I'm very happy to have had the lad with my team! His stats seems more like a good CB than a stud MLB in a 4-3.

The Staff Draft

We pick 27th

Our HC is 39 year old Craig Glaros who likes D Line. He has a suitability of 60 and I swap over to a suitability of 69, the 49 year old Josue Pomato who is good at everything save interviewing, and loves TE. He was the OC over at LV.

Our OC is 54 year old Lincoln Desimone who likes balanced and WRs. He is the best coach on the board so I make no changes.

Our DC is Joey Parcells with a horrible 49 suitability. I hire the best one on the board – 54 year old Miguel Wagner who likes the true 3-4 and the secondary. He’s good at everything save for young talent.

50 year old AC Tracy Valdes is the best one on the board and I keep him.

Our current SC is Jackson Samuels who’s not really that good at much of anything. I hire the best on the board – 58 year old Rusty Makofske and his 61 suitability.

I franchise no one.

We draft 1.2, so a stud QB would likely be picked 1.1 by the DC team. But… we have four draftable QBs! I interview them and then see if I can id some players that might be on the board at 2.2 and interview them.

I cut all of my players.

I make offers to these Abe’s Boys that are UFAs with Richmond

SLB Troutman
RT Schwartz
DE Smith
DE Flowers
CB Henry

I also offer these

OC Doebert
RB Londesbrough
RG Ramirez – from Tampa Bay, very old
SLB Lavalais
WLB Luciano

That’s 10 folks from everything from 3 O Line to 1 D Line, 3 LBs, and such.

Week 2 – Doebert signs with us.

Week 3 – Luciano and Schwartz join us

Week 5 – Troutman joins us

Week 6 – Lavalais give us three LB FAs.

Week 7 – Smith joins us but Amos heads back to Richmond for a lot less cash.

Week 8 – Ramirez joins us.

Week 10 - Our last two join us.

We sign 9 FAs in this window, including two studs in Doebert and Smith.

I’m feeling a little….draft…

The 2065 NFL Amateur Draft

DC takes QB Blake Fife, and that leaves us…

This triad to draft from…

Maumau is the top QB on the board, as scouted, with a lack of sensing rush, and good everywhere else. He’s is a solid entrant, but just 17% developed. I don’t like that he’s a scrambler.

Now let’s turn to the prospect

Hello fans of Shaun Moore. His bars are okay, but not amazing, but he is very underrated. And a scrambler too, which I don’t like, and he sucks at screens. If you’ll recall, I grabbed a very underrated guy at the top of the draft with the Rattlesnakes and he busted badly. Will this one?

And…here’s your shower. Giles was the 4th QB going into the draft with the best bars but he’s Hard to Read. I enjoy his lack of scrambling, and he’s also not good at the two-minute drill. Otherwise there is a lot to like with this guy.

So which one would you do? As Scouted and good bars? Very Underrated and okay bars? Hard to Read and great bars?

I do…

Hmmmm….with my recent first round picks and the bad luck with it, two will be awesome, one will suck, and it’ll be the one I draft. The safest bet is probably Maumau as he’s As Scouted and his bars are fine and I want to lean him but I hate his scrambling, and the lowest scrambling is the biggest game - Giles. I do Maumau…I hate it…but he’s safe and I am once bitten twice shy with this triad of terror.

2.2 – FL Greg Purdy? Maybe he’ll be my Wilcox who was never above low 60s but played his heart out pursuing the HOF. TE Deron Prior? Prior is the better player but Purdy the bigger need. Is DE Tubbs on the board? Tubbs was drafted and I grab Prior. This draft is about BAP. Everything is a need, right? Right!

3.2 – OG A.J. Grier? He’s green but solid. OT Courtney Kieta is a run specialist. WR Ernie Toniolo seems solid as well. MLB Salvador Schmac seems petty good if you want a solid ILB. SS O.J. Pagnotti? I need a good D Back more than the others… low picks though. My bigger needs are WR, DB, OG, LB and OT. I go with need and take Toniolo.

4.2 – The previous GM traded away our 4th rounder and don’t have one.

5.2 – Who do I like here? CB Pat Highcove is good at the picks and I haven’t taken a DB yet…

6.2 – OG Dustin Velasquez is a run stopping specialist. OT Duane Craig isn’t as good but he’s an OT which is more important. I am leaning towards V.

7.2 – NT Tony Schmid is a run stopping specialist. CB Jack Straw? I go CB.

