(Religion) Catholic Church making familiar mistakes in Ireland?

As a friend of mine said..

"plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.." (The more things change.. the more they stay the same).

The Vatican have started a campaign in Ireland to squelch 'liberal opinion', and to restore the "reverence the average catholic should have toward their priests"

Theologians will be expected to teach traditional doctrine by constantly preaching to lay Catholics of attendance at Mass and to return to the practice of regular confession, which has been largely abandoned by adults since the 1960s.

The times have changed. More importantly, as the bible says "First remove the beam from your own eye, and then you will see clearly enough to remove the speck from your brother's eye". You have been trusted with a mission from God to spread the word of God to the people, and a mission from the people to hear the word of God, and you have failed both. The Catholic Church is a tree that had its branches become corrupt, and rather then casting those branches off, they embraced them, and let the corruption reach down to the very roots of the tree.

The catholic church will continue its decline as long as they keep blaming others for their mistakes and their covering up of crimes, instead of taking responsibility and making changes.
