An ITP Dynasty - 1B Hall of Famer to be

I started up my first ITP dynasty, on the pathetic skill level. I hope to break all kinds of records and make the hall of fame. I've already played my first season before I decided to write it up.

In 2003 Richard Dixon was drafted 2nd by the Milwaukee Brewers. Dixon is a 5-star 1B prospect. He bats lefty, throws righty. Dixon is 6'2", 220, he's 19 years old. Here's is current stat breakdown:

STR: +5
INT: +2
DEX: +1
CON: +3
CHA: +3
Luck: +4

Personality: The pragmatist. The "Consummate professional"

Contact: 27 (60 talent)
Home Run: 34 (100 talent)
Gap Power: 41 (100 talent)
Eye: 30 (60 talent)
Defense: 42
Speed: 62
Stealing Instincts: 94
Hitting Lefties: 50

All four of my main talents improved a bunch during my first minor league season. Contact started at a measly 8, and made great leaps during my first season and offseason.

In my first season, I started terribly slow, batting under .100 for the first two months, before making a great recovery and finishing very very hot, finishing with a .213 average. I started every game and was rarely subbed out:

Code:
Career Minor League Batting Stats Year G AB H 2B 3B HR RBI R BB K SB CS AVG OBP SLG OPS 2003, A 130 539 115 13 2 15 51 68 22 99 29 8 .213 .237 .328 .565

I played 93 games at 1B last year(DH'd the rest), making only 4 errors for an excellent .995 fielding percentage.

I remain in single-A ball and am off to another slow start, batting only .186 in my first 12 games.

I'm currently playing every day out, but who knows how long that will last before I start simming it all out. I plan on just posting highlights, big games, skill increases, etc.

I currently make $250/wk. I have used most of my large signing bonus on books and such over the last year, I still have $460,000 left though.

I am still listed as a 5 star prospect. Milwaukee has a 4 star 1B prospect in A ball that I compete with on a daily basis, Lucio Rosado.

Contact is my weakest natural batting skill(i'm built for decent average and great power). I spend about $250,000 on the art of hitting, volume 3 and start to work on it, it'll push my contact up to 29 if I can ever get it read and comprehend it.

Finally, my current equipment:

BAT: Cobbsville Bats GP1: Gap +2
BATTING GLOVE: Magic Sticks Inc BGL-1: Contact +1
GLOVE: Web Gems Inc, FB-2 - Defense +10 (1B Glove)
SHOES: Brock Air: Defense +3, Speed +6

Alright, now we're caught up to present day. go go patheticly easy dynasty!

I'm batting 6th and playing 1B defensively on a daily basis.

4/18: 1 out, bottom of the 9th. Milwaukee trails San Diego 8-7. I'm up, the bases are loaded. This is my best game of the year so far. 3-3, single, double, triple, walk, RBI, 3 runs scored. Here's the chance to be a hero! I "just put it in play"... I draw a bases loaded walk for another RBI. The team goes on to choke and lose(not until after I get another hit though).

On the day: 4-4, 2B, 3B, 2 BB, 2 RBI, 3 R

4/24: I ask the owner for lots of money, but he was too drunk to pay attention. And now I get to go out on the field totally plastered myself! (0-3/1 IBB while drunk)

4/26: I finish reading my book and amazingly grasp it the first time! Contact is now 30.

4/26: I get moved to the leadoff spot, where I actually spent a large portion of last year. We get 2 hit, I go 0-4.

4/27: My manager and I get together for a few beers. I end up plastered, but he teaches me about waiting for a good pitch to hit, my eye rating goes up to 31.

4/28: I meet up with a teammate of mine, but by the time I ask him for advice, I'm too drunk to remember what he said.

4/30: Finally, my first home run, its a leadoff shot to straightaway centerfield.

I can't get month-by-month stats but I can update my progress on the season.

