OT - Frosty Returns
Damn why did CBS have to show this? The original Frosty is good but the 2nd one is frickin terrible! todays kids shouldn't be subjected to this garbage.
Rudolph, frosty, garfield, the california raisins, and of course A Christmas Story is all we need. none of this foolishness! |

I agree. The animation used in the first one ruled but the second one sucked except for John Goodman doing the voice of Frosty. It's funny because me and my wife were having this very conversation the other night and we thought we were the only ones that thought that way.

Chubby...you are absolutely correct. I think we need another Victoria's Secret Show, too...maybe "XXX-Mas Victoria Secret"

Sure, every Christmas from now until the end of time should have Frosty, Charlie Brown, the Grinch, etc but you gotta keep making new classics, too, and even if most of the new ones flop, some of them eventually have to be good by the law of averages.

Yeah, but Frosty Returns is just wrong (and so is John Goodman's singing).
Actually, I think the same can be said about any of the new Charlie Brown specials - it's like you're watching something in fast forward, with all the quick scene-jumps and random things thrown in. They're missing the slower, more relaxed pace that the older, classic ones have. Have any of the more recent specials caught on and stuck around? I mentioned to my wife how the Garfield specials that I remember being on having disappeared, I can't even think of many since. And the teacher in Frosty Returns looks like the cranky old lady from the Hallmark cards...

Just like the new x-mas songs coming out by current pop stars. And remakes of the classics. I hate 'em.
The only x-mas cd I listen to is the good ol' Nat King Cole Christmas album.
