League MVP – QB Carson Maumau
Super Bowl MVP – QB Carson Maumau
Off. Player of the Year – QB Carson Maumau
Def. Player of the Year – SLB Gavin Uribe

All-Pro 1st Team

QB Carson Maumau
RB Cristian Swager
K Marty Di Pietro
DE Rondell Dorn
SLB Gavin Uribe
SS Colin Carr

We got a quadfecta! That’s Di Pietro’s first All Pro as well as Swager. Just 6 All Pros for a 14-2 season, we had 8 last year with 12-4, two more losses. We grabbed both Players of the Year! Nasty stuff!

Stats

Offensive

Passing

QB Maumau – 343 of 493, 3839, 26:6, 105.1 rating

I’m surprised Maumau did so well in the awards. He was 1st in rating, 6th in yards, 3rd in TDs, and that doesn’t sound like the top prize, and I think he robbed some folks of a better prize.

Rushing

RB Swager – 375 for 1355, 3.61 ypc, 11 scores.
QB Maumau – 70 for 365, 5 scores

Swager was 2nd in yards, and scores…not sure why he was first in All Pro, maybe rec yards? Maumau’s ypc dropped this year.

Receiving

I think Skudris may be getting to show his age. He had almost a third more catches than Prior but less than 80 yards for it and his yards per catch were way below Prior. Prior a rock of my team. Rose was really down this year. Rookie Hudson had more grabs than Blanchard but fewer yards. Swager added 543 yards to get almost 1.9k yards from scrimmage.

Blocking

Darby led my team in KRB this year, and Poock was down after his All Pro season last year, I hope he’s not just a one year wonder. Wow Compton, 13 KRB in 16 games? You sucked this year…12 sacks allowed? Yuck. This wasn’t as good as last year across the board.

Special Teams

K Di Pietro – 40 of 42, Long of 46, 47 of 49

Just 2 missed FGs and 2 PATs? Nasty good! Hopefully this is the first of many long overdue All Pros for the man.

P Ellison – 87 punts, 45.5 avg, 29 in 20

A bad in 20 % and just an okay average. He’s just fine again.

We had ZERO returns for scores this year

Spencer led my team with 22 special teams tackles

Defensive

Carr and Uribe tied for 94 tackles each. Dorn’s 14.5 sacks led the league by 2.5 and Uribe was 2nd on my team tied with 9.5 with Polk who is looking better and better as a Russell replacement. Uribe led all LBs in sacks by 1.5. Hudson improved on his dismal sack numbers last year with 6.5, and Spencer was adequate with 6 although I want more from a 91/91 DT. Burgess and Phelan lead my team and the league with 6 FF each.

This is my 400th image in this dynasty!

Pass Coverage

Carr came back from his 0 pick year last year to record my team leading 5 picks, and Clinton did a great job with 5 picks and 9 pasdef. Freestone was good as my nickel and rocked 3 picks and 7 pasdef. Phelan led my team with a nice 16 pasdef.

Now I just finished my 10th year with the Grizzlies and my 3rd Super Bowl…do I move on?

Normally…yes, I think that would make sense, right? But I have an idea for a new plan…

I call it the Curtis Plan.

Curtis is 58/80 at the end of his 3rd year as a pro. Next year is the final year of his deal and the he’s a free agent. What if I went out as a new GM at the same time as Curtis? If I were staying with the same team I’d cut Maumau in the offseason and sign Curtis for cheaper and move on. But…that’s not what I’m doing here so let’s play one more year as the Grizzlies, try to win my 4th Super Bowl with a team for the first time in this dynasty, and then next year I’ll move on so I can sign Curtis to my new team.

NFL 2075 FA Period #1

We are drafting 1.32 and I scout out possible players all over my roster. I interview some WRs as Blanchard left as well as other players at LB, TE, and other places on my roster.

I sign my RFAs that I care too.

Here is my roster of last year after my signings, and you can see my roster at 43 and 6.3 mill available.

I sign LS and K.

I sign Maumau to a one year extension and drop his cap hit to 65 mill and we save 13 mill

I sign Prior to a another one year extension as well and the cap drops a few mill.

I must extend Dorn and Carr.

