Pat Summerall, we hardly knew ye.

The long time NFL analyst and well known broadcast partner of John Madden passed away at age 82

That's a shame. Good broadcaster, steady as they come. RIP.

A lot of the bombastic announcers could learn a thing or two by watching his commentary. One of the great ones.

He tailed off a bit in his last few years, but in his prime there was no NFL play-by-play guy that was better.

This, he was a good as they come in his prime. Feel like I lost a piece of my childhood. Fond memories of listening to him call games on CBS back in the 70's.

In the 80's there was nothing better than watching a game done by Pat and Madden.

RIP

He was the guy to keep people sane while listening to Madden.
