East Coast Leage -- PLEASE PICK ONE MORE CONFERENCE ... Details inside
Assuming that we use 3 conferences with 4 teams each. Which 3 conferences would you all want to use? I would definitely include the ACC and SEC in my preferences... The 3rd for me would be a toss up between the Big10, BigEast, and BigXII...
What are your thoughts? Here is a list of teams under 80 from a previous post... JUST TEAMS UNDER 80: ACC: Virginia--79 North Carolina--79 Boston College--77 Wake Forest--77 NC State--77 Duke--77 Big 10: Michigan State 79 Indiana 79 Minnesota 77 Iowa 74 Big 12: Oklahoma State 79 Colorado 79 Texas A&M 77 Kansas 77 Iowa State 72 Baylor 67 Big East: USF 79 Rutgers 79 Pittsburgh 79 Louisville 79 Connecticut 74 Syracuse 72 Pac 10: Washington 79 Washington State 77 Oregon State 77 Stanford 74 SEC: Arkansas 79 Kentucky 77 Mississippi State 74 Vanderbilt 72 Last edited by DeToxRox : 06-22-2008 at 07:09 PM. |

My preference:
1. Big East 2. (Fuck the) ACC I think these two should be obvious choices because of the number of options in both leagues and the relative parity throughout the conferences. 3. SEC Agree with the majority in keeping it an "east coast" league in its truest form. |

Right now the tally looks as follows:
ACC: 6 Big East: 5 SEC: 5 Big Ten: 1 It's looking like the ACC, Big East and SEC will be the selections but until more people vote nothing is final. |

ACC, Big East, Big 12
I chose those because it gives the most options of teams to choose from.

The ACC is up to 7 votes, so it's officially in. One more for the Big East and we have two conferences set.

ACC, SEC and Big 10.
Each one of these divisions will have very tough in conference schedules every year. It will make it harder for people to get to the top of the conference and make the non-user games more competitive. I highly doubt anyone could win the conference first year or even second year which gives more incentive to keep playing and improving. Recruiting seems to be a mixed bag to me. The ACC and SEC will have huge pull due to their conference prestige but at the same time there are a lot of teams to compete against for talent. I do have to say that between the Big 10 and Big East the Big East would likely have more recruiting overlap with other human players. Last edited by Ironhead : 06-18-2008 at 07:42 PM. |

7 of 12 votes for the SEC now. Looks like we're set with the ACC and SEC. It'll come down to the Big East, Big 12 or Big 10.

Big East: 6
Big Ten: 4 Big 12: 2 We need 3 more people to vote. One more vote for the Big East, and we have our three conferences. |

I am basically fine with any of the three... I think that having the Big10 or BigEast would allow for more natural OOC rivalries to develop though...

Yeah, I'm really hoping to see the Big East pull it out (even just for more team choices).

We are officially set. I will PM everyone who has not been active in these polls to make sure they are still interested before we pick teams. We will draft teans so please post ideas on the fairest way to do this in this thread.

I think we have someone use a random number generator determine the draft order and then we go through the list and pick teams. Pretty simple. Maybe we could even have the commish from the other league (is that EF27?) do the honors so as to make it more fair.

That sounds like a good idea... Will we pick now or wait until the game is out and we can play around with the teams first? Also when do we plan to start the season? 1-2 weeks after the game is released? 3-6 days after the first named rosters are released? |

Yeah, I would DeToxRox to do our random number generator when the time comes to do the draft order. I'd be glad to do it for you all.

We're expanding to one more conference as the availability of teams i nthe conferences we picked didn't leave much to desire.
So of the remaining conferences please choose one. |

Big 10...
Not real sure why we are going with an extra conference so quickly but whatever... I am not hard to please... I liked the idea of 3 conferences... |

The problem we've run into is that the three conferences we decided on really limited the options for picking teams.

I'd also like to point out that the other league is using the Big 12.
If we went with the Big Ten, it would add a little more difference between the leagues. Last edited by RedKingGold : 06-24-2008 at 07:45 AM. |

But they all have 4 teams in them and none of them are rated horribly? If we don't plan to switch teams down the line then 4 teams in each of those conferences should be fine right? I must have missed the discussion about adding another conference... Last edited by BigDPW : 06-24-2008 at 08:17 AM. |

The problem was if you have no desire for say, an SEC team other then Vandy. You pick last, well the other two conferences are booked up, and now you gotta choose a team you don't want. It just helps people have a few more options come pick time. |

I think people would just pick from the remaining teams fine... I know I would play with pretty much any team even though I would prefer NC State... It is all good though whatever the league wants is cool with me... I am just happy to have some guys to play and the more games I get against human opponents the better... |

Yeah seems there is already apathy setting in on our league... Meanwhile the night owls are drafting and keep on posting in their thread...
Hope this isn't a sign of things to come... |