END OF APRIL:

Code:
Year G AB H 2B 3B HR RBI R BB K SB CS AVG OBP SLG OPS 2004, A 26 93 22 2 4 1 8 11 11 19 4 0 .237 .321 .376 .697

my BB/K ratio is a ton better this year, my OBP has flown up as a result. Hopefully I can continue to improve and earn a callup later this year/next year to AA.

I've made huge improvements in just a month. May 1st:

A solid month of development!

5/1: a solid start to the month. I hook up in the bar with a teammate, he gives me some advice, and my contact is up another point to 31.

5/6: a solid 3-5 day at the plate, a double and 2 runs and I'm holding steady on the month so far.

5/18: A great day from the leadoff spot. 3-5, 2 runs, and 3 stolen bases, I've got 9 steals on the month, and my runs scored total is skyrocketing also. The average just isn't improving much...

5/19: the very next game! 2-4, 3B, HR, 2 RBI, 2 runs... the average is up to .241 now.

5/21: My teammate and I get wasted at the bar, we have a chat and my contact rating is up 1 to 32 now!

5/29: The month is coming to a great end. 4-5, 2B, 2 runs.

It's june 1st now, lets see how I've improved:

Code:
G AB H 2B 3B HR RBI R BB K SB CS AVG OBP SLG OPS 51 203 52 9 5 5 22 31 25 35 17 1 .256 .338 .424 .761

7 doubles, 4 homers, 14 RBIs, 20 runs, 13 steals on the month. Average up 21 points, SLG up almost 50 points, OPS up 65 points. Looking solid.

Contact: 32 (+2)
Home Run: 36 (+1)
Gap Power: 43 (0)
Eye: 32 (+1)

JUNE:

slow month...

6/19: eye rating up to 33 thanks to a conversation with some of the OOTP developers.

I get hurt in a fight towards the end of the month and miss about 7 or 8 games. Here's the end of June:

My ratings took a very slight hit when I got in my fight and got hurt. My eye rating is shooting back up, its up to 36, and my gap rating is up to 46. Contact and power remain steady.

Through July I continue to hold my batting average to right around .240, I near 30 stolen bases on the season, and my OBP slowly goes up as I draw more walks.

August is more of the same, in early August I get my 10th home run, and I've been dropped to 5th in the batting order. In mid august my eye rating goes up even more after a chat with my manager, and I see myself turning into a speedy doubles hitter who can draw the walk, not the power hitter I envisioned... My 100th hit comes on August 10th, meaningless except to point out that my average remains terribly low, still at .233.

On 8/11 my eye rating goes up yet again after a bar conversation. A few days later a teammate helps me out and my contact rating goes up. 8/21 I have another solid conversation with a teammate and my contact rating goes up again. My contact is now above where it was before my injury, at 34. All of my skills but my power are shooting up(more upper body training needed?). Yet another eye rating bump on 8/24 and I'm up to 39.

The minor league season ends at the end of August. Here are this years numbers, and my ratings on the final day of the season:

Contact: 35 (60)
Home Run: 36 (100)
Gap Power: 49 (100)
Eye: 39 (60)

Career Minor League Batting Stats

G AB H 2B 3B HR RBI R BB K SB CS AVG OBP SLG OPS
2003 130 539 115 13 2 15 51 68 22 99 29 8 .213 .237 .328 .565
2004 119 501 113 23 5 11 48 78 50 102 39 2 .226 .299 .357 .656

In the final month of the major league season, I get multiple opportunities to chat with players and my manager, and I get signifigant
benefit from it. I got 4 contact points and 3 eye rating points just from these conversations, plus major help from my training.
Going into the offseason, here's how I look:

Contact: 43 (60)
Home Run: 39 (100)
Gap Power: 51 (100)
Eye: 43 (60)

With that, I advance to next season.

Thanks Glengoyne. I'm going to just start posting 1 season at a time I think. I'm into late may of my next season so far. The game is kinda interesting for awhile and I can easily see finishing off this career and seeing how hard I can push on the pathetic level, but I'm not sure this is something I'd do over and over w/ many careers. Worth the $20 though in my book.

