The Blockade of New Orleans. A very Dark Chapter in US history.
I still can not believe that the American people will sit by and watch as President Bush and the White House murder 10,000 people for doing nothing staying in their homes.
Well, I might as well ask... I thought the US Government had decided to Kill, or Starve to death, all the remaining people left in New Orleans? Last I heard was that they would no longer be providing food, water, or medical help to anyone still left in New Orleans. Can the people left in New Orleans get outside help? Maybe through another Government, or organization that is not under the controll of the White House? They would have to be willing to run the blockade around the city or Air Drop some much needed food, water, and medical equipment into the city? I don't know if the US would actually shoot down a plane that was just bringing in food, water, and medical supplies. Anyway, I was shocked to hear that the US was going to try and starve these people out of their own homes and that got my wheels to turning. I know in the past the US has performed these type of life saving procedures to prevent a harsh Government from murdering it's own people. Can anyone save these people? Does the UN need to get involed and prevent the slaughter of these people by the US? Will charges ever be brought against President Bush for these 10,000 deaths if these people are killed by starvation and dehydration? |

In the future, maybe it'd be better if you didn't post while drunk or high.

You do realize that the MAYOR, and not the Bush Adminstration, has order a mandatory evecation of all the remaining people left, or else they will not receive support.

I agree. The Blockade of New Orleans was a very dark chapter in US history. Fortunately, Andrew Jackson won the battle of New Orleans and the War of 1812 ended as a peace treaty was signed.
There was a short Blockade of New Orleans as well in the Civil War, but I'm pretty sure the North took the city before it got "too dark of a chapter." |

Sample Canadian Political Trolling Flame War Canadian #1: "Paul Martin sucks. He is clearly ruining the country." Canadian #2: "No he isn't." Canadian #1: "Oh. Sorry, eh." Canadian #2: "That's ok. Have a Tim Horton's coffee on me." Besides. Unlike the US, where the issues seem very polorized, I think almost every Canadian has a dislike for Paul Martin. |

Just saying that this is probably one of the more conservative boards I know of which include both sides of the spectrum (obviously wacky sites like NewsMax and such where liberals are chased out don't count).

Hmm..I did not know that the Mayor of a city could give orders to a US Military General or even had the power to call out the National Guard.
I thought the Lieutant General currently in charge in New Orleans was acting on orders given to him by someone higher than the City Mayor. |
