I picked up the Day of the Devs Humble Bundle today. If anyone wants the following keys that I know I won't be using, PM me. I'll give them out first come first serve.

Lumino City
Titan Souls (CLAIMED)
Massive Chalice (AVAILABLE AGAIN)

Apparently I already had Broken Age, so I have that up for grabs too.

If you haven't played either version of Wasteland 2, it's definitely worth it.

Looks like the deals/discounts thread has a problem, so I'll post here. Titanfall 2 already discounted to $35 on Amazon.

Started / finished Firewatch last night. I totally understand anyone that either loved it or hated it.

I enjoyed the experience for the $12 I paid for it. There were some definite issues and the plot (in my opinion) didn't come all the way together, but overall I liked what they were going for.

This is stolen from one of the reviews, and I agree with it:

"This is the kind of game where the discussions that will arise afterwards are an important extension of the experience itself."

Given how short the game is, I'm likely to play through again with the "director's commentary" turned on.

Watch Dogs 2 coming out soon. Have to say, with as interested as I was before the first one came out I am equally disinterested about this one. The advertisements for it just don't pull me in (that and being disappointed by the first one).

The first Watch Dogs was basically the beginning of the end of my love for the gaming console in general.

Not sure if anyone can answer this... But for Black Friday, there was a new 3ds with a $139cdn price tag. I think the U.S. had it for $100 or something like that.

Anyway, it was sold out everywhere right away and I wasn't able to get one. I don't have a 3ds yet and was looking forward to finally diving into its library.

I'm hearing and reading conflicting reports about this only being a one-time thing vs a new version that will be restocked eventually. Does anyone know? Thanks!

The hardware sets out there feel evolutionary, not revolutionary, not a must buy in the group. And I'm kinda worried about some of the early reviews for FFXV...

Well, I guess it's cool that they added in basebuilding (although I imagine if you visit a planet you won't see other player's bases...), but it sure would've been neat if they'd managed to add a couple of the fictional features that were hyped pre-launch.

There was 10,000 copies of Stadium Events ever made (remember, the one that was the power pad game before Nintendo bought it and the Power Pad and turned it into World Class Track Meet?).. Now, there are so few copies left in the wild that for those trying to get a copy of every NES game ever produced will pay $30,000 or more, despite the SAME game (the Nintendo version) going for $3.

Somehow I doubt we'll be doing the same thirty years from now for say, Call of Duty.

anyone else having problems with the Games/Specials Discounts thread? Last I can see is a post from me that's cut off half way through so I can't edit it, and I can't see anything past that.

Also Gog.com's Winter sale has started and for the next 40 or so hours you can get Neverwinter Nights-Diamond Edition for free. This includes three expansions.

Does anyone have any PS4 recommendations for someone who played and enjoyed Skyrim, Dragon's Age and Witcher?

I'm not much of a gamer in general, but I've enjoyed those ones. When I was a kid with an Amiga, every third game that came out was an RPG, but these days it seems like there's only one good one per year even though those ones seem to do incredibly well. Am I missing something? Do we all just wait around until Bethesda's four employees get around to making a new title for their flagship series in nine years?

The Last of Us Remastered. It's not open world but it tells a story similarly and has many of the same characteristics.

I second this.

It's different from Witcher, Dragon Age, and Skyrim, but I enjoyed all of those games and absolutely loved "The Last of Us." It's easily one of my favorite games of all times and I will probably end up buying a PS4 just so I can play the sequel.

There is also the Fallout games - Fallout 4 being the most recent - which are essentially Skyrim in a post-apocalyptic future.

Shadow of Mordor should be pretty cheap by now. I think it might be the closest to the games you mentioned. If you're not stuck on fantasy, keep an eye on Mass Effect: Andromeda, which comes out in a few months.Fallout 4 is in the same boat, but it's been out for a while and you can pick it up fairly inexpensively at a Gamestop or whatever.

If you're more a story player than an open-world player, you could try GTA V or Mafia III, Mafia III had some problems, though. It is, however, another cheap option. My last ideas would be Deus Ex: Mankind Divided or Watchdogs 2. None of the ones in this paragraph are fantasy, though. Check some let's plays on Youtube to get a better understanding before you purchase.

I'm late to the party, but I downloaded the Resident Evil 7 last night and was honestly terrified from start to finish. Can't believe a game could get me in a way like that game has. Can't imagine playing it in VR....

Yeah, I did end up playing that earlier in the year and was surprised that I liked it. I don't normally go for sci-fi but Fallout worked for me.

I ended up getting one of the Fallout DLCs, hopefully that will tide me over for a while until something new comes out.

I'm amused by all the people flipping out over NES systems being available today in limited quantity. They'll be all over the place by late January. Not sure what the rush is all about.
