Mass shooting murders in Cumbria
12 shot dead in gun rampage in Cumbria, England.
This is the sort of story we have regularly been from Finland, USA, etc - thankfully we don't have anywhere near the same level of gun ownership, and it's only the third time I can remember anything like this (after Hungerford & Dunblane) in the last 35 years. Thankfully we have not been a gun-owning nation, and this is very rare. BBC News - Cumbria shooting rampage death toll reaches 12

This has happened about 5 miles from me. We are a close knit community where everyone knows someone who has been affected by this.
Myself.....The farmer cutting a hedge was killed for no reason apart from been in the wrong place at the wrong time. I watched him play for my local Rugby League team, he was a family friend and leaves a wife and two young children. Tonight life isn't making an sense |

It's always hard to believe these things happen. I can't imagine what it would be to lose a loved one to something so senseless.
I do appreciate that the media isn't currently counting the shooter himself in the death toll. I'm always reluctant to count the guilty amongst their victims. |
