Braves are hitless through 6, trailing Jiminez & the Rockies 4-0 in spite of 6 walks by UJ so far.

Grounder to Barmes, throw to first, and Ubaldo Jiminez has the first no-hitter in Rockies franchise history

Yeah-they're understandably excited on the Rockies broadcast (was listening to the 9th on MLB Audio)

Same old crap this season...decent pitching, can't get on base. Jay Bruce will NEVER be a star. Sad based upon how much the kid came up with.

I can't see this Jeff Clement experiment working much longer. He is hitting slightly over .100.

Shame that call at 2nd was blown or the Cardinals would have won 2-1.

He was in there, his foot was in before the tag. You can see that on the angle from the 1st base side that by the time the tag is actually made the foot is on the bag.

dola: The REAL blow was not pinch hitting for the pitchers twice in extra innings with the bases loaded and two outs.

That's pretty funny that the Cardinals used Lopez in order to pitch one inning, and then used Mather(a CF) for the final 2. He's the 6th position player to get a decision since 88. Honestly I can't even believe that there were that many.

Wow, there were two bigger stories last night, but Livan Hernandez has pitched 16 scoreless innings this year. That includes his CG SO last night and his first start last week. He was brought in as a stop-gap to Strasburg, but it is certainly looking like he will be around longer than that. I hope he keeps it up!

Also, the Nationals have a winning record the latest in the season since 2005. 2005, really. Wow.

We fans are definitely relishing in it.

It's the first time over .500 since April 4, 2008 when they were 3-2 I believe.

Kudos to you that follow the Royals! :-D

Wow. Jason Marquis yanked after 0 IP 4H, 7ER, 1BB, 2HBP.

EDIT: Left runners on that scored.

10-0, top of the 1st, 1 out. So much for the elation of yesterday.

Everyone seems to be missing the fact that it was a hit and run. Pujols unfortunately just missed the pitch. I don't have a huge problem with the call. You know Krod is going to be pitch Pujols away anyway and you have Lohse on deck. The play looks bad when Pujols swings through the pitch and Ludwick gets thrown out, but overall I think the call was fine.

Terrific pitcher's duel in Toronto today. Romero goes eight and allows 1 ER. Santana gets within the last out of a shutout (gave up his 1 ER on a Lind solo shot with two down in the 9th).

Angels sweep a nice series for them in Toronto, and hopefully are starting to return to normal.

Heyward delivers again for Atlanta, a game-winning 2-run single in the bottom of the ninth to steal a 4-3 win from Colorado.

Steal is right, but I'll take it. Tony "Hit in to a double play" Glaus was so out to end the game. I've gotten where my stomache drops everytime he comes up with a man on first. Might has well put two outs up.

Umps and the rookie gave the Braves a W. Umps call a phantom balk and then miss a clear double play which would have ended the game. Morales caught the ball with Glaus still half a foot away.

Then Heyward drills an opposite field single to win the game. Kid is ridiculously impressive. Rocks have had their share of calls over the years, but the Braves got a huge gift today. They should send thank you cards to both the second and first base ump who gave it to em.

I think the 2nd base ump called that balk to make up for the first base ump missing the balk right before. But then, the first base ump missed the call on Glaus as well, so maybe he was just high.

Maybe. I know I'm harder on refs and umps than a lot of people, but things like today simply shouldn't happen. There is a human element to be sure, but the double play call was an obvious call and one that needs to be made 99.9 times out of 100. Umps who blow calls like that need suspensions. Video technology needs to be used to make sure they get it right. The costs for these games is extremely high and I think the fans investments in time and cash should be rewarded with the basic calls being right a lot more often than they are now.

Great pitching duel in LA - Kershaw killing the Giants with power stuff, Zito doing it to the Dodgers with absolutely nothing. The Giants just took a 1-run lead on a hanging cutter, but this kid's stuff is filthy (irrespective of the AAA lineup that he is facing)/.

Ps - Braves fans. Doesn't Heyward move up the batting order already? I mean, Martin Prado is a nice guy and all, but he shouldn't be seeing more AB's than Heyward.

Be that as it may, I have a little more faith in Heyward's abilities than Prado (or Glaus or really anyone else on the Braves lineup with exception of McCann and Chipper).
