The Quest for Seven: An NBA 2k11 Dynasty

I didn't plan on writing a dynasty about NBA 2k11 because the game has such good record keeping, which is part of my reason for writing dynasties. However, I realized I can't see past award winners and some other stuff I'd like to see, and I'm having a lot of fun with the 76ers. So, I decided to write yet another dynasty. First the settings:

Pro 12 minute quarters using The Purist's Sliders, except I've toned down steals as he has them too high in an attempt to up turnovers (which I think are fine where I have them at.)

I'm already in my 2nd season. I play one game and then sim 2. I'll do that throughout the entire regular season. I plan on taking a bit more of a macro look than I have in other dynasties. I also plan on writing up briefer game summaries but more focus on stats and stories around the league. With that being said. Let's take a look at the current state of the 76ers.

Edit: I found past award history including from many years in the past. But, I still am going to write this dynasty as I enjoy recapping stories.

Our first season under Doug Collins we went 30-52 and got ourselves the #12 pick. We traded away PF Doug Brackins and the #12 pick to move up 6 spots to get a beast of a PF who I had fallen in love with during the workouts and he has really made our team so much better defensively and on the boards. The only player I lost who I regret after the 1st year was Spencer Hawes. I loved his outside shooting, but he was unhappy splitting time with Mareese Speights who had a higher upside in my opinion.

We are playing very good basketball with 5 of our losses coming during a stretch where Evan Turner was hurt. Still, we are 15-6, good for first in the Eastern Conference and I think this is a team that has a great young core that could compete for multiple championships. We play to run the fast break a lot and slow it down if we can't get on the break.

A look at the roster:

3rd year PG Jrue Holiday is everything I could hope for in a PG. He's got good size at 6'4 180. He's developed a very nice outside shot. He has good speed and he's a very good passer. He's also an important part of our elite perimeter defense. In 21 games this year, he is averaging career highs with 11.3 ppg, 7.8 apg, and 2.1 spg in 21 games. He's rated 79 overall.

Evan Turner showed huge growth after a very solid rookie year and is now one of the top 10 shooting guards in the league. His great outside shot is making for some easy assists for Holiday. He is 6'7 205 and has terrific handles, a great shot, and a good inside game. I think he's going to end up one of the top players in the game. Rated 84 already. He's averaging 19.8 ppg, 5.0 rpg, and 3.5 apg.

Andre Iguodala is starting at SF. He's 6'6 207 and 27 years old. He is the oldest starter on the team. He's developed his outside shot this year a bit. However, his strength is his finishing around the rim. Great passer for a SF. Averaging 15.7 ppg, 6.9 rpg, and 5.1 apg. Highest rated player on the team at 88.

Bernie Jefferson is an old PF for a rookie, but I loved him. The 4 year starter from Seton Hall compared to Dirk by our scouts, but I don't see it. Maybe in the future. He's got an ok outside shot, but his strengths are his defense, rebounding, and athleticism. He is a beast on the inside with tremendous quickness and dunking ability. He's 6'10 255. He's averaging 8.6 ppg and 9.1 rpg along with 0.5 bpg. Rated 77 overall.

Marreese Speights is 6'10 245 and 24 years old. He's got a nice little midrange jumper that really works well with our group. He's averaging 10.9 ppg, 6.0 rpg, and 0.8 bpg. Rated 74 overall.

Thaddeus Young is our 6th man and doing a great job of playing the 3 and the 4. Very athletic with a nice outside shot. Very good perimeter defender. Averaging 14.3 ppg, 4.0 rpg, and 1.5 spg in just 27.6 mpg. Rated 77 overall.

Elton Brand isn't happy since we dropped him from the starting rotation for Bernie. Still, he is doing ok as a role player. At 6'9 255, he can still hit the 12 foot open jumper which is valuable. He's 32 and starting to show the signs of decline. Rated 76 overall. He's averaging career lows of 8.5 ppg, 5.8 rpg, and 23 mpg.