Rookie Lookie #1

1.2 - QB Carson Maumau, South Carolina, 17/78
2.2 – TE Deron Prior, Miami, FL, 39/74
3.2 – WR Ernie Toniolo, Indiana, 36/61
5.2 – CB Pat Highcove, Kentucky, 31/41
6.2 – OG Dustin Velasquez, Indiana State, 23/55
7.2 – CB Jack Straw, Florida State, 32/50

There you go!

There is an UFA we interviewed before singing Doebert…

Pat Calderon! Only one OC was drafted.

Week 1 – I sign many as well as Hudson and Gomez.

Week 2 – I sign many more.

Week 3 – I sign a ton more.

I create my first depth chart and hand out 14 deactives.

Week 1 – At Augusta – We lose 17-24

Week 3 – Pittsburgh – We lose 16-0

Week 4 - Houston – We lose 26-14

Week 5 – At Cincinnati – We lose 2-34.

We went 0-4

Rookie Lookie #3

1.2 - QB Carson Maumau, South Carolina, 17/78; 25/78; 25/75
2.2 – TE Deron Prior, Miami, FL, 39/74; 43/74; 44/74

7.2 – CB Jack Straw, Florida State, 32/50; 34/48; 29/39

Lots of drops here. The biggest is Toniolo, and Straw’s wasn’t good either. Maumau held, as did Prior!

Wanna see my top two rookies? Okay!

Here was my “Safe” QB after everything and he’s not good at sending rush, 2 minute drills or timing. He’s pretty solid elsewhere. The closer the pass the better he is and he might be better in a west coast style offense, to be honest. He’s a scrambler and we can expect him to steal carries from my precious RBs.

Wanna see my 2/2 pick?

Here’s Prior, a great solid TE who can be with my team for a while. I likes him way much. He’s great at the blocking and hot and cold in catching based on what you are looking at with his severe potential case of the dropsies…

On The Green Page is… just Maumau.

Rookie Investigation

At QB – Maumau finished 3rd at QB for pot. At first with 81 was very underrated grower Shaun Moore. At 2nd with 76 pot is Blake Fife whom DC grabbed before us at 1.1. The 4th QB was shower Perry Giles and he finished with a 57 pot. We wound up with one of the good ones! Sure, he was the worst, but I’ll take it! None other than those 4 had more than 50 pot.

At RB – 2 in 60s, 4 in 50s. Light draft for them

FB – 64, 3 in 50s

TE – Prior wound up being the best TE in the draft and the 2nd one taken. There were two in the 60s, and none in the 50s. I’m glad we emerged with such a good TE. If Prior gets to 74, then he’d be the 2nd best TE in the league after Polasek at 75 for the Rattlesnakes.

WR – Five. That’s how many WRs are in the 50s, and none were higher. Toniolo was one of those five.

OC – Calderon is the top C in the draft, and Malachi is 2nd best.

OG – 1 80s, 1 70s, 4 50s. Velasquez is the 5th best OG in the draft in the mid 50s. AJ Grier we were looking at in the 3rd round wound up at 71 pot and, had I known that… I wouldn’t have taken Toniolo…

OT – 1 80, 1 60, 7 50s.

D Line – 1 80s, 2 70s, 2 60s, 13 50s. We didn’t take advantage of a deep D Line draft like we should have

LB – 1 80s, 2 70s, 1 60s, 6 50s. A weaker draft here but…the LB I was looking at 3.2? Wound up with a 80 pot and would be the best LB in the draft! Another missed opportunity with that pick…

DB – 1 70s, 6 60s, 16 50s – We really didn’t take much advantage of a deep D Back draft either. The SS we were looking at with 3.2 spot wound up with 68 pot and was the 3rd best DB in the draft! Man I screwed up that pick!

Good stuff! We finished with two studs (I consider a 70+ rating in pots to be a stud, generally with exceptions like TE where I think 60+ counts due to their rarity among others) at QB and TE, and a stud C in UFA. Yay!

Stats

Offensive

Passing

QB Maumau – 322 of 545, 3149, 8:21, 64.2

We have to get those TDs numbers up. Massively. And INTs down

Rushing

We had a split season with RB by Committee approach. Our best was Gomez with 284 for 860 and 6 scores.

Receiving

We had a solid year for FA signing Hudson and rookie Prior. I don’t think anyone else is really in the convo.

Blocking

My two FA signings were both fine in KRB for their ability. Doebert could have been better with his block %, but hey….

