The official I was killed early in a game and need somewhere to vent thread!
I've probably died before or on day 3 more than almost anyone other than say Saldana or a handful others. I guess somewhere along the way though, I just got used to it as a risk of playing WW. Sure, its not fun to die early in the game and have to watch from the sidelines, but its usually not something personal and is actually a compliment that someone was afraid enough of you to push a vote on you or night kill you.
I've seen a few people get upset at early kills lately and Barkeep mentioned a seperate vent thread, so here you go.. THe official, I hate you all because you killed me early thread! Last edited by Alan T : 01-26-2007 at 03:24 PM. |

If I die today, it will be the fourth time in a row I have died on day 3 or prior.
Bloody game.

This thread was created 17 minutes ago and we're 9 posts in... nice!
I've done some pretty idiotic things to get myself lynched but it was mere stupidity. Had I not been SkyDog I woulda been dead. I've had my share of early lynches and it's my mouth getting me in trouble and no, it's not a compliment... I sometimes take these things a bit too seriously. |

And none of the people who have posted in this thread have complained about a specific game where they died early. That is the funniest part about it for me, at this point.
I take this stuff seriously when I'm in the middle of the day - when I'm up for vote I have a hard time breaking away from the thread and I am pretty sure my heart rate gets going a little faster than it should as I try to construct my case over the minutes/hours I have left to live. But once the day is over, if I'm the one swinging from the rope then I try to move on quickly. The last thing my wife needs is for me to be sulking about my fate in an online game. Usually I also try to learn something along the way - although the process of applying those lessons the next game doesn't always go smoothly. OK, I need to work on my ranting skills ... |

The one game I was killed early in that I can remember was the Harry potter game.
I remember the first two days we had amazing luck and Peregrine was the seer and somehow caught a wolf the first day. (We had night 0 with seer scans). The next day he caught another wolf in a flat out lie. We had back to back wolf kills on day 1 and 2.. looks like we were going well. So everyone was fawning all over Peregrine for it and he came out with this list of who he thought was bad. Everyone immediately wanted to go down the list and kill them all. I debated saying just because he was right on about the first two doesnt mean he suddenly knows who all the other bad guys were. I managed to vault to the top of the suspect list with those comments and ended up getting lynched on day 3. Not a single wolf was killed the rest of that game, and Saldana (The moderator of that game) had a nice little run where it was only good guy deaths one after another for quite a while in his games. I was a bit bitter about that death for a bit. |

Here's a specific: Cronin's wheel of time game. First time ever I get seer -- I am stoked! Everyone day 1 votes for someone else so there's like 15 one vote people out there. I point out that probably helps evil more than good. Alan jumps on that at the end of the day and sniped me. GRRRRRR!!!!
But hoops is right, you just gotta move on.

Shall we talk about Tombstone, day 1 then Hoops? Is Day 4 too late to vent about a death here? Nah I'll wait to vent abou that one when the apocalypse game is over.

The Jack the Ripper game. I was really excited to play that one because I loved the theme and I had a cool character (the Artful Dodger). I believe it was Alan who doomed me for being too quiet. I was frustrated because real life had kept me from posting all day and when I came on, I already had all kinds of heat directed my way. But I learned a lot from that and I've tried to be more vocal and insightful since then.

Oh yeah, and then there's Jack the Ripper game. Wow was I mad. I withdrew information because if I admitted taking Barkeeps money (who died while we were having sex) then I would look guilty. When blade (or was it cronin, can't remember) mentioned that some money was taken away, I wasn't sure if they knew it was me or not, so I admitted it and I got lynched. When the game was over I found out that I could have been a mason and in control of practically anything. I was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO mad.

My first WW game, I got myself offed on the first day. That wasn't any fun.
If I'm remembering right, it was the game where Fouts snookered everyone with a fake reveal.

Animal farm was annoying for me. I was Pinkerton and knew AlanT was a bad guy but he didn't know who I was and he killed me night one.
The JTR game annoyed me because there was really no way for me to get out of being lynched. |

Know what's great? being killed on the same day in 2 games. especially when you are a damm seer in both games.
guess i made my hint in the 2nd game a lil too obvious. oh well, that'll teach me. especially when the person who kills you in game 1 is the GM of game 2 and has to PM you like "sorry to be the beareer of bad news" GRRRR |

with all due respect to alan, because i think he is the only one that may have more faster exits than me, none of you guys that have had 3 or 4 quick exits in a row should be whining yet.....there was a string of about 8 games where i didnt make it past the 2nd day....i didnt even bother to read the friggin rules until day 2 because i assumed i would be dead on night 1.
the thing i always said to lathum when he called me the next day laughing his ass off at me was that i never understood why....i am never right, in fact, i cant think of the last time i actually caught a wolf, but for some reason, i get whacked every game in the first 5 minutes. |

He was going to take over for Passacaglia, but Pass got night-killed last night, so you could say that DT was killed before he even started playing.