Poock will jump up too much in value to resign. He wants almost 100 mill for an OG that’s not that good. I have McCollam and Mauriello I’ll be fine

Fowler wants a big jump in cost and I won’t chase him either. I sign Swager for 92 mill, 4 years

I sign Darby for 4 years, 66 mill

I am out of money and down to 3.4 mill. No more extensions for rookies like Davidson and Polk and Burgess.

Week 2 – Blanchard heads to DC, Freestone to NYJ

Week 6 – Lash signs with NYG

Who’s ready for some drafting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My last one of the Grizzlies!

The 2075 NFL Amateur Draft

Picking 1.1 is…Chicago and I think they’ll go with a stud RB ranked 7.1… Harrison Adamo. Do they? Nope! They go with a stud and top CB on the board. Adamo goes…1.6 to Raleigh. Late!

The 1.32 pick arrives. I had four solid options at the 1.28 last year…who do I like this time?

OC Cyron Czycz _ the best player on the board
SLB Miguel Clements -2nd best player on the board, Hard to Read
WLB Brett Rowlette – 3rd best player on the board, Hard to Read
DE Jeffrey Molczyk – Top D Line on the board….looks great with the bars
OT Shannon Lindley – Top T on the board – hard to read

A WR I was targeting fell off the board.

I’m not going OC or OT, but I could go DE and replace Polk, or go with a quality LB.

Let’s look at the middle three.

Here’s Clements. A Solid looking SLB for the gaming fun times. Not bad, but just okay at coverage and pass rush strength.

Rowlette has a similar set of strengths and weakness but slightly worse bars.

Here is Molczyk! As you can see he’s good at run D and rushing and play D and hitting. He’s the best player of these three but the worst need as I could move my LBs.

Who would you go with? All three are gambles, two Hard to Read and one not interviewed…

Here is my DE after everything getting ready for his first year. He’s not as god as I hoped, but he didn’t bust and that’s fine by me!

Here’s my booming WR I grabbed at the end of the 2nd round. Nice and well rounded and solid. I like him.

On the Green Page? Both of these rookies!

Rookie Investigation

QB – Just one 50+ at 52. Wow.

RB – 60, 53, 51, that’s it

FB – 2 60s,2 50s

TE – 1 70, 4 50s

WR – 5 60s, 2 50s. We have the 3rd best WR after Bacon boomed.

OC – 2 70s, both the ones I mentioned in the draft held in the low 70s, 6, that’s it for 50+

OG – 85 – best player in the draft, 70, 3 60s, 6 50s

OT – 1 80s, 1 60s, 7 50s, ours is the 5th best.

D Line – 6 60s, our 69 makes our DE the best D Line in the draft; 10 50s.

LB – Clements and Rowlette tied for 70 pot and are the best in the draft, and my guy is69, so they all wound up at the same space. 3 60s, 7 50s

DB – 6 60s, 5 50s. Not that bad but not that great.

Ready for the final draft of the Grizzlies? Yeah!

Stats

Offensive

Passing

QB Maumau – 326 of 511, 3655, 23:8, 93.5

A very down year for Maumau. Very down. He’s 34 years old…is he showing his age?

Rushing

RB Swager – 372 for 1403 yards, 3.77 ypc, 8 scores
QB Maumau - 76 for 561, 3 scores

Not a bad year for Swager, but he was 2nd in yards and 5th in scores. Maumau got his ypc back up.

Receiving

Swager led my team in grabs and scores, and he had almost 2k in yards from scrimmage. Prior was solid in grabs and yards and scores. Skudris was fourth in a lot of stuff. He was injured with some doubtful during the year and clearly lost some receptions.

Blocking

Another bad year for the blocking, as you can see. Not great with no player at 30+ KRB or high block % or lower sacks allowed or high pancakes…

Special Teams

K Di Pietro – 34 of 38, Long of 45, 39 of 41 PAT

4 missed FGs and 2 missed PATs is very consistent. Again.

P Ellison – 95 booms, 46.1 avg, 27 in 20

Another Meh year…

Ivan Clinton – 2 PR RET TDS
Abel Fuller - 1 KR RET TD

Phelan led our team and the league with 33 special teams tackles.

Defensive

Hello Uribe! He grabbed me a personal best 11.5 sacks and led my team in tackles, and was nasty good. Dorn’s 14 sacks were… 2nd best in the league and just a half sack back from the league leader who was…Xavier Russell! Uribe was the 3rd best player in the league and the best LB in sacks. Spencer’s 6 sacks are fine again, but again, I’d like to get better. Polk’s numbers feel underwhelming as he got 5 sacks in two back to back games and I was expecting more. 8.5 sacks for Hudson! We ruled in sacks this year, like we have been… Uribe and Carr led my team with 4 FF each.