Special Teams

K Stewart – 18 of 22, Long of 45, 21 of 21 PAT

Good season for a guy with little opportunity to do anything…

P Hills – 106 punts, 44.7 avg, 40 in 20

Dude got a lot of workout but little avg, although his in 20 numbers were solid.

Hudson – 1 PR RET TD
CB Freund – 1 KR RET TD

DE Smith 22 tackles. Can we not run him out there on special teams there coaches? WTH?

Lavalais led our team in sexy tackles, and we had a solid 8 sacks from FA Smith as well as 6 from FA Luciano. Those are both solid sack numbers. The rest were…not great…as expected… Smith led my team with 4 FF.

This image is my 300th for this dynasty!!!

Pass Coverage

Highcove, despite his low rating, netted me a massively 5 picks and 1 pick six, and a few pasdef as well. Good stuff! I‘d love to move better dbacks into CB and S and then slot Highcove into my nickel spot. The most pasdef on my squad were Straw and Ferguson with 7 and piece.

Team Awards

Off. Player of the Year – OC Devon Doebert – Led my team in KRBs and has a very strong season. Good job!

Def. Player of the Year – DE Carter Smith – He led my team with a very solid 8 sacks and looked good. Good stuff Smith!

Special Teams Player of the Year – OJ Stewart – Just four missed FGs and nailed every PAT? Good stuff!

Rookie of the Year – See you next year when it isn’t my full team.

Heart Award – RB Kenneth Gomez - If you had told me that a 41 RB in a running back committee would have almost gotten me 1k yards, I would have paused and wondered if that was due to massive injuries. Nope! Good stuff Gomez!

We pick 1.1 and then 2.2 and rotate back and forth with the Steelers. Who do I like at the 1.1? A stud Rb or WR? I have two stud RBs – one Overrated and one Hard to Read…. I have one stud WR who’s Overrated… Well you hope for better, but no promises, eh? I interview some that might be around at 2.2.

I sign a ton of RFAs

I extend Londy and Hudson

I have 137 in cap space and 109 for new players

I make an offer to OG Ramirez to return.

I make offers to these UFAs

QB Joyner
DT Andersen
CB Bernard
CB Horn
SS Ferguson

Week 2 – We sign Bernard.

Week 3 – Andersen joins us; Joyner heads to Seattle

Week 6 – Ferguson and Horn sign with us

Week 10 – Ramirez comes back

We are heading to a certain…………………………………….draft………………..

The 2066 NFL Amateur Draft

By the bay, our 4th rounder was traded by the old GM so we don’t have a 4.2 this year.

Picking at the top spot is…the Greenville Grizzlies! Who do I take?

Let’s look!

Here is the top RB and 3rd best player on the board, the overrated Shaun Heck. He’s good at most running skills save for elusiveness and he’s great at catching. If he was better impressed? I’d buy him all day long….

This is the 2nd best RB and 7th best player on the board, Rodolfo Grogg, a Hard to Read guy. He’s not nearly as good with the run although he’s just as good as Heck in catching that ball. Hes a total gamle with worse bars.

Here’s the top WR on the board, stud-looking Kerry Welker. Maybe the son of a certain Wes? As you can see, Kerry is great everywhere although not as good in the getting downfield or adjusting as the others, although still great. He is also overrated.

When I saw three studs at positions of need I was very happy, until that impression…so which one am I doing?

Or am I taking a mulligan and grabbing a stud at another position of need?

Which gamble do you toss the dice with?

They are all gambles, but Grogg feels like the least gamble…

2.2 – OT Chance Stephens? He’s a run blocking specialist. Not amazing, but fine. NT Irving Rodriguez? I just signed Andersen but is he my new stud? CB Perry Graham? Seems pretty solid but low in the picks. I like and need all three. I just signed two DBacks in FA so I’ll skip Graham which leaves me Rodriguez or Stephens…. Biggest Need? Stephens. Biggest talent? Rodriguez. Stephens.

I interviewed Rod with an idea he’d be available and look at him! How can I pass that up? But I just signed Andersen… Talent at less need or OT at a need position?

Here’s Stephens by comparison. See that great Run B? Good stuff! He’s the 2nd player at the position right now.

Hmmm…

I do need and take OT. I’ll probably regret this after the draft…

3.1 – FB Lester Rose? DE Andrew Shire? Is SLB Kaleb Yarlagadda still on the board? I grab Rose. I need a great blocking FB with my RB Grogg. I take Rose who seems like a good grower. See you in 64!

