It's on the MLB Network. Likely won't be hard to find a stream somewhere either.

I'm afraid to admit this, and I'm sure you guys are sick of me and Adam Dunn but I'm all in now on him having a come back year.

these are his last 3 springs. And yes I know its only spring training but he is seeing the ball better then a long long time. (as far as SO and .obp at the very least) hell even the average is on his usualish. I could definitely see a .240, 35 hr, 90-100 rbi year. The huge thing is the strike outs though, if he figured something out finally, then he could be in for a career year in .OBP and even .ops possibly. /hoping and praying

I was under the impression MLB Network had it as an exclusive national broadcast so it wouldn't be shown locally, but maybe that's not the case.

Nice to see Tom Wilhelmsen turn into a decent pitcher. I followed him pretty closely in A ball with the Brewers back in the early 00's before he had his personal issues. He had the talent back then too.

So, the Marlins and Cards are playing on Wed., April 4th for opening night.

Then the next day, the Cards go somewhere else to play, and the Marlins come to Cincy for the Reds opening day on the 5th.

Since when does this scheduling make any fucking sense?

I inadvertently bought tickets for Sunday's Pirates/Phils game, not realizing it was Easter. Which is actually really cool, cause it serves the purpose of dodging a family meal.

So apparently during the Jays/Red Sox game yesterday (according to Link)
Anthony Gose: 0 for 3, walk, 4 stolen bases, including 3 in one inning, with a steal of home, when the catcher threw the ball back to the pitcher, scoring the game winning run. If you hadn't heard, the guy is fast.

Is there any way to see this? It sounds awesome, like something from Major League.

Jamie Moyer has made the Rockies' rotation.

He's 12 years older than that youngster Livian Hernandez.

Jeremy Guthrie is the only member of the Rockies starting rotation that was alive when Moyer came up in 1986.

Moyer needs 33 wins for 300, which he could probably do in 3 full years. Anyone want to bet against him?

I fucking love Jaime Moyer. He's like the last guy playing baseball who was a highly touted rookie when I collected baseball cards. Plus, I love old, junkball throwing, southpaws.

I remember watching an O's game from the 80's where Mike Flanagan was pitching and throwing 56 mph changeups. It was great.

That's what we need. People trying to argue Moyer is a HOFer because he won 300 games.

I don't think I've have a big problem with that frankly.

Similarity scores seem to make it a discussion.

It's a discussion in fantasy land. In his 24 years he's received Cy Young votes three times and was an all-star once.

Hey, you've got your Hall, I've got mine. {shrug}

If he's still pitching - and winning - in the majors when he's 52, he can be in mine without a big problem.

I wonder if Tommy John fucked Julio Franco's mom and their love child was Jamie Moyer.

John also never got above 1/3 of the votes needed for the HOF, and he was slightly better than Moyer in WHIP and ERA+

Johan Santana is back as the opening day starter for the Mets. Not sure what a "torn anterior capsule" means in regards to his ability to bounce back. But it is great to see one of the best pitchers of his generation return. Even if it is for the Fets.

If Santana can stay healthy the Mets rotation could be decent. Pelfry is the real wildcard. Gee and Niese are developing young pitchers and Dickey is a junkballer who will eat innings. This year is a make or break year for him.

This is the problem I have with counting stats in baseball. If you're around long enough, you're going to start reaching these milestones regardless of how good you are. That was one of the issues with Biggio (who I felt deserved to be in), and will be a bigger one with Moyer (who I don't feel should be in).

FWIW I don't think Moyer deserves to be in, but shouldn't he be given some credit for longevity?

Glad Frazier forced this move. I can't help but get the feeling now that Dusty and Jocketty are coming to a head with players. I think Dusty wants to make Chapman the closer and wanted to keep Francisco. Jocketty wants Chapman to start and Frazier to be up.

Ya, the "stat collectors" get kind of a bad rap, it's not exactly easy to be good enough to get jobs for that long. Pedro Martinez wishes he could collect stats but nobody wanted him anymore when he was 38. (I'm not saying Moyer is a HOFer either, but I think that kind of longevity is maybe underrated.)

Dusty has always been a fan of Francisco, but even Dusty was pretty damn mad that he showed up to camp out of shape and still dinged up.

My favorite Moyer factoid from over the weekend is that Moyer was older in 1993 than any starter in the Rockies rotation in its first year of existence.

In other Rockies news, I don't think it's really hard to figure out how they imploded last year at this point. Everyone knew the locker room was horrific, but with all of the comments coming out now, it's pretty clear the team was beyond ticked off with Ubaldo and that was the powder keg that sparked everything.

The cheap shot on Tulo yesterday was disgusting. Hope he gets suspended for awhile.

Last year the Rockies gave big extensions to Tulo and Cargo. Ubaldo felt he deserved one as well, but the Rockies told him he had to wait.

Last week Ubaldo brought up that the Rockies treated him poorly. Tull, Giambi, Cargo and others stood up for the Rockies. Tuls said that if Ubaldo was so unhappy, he should have asked to get out.

So in the first at at Tulo has against Ubaldo, he gets drilled on the elbow with a 98MPH heater. Ubaldo can be seen immediately rushing toward the batters box and taunting Tulo. He the. Says after the game that it was an accident and he only rushed toward the box because Tulo called him a name. The video shows pretty conclusively that he is lying through his teeth.

After this happened, the Rockies held nothing back. They openly accuse Jiminez of shutting it down last year. Tracy and Giambi were the harshest. (I never have liked Giambi, but it seems like he is a pretty tough guy to piss off as a teammate.

All offseason the Rockies talked about fixing a fractured clubhouse. Nothing had come ou publicly until now. We now know one of the fractures (and likely the biggest one, as Ubaldo sucking was a huge reason for the Rockies swoon after a fast start)

I would be very leery of giving this guy a huge contract. Guys who shut it down like that are prone to repeating it. Just my opinion, I could be wrong

Maybe Ubaldo feels like he pitched his ass off for that team in 2010 and then when his arm went they just cast him off.

I'm not saying Ubaldo shouldn't have been slightly upset. I do think the "casting off" thing is pretty harsh though. When a pitcher has 3 years left on a deal and he struggled mightily in the second half of the previous year, who in their right mind goes "all in?"

But shutting it down the way he did? FWIW, I do believe that's exactly what he did. His fastball just miraculously went back up to 98 about 3 weeks before the trade deadline, I really don't think that was by accident. Acting like that? Sorry, he's a dirtbag and I'm glad he isn't on a team I cheer for. (I actually like the Tribe)

I had always liked the guy, but now I fully understand why the Rockies shipped him. He wasn't going to get a new contract until he proved '10 wasn't a fluke and he wasn't going to pitch hard until he got a contract. Funny thing though Ubaldo. . . did the Indians give you a monster contract after the trade? Didn't think so. Guess they "cast him off" as well?

I'll add one more thing here: The Rockies did something amazing with the trade. They somehow kept everyone in the organization to keep their mouth shut on him until they traded him. True or not, the perception was there and yet nothing came out. That was a pretty good job of deception by the Rockies.