SG Michael Redd was our big offseason pickup as he signed a 2 year deal for the MLE. He started for 3 weeks while Turner was hurt and was a big help. He's 6'6 215 and 32 years old. Still a reliable outside shooter. He's averging 7.3 ppg, 1.7 rpg in 16 mpg.

PG Louis Williams is going to be hard to keep. He is very unhappy at his minutes. He's a quick good shooting PG at 6'2 175. He is demanding a trade. Still, he is a valuable backup and I may hold onto him unless I get great value. He's averaging 4.9 ppg and 1.6 apg in 12 mpg.

SF/PF Andres Nocioni is a good 3 point shooter who helps add some scoring on kickouts. He's 6'7 225 and 32 years old. He's averaging 2.6 ppg and 2.3 rpg in 9 mpg. He's rated 66 overall.

SG Jodie Meeks is 6'4 208 and 24. He isn't playing at all and will probably leave as a FA next year.

SF Jason Kapono is only playing when we need 3's badly. He's 6'8 215 and 30 years old. He is rated 56 overall. He's averaigng 1.6 ppg 3.6 mpg. He's delighted with his role.

Rookie PG Norm Baylor is 6'6 177 and is a very raw player. Our 2nd round pick might get some PT still if we trade Williams. He's rated 55 overall and unhappy at not playing at all.

A back and forth game has up 65-64 at the end of 3 after Redd rattles off 8 straight points. It was a back and forth 4th quarter with Granger hitting EVERYTHING. We had a 88-83 lead with 2 minutes left, but Granger hit a pair of 3's and we missed our shots. We got the ball back with 15 seconds left down 92-91. We set up Iggy for a wide open look from 16 feet for the game winner but he missed it as time expired.

Granger with 36 points, 8 boards, and 4 assists. Hibbert with 21 points for them. Hawes is now on the Pacers and he only played 14 minutes and had 4 points. He is playing 3 less mpg and scoring 3 less ppg for the Pacers than he did with us.

Iggy led us with 22 points, 9 boards, and 3 assists. He shot 10 of 18. Jefferson with 20 points and 11 boards. He shot 8 of 9, mostly putback dunks and layups. Turner with 18 points, 3 boards, and 2 assists. He shot 6 of 17. Redd with 11 points. Holiday with 10 points and 9 assists.

I'll be following, as usual. Were there any major changes in the offseason due to free agency / trades? I notice that the East looks to be off to a better start than the West.

Do you schedule any practices for off-days? Did you use a downloaded draft class, or game generated one?

There were quite a few moves. I'll try to backlog them tonight.

I usually do shoot arounds before games. Depending upon how busy the week is, I'll go light sometimes and normal intensity others. I'm using game generated drafts.

We are 18-8. Boston is right behind us at 17-9.

Correction, Jermaine O'Neal is starting at C for the Celtics who jump to a quick 2-0 lead on us on a quick shot by Garnett. Turner answers right back. Turner gets 2 fouls on Allen pretty quick and Andre is giving Pierce fits. However, Rondo is giving Holliday a tough time.

Turner and Speights with a nice pick and roll to get a 2nd foul on Garnett late in the 1st. We are up 20-11. At the end of the quarter, are up 24-19. Iggy with a huge quarter with 6 points, 4 boards, and 3 assists already. Garnett leads the Celtics with 6.

While I rest Iggy for a few in the 2nd, the Celtics tie it at 36. They rest Rondo and we go on a 9-0 run before he comes back in.

At the half, we are up 52-41 as Speights is having a career night. He's playing great pick and rolll and working hard on the offensive boards too. He has 19 points and 6 boards. Iggy with 15 points, 4 boards, and 4 assists.

We jump to a 10-0 run to start the 3rd. Everyone hitting shots and playing great defense. We had a 20 point lead, but I rested Iggy for the last few minutes in the 3rd and they cut it to 13. 79-66 at the end of 3.