5.1 – OG Marshall Faulk? I kid you not about the name… Is SLB Hardy Messantonio still on the board? If not I’ll grab Faulk. I grab Messantonio! He was the 2nd top SLB at 3.1 and is still on the board. He has that growing feel as well. I hope.

6.2 – CB Eugene Chandler? I do it. He also looks like a grower.

7.1 – K Marty Di Pietro? No Ks have gone yet. I take him.

Rookie Lookie #1

1.1 – RB Rodolfo Grogg, Syracuse, 52/71
2.2 – OT Chance Stephens, Kansas State, 26/64
3.1 – FB Lester Rose, WVU, 32/68
5.1 – SLB Hardy Messantonio, Pitt, 33/47
6.2 – CB Eugene Chandler, Rutgers, 37/45
7.1 – K Marty Di Pietro, Minnesota, 35/64

Hopefully that’ll be a safe draft!

I drafted rivals back to back rounds!

I move my good UFA rookie C from last year into an OG and he’s now 32/60.

My rookies!

At 1.1…

Here’s Grogg for you! As you can see he’s fine at running and picking up blitzes. He’s also fine at the catching of the balls. I likes him as my feature piece of my team!

At 2.2…

Here’s Stephens after not busting, and as you can see, he’s a great run blocker. He’s fine, and I like him but he wasn’t the sexy pick. He’ll work!

At 3.1…

Wanna see another pick you haven’t seen already? Sure thing here’s Rose! Rose is great at blocking but not strong, and he’s good at the running and catching. He’ll grow along with Grogg and be a nice complement along with him!

On The Green Page?

Just Grogg

Rookie Investigation

QB – We had one at 60 and that was it for 50 or more

RB – Grogg was the best RB in the draft with 68 pot, and right behind him was Heck at 66. We had another in the low 60s and then 5 in the 50s

FB – With a 78 pot, Rose, is the best FB in the draft. We also have a 68 and 62 in there as well.

TE – One TE at 63, 5 in the 50s

WR – Welker wounds up the 2nd best WR in the draft at 49/64, and we had 2 in the 60s, and 6 more in the 50s for a lighter WR class. I’ll need to get a good quality WR next year.

C – One stud with a 91 pot. 2 60s, 3 50s

OG – Three 70s, 2 60s (one of which was Marshall Faulk), 8 50s

OT – Stephens is the 2nd best OT in the draft with one at 71 just above him, and 2 more in the 60s, and just 3 in the 50s.

K – At 73 pot, Di Pietro is the best K in the draft.

D Line – Had we drafted NT Rodriguez at 2.2 he wound up 74 pot, compared to 66 for Stephens so a diff of 8. We had one DL in the 80s, 3 in the 70s and 7 in the 60s and 12 more in the 50s so this was a deeper D Line draft than last year and we had a shot at a better player at NT. We just went for need over value.

LB – 85, 74, 66, 5 in the 50s. It was a weak LB draft. UFA Lowe was in the 50s, and Messantonio as well so we did okay here.

DB – 2 70s, 1 67, 13 50s. Had we taken Graham at 2.2? He was the 67 one, not a bad place to be. 6.2 Chandler at 59? The 4th best DB in the draft!

Good stuff!

The 2066 NFL Regular Season

We will fast sim though this season as well as the last. I might take a deep dive into a great win or a great loss like 47-51 or something, but I suspect I’ll just fast sim this season to get to the meat of future ones that I actually care about.

Week 1 – NY – Assume that for the rest of the Grizzlies dynasty that when I call a team NY, I am always referring to the Giants, and I’ll write NY Jets, if I am facing them. We lose 17-12

Week 2 – Indy – We lose 16-10

Week 3 – Detroit – We win 27-20

Week 4 – At Carolina – We are thumped 39-13.

We are 1-3 at the first quarter…

How good is your OC in interviewing? Scouting ability? I'd lean heavily towards Moore with his sole score and sense rush bar, but the "very underrated' is only positive if the OC is very good in interviewing.

Would be a nice side story to track on all four how they are doing.

Stats

Offensive

Passing

QB Maumau – 325 of 535, 3209, 17:10, 85.0

I am Maumau’s improvement at every stat.

Rushing

RB Grogg – 258 for 931, 3.61 ypc, 4 TD

Not great Grogg. We need to do better!

Receiving

Prior led my team with catches and was 2nd in yards and Rose was 3rd in both, more than Grogg! Good stuff Rose!