Pass Coverage

Another down year for my picks, and pasdef, Uribe led my team with 2 picks and 10 pasdef. Good stuff!

Team Awards

Off. Player of the Year – RB Cristian Swager – Got another All Pro, looking good Swager!

Def. Player of the Year - SLB Gavin Uribe – He led my team in picks, pasdef, tackles, and was 2nd in sacks and 3rd in the league in sacks. How could anyone else be here?

Special Teams Player of the Year – CB Ivan Clinton – 2 PR RET TDs is nasty!

Rookie of the Year – WR Graham Bacon – 32 for 406, 4 scores. Not too bad, but we’ll need better he sort of won it by default.

Heart Award – SS Devan Phelan – 33 special teams tackles? Nasty stuff!

Next? If they’ll take me? Raleigh. The Eagles finished this season with the 2nd worst record at 3-13, and they are in the NFC East.

I end the season and I score a…41

The 2076 NFL Offseason

Hall of Fame

QB Wayne Kennedy – 1.1 pick, 5 Rings, 2 league MVPS, tons of awards, bear of the Rattlesnakes and one of their triumvirate of terror

WR Heath Watson – 1.1 pick, 6 Rings, 4 All Pros, another of the triumvirate of terror for my Snakes.

RB Lester Brookins – 2.30 pick, 3 Rings, 3 league MVP, tons of other awards, picked up the challenge for my Snakes, and did very well with it!

Retirements of Note

Grizzlies

None

Rattlesnakes

None

Other Abe’s Boys

WLB Corwin Lowther - Played for Snakes and Grizzlies, drafted 1.30 in the 2064 draft, 2 Rings

FS Eugene Moore – Drafted 6.32 in 2062 by Richmond, 2 Rings as well

I move to Raleigh!

They do not have any Super Bowls during our lonnnnng dynasty…let’s change that!

Do I want to try and move Raleigh? They’ve been here since…33 and they only had 20k in their stadium last year. If I am going to have a low attendance, let’s go somewhere fun..,like my home state of WV!

Raleigh –

Here’s my current city, and we are large in population, have a good growth, and Carolina Panthers are not too close. It’s not a bad city comparatively.

So where could I move to?

Here’s Huntington WV, which is also growing, Atlantic, and looks good.

Now here is the capital of the city, with a bigger population and lower poverty level, and such.

Let’s aim for Charleston. I put in a stadium plan for outdoor/natural grass, 50k, 10k club seats and 200 boxes

Staff Draft

We draft 32nd

Head Coach – Our current HC is Cory Brady and he’s not that good. I hire the best HC available with a suitability of…actually…he’s the best. The others were taken, I keep him.

OC – Our current OC is Caleb Corbin who loves Smashmouth football and is the highest suitability guy on the table. He works well with the O Line. He’s well rounded and the best available pick on the board. To get to the best balanced OC I drop 13 suitability. I keep Caleb Corbin to see what I can do with this style of football.

DC – Our DC Retired. I hire the best one which is… Connor Beattie, well rounded, 47 years old, likes the 3-4 Eagle and the D Line.

AC – Our AC is Kirk Burnett. He’s my best so I don’t make any changes.

SC – Our SC James Holliday and he is also the best on the board.

Just one change made

I don’t offer any franchise picks so I’ll see you at FA!

The 2076 NFL FA Period #1

We pick 1.2 so I scout stud RB and WR for my team since I am bidding for QB Efrain Curtis. I am smashmouth so my preference is a stud RB. We have one top WR and RB but neither are the true stud that I want. There are two solid QBs at the top of the draft that the #1 team may want, and I interview each. Then I interview players that might be available 2.2.

I review my current roster. Any Abe’s Boys on it? Nope! I cut everyone.

