Ain't that the truth. My grandpa was a WW2 vet but didn't talk about it which I don't blame him. Just wish I would of thanked him.

I'm not sure that is a final four I'd want to be a part of.

No disrespect intended.

Well, it beats being one of the ones that didn't last past that day.

Only six survivors left. Good article on one of them.

Only four survivors left. Lost a great one today. Uncle Herb did a lot of the tours at the memorial. I met him twice while visiting the memorial. Great guy.

We are extremely saddened to share the news that Pearl Harbor Survivor Herb Weatherwax, fondly known by us as Uncle Herb, passed away early yesterday morning, Dec. 12, 2016, at age 99. According to his family, "He was ready and it was a strong yet peaceful death. As with this 'Greatest Generation,' Papa left this earth with dignity and grace." Our hearts go out to the Weatherwax family, and we are so appreciative of Uncle Herb's countless hours spent at the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center sharing his story with people young and old from around the world. Fair winds and following seas, sir.

Pretty cool story

Remains of Pearl Harbor sailors return home after 77 years

Also, today will be the first time that there will not be a survivor of the USS Arizona battleship at the Pearl Harbor memorial ceremonies.