They close within 3 before I call time and get Holiday back into the game who promptly hits a 3 and steals it to find Turner on the fastbreak. Turner with a dunk and a 3 point play. Pierce is on fire and ties it up at 89 with 6 straight points.

Iggy and Jefferson with a pick and roll, Iggy with a perfect pass to Jefferson for a dunk and the foul. Jefferson completes the 3 point play. 92-89 with 3 minutes to go. Next possession, Jefferson spins off Garnett and dunks it. 94-89. Pierce with a 3. Holliday with a 14 footer. 96-92.

Iggy with a great drive to get the foul. 98-92 after he hits a pair of FT's. Andre with a steal and he throws it ahead to Jefferson who slams it home on the fastbreak.

We win the game 101-95. Great home win for us.

Pierce led them with 30 points. Rondo with 13 assists. Big Baby with 14 points and 10 boards. We held Allen to 4 of 14 shooting. Garnett was held to 5 of 13.

Iggy with 28 points, 9 assists, 5 boards, 3 steals, and 2 blocks in the win. He shot 9 of 15.

Speights finished with 19 points and 9 boards. Turner with 15 points, 6 boards, and 3 assists. Holiday with 15 points, 5 boards, and 5 assists.

Jefferson with 11 points, 7 boards, and 2 blocks. Redd and Young each with 5 points. Young also had 4 assists. Brand with 4 points and 4 boards.

Today we play at Memphis. They are 10-19 with a rating of 78. We are 21-8 with a roster rating of 84. Our defense is #1 in the NBA in scoring allowed at 88 ppg.

The Grizzlies' show all of the defense of a sieve in the 1st quarter as we jump to a 28-22 lead early with Turner and Iggy leading our scoring.

At halftime, we are up 53-40 behind a huge 2nd quarter by Iggy. He did it all this half. 17 points, 7 boards, and 3 assists at the half.

Gay was tearing us up in the 3rd quarter, until he and Nocioni collided late in the quarter. Gay is hurt and it looks like it is serious. We lead 69-64 with 3 minutes left when it happens.

At the end of 3, we are up 79-70. Word is that Gay has a level 3 ankle sprain that will keep him out 4-6 weeks. He had 31 points this game before the injury as he was hitting everything.

Iggy with a great 4th quarter to help us put it away. 105-86 win.

Iggy is the player of the game with 33 points, 9 boards, 6 assists, and 1 block. He shot 10 of 17, 1 of 3, and 12 of 15 from the line.

Holiday with a career high 14 assists vs 4 turnovers. He also had 3 points, 4 boards, 4 steals, and a block.

Turner with 18 points, 3 boards, 3 assists, and 2 steals. He shot 7 of 16.

Speights with 16 points, 6 boards, and block. He shot 8 of 13.

Nocioni with 9 points in just minutes. He shot 3 of 4 from the arc.

Jefferson with 8 points, 8 boards, and 2 blocks.

Brand with 7 points and 5 boards. Redd with 4 points in 10 minutes. Young with 4 points and 3 boards in 18 minutes. Williams with 3 points and 1 assist.

Gay led them with 31 points. Mayo had 14 points but he shot 6 of 24.

The Nets have lost 10 straight and are rumored to be about to fire Avery Johnson.

John Wall unseated LeBron for player of the week. LeBron had won it for the last 8 weeks in a row. Kobe has won it again and is up to 9 games in a row. Kevin Durant and Dirk each won it once earlier in the season.

LeBron and Kobe both won player of the Month in December. They also won it in November.

Simon Reid and Cam Campbell both won Rookie of the Month again.

The Lakers are shopping Lamar Odom.

Our next game is hosting the 11-20 Nets who are 0-10 in their last 10. Can I put the final nail in Avery Johnson?

2 trades today. The Raptors trade Joey Dorsey and their 2012 1st round pick to the Wizards for Javale McGee. McGee is a 7'0 252 pound 23 year old center who is rated 70 overall. He is a solid rebounder with good potential. Dorsey is a 6'8 270 pound PF who is 28 and is rated 65 overall. He is a very good rebounder who is close to his potential.