I get some more ratings bumps in the offseason, and I get some big news! I'm starting the 2005 season in Triple-A! I am penciled in as the leadoff man on the Brewers AAA team. Here are my updated ratings, and here's hoping i can break .250 on the season, whatever level I sit at:

Contact: 47 (60)
Home Run: 40 (100)
Gap Power: 53 (100)
Eye: 44 (60)
Defense: 42
Speed: 63
Stealing: 94
Lefties: 50

My speed has increased 1 point from 62 to 63 since the start of this dynasty. My numbers have improved to the point that I feel I could potentially be a September callup if I can put up decent numbers during this season.

APRIL: I get a single to right field in my very first AAA at bat, and go 1-4 on the day. I sit out game 3, in game 4 I get my first walk, steal, and run. I get a 7 run 8th going w/ a 2 run single and have my first 2 hit game in AAA, going 2-4 with 2 RBIs. My first AAA HR comes days later, as I look to quickly be settling into a .230 average... I struggle mightily and my average dips as low as .140 towards the end of the month. I have two great games to finish out the month though and I am batting .184 on May 1st. My ratings continue to improve, they're all up except for contact during my 1st month in AAA ball.

MAY: I'm pretty much hanging at the .180 level throughout the month of may so far(by may 15th), i have one exceptional game, 3-4, 3B, HR, 1 RBI, 2 Runs. The game pushes my average back up to .191 and I hope it puts me on a hot streak. any chance of a streak is ended quickly though, as I play two of my next 3 games totally drunk, go 1-13 and drop back to .175. i finish out the month hitting .185, but my skills are improving noticibly, HR is up 4, eye up 5, gap up 7. Contact hasn't changed yet though.

JUNE: I expected this to happen if I couldn't keep the average over .200... I get demoted to AA ball on June 4th. I hit a solo HR in my first at bat in AA, and start out 1-4. By June 8th, I'm 7-15 with 2 HRs, for a .467 average and a .556 OBP in double A. On the 18th I'm still hitting .368, and showing skill improvements, I hope to get enough improvement here that I can go on a hot streak when I get back to AAA. I end June on a cold streak, and the average falls to .280, comes back up a little and begins to hover around .300.

July: July 13th brings a noteworthy game. Over a 13 inning contest, I go 4 for 6, blast 2 HRs, drive in 4, draw a walk and steal a base. The average is up to .321 in AA. 7/22 I get my first skill increase in over a month, as a teammate helps my contact rating to 49. I get a natural increase in my contact up to 50 days later, and I am well on my way to being a fine all around hitter. My average shoots to .331 with one of my best performances ever. 4-4, 2B, HR, 3 RBIs, 4 Runs, 1 BB, 2 SB. July ends with an even more amazing show. It's onl double A and clearly I belong higehr, but check out this line:

5 AB, 5 H, 3 2B, 1 3B, 1 HR, 6 RBI, 5 R

I close out July batting .343 in AA ball, OBP is well over .400, SLG nearly .600(.591), OPS 1.018! I think a call back to AAA is in order.

AUGUST: I open August with a 3-4 day and my contact has hit 51, it may just max itself out at 60 going into next year. Now the power just needs to follow. I hit my 10th homer in AA on the year, in a game where I go 1-1 with 3 walks. Another improvement I've seen in my performance is that I've drawn more walks than strikeouts. Early in my minor league career I struck out a lot. On 8/13 i get an eye rating increase following a bar convo, and yet another contact increase naturally... my contact is just flying upward. 8/19 I get my 20th steal in AA ball. My average is down to .333 but OBP is steady at .433 thanks to a ton of walks. 8/21 I get another contact increase from a bar convo, up to 53! I finish August in another small slump, the average has fallen to .308, and, that's the end of the minor league season!

