No. His story was, but not the guy in the box.

That scene might have been my favorite from the last episode. Really brought out the creepy factor but also showed what Varys is capable of (well, in fairness, the guy did clip him).

Last night's episode was fantastic. The Jaime-Brienne scene was perfect, as was the Tywin-Cersei-Tyrion scene. I think they've also done a great job with the Brotherhood Without Banners, especially for how little screen time they've had.

I agree.

I would really have loved for them to have enough time for Beric to give his speech about how little he remembers of his life, etc. They hinted at that, but it's really a cool speech.

Good episode last night. Definitely the "setup the pieces" type episode, but very enjoyable. The Tywin-Tyrion-Cersei scene was great, as were the events at Riverrun. I think the Oleanna-Tyrion scene won the night though.

The producers/writers always mentioned that all they have ever wanted for this series is to reach Storm of Swords and get it on screen.

You can really feel the passion this season to reach the final episodes. Each succeeding episode is trumping the last one.

+1 I also would have loved for The Hound to respond to "For the night is dark and full of terrors" with his "This cave is dark as well, but there's only one terror here", but they can't bat 1.000.

I think they're already past the point where the Hound would have come back to find Gendry being made a knight, which makes me sad because the lines I was looking forward to the most this season were Sandor threatening to kill Beric all over again for making more knights and then asking him to knight his horse.

Selmy is one of the best characters in the books as well, even when the storyline he is in gets dull.

Got this off a USC message board. Joffrey = Caligula. Uncanny resemblance.

I guess we were all drinking Coronas and margaritas last night?

I enjoyed this episode, although it was quite obviously another setup episode for all that is to come.

I understood the news Sansa got (her betrothal to Tyrion), but I wasn't sure what ship she was watching at the end. I might guess it was Littlefinger's as he left for the Aerie, and Sansa's chance for escape was gone, now with marriage to Tyrion instead of Loras on the horizon?

I loved Tywin getting the upperhand on Madame Tyrell. While I want the old bastard to die as soon as possible, it was about time she got a little comeuppance.

I thought the Wall scenes were done quite well, and I like what they're doing with Jon and Ygritte.

I would have liked to see some Dany scenes and things from the other side of the world, but all in all, a good setup epsiode.

I saw it mentioned elsewhere that the symbol on the ship was that of Littlefinger's.

So.....

Roz is killed by Joffrey. Littlefinger seems to have given her to him as punishment for something and he was happy to let Varys know about it....

Was it because she spoke to Varys? or something else? Did she tell Varys something of importance?

I'm a little confused and need help....

Well, Littlefinger felt betrayed, of course. He clearly saw Varys's hands in the Tyrell interest in Sansa and figured out who the source was.

It wouldn't be hard to manipulate the king into killing her either, I would imagine.

Roz told Varys about Littlefinger's plans to spirit her away to the Aerie.

Because she told Varys that Littlefinger was going to sneak Sansa away from King's Landing.

Roz was acting as a double agent. She was supposed to be one of Littlefinger's infromers, but she was giving information to Varys. She didn't like or trust Littlefinger. He found out about it and....

Who is tagging the show? Why would you tag the show? If it is a spoiler, it is coming from the books, so don't read it. Sorry it irritates you, but the people who read the books are going to talk about the show, and we are nice enough to spoiler tag for you not to see it.

One of the slower episodes, more character development but still good. Setting up for the finish. Jaime and Tywin scenes are always the best part of the show for me.

Super excited that they were able to fit in the Brienne v. Bear scene. One of my favorites in the whole series, actually. It was a great way to end the episode, and while I'm not super impressed with how they pulled it off, it was still pretty awesome.

I'm a little leery of the Ygritte - Orell thing...I think I see what's going on there, but I'm not sure it's necessary.

Yeah, I have to say that actually liking Jamie was one of the most unexpected things about the 3rd book. He was tied with his sister as my most hated up until that point.

I thought it was a decent episode, but still a little weaker than some of the recent ones. A little too thick on the relationship stuff, but maybe that needs to happen (I haven't read the books).
