NFL

With the 1st pick in the NFL draft, the Chicago Bears took Bernard Blaze.

With the 2nd pick in the NFL draft, the Seattle Seahawks took Tim Sheperd.

With the 4th pick in the NFL draft, the New England Patriots took Benton Gale.

Cannon Pace was not drafted but signed a 1 year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles in the preseason.

Rob Nielsen, Avon Barksdale and Dan Ert were not drafted and have yet to sign with a team.

Ert was a surprise entrant into the draft after missing last season on Academic Probation.



















COLLEGE

Will Brown is in a tight battle for the starting position despite starting for the last two seasons.

Kuji Chagulia will be a backup for Texas.

Bobby Fredericks will start for Florida.

Dean Hoo looks like he will be the backup at QB for Temple.

Jace Hunter will be a 3rd string QB for Miami (OH).

David Krappenschitz will start at K for Michigan.

Al Mighty will start at RB for Illinois.

Al Moon will start for Miami (OH).

Dex Morgan will start at WR for Syracuse.

Avon Barksdale, Dan Ert and Rob Nielsen have retired.

NFL DRAFT

One of the biggest surprises of the NFL Draft was Dean Hoo, who despite not getting much of a shot at Temple impressed scouts enough leading up to the draft. The Minnesota Vikings took Dean with the 3rd overall pick in the draft.

Al Mighty was picked 22nd in the 1st round by the Green Bay Packers.

The New York Giants took Will Brown in the 2nd round.

Bobby Fredericks was picked by the San Francisco 49ers in the 5th round.

Mike Schaplowsky went undrafted.


FREE AGENCY

Cannon Pace signed a 1-year deal with the New York Jets.


PRESEASON

Bernard Blaze will start the season as a backup WR.

Will Brown will begin the year as the #2 RB for New York Giants.

Bobby Fredericks will be a backup.

Benton Gale will start at CB.

Dean Hoo will be 3rd string.

Benton Gale signed a 5 year, $81.26M deal with the New Orleans Saints. Gale had re-signed with the Patriots last off season but they decided the cost was too much and released him before free agency.

The Chicago Bears placed the franchise tag on Bernard Blaze.

Cannon Pace signed a 1-year deal with the Chicago Bears.

Bobby Fredericks re-signed with San Francisco for 3 years, $4.51M.

Al Mighty re-signed with Green Bay for 4 years, $5.33M.

Will Brown re-signed with the New York Giants for 4 years, $14.92M.

The Jacksonville Jaguars selected David Krappenschitz with the 11th pick of the 5th round.

NFL

Kuji Chagulia remains a free agent, but has the most potential of any free agent QB.

The Vikings released Dean Hoo after Week 6 of the season. The Vikings decided it was time to give up on their former 3rd pick in the draft.

Bernard Blaze has fought through a nagging injury to start the season and his numbers have suffered.

Will Brown has been getting a full workload for the Giants to start the season and has 478 yards in 5 games.

Bobby Fredericks is still in a backup role for the 49ers.

Jace Hunter has yet to see the field for the Raiders.

Tyler Kappe has started all games for the Colts to start the season, catching 18 catches.

David Krappenschitz has made 15 of 17 field goals to start the season, including a 53 yarder.

Al Mighty has been stuck in a time share for Green Bay.

Al Moon has started all 6 games for Pittsburgh.

Dex Morgan has been in a backup role for the Jets.

Ches O'Peake has seen little action for the Falcons so far.

Cannon Pace has started 4 games for the Bears.

COLLEGE

Al Coholic has yet to see the field this season for Troy.

Jack Dawkins has seen limited action for Alabama.

Rudy Desautel is red-shirting.

Erik Flamebeard is fighting a nagging injury, but has started the season strong.

Johnny Golden and Daniel Harrison have yet to see the field for Virginia. They will have some tough future battles for the starting quarterback job.

Dan Hoo is starting for Kent State but has a rough start.

Kevin Lee has yet to see the field, but is sporting a solid 3.88 GPA.

J.J. Schools has been impressive as a backup running for Virginia.

Mongo Slade is having his strongest season as the starting QB for Navy.