Blocking

Our blocking numbers…dropped this year over last! Weird eh?

Special Teams

K Di Pietro – 29 of 32, Long of 47, 27 of 28 PAT

How did he not get All Pro? 3 missed FGs and 1 missed PAT? Great stuff!

P Hills – 110 punts, 45.4 avg, 46 in 20

All of those numbers are better that last

WR Cathey TWO KR RET TDs

TE Prior with 31 special teams tackles which led the league

Defense

Andersen led my team with double digit sacks at 10.5, his highest number ever in a single season. Smith was held to an anemic 2.5, not good enough. Luciano netted me a strong 7 sacks, and Troutman 5. With 4 ff, T Ferguson led my team.

Pass Coverage

Not only were my blocking numbers down from last year, so too are my picks and pasdef. Horn grabbed me 4 picks, and Tony Ferguson 2 and no one had double digit pasdef. Sad, n’est pas?

The 2067 NFL FA Period #1

We draft at the 1.3 spot. I’d like to get a stud WR but is there one? And will there be enough to pass the first two picks? I look to see what we have as options. We have one As Scouted good looking WR and a very overrated one that’s not as good anyway. I interview others in case my WR target is taken. I interview some OTs but there aren’t any studs here. Many studs are very overrated like SS. And many spots I want talent don’t have studs. It’s a sad draft.

I sign my RFAs. I have 52 players on my roster and they have 176 mill and I need 154 for new players.

I extend these vets in their final year – Doebert, Luciano

I’ll hold off on OT Schwartz, SL Troutman, SS Ferguson, until after the draft.

Anyone I wanna sign?

The best player in the game, 98/98 RT is available in FA, but I cannot chase him.

RB Brookins is free. Make him an offer to be my backup RB? I already have Starks so no thanks

I make a 75 mill,4 years, offer for WR Cedric D’Arcy

RT Bennett is free but Schwartz is a little better

DE Carter is free – I make him a 71 mill, 3 year offer

DT Les Greene is also free. Make him an offer? If I were a 4-3…yup! But not with us

Do I make an offer for SLB Corwin Lowther? 68 mill, 4 years later, I do so

I am chasing D’Arcy, Carter, and Lowther

Week 2 – We sign Carter and Lowther

Week 4 – D’Arcy signs

See you at the draft!!!

The 2067 NFL Amateur Draft!

We’ll slow roll this…

1.1 SF, SS Julio Wishek
1.2 New Orleans, QB Kenneth Ackley

Us!

Here’s the top WR on the board…

Take a look at As Scouted Demetrius Skudris. He’s good at everything not named courage. There’s really nothing else here to bother us about and I take him and hope.

2.2 – OT Claude Gonzales? He’s not bad but I hope to do better. Can I find a better D Line to pump up my volume? Carter, Smith and Andersen are 7, 8, and 9th year vets. What about CB Arnold Kristosik? I do him. I need a great CB more than an upgrade at OT.

Take a look at what this guy could bring! I can’t pass that up at the 2.2 spot and the 34th pick in the draft…

3.1 – LT Reggie Buckner? WLB Demetrius Hudson? I do Hudson. We are supposed to be a 3-4 after all.

4.4 – We now have 4th round draft picks again! FS Isaiah Stermer is a stud at picks and okay at coverage and run d. OG Pete Bowers? He looks good as does DE Scottie Egbert. I go Bowers.

5.3 - Hmm….who do I like here? DE Donald Murray feels like a grower, and he’s the 3rd DE on the board. I snag him.

6.2 - OT Jonathan Shalon? I like him. He looks like a grower and was the 3rd OT on the board.

7.1 – Hmmm…I do BAP and that’s MLB Keith Ellis.

Rookie Lookie #1

1.3 – WR Demetrius Skudris, Baylor, (He’s from WV!!!), 54/74
2.2 – CB Arnold Kristosik, Clemson, 34/72
3.1 – WLB Demetrius Hudson, Oklahoma, 43/64
4.4 – OG Pete Bowers, Baylor, 29/61
5.3 – DE Donald Murray, Sacramento State, 30/53
6.2 – OT Jonathan Shalon, Iowa, 15/51
7.1 – MLB Keith Ellis, Indiana, 27/50

Everyone begins with at least a 50 pot. Not too bad…

MLB Sean Powell

Week 1 – All three sign

UFAs

QB Giovanni Roque, 8/46