The Wizards were busy. They also traded Andray Blatche to the Thunder for Monty Frazier. Frazier is a 20 year SG who was the 23rd pick in last year's draft. He is rated 67 overall and he has ok potential. He is only averaging 3.1 ppg. Blatche was unhappy in Washington and is clearly the better player right now. He is a 6'11 250 pound 25 year old PF/C who is a good inside scorer and rebounder with decent potential. He is averaging 14.3 ppg and 7.7 rpg.

Mario Chalmers has been hurt for a month but he has been cleared to return to practice for the Heat.

Our next game is hosting Indiana. We are 29-9 and 9-1 in our last 10. They are 18-20 and 3-7 in their last 10. Our roster rating is 85 and theirs is 79.

Iggy with very good defense on Durant in the 1st quarter. We lead 19-18 at the end of 1.

Durant goes off in the first few minutes of the 2nd and quickly pushes them to a 27-22 lead with 9 straight points.

Durant has helped lead them on a 21-3 run! Down 39-24 with 5 minutes left in the half. I'll be very happy to make it to the NBA Finals, but this team is going to be major trouble if we meet them there.

At halftime, we are down 50-36. Durant was unreal that quarter. He has 22 points at halftime.

In the 3rd quarter, they add injury to insult as a hard foul by Haywood hurts Jefferson bad! Bernie broke his arm it looks like

We close the gap in the 4th, but never get closer than 10. We lose 96-81.

Durant finished with 43 points, 9 boards, and 2 steals against us. Westbrook with 20 points, 9 assists, and 4 steals.

Turner led our team with 21 points, 8 boards, 3 assists, 2 steals, and a block. He shot 7 of 14.

Holiday with 10 points, 7 assists, 5 boards, and 4 steals. He shot 4 of 11.

Williams with 14 points. Jefferson with 9 points and 8 boards before he got hurt. Iggy with a horrible game, 3 of 15 shooting, 8 points, 9 boards, 3 assists, and 3 steals.

Jefferson is out for 6-8 weeks with his broken arm It is a good thing I didn't trade Brand as he was demanding. He moves back into the starting lineup and playing major minutes. Meanwhile, I look through the D-League for a backup PF/C.

I'm not particularly pleased with any of the prospects, but we sign Lewis George who is a 6'11 249 lb C from St. John's. He is averaging 7 ppg, 10 rpg, and 1.3 bpg in the D-League.

Hmmm, the Grizzlies actually offer me a slightly interesting trade. Their 1st round pick (which will likely be high) and Eddy Curry for Mareese Speights and Michael Redd...

I take a closer look at Eddy Curry and realize that he is completely washed up at the age of 29. I turn the deal down.

The Bulls offer me Joakim Noah for Evan Turner and Michael Redd. That is much easier to turn down.

Feb 8 -

We play at the Bucks who are 18-32 and struggling. We beat them 119-102 despite 38 points from Bogut.

Louis Williams is getting more minutes with our short bench as we play small ball. He thrived with 22 points in 30 minutes. Good thing we didn't trade him either.

Iggy with 18 points, 6 assists, and 4 boards. Holiday with 17 points and 9 assists.

Speights with 16 points and 4 boards. Brand with 12 points, 4 boards, and a block.

Turner with 11 points, 10 boards, 5 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks. Very efficient night from him.

Redd added 8 points in 25 minutes. Nocioni with 7 points in 9 minutes.

Feb 9 -

We host the Spurs in a tough 2nd leg of back-to-back. They are 24-27. We beat them 113-99 despite 26 points from Duncan and 19 points from Parker.

Holiday led the way with 20 points, 10 assists, 5 boards, and 2 steals. He shot 6 of 10.

Iggy with 21 points, 5 boards, 2 assists, and 4 steals. He shot 9 of 14.