2005, AAA 52 201 39 3 2 6 24 27 27 48 15 3 .194 .289 .318 .608

During the final month, as I await a callup that never comes, I talk my owner into $500K of bonus cash. I use it to buy 3 books and start working, power, contact, and stealing. I earn a few more points, and going into the offseason, here are my ratings:

Contact: 54 (60) (up 7 from beginning of season)
Home Run: 48 (100) (up 8)
Gap Power: 66 (100) (up 13)
Eye: 56 (60) (up 12)
Defense: 42 (no change)
Speed: 63 (no change)
Stealing: 94 (no change)
Lefties: 50

I head on to 2006, ready for another shot in AAA, I'm 21 years old now, and itching to start my run at Hammerin Hank(or Rickey Henderson, its hard to tell at the rate I'm developing).

Looking pretty good. I haven't been able to beat the owner in a drinking contest - nowhere close, actually. I'm wondering if there's a way to develop into a better drinker...?

Not that I've seen, but I have no idea. I just drink as much as I possibly can every time I see the owner, and then just ask. I never beat him either, but maybe I just catch him on generous days.

Lets see where we start off going into 2006. Holy crap i'm in the big show!! I'm making the league minimum, $300K a year. I'm still a full-out 5 star prospect, 21 years old now. Lets look at my 1B competition in the majors. 31 y/o Tyrone Bourland makes 6.5 Mil a year, a ton for a team with a $30 million payroll. He's a 2 1/2 star guy. He hit .293 last year and is a career .276 hitter, he blasts 20+ HRs every year... but here I am, on the major league roster, trying to compete with him for a job. I am initially pencilled on as the DH vs AL teams and that's it.

Here's my updated ratings:

Contact: 59 (60)
Home Run: 50 (100)
Gap Power: 71 (100)
Eye: 60 (60)
Defense: 42
Speed: 63
Stealing: 94
Lefties: 50

It looks like I should be ready to contribute at the ML level, that's for sure.

APRIL: I pinch hit for the pitcher on opening day. Its the top of the 8th, we trail Cincinnati 2-1, there's a man on 1st and nobody out. I am asked to lay down a bunt, and I do so. The next batter drives him in and ties the game, and we go on to win. I contributed at least! I successfully sac bunt again in a PH situation in game 2... 2 games, no at bats! I pinch hit again in game 3, and finally get an AB. I work the count full and watch strike 3 go by.

April 4rd, 2006: I pinch hit leadoff the 7th inning, and take a 2-0 pitch into right field for a single! My first major league hit! I steal 2nd, but get stranded at 3rd. April 5th: I leadoff the 6th with a walk, steal 2nd(2-2 stealing!) and score my first run! I've pinch hit in all of our team's first four games.

April 6th, 2006: My first start! I am leading off, and playing 1st base vs St Louis! I have a perfectly fine day, going 1-4 with a walk, in my first start. I start in our next game and get my first 2 hit game, and my first extra base hit, going 2-4 with a double and a run. Maybe this major league stuff ain't so tough after all. A few days later I hit my first Major League home run! Its a critical 3 run shot in the 7th against San Diego, we were down 4.

April 11th, I see a first. I drink with my manager, ask him for advice, and he tells me lots of stuff but I already knew it all, and it doesn't help any. I check my ratings and indeed, my contact and eye ratings are maxxed out at 60. On April 15th, I get a totally unexpected call. Despite hitting .320 with 4 extra base hits, 4 walks, 2 steals... I'm doing it all! But, I'm being sent back down to AAA for awhile.

I cruise through the rest of April in AAA, hitting .281 and playing overall solid baseball, awaiting another shot in the bigs.

MAY: May 6th I get called back up! Woohoo! I spend most of the month of may on the bench and pinch hitting, but every time I get a start I take advantage of it... I bat 5th on May 19th and go 3-4 with a double, my average sits at .359, and of my 14 hits, 5 are doubles, 2 HRs. By the end of May my average has dropped but is still a respectable .290. In may I saw action in 17 games, taking 37 ABs and getting 10 hits.

JUNE: My computer got rebooted here so I lost parts of my writeup... June was a month where I slumped a fair bit, and saw my average fall to .230 or so.

July: Still lost data here... I spent most of the month back in AAA, but once I got called back up(also in July) I hit very well.

