Yeah, that's why I added the "still." He's been questioned and I want to see if he's sticking by his guns.

It's pretty clear, based on Neon Chaos's description of the guard role earlier (and his subsequent confirmation as a guard) that Suicane's description of the guard role is wrong. However, I'm concerned because Suicane said he saw me moving around last night, and I was moving around. I'm not sure if he randomly saw me while he was out creaturing and killing Raiders Army or what. But, that's troubling me right now.

I wish you better luck than me on avoiding spoilers. I was cruising the Rockets board when I saw a thread titled "Harry Potter Fans". This was a day or two before the release, so I though "Hey, why not." I click on the thread and inside were HUGE spoilers for HBP in all caps, and I had been trying to avoid them like crazy. Of course, at that point I didn't know if they were true or not, but I was still pissed as hell.

And, of course, those spoilers wound up being true. Damn you DanHiggsBeard and your stupid thread, DAMN YOU TO HELL!!!

I've avoided all of the spoilers, but hearing you guys talk about this has caused me to finally start reading the series. I bought the first 4 books the other day.

I wonder if the hostage is the one that can kill the warlock. His description is that he is important to the bandits but we don't know why. Maybe it was in reference to the secret role (warlock).

Quite the bandwagon formed on Suicane75 as Jeff061's damning revelations came out. There is an air of satisfaction as you string up Suicane75, of knowing you're finally doing the right thing. Only, as he twitches on the rope, he doesn't seem to be changing into anything... Hmph. Apparently Suicane75 was only human after all, and apparently he was a Guard. You look to Jeff061 in horror but he just laughs as he returns to his tent.

After that, things happen fast. BrianD returns at the end of the day to claim another victim, and the creatures kill another that night. With so few humans left, the evil ones quickly overwhelm and kill the rest of you, except for Thomkal, who for his great services to the Warlock is converted into a creature himself!

The Warlock and Creatures win!!


One rule note - a special power of the Warlock is that he counts as two creatures for the final tally, so once you went down to 9, the nightly kill (even one of them) brought you down to 8 for a creature win.

Truth be told, I didn't know Brian counted as two or how we would win tonight. But after Peregrine said you had to get it right today I decided to lay it all out on the line.

Brian was gaining powers each time he killed someone, and one of the times we made him more powerful, instead of converting. So I figured he gain something else to put us over the top.

Henry attacked me and failed because I got converted that night. Go figure. I don't know how Fouts or I made it out that day.

That post made me pretty much know that Fouts was a bad guy since I had done absolutely nothing for him to get a message about. But by the time I had read it I was dead...

I'm amazed, frankly. Both Fouts and Jeff061 were implicated in very suspicious ways the same night yet somehow they avoided getting lynched. I think a bandwagon might have formed around Jeff the night Masked got lynched, based on initial votes, but Thomkal's plan threw everything into confusion. It wasn't a bad plan per se, but it confused everyone and ended up killing the doctor, ouch.

Fouts didn't want to since Eagle had implicated him a bit. Fouts wanted to killed you because you were a known innocent and just doing to much darn thinking. I really wanted to take out someone else hoping for a guard, good thing that didn't happen.

I think the problem was that since every lynch vote was wrong, it made it really hard to analyze. You need a couple of bad guy lynches to get good lynching information, otherwise everyone ends up looking equally guilty.

Because we needed suspects to stay alive, and you weren't one. We didn't expect Jeeber to be killed by a bandit though, and that's when Jeff went to framing Suicane.

Also, about the Warlock, he seemed very powerful, and he was, but he also may never have come into play. Honestly the all-powerful Warlock was the least likely of the options to happen, BrianD had the mysterious vials from the beginning of the game, and if he had been killed or lynched, they would have passed to someone else and slowed down the "timer" of their conversion. So really I expected them to just pass around between a few people and the Warlock to never develop, just didn't play out that way.

Boy was I screwed when Vince and Schmidty went down. No warlock yet and just me wandering around being followed by guards. Glad I converted Jeff, it worked out great.

In my PMs to the guards, they could either specify people to view or just view the camp "in general." I figured that by giving that to them specifically and not in the rules, it made their role more mysterious and they wouldn't be immediate targets like the Spies would. I never imagined it would turn out to be important to the game.

I don't remember specifically, but you said something that made me suspect you might be a creature. There was little to go on that early. The funny thing which I've been kicking myself over is that I almost went with BrianD. I switched between you two about 4 or 5 times before submitting the PM. Well at least I can say I was on the winning team at the end. I think Suicane should have also been converted because I had pegged Jeff (for seeing me on day 4 when he shouldn't have and my whole hostage theory when he came out as a Guard) and Fouts(for his convenient explanations of why he was still alive even after I got the person that was part of his "vision" to save us, the healer, killed) correctly for the first time and Suicane's "defense" made me back off. I was prepared to push for Fouts lynching until then, because I just could not fathom why he was still alive, it just didn't make any sense.

I have to say the nebulous definitions of the roles in this game is what really tripped me up and I'm not sure was very fair to the bandits. The whole what exactly can a guard do and not do It was hard to trap a creature in a lie when there was so little truth to judge them against. And of course what the creatures used to their advantage. So a tip of the hat to them for a well played ending. Thanks too to Peregrine for an interesting experience.

I didn't think I was lying about not choosing who to view until Suicane starting talking like he had. I was confident that Neon never had talked like that and the role didn't say anything about it, so I had little choice but to go with it, since I knew Thom would notice the difference between us.

Fair to the bandits? You guys knocked off 2 creatures in one night and almost won the game. I was lucky to convert someone, and then Neon saw me making those noises. Man I thought I was done.

You did rally the troops pretty well and had use worried. Luckily, you picked two good guys. I don't think anyone was going to follow your lead today, after what happened with the doctor.