Turner with 14 points, 7 boards, and 5 assists. He shot 4 of 9.

Brand with 12 points, 5 boards, and 1 block. Speights with 11 points and 5 boards.

Meeks with 8 points in just 7 minutes. Williams with 7 points on 1 of 9 shooting. Redd with 6 points. Nocioni with 6 points.

Our next game is hosting Portland on the 11th. The trade deadline is next week.

4 minutes to go in the 1st and Speights is in foul trouble. George will come into the game. We are down 12-11.

At the end of 1, we are up 21-18. Iggy and Turner both getting it done offensively with good shooting.

Iggy and Turner both rest the last 3 minutes of the half and they close with a 13-0 run.

We are down 48-40 at the half.

Speights fouls out with 4 minutes left in the 3rd. We are down 64-54.

At the end of 3, we are down 71-63. Turner had a monster 3rd quarter to keep us in it.

Down 83-75 with 5 minutes left, can we pull it out?

Turner with a quick 12 footer. That gives him 30.

Iggy draws a foul but only makes 1 of 2 FT's. Iggy with a steal and finds Holiday on the break who makes a layup and the foul. Down 85-81.

They miss a 3 but Holiday throws it away on the fastbreak.

Turner to George on the pick and roll but they answer with a pair of baskets. Down 89-83.

Turner misses a pair of shots and Aldridge hits a pair over Brand. That does it. Bad loss.

Speights with 2 points and 4 boards in 20 minutes. He shot 0 of 5.

I am going to sim the Rookie-Sophomore game and play the All-Star game (as the East of course.)

As expected, the Sophomores beat the Rookies 109-83. Wall led the Sophomores with 22 points and 8 assists. Griffin with 21 and 90 boards. Evan Turner with 11 points, 10 boards, and 6 assists.

Cam Campbell, Suns, led the Rookies with 19 points, 10 assists and 3 steals. Donnie Hodges, Portland (7th pick) had 13 points and 5 boards.

Now, for the All-Star Game:

At the end of 1, the East is up 31-29 and LeBron is the obvious star of the quarter with 12 points, 3 boards, and 2 assists.

At the end of 3, the west lead 86-78. Derrick Rose was the big man for the East. Durant was the main man for the West.

LeBron with a huge first 4 minutes of the quarter. The East takes a 92-88 lead.

East with a 100-98 lead with 4 minutes to go as we bring in the most effective 5: Rose, Wade, LeBron, Gerald Wallace, and Howard.

We come out of the All-Star break with a game at Washington. They are 22-34 and this should be a good game for us.

Within the 1st minute, Samuel Dalembert hurts his back and it doesn't look like he will be back today.

NO! Wall slams into Turner and hurts him Redd into the game. We are tied at 16 late in the 1st.

Word is that Turner has a severely strained oblique muscle and will miss 2-4 weeks.

We are down 24-21 at the end of 1.

We go on a 17-6 run that features Williams at PG and Holiday at SG with Iggy at SF. They are playing great together. We lead 38-32.

At halftime, we are tied at 44. Brand leads us with 9. Landry leads them with 14.

Williams with a key 4 minutes with the 2nd unit at the end of the 2nd to give us a 69-63 lead. Iggy had a huge 8 minutes where he dominated the quarter.

We were tied at 83 with 6 minutes left. But, then Wall became unstoppable while Iggy missed a few shots in a row. Owen Blake was also very big for them down the stretch. It doesn't help when Speights fouls out with 4 minutes to go.

They finish the game with a 18-5 run as Iggy misses his last 5 shots of the game. We lose 101-88. We need to get healthy for the playoffs, but I doubt we are going to hold onto the #1 seed in the East with all of these injuries.

Carl Landry is the player of the game with 20 points, 9 boards, 3 assists, 3 blocks, and 1 steal. He shot 9 of 13.

