NCAA Top Gun 2010 Signup

Game Rules

1) Each participant drafts a team of 6 players.
2) Snake draft done on the forum.
3) You score as many points as each of your drafted players scores in the NCAA tournament.
4) One of your players must be from a team seeded 10th or lower.

IMPORTANT NOTE

This does not start until the selection show and must end before tipoff on Thursday, so it is critical that you are able to be around during the day to make picks and/or send in lists. The draft clock this year will run from 10am-6pm eastern time, everyone will have one hour to pick, after that time we move on and the skipped person can make their pick whenever they show up. Please do not sign up if you are unable to either participate during the day or send in lists long enough to cover 1-2 rounds.

Post here to sign up. The original game size was 10 people, but in recent years we've gotten 16+ and have run 2 games, I'm more than willing to do that again this year if there is enough interest.

This is always the best, unfortunately I won't be able to put in the time for it this year.

It's fairly easy and hassle-free to run, for anyone who is considering stepping up and running a second (or third) contest.

That's 18 signups by my count.

I'd gather we can have 2 games easy.

Yup, I updated the first post with everyone that has signed up so far. 2 games of 9 will work if no one else signs up, hopefully we'll get a few more though.

I'll split everyone up and post the draft threads Sunday afternoon and PM everyone.

I would like to join up. Every year, this happens, and I forget to check in on time. Hopefully someone else joins up to give another pair.

Yup, still room/time. I'll set up the drafts and PM everyone at 6pm when CBS' selection show starts.

BTW, my plan is to just stick the list of everyone in random.org's list generator, the first 11 names will be the draft order for Game A, the final 10 will be the draft order for Game B, assumption we don't get any more of course, still time to sign up if anyone has the interest/time during the week!

This year should be interesting, there is no Blake Griffen type to skew things.

I don't think he was the first pick in either game last year was he(I could be wrong but I thought Hansbrough went first in both games)? I'd actually argue that there is a Blake Griffin this year... best player in the country, top scorer on a top, but not quite #1 seed, but if you pick in the top 2 or 3 can you take Evan Turner over someone from Kansas or Kentucky, etc.

I thought of Turner, but when I went back and looked of the two teams that had Griffen one won and one finished second. Maybe just a coincidence though.

Oh I gotcha, I was thinking the draft, not just one player winning it for their team. Steph Curry did that two years ago too I think. Hopefully it'll be... uh whoever i end up getting in round 1 this year

dacman went through all the old threads and compiled an updated list of winners, thanks to him for doing that b/c I likely would have never gotten around to it

2003 : Shorty3281(nka korme)
2004 : Shorty3281(nka korme)
2005 : Radii
2006 : timmynausea & Lathum (tie)
2007 : ram & timmynausea (two games)
2008 : sooner333 & dacman (two games)
2009 : jbergey22 & Karlifornia (two games)

And added to the list this year:

2010: hoopsguy & Chief Rum (two games)

Until next year!
