Belichick.

Is this the least hyped super bowl in recent memory? I feel like people got geared up to root against the Pats. But this game is pretty meh.

I don't really watch sportscenter, listen to espn etc. 90% of my sports media intake is gambling related either on VSIN or twitter and I would say it’s the opposite. People are fired up that the pats aren’t in it and that it is an awesome matchup.

I'm really looking forward to this game. I am probably over hyping it and will be disappointed.

I think it is going to be a fun game to watch.

I like the matchup, but I have no use for two weeks of lead-up (or yeah, pregame).

Well, I might try to catch some of the yearly SB highlights marathon on NFLN starting tomorrow night.

I feel like this Super Bowl has a lot of potential to be one of those 48-10 type games, and I wouldn't be surprised if either team blew out the other.

I must be missing something.

Why are so many expecting this huge shootout? 49ers have a great defense and kind of a slow paced running offense while the Chiefs defense was much improved this year. I think like 28-24 or 31-27 either way it more like a normalized score of these two.

That plus either team, but especially the Chiefs are capable of putting up 30 points in a half.

Not sure how you define shootout, but most books opened the over/under 51.5 and its now up to 54-55, so would go over. I would call a game in the mid 50s a shootout.

to answer your question, both teams can move the ball. The niners are awesome at running the ball, but they rip off 8 YPC. They also had that bonkers game against the saints, so they are capable. They were the second highest scoring team in the NFL. I think the narrative is the niners will need to keep up with the Chiefs in the scoring department.

Wonder where Rivers goes. 1-2 year gap QB in Indy/TB/MIA? Possibly Carolina if they move on from Cam?

Also funny to hear about Taysom Hill being the “QB of the Future” in NO when he’s about to enter his age 30 season. Although I guess there’s a Steve Young type parallel in a bunch of ways.

Taysom Hill hasn’t completed two passes in a regular season game. He’s a fun player, but I’m not buying QB of the future.

Rumors are saying that Edgerrin James has been voted into the Hall of Fame.

Good for him, I wasn't sure he'd make it. I would've loved to see his career without that nasty leg injury.

Add in Jimmy Johnson and that is a nice little HOF run for former Hurricanes.

Edit: I am hoping Reggie Wayne gets in next year. As far as the Dolphins go, I don't see a path for Zach Thomas to get in. I believe he deserves to be in. Unfortunately, I don't see a modern LB (from the 80's to present) in the HOF that does not have big sack numbers or Super Bowl appearances. I hope I am wrong though.

James' 7 years in Indy were better than Craig's entire career. He even missed 10 games blowing out his knee.

Good luck to Niners and Chiefs fans tonight. I have more of a connection to the Chiefs with my dad being from Kansas and a fan than the Niners, but both certainly deserve to win. I just hope its a close game with a lot of tension and no big injuries.

Saw that as a meme floating around in our super bowl party facebook invite. Where about 10% of people are super invested in the game, maybe 20% will check in here and there, and 70% are there for the food. (I'll be in the middle group this year).

What atrocious clock management on that last sequence. And a weak - but correct - offensive PI call on a pushoff that Kittle probably didn't even need.

Pretty ok with the first half; I have to think the 49er defense will come up with a stop or two in the second half, and if the rushing game continues to impress like it did late in the first half, that's a good recipe.

A little dumbfounded by how the 49ers handled the end of that half considering Shanahan is supposed to be so smart.

Just trying to stay awake here. Thank goodness the halftime show is over. Would be nice if they could finish in the next hour and a half.

That was seriously baffling. 1 minute with 3 time outs is plenty of time to at least get into FG range. That's "playing not to lose" and you'd think Kyle Shanahan would have learned from the last time he did that in a Super Bowl.

The fourth quarter is the tricky one. It gets a bit harder every year as well, it seems. Running errands during the usually non-interesting half time noise can be helpful.