I make offers for these Abe’s Boys

QB Curtis – 4 years, 62 mill
TE Deron Prior – 1 year, 27 mill
OG Troy Poock – 4 years, 75 mill
OG Gavin Mauriello – 3 years, 25 mill
RT Kody Davidson – 5 years, 110 mill
LT Andre England – 4 years, 36 mill
P Owen Ellison – 4 years, 47 mill
K OJ Stewart (was an UFA for me in year one of Grizzlies if you’ll recall) – 2 years, 8 mill
DE Bucky Polk – 3 years, 97 mill
WILB Kai Fowler – 3 years, 27 mill
SILB Thurman Burgess – 3 years, 40 mill
CB Paul Bowman – 3 years, 26 mill

Ready?

Week 2 – Poock, England and Curtis sign with us! I up my bid for Polk by 10 mill to go 5 mill over a team outbidding us.

Week 3 – We sign Mauriello and Polk. I increase Davidson;s deal to go over someone outbidding us.

Week 4 – Davidson signs

Week 5 – Burgess and Bowman join us

Week 6 – Mauriello arrives

Week 7 – Prior comes in

Week 9 – Ellison comes

Week 11 – Stewart joins us

We sign every target!

See you at the 2nd pick in the draft!!!

We had a save snafu (I hit autodraft and save again) and am rebooting the offseason. No changes to staff, and my UFA does not have Prior and they franshied Polk, but it does have Swager, whom I make an offer for despite two great RBs at the top of this draft because he's not a risk.

The 2076 NFL Amateur Draft

Picking 1st is the Dolphins and I think they’ll take the top RB on the board with a 6.5 rating…they went QB instead.

Who do I like here?

CB Winston Riley – Top player on the board, Underrated
C Bryan Wolfe – 5th best player on the board, Very Underrated, a bit high for a C but the only major O Line I need.
WILB Roberto Benton – Top LB on the draft, Overrated, red flag
WLB Les Hampton – 2nd best LB on the board, Underrated
WR Trey Birkholz - The top WR is rated way back at 5.6 and is As Scouted.

I need my triumvirate, but I don’t have a good WR here to take a shot with. My favorite are Hampton, Riley, and Trey Birkholz who is need but not value.

Here’s Birkholz. As you can see he’s not great, but he’d suit. I doubt he plays as well as a 1.2 normally would expect to do so.

Here’s the top player on the board and Riley seems to be pretty sexy keen and cool! And underrated!

And here is Hampton, and we are a 3-4 after all, and Hampton is well rounded and underrated.

Which of the three would you do?

I’m leaning towards CB because I have two talented LBs but none really at DB.

2.2 – Who fell? Who do I like here? I take WR Dean Springfield who looks pretty solid. Wanna see?

Springfield is the 4th best WR on the draft right now but looks to have some sexy bars. Hopefully he’ll hold!

3.2 – TE Donte Holmes? MLB Cary Marshak? SS Griffin Anthony? I do Anthony.

4.2 – Wait…I just checked….and Hampton has fallen? I take him!

5.2 – Another LB fell, name of Charles Wagener. He’s okay in bars, and very underrated. I’ll show you..

Will he grow? I guess we’ll find out together!

6.2 – OT Kirk Burke looks like a grower

7.2 – The Bap is.. DE Maurice Ondes. I take him.

Rookie Lookie #1

1.2 – CB Winston Riley, Wake Forest, 50/78
2.2 – WR Dean Springfield, Tennessee, 31/71
3.2 – SS Griffin Anthony, Houston, 27/55
4.2 – WLB Les Hampton, Colorado, 32/78
5.2 – MLB Charles Wagener, Baylor, 42/59
6.2 – OT Kirk Burke, Colorado State, 13/47
7.2 - DE Maurice Ondes, Washington, 22/43

Baby’s first draft class! Awwwwwwwwwwwww. Isn’t it cute?

Our measure to move to WV passed 53.7%!

The 2076 NFL Preseason

I hand out rests and make my premiere depth chart!

I move Hampton to SLB and Naumoff to WLB.

Week 2 – At New England – We lose 13-34

Week 3 – Buffalo – We lose 23-13

Week 4 – At Vegas – We lose 14-26. Very consistent scores.

Week 5 – Miami – We lose 37-17. Every game we scored between 13-17.

We are 0-4.

