Calling Grandma
Today is Grandma's birthday. Grandma is a wonderful person and has a life full of loving family and friends acquired over 80 years. And all of those loving family and friends want to call to wish her a happy birthday. And the retired ones have nothing to do, so they stay on the phone forever. And Grandma does not have call waiting.
The short of it is--it is almost impossible to get through to Grandma on her birthday. I have been trying for two hours off and on with nothing but busy signals. It reminds me of trying to win radio station call-in contests when I was younger. Indeed, I am willing to bet that--on average--it's easier to get tickets to SuperTramp than it is to get in touch with Grandma on her birthday. I hope that I have that many people who love me when I'm known as Grandpa. |

Isn't it possible Grandma unplugs the phone on her birthday because she's sick of you all?

You can call me. It's my birthday, and nobody has called me yet.
I guess she's 45 years older than me to the day. |
