OOTP13 Plan
My plan is to do the conversions in a 2 week span. Because of the way the schedules for everyone is different I've decided the way to tackle this is best if we take a week off and give everyone a week to get setup. The other league will continue as usual.
I think we'll do FOOLX 1st. This will take place after the 2100 season is completed next Tuesday. Any objections?

do you plan to convert both to OOTP13 or do like we have done and wait for OOTP14 for FOOL?

In the thread I started a couple months back I said I'd like to convert both leagues to the latest games. Basically most people are in both leagues so it really makes sense to do both leagues. No one objected at that time so I've thought that both leagues will convert to OOTP13.

Ugh, another week off? We just had a week off
I agree that it's best, but I just like competing for once in FOOLX on a regular basis

It was the only route I could think of to get it done. How about I promise you no off time until Christmas?

Ack! I strongly dislike converting both leagues. This buying a new game every year just doesn't work for me. Just not in the budget.

It's way to hard to recruit new people to take over vacant teams in old games. You have no idea how difficult and time consuming it is to find new people to join the league. Its by far the biggest thing I took for granted in online leagues. I gave far to little credit to the commish in this aspect.

THen you will lose people every year for sure. I'm not the only one that can't afford to/isn't going to buy software every year for this.

Sounds good to me, looking forward to OOTP13.
And as a former commish, I have to agree with Dan on trying to recruit on the older versions. You may lose a few people here and there who don't want to upgrade, but filling vacancies is far easier on the latest version. Most everyone wants to play with the newest toy. |

If the league is currently full, then there is no need to rush to upgrade. I would wait to upgrade until around the all-star game or world series because the game is usually offered for a cheaper price. I haven't bought the game yet, but will do so when needed.
Pirateball3255 started a copycat FOOL called UBL and filled up with no problem, apparently.

Here is what we'll do with the plan. FOOLX was the league to be upgraded this year to the latest version so we'll go ahead with the conversion as stated here. We'll hold a vote for if FOOL will go too. Hope this is a good for everyone. I've never been a commish before so how to handle this stuff is new to me. I've thought all week on this and finally decided this is likely the best way to handle it. I hope you all find this acceptable.

Me too but I want to let everyone choose. I love using the most updated game for online leagues because of the added features. The new pitching features are quite nice. SP is mostly all there is in the drafts in 13. In real life pitchers start out as SP and then when its found they just can't start then they're moved to MR.

I'm lazy and I enjoy having two versions of OOTP open - you can update two league files at the same time, etc