Rookie Lookie #3

1.2 – CB Winston Riley, Wake Forest, 50/78; 57/77; 59/80
2.2 – WR Dean Springfield, Tennessee, 31/71; 35/69; 36/68
3.2 – SS Griffin Anthony, Houston, 27/55; 30/67; 32/63
4.2 – WLB Les Hampton, Colorado, 32/78; 40/78; 43/75
5.2 – MLB Charles Wagener, Baylor, 42/59; 50/53; 55/68
6.2 – OT Kirk Burke, Colorado State, 13/47; 17/47; 17/37
7.2 - DE Maurice Ondes, Washington, 22/43; 24/36; 26/41

Riley rose a bit and Anthony was down from camp but up from draft. Can Springfield be my stud? I had an early 2nd rounder with one of my teams named Wilcox in the mid-60s who was the best of them all and was amazingly consistent and over 1000+ even in his debut season and was in the HOF. Will Springfield be my Wilcox? If so we got all of our triumvirate this year from FA and the draft.

Hampton dropped a bit, Wagener rose and I move him to SILB and we’ll start him there, Fowler dropped to 53/53. Burke busted instead of growing. As did Ondes

Top 5 UFAs by Pot

C Kelvin Richardson, 27/66; 34/67; 37/62
MLB Julian Naumoff, 15/62; 20/62; 20/37
C Roberto Mitchell, 27/59; 31/55; 31/51
SILB Johnnie Gaines, 21/59; 26/56; 25/49
DT Ralph Larry, 24/54; 30/51; 25/40

Even with the bust, Richardson is a fine emergency starter at OC until I find my guy. Naumoff was a big bust and I move him from starting at WLB. My great UFA class all dropped…not good.

I cut player to get to 53

Mauriello dropped to 25/25. I can’t cut him as he is injured, so I deactivate him. I hand his starting gig over to a UFA.

Wanna see my top two rookies after the draft?

Let’s start with Springfield who I am hoping will be my Wilcox. I like him a lot! He’s well rounded with getting downfield his works and avoiding drops his best.

And here is Riley, a stud at CB, a key place to get one, and the top ranked player in the draft at the time of the draft (not now, but he’s good!). I enjoy him a lot and hope to use him and SS Anthony to lock down the passing game. My LB Corps is good, my secondary okay, my O Line is fine save for one OG, I have one member in my WR Corps, and my RB and QB are great, although I need a good FB, TE, and more WR. But as you can see, my D Line is all horrible after the reboot without Polk. In the last sim they cut TE Prior and let Polk go, and here they franchised Polk and then cut Swager to make that work financially under the cap.

The Green Page? Riley 2nd, Springfield on there as well!

Rookie Investigation

QB – This was another one QB draft with one at 67 and that’s it for 50+ dudes.

RB – 1 71, and then 3 50s. Light.

FB – 1 at 68 and that’s it. Very light.

TE – 66, 2 50s, Very light

WR – 75, Springfield at 68, WR we were looking at at 1.2 was 65, 58, 57

OC – 78, 62 – us, 5 50s

OG – 76, 2 60s, 6 50s

OT – 2 low 60s, 5 50s

DL – 83, 70, 6 60s, 7 50s

LBs – At 75, Hampton is tied for the best LB in the draft. At 68, Wagener is the 6th best.

DB – With an 80 pot, Riley is the best DB in the draft, and SS Griffin is the 4th best. Riley is the 2nd best player in the draft after a 84 pot DE.

Good stuff!

The 2076 NFL Regular Season

With my full triumvirate assembled (hopefully) I think we’ll get more in the 5 or 6 win season rather than my normal 2-14 or 3-13 or 1-15. My hope is that this is a one year transition not two or more, although we’ll see.

As a reminder I don’t deep sim the first season of a dynasty as nothing is happening.

Week 1 – At NY – We thump them 27-12! We win our first match!

Week 2 – Cincinnati – We lose 24-10

Week 3 – Arizona – We lose 13-7

Week 4 – Richmond – Hello old friends! We lose 14-3

Week 5 – Detroit – We lose 20-6

Week 6 – At Green Bay – We lose 3-31

Week 7 – At DC – We lose 13-26

Week 8 – BYE

Week 9 – At Chicago – We lose 14-17

We are 1-7 at the half

Week 10 – NY – Can we sweep them? We lose barely 16-17

Week 11 – Greenville – Hello! We lose 10-26

Week 12 – At Cleveland – We lose 27-7

Week 13 – At Tampa Bay – We lose 14-20

Week 14 – Baltimore – We win 22-13

Week 15 – At Greenville – We lose 3-28

Week 16 – At Pittsburgh – We lose 17-27

Week 17 – DC – We lose 14-28
