I QUIT THIS STUPID LEAGUE!!!
Please someone leave me a spot in the Big East so I can destroy Jets. I really don't mind, I'll obviously be doing my own dynasty with RU so playing with another team will be fun too. Last edited by Logan : 06-29-2008 at 07:08 PM. |

I was going to say, perhaps we were a little hasty in adding a 4th conference. Perhaps opening an additional spot in the other three leagues would be a better call?

I am cool with 3 conferences... I don't think we ever really voted again for the 4 conference idea anyway... But either way I am happy that I get to run with my Wolfpack! |

Pitt shouldn't even be an eligible team. With real life head coaching removed from the picture in a video game, they should be like an 87.

Either way with the conferences, options are limited at a point. I just feel like the more options are four conferences.

Sorry - didn't realize were were going at a screaming pace weeks before the game would come out.
*shurg* Anyway. I guess I'll take UVA, but I have no idea what the teams are like so I think it's crazy to be picking teams now. I have zero idea if they fit what I want.

The point I tried making in one of my posts about this is the following...by selecting UVA, you've completed the ACC league, and BC, Wake, and Duke can't be used by anyone else. I believe (and correct me if I'm wrong) that we decided people could switch their teams once the game comes out. So if you don't like UVA, you could switch to one of those teams available in the division (or work out a swap with someone else). Say you get the game and you decide UVA isn't for you...you then can mess around with those 3 teams to see which you would rather play with. Now let's say we waited until the game came out. Are you really going to give all 22 teams a shot to see which you like best? And even then, you have to worry about someone picking (in your case) potentially your four most preferred teams, leaving you with your 5th option. What you would probably do (not trying to put words in your mouth, but for purposes of the example) is figure out a few teams you would like to try out, play a lot with them, and decide which you would go for. But then again, someone might grab them before you have a chance. My point is that this method allows you a much more direct way to see if a team "fits" you. |

I am pretty sure that UVA runs a 3-4 defense and uses primarily a single back offense from my memory having played them so many times. |

Like Logan said, this is not final by any means. We still may switch to a 3 conference system if people hate their teams and see teams in full conferences they like. For now it is four conferences and we'll play it by ear.
This is nothing official, just a way to claim a team you may covet and go from there. Picking a team is not even required right now. It is okay to pass. |

Yeah, no offense at all to Jets and KWhit, but I figured it would be a blast to go up against you two.
Consider this an official invite to Jets though for a non-conference matchup. |

Well, looks like I get shafted with either Kentucky or Louisville. Heck, I'm not even sure I know how to spell Louisville.
I think you jokers who voted for the big east should have to take a team there. Well, we are definately on our way to getting things wrapped up. I wonder what it would have been like if we stuck to bottom tier conferences? Something like Sunbelt, MAC and whatever else sucks. |

Remember, Gram, nothing is final. If the last four guys decide they detest their teams we can see if three conferences works better. For now four is ideal but by no means is this the be all end all.

South Florida is a great team to play with in this game. The only reason I went away from them is because I know nothing about the Big XII and I think it'll be an interesting experience. But with USF, you get a pro stadium to play in, a big-time dual threat QB in Matt Grothe, a gamebreaking RB in Mike Ford, and maybe the best DE in the country in George Selvie. |

Instead of having 4 teams that I can't pick from, I will have somewhere around 18 teams I can't pick from. There are 12 people in this league. If I am the only one that doesn't like my team, I get a whopping what - 3 other teams to choose from? If one other person decides they don't like there's AND they're in another conference I get a few more to pick from. This method SEVERELY limits my ability to try a few teams and pick from actually playing them in game. Unless a large number of people decide to switch (not likely) then my options are limited and i'm flying blind. Would I try all 22 teams? No, but I'd have more freedom to check out several teams to find one that fits my style rather than being shackled to a few teams.

See my post in the pick teams or wait thread. If you feel like this will seriously hamper your enjoyment of a league that's purely for fun, I'm sure we can find a replacement for you, and no hard feelings at all.

A couple of things:
Do we thing cmp is going to show up anytime soon? Why are so many people avoiding the SEC? I think that it is golden that all the teams are still available in that league... Oh and Mike - The Wolfpack is on the prowl and ready to rip through Kenan like you have never seen before!!! The Tarholes are gonna feel the pain... |

I think most people are staying away from the SEC because they don't want to get mauled the first year or two of conference play. The perks would obviously come in recruiting. I gave Arkansas a decent look but as a Falcons fan the thought of having even a digital, unnamed version of Petrino as coach made me want to vomit.