Wall with 27 points and 9 assists on 8 of 18 shooting. Blake (the #2 player in the draft last year) with 20 points, 5 boards, and 3 assists. The 6'6 SG looks like he will be a good one. He is averaging 17.1 ppg this year.

Iggy with 24 points, 7 boards, 2 assists, and 3 steals. He shot 11 of 26.

Speights with 14 points, 10 boards, and 2 blocks.

Williams with 13 points, 6 boards, and 7 assists in 24 minutes.

Holiday with 4 points, 9 assists, 2 boards, 2 steals, and 2 blocks in 39 minutes. He shot 2 of 11.

Brand with 9 points and 9 boards. Redd with 7 points. Nocioni with 6 points. Turner with 6 points in 9 minutes before he got hurt.

The good news is that Thaddeus Young is close to 100% and is healed enough to start playing again. We are going to have to rely on him for some points even though he is only about 85%.

We lose to the Bulls 100-94 and we lose Michael Redd for 6-8 weeks with a torn meniscus in his left knee

Good news is that Young was pronounced 100% healthy after the game. Guess he was closer than I thought to 100%. Still he had a quiet return with 7 points in 32 minutes.

Speights led the team with 23 points and 10 boards. Iggy with 19 points, 9 boards, 5 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks. He shot 8 of 22.

Williams with 13 points. Brand with 13 points and 8 boards. Holiday with 8 points, 4 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks.

Feb 25 -

We host the 30-25 Warriors. They beat us 115-107. They were led by 26 points from Zach Randolph. Monta Ellis with 23 and Crawford with 16 points.

Speights led us with 24 points, 6 boards, and 3 blocks. Iggy with 20 points, 5 boards, 6 assists, 3 steals, and a block. He shot 8 of 15.

Young with 19 points and 7 boards. Williams with 12 points. Holiday with 10 points and 11 assists.

Our next game is against Houston which leads the West with a 42-15 record. However, they have 2 starters hurt as Battier is out and Scola is fighting back spasms.

News around the league:

Chris Paul hurt his shoulder and will be out 3-4 weeks.

Wow. Rookie Cam Campbell won player of the week in the West. LeBron won in the East.

Big Baby has requested a trade out of Boston.

LeBron and Kobe have won Player of the Month every month this year.

Cam Campbell has won Rookie of the Month every month in the West, but Owen Blake won it in the East for the first time last month. Simon Reid had won it the first 2 months.

LeBron and Durant are the 2 favorites for MVP but Iggy is a distant 3rd in the race.

Tied at 24 at the end of 1. Iggy with a very good 1st quarter. Same for Holliday.

Forgot to write up most of this game, but Iggy has had an AMAZING 2nd half.

He helped us get a 21-6 lead run that erased a 10 point deficit in the 4th. They closed to 87-85 and then he hit a big 3 with under a minute left. That 3 gives him 40 points.

Iggy hit a pair of FT's to give us back a 5 point lead and the crowd started chanting "MVP! MVP!"

We win the game 94-87. Great win! Iggy was amazing.

He is clearly Player of the Game with 44 points (a career high), 9 boards, 7 assists, 2 steals, 1 block, and 0 turnovers. He shot 15 of 29, 3 of 6, and 11 of 16.

Brand with 13 points, 9 boards, and 1 block.

Young with 12 points, 10 boards, 4 steals, and 1 assist.

Holiday with 11 points, 8 assists, and 6 steals.

Speights with 8 points, 11 boards, and 1 block.

At the end of 1, we are tied at 24. Garnett and Rondo with big quarters for the Celtics. Brand and Iggy had very nice quarters for us.

Halftime, we are down 55-49. Garnett with 12 points and 6 boards at the half. Iggy with 12 points but he has missed 5 FT's in the half.

At the end of 3, we are up 73-68. Iggy had a HUGE 3rd quarter with great defense and 10 points.

Very good play from Holiday, Williams, and Young as I rest Iggy for 4 1/2 minutes in the 4th, but they build it to a 81-73 lead. Now, Iggy comes back for the final 7 minutes well rested.

