Well...my vote lost almost every pair this time around...

Vapors vs Gotye - really tough first round match up for a high seed...but the classic alt tune wins...and sets up a very intriguing round 2...

Ram Jam vs Cochrane - another extremely tough first round match up. I knew it would be close, but being honest, I expected Life is a Highway to win the pair.

Young MC vs London Beat - knew Bust a Move was too ubiquitous to lose this pair, but the London Beat tune is pretty good, I thought it might garner a bit more support.

Lou Bega vs David Essex - similar songs in that they tend to be of the loved or hated variety. I wonder how many of the votes were actually cast against rather than for?

Frankie vs Strong - no doubter

The Church vs Sheik - This one shocked me. While I admit that I probably allowed my fondness for Milky Way to influence my opinion, I did expect the classic alt tune to carry the day.

Farris vs Lighthouse - Another tie, that Lighthouse wins in the tiebreaker.

Soul vs The Jarmels - Thought this might be a bit closer thanks to the strong showing by some other older tunes (i.e. Book of Love), but the support for this one didn't carry over.

I love Under the Milky Way. Somehow had never heard it until a few years ago.
