TEW 08 - Ring of Dishonor
ROH Newswire
Monday, Week 1, September 2008 - The rumors are running rampant after ROH Booker Gabe Sapolsky announced he was parting ways with Ring of Honor following an altercation with ROH Owner Cary Silkin. News regarding the future of ROH is expected to come soon, but for now Silkin is getting help running the day to day operations from none other then former ECW owner Paul Heyman! - With Glory by Honor two weeks away, the question now is what direction will ROH head in? Well, the first match Paul Heyman announced should go a long way in alleviating ROH fans fears of major change, as it'll be "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson going one on one with the Necro Butcher at Glory by Honor Night 1! - Glory by Honor Night 1's Main Event was also announced, and it's a match that ECW made famous. Having seen the bloody history between Kevin Steen & El Generico and the Briscoe Brothers, Paul Heyman has announced a Stairway to Hell match to determine the number one contenders for the ROH Tag Team Titles! - We know that Night 2 of Glory by Honor will feature Nigel McGuiness defending his ROH World Title, but against who? Heyman is keeping this information tight lipped, but expect an announcement in the upcoming days. - Heyman is out scouting talent right now to continue to shape ROH's roster and make it even better then it currently is. In fact, sources within both WWE and TNA say there could be a huge name coming to ROH soon. Who it is, we cannot say, but if it is true, expect the ROH fans to come unglued at the announcement! Monday, Week 2, September 2008 - We all know Paul Heyman loves to get extreme, and it looks as if he isn't going to change for ROH either, that is why a #1 contenders no DQ match has been signed for GBH night 1! Heyman wants to see two guys go to the limit to show how badly they want the ROH World Title, therefore it'll be Chris Hero taking on Austin Aries with the winner fighting the next night vs Nigel McGuinnes! - Another Friday show match has been added, as an old ECW favorite, Jerry Lynn, will do battle with a member of the Age of the Fall, Joey Matthews! Matthews has promised that the pain he feels every day, will be nothing to the pain Lynn will feel ten days from now. - Another night 2 match has been signed as well, as Bryan Danielson will take on Davey Richards in a match many believe could be the best match of the weekend. Expect lots of hard hitting when the American Dragon takes on the enforcer of Sweet n' Sour Inc! - More smoke coming from Stamford and Nashville. While we here inside ROH know of the mystery man in question, rumor has it both Vince McMahon and Jeff Jarrett are keeping their wrestlers on their toes as they try and figure out who might jump ship and come to Ring of Honor.