I was part of a deadline deal to division rival St Louis! I am now a St Louis Cardinal. the Cards don't have nearly as good a first baseman as the Brewers did, and I am pencilled in as the every day starter!

AUGUST: I start off very hot in 2 games against my old Milwaukee team, going 4-6 with 3 walks in 2 games. My average to begin august is back up to .258. I talk my owner into $750,000 in August, and use the extra money to buy a book on power hitting... its my one attribute that's still lagging behind a little. My first game in Colorado! And boy is the air pretty up here. And thin. 3-3, 2 HR, 4 RBI, 3 runs, 2 BB, 1 steal. TEEHEE. Game #2 in coors, 3-4, 3B, HR, RBI, 2 Runs. Another great game on 8/20 in Atlanta. 2-4 with 2 HRs. I'm up to 8 on the year. I also got my 20th steal of the season! I finish reading my power hitting book and get 3 more points, power rating is 59 now! I have another great game at the end of the month in florida. My 3rd 2 HR game of the month, and I've got 10 on the year now! 3-4, 2B, 2 HR... August ends and my average has been lifed up to .264, I had a pretty solid month, batting .290 over 26 games/93 AB. 13 Extra base hits(7 HRs), 25 runs, and 7 steals... great stuff!

SEPTEMBER: My first september! This season has been a success no matter what happens here. I go ahead and quick sim the final month, as this season has just taken forever(more on that later).

St Louis finishes the year 78-84 in 4th place. Arizona won the world series.

I finish off very strongly, ending the year with a .279 Average. 97 hits, 15 HRs, 31 Steals! I am very, very pleased with the results of my rookie season, and at 22 years old, this could indeed turn into a hall of fame career!

Wehn you play out every day at the major league level, it takes about 3x as long, if not more. The play by play is on for your at bats if you want to see them(I have it at very fast, but no way to turn them OFF). It auto-saves after every game. I dont' seem to have a way to control either of those options. I do have the auto-boxscore at the end of the game turned off ,but it doesn't help enough.

Also, the days at the bar are not as helpful anymore. I only get eye and contact ratings there(which does make sense) but now they are both maxxed out. I think the extra time in the bar early in the career was very helpful and I perhaps maxxed out those ratnigs a year+ earlier than I may otherwise have.

All of this leads up to what people seem to have feared(or already noticed) about playing a hitter... there just isn't much else for me to do. I will continue to buy power and stealing books, and once I am making some real money I will tweak my equipment the way I want it. But that's probably all I'll do.

I am going to switch to simming a week at a time, and posting anything noteworthy as I go. After I can negotiate my own deals, I want to see if there is a way I can force my way onto the Chicago Cubs, my favorite team.

The game still rocks, but I am seeing the limitations here... I've already gotten more than my $20 out of it though, that is for sure.

I have a rookie card!

AAA 37-127, 5 HR, 24 RBI, 10 SB .291 AVG
ILB 97-348, 15 HR, 46 RBI, 31 SB, .279 average.

Price $2.05.

Very pretty numbers, that's for sure.

I hope to star this year...

APRIL: I'm simming now, so more highlights than anything. I am palyer of the game 3 times in April(now 7 times overall). I have a solid month, hitting .304 in 102 AB. 10 SB, 7 HR! I'm on pace for 100 RBIs and Runs. At Colorado on 4/29 I went 5-5, with 2 runs and 5 RBIs! The rookie card is $2.77 now.

MAY: For a brief moment in early may, I see myself on the leaderboards! My OPS was over 1.000 and was 3rd in the league, I was 3rd in the league in SB, and I had the longest hitting streak in the league at 9. I cooled off and all of those are gone now by the end of the month though. I'm batting .298, with 16 doubles and 11 HRs. 20 SB and a .950 OPS! I'm still on pace for Over 100 Runs and RBIs I think. 37 RBI/43 Runs. 1 more POG award(8 total now). A 2-4 day w/ 2 HRs, 3 runs and 4 RBIs vs Arizona was the highlight of the month. The rookie card is up to $3.34.