Great team offense to finish it off. We win 100-91. Strong road win to maintain our lead in the conference.

Iggy is the player of the game with 34 points, 5 boards, 6 assists, 6 steals, and 1 block. He had 1 turnover. He shot 12 of 24, 1 of 7, and 9 of 14.

With 7:18 left in the 1st, Iggy gets a 2nd foul on Rose on the fast break. We lead 8-4.

We are playing Championship level defense. They bring Rose back with 3 minutes to go in the quarter. We lead 15-6. Iggy has been resting for 2 minutes cause he was exerting so much energy on the defensive end. Everyone is busting their ass tonight.

We are up 16-13 at the end of 1.

Both sides heat up in the 2nd quarter. Turner had an amazing quarter. He is going to be so special I think.

At halftime, we lead 47-39. Turner with 18 points, 3 boards, and 3 assists including a very pretty alley-oop to Iggy on the fast break.

Noah hurts his ankle early in the 3rd. Looks like he is done for the night.

Noah comes back a few minutes later. He is able to play through whatever happened.

We built a big lead in the 3rd, but they went on a 4 minute 18-2 run before Speights hit a shot to give us a 58-57 lead.

At the end of 3, we are up 68-65. Turner continues to shine. Rose is having a great game too.

1st play of the quarter, Deng hurts his back coming down awkwardly after a rebound. It looks bad.

We built up a 84-73 lead before I rested Turner and Iggy. Now, it is 87-83 lead with 3:26 to go as I bring them back. Can they finish it?

With 1:56 to go, Rose steals it from Williams and takes it in for a dunk to tie it at 87.

Rose with another steal and he draws a foul and gives them a 89-87 lead.

31 seconds, Williams finds Iggy on a fast break to tie it at 89.

They call time and I get Holiday back into the game.

Boozer with a nice post move to score with 23 seconds left. 91-89.

With 5 seconds left Holiday finds Turner for an open 3 at the top of the key.. he swishes it! 92-91.

Turner steals it from Rose! They foul. Turner hits both FT's. 94-91 with 2.8 seconds left.

Rose takes the inbound pass, steps back and swishes a long 3 with 0.6 seconds left!

We are going to OT.

Holiday misses a 3 with 17 seconds left. We are up 98-97 as they call time. Will they hold for last shot?

Rose holds it... he tries to blow by Holiday.. Holiday stays with him.. he backs off.. he shoots the 3 at the buzzer.. and it is long!

We win 98-97!

Deng is out for the remainder of the regular season and part of the playoffs with a severe lower back strain.

April 3rd -

We are 49-26. Orlando is 38-38 and fighting for the last playoff birth. They are currently 2 games behind the Bulls for it. They get us at home in the 2nd night of a back and back. They beat us 107-97 behind 27 points and 17 boards from Howard who also had 1 block.

Bass and Rashard Lewis each had 20.

Young led us with 24 points and 12 boards. Speights with 20 points and 5 boards. Iggy with 13 points, 4 boards and 4 assists.

Turner with 12 points, 6 boards, and 3 assists. Holiday with 13 points and 6 assists.

April 5th -

Next up is a game at Toronto who are 25-51 and trying to get as many ping pong balls. We should crush them.

Very concerning. Poor effort and we lose 103-89. They got 16 points from Bargnani to lead their team.

Young had 24 points and 7 boards for us. Turner with 19 points and 8 boards. He shot 5 of 13. Iggy with 16 points and 6 assists. He shot 5 of 14.

Brand with 8 points and 6 boards. Louis Williams with 7 points. Holiday with 6 points and 7 assists.

Our next game is at home vs Detroit. They are 23-54 and their talent level is putrid. We should crush them to get win number 50.

We are now 2 games behind the Heat for the #1 seed in the East. Our last game of the year is against the Heat. We are only 1/2 game ahead of the Knicks and 1 game ahead of the Pacers. The Celtics are only 3 games behind us.