JUNE: A minor injury knocks me out for 3 days in June, but overall I'm playing very solid, consistant baseball. .296 avg through July 1, with 18 HRs, 53 RBIs, 60 runs, and 25 steals. The rookie card is up to $3.91, and I've got 1 more Player of the Game award(9 total).

July: I am selected to the National League all-star team! The rookie card shoots up to $5.50 in the heels of the all star appearance. I didn't actually play in the game though(assuming the normal game-by-game log would show me this). July brought 7 multi-hit games for me, and 2 player of the game awards. I may have an outside shot at 200 hits this year. I'm 2nd in the NL in doubles, and 14th in HRs after july. 15th in RBIs, 3rd in runs! The Cards are 55-50, 6 games out of first, probably not playof bound this year.

AUGUST: On August 23rd, I hit my 31st homer of the season and join the 30/30 club! Not bad for a 22 year old kid. the rookie card hits $6.12. I only hit .255 in August though, and it pulled my average down to .285 on the year. Oddly enough I was player of the game 5 times this month... I just had a lot more hitless games(a 4 game hitless streak, unheard of!)

SEPTEMBER: On 9/8 I score my 100th run of the year! On 9/17 the 100th RBI follows, and the 40th steal comes on the 18th. St Louis finishes about 10 games out of first. I cooled off the average a bit more in September, finishing with a still solidly respectable .274. If every season is like this one I'll break lots of records.

St Louis finishes the year 82-80 in 3rd place. Houston won the world series.

50/50 next year? Maybe take a run at the first 60/60 season, nice way to get your name in the record books early in your career.

60/60 is probably just a little bit far fetched, but, I hope to put up a 50/50 season sometime during my career!

The other problem with the majors and drinking is that you don't have the recovery time for the hangovers...

Good point. The only thing I'm missing now is the chance to get money out of my owner at the bar but that doesn't happen often enough to matter, and, soon enough I'll hit Arbitration and I imagine money will not be so much of an object anyway.

I ended up with something like 42 HRs and 52 Steals. I'll finish up the year tonight and get it posted. I'll break 100 HRs at age 24. I need to look up Griffey's pace at that age. I'm already at 125 Steals.

The rookie card is up to $13.37.

APRIL: I start off slow, .200 in week 1, the Cards are in last place out of the gate too. I get hurt for 3 days on 4/10, but i'm day-to-day and play through it, and the average quickly pushes itself up above .300 where it belongs. By the end of the month I've settled down to a .307 average, I've got 6 HRs and 5 Steals. The OPS is over 1.000. I only earn 1 Player of the game award, with a 3-4 day with 2 HRs. I get 6 3 hit days on the month though, accounting for over half of my 31 hits. The rookie card is up to $14.57.

MAY: I'm on the NL Leadearboard for steals with 11 in early May. I fall off that leaderboard on 5/12, but briefly enter the top 3 in RBIs, with 32 so far. St Louis is hovering just above .500. I go on a tear to end the month, and my 18 Steals is 2nd in the NL. My 39 RBIs at the end of May is 5th in the league. I've only got 10 HRs though so far. My average is still above .300 at .302. I am player of the game 3 times in may. I have 8 2-hit games and 1 3-hit game in May, and St Louis is up to 29-22, 3 games out of first.

JUNE: My average drops in June, but only down to .292. My numbers are solid though, 17 HRs, 27 SBs, 67 RBIs and 61 Runs. I am on pace to well surpass all my numbers from last yaer but home runs. I have the longest hitting streak in the majors right now, at 14 games! The rookie card is up to $17.39 and I hope to get the all star call. I'm going to sim day by day to see if I can play the all star game this year.

July: I am selected to the National League all-star team for the second year in a row! It apperas you can't play out the game? I stopped on it, and saw I was on the "NL ALL Star Team" in stead of st louis, but no play option. St Louis had finished June on a tear, and we are now 17 games over .500, and 2 games ahead of the Cubs in the division. July is a pretty dull month, I keep pace in a few things, and we are in a dogfight with the Cubs, but nothing too major happens. Batting .285, still 2nd in the league in RBIs, and 3rd in Steals. We close July tied for first with the Cubs. Rookie card has almost doubled, to $20.52.

AUGUST: Halfway through August it looks like I'm going to the postseason. 5 games up on Houston now. 8/21 I get my 100th RBI! Much earlier than last year. in August I go on a major tear, hitting 13 Home Runs! That pushes me up to 34 HRs on the year, and I have another shot at a 40/40 season. I have 100 runs now too, I got it on the last day of August.

SEPTEMBER: we're only 2 games up in early September. On 9/28 I get my 40th home run! Already over 50 steals. Looking solid! On Oct 1 we are 88-70, tied with Houston with 4 days to go. With 1 day left, we're still tied. in the NL East Philly and Atlanta are tied also, 1 game behind us. If Atlanta/Philly win, Houston/St Louis lose, we'll all be tied(2 teams for the wild card).. here's hoping that doesn't happen. And I end the game myself. We're down 7-4, I'm the tying run(2 men on), 2 out in the 9th. I pop out. Went 1-5. Houston also loses, and we will play a playoff game for the division. the loser is the wild card, so we are in the playoffs!

We lose our playoff game vs Houston. As a result, we're the wild card and will travel to Philadelphia to play the Phillies in the playoffs.

Game 1: I bat cleanup. My first time up is in the top of the 1st, 1st and 3rd with 1 out. I fly out to center, but it's deep enough to drive in the first run of the game. I lead off the 4th, game tied at 1. Strikeout. DOH. Top of the 6th, man on 2nd, 1-1 game, 1 out. I strike out. I ground out to lead off the 9th, and we lose by 2. Down 1 game to none. I am 0-3, 1 RBI, 2 Ks.

Game 2: I bat cleanup. i come up with men on 1st and 2nd, no out, 1 run in. I single through the hole, but the runner on 2nd is thrown out trying to score. Still 1-0 Cards. In the 3rd I draw a 2 out walk, and end up scoring a run, we lead 3-1. I strike out in the 5th, ground out in the 7th, and that's the game, St Louis evens the series. 1-3, 1 R, 1 BB, 1 K today.

Game 3: We're at home, series 1-1. I come up with 2 out in the first, 1 run is in, and it's 1-1. No one on base. I blast the 1-0 pitch to right center, and it clears the wall, my first postseason homer, and it's 2-1 Cards! I ground out in the 3rd, strikeout in the 5th. In the 7th I come up with no one on and two outs. A hot grounder over the 1st base bag nets me a triple! I'm stranded but we win, 6-5. I go 2-4, 1 3B, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 1 R, 1 K

Game 4: We're up 1 when I get up to bat in the first, 1-0. I draw a walk, and then after an error and a single, I score a run. I come up in the 3rd, we're down 4-3. 1 out, man on first. I hit one to the wall, its a double, but the runner can't score. We end up putting up 3 runs though, and take the lead 6-4. Another key at bat in the 4th for me. 1st and 3rd, 2 out, I hit another double! this one clears the bases and it's 8-4 St Louis. I'm on fire todya. I make outs my last two times up but no matter. We win 11-8 and win the series 3-1! I go 2-4, 2 doubles, 2 RBIs, 3 runs, 1 BB.

Next up, Los Angeles.

Game 1: I go 2-4 with 2 singles, drawing a walk and scoring 1 run, as we win 7-4. 1-0 Cards
Game 2: Uneventful until the 8th. I'm 0-3 so far, and we're trailing 3-2. I'm up with 1 out, and the bases are loaded. I tie the game up but just with a sac fly. We win 5-4, but i'm 0-3 with 1 RBI.
Game 3: I go 2-4 with a double, but am not involved in any of the scoring. St Louis wins 4-3 and we are looking towards the world series here soon!
Game 4: I ground into a double play in the 1st, and go 0-4 as we lose 2-1 in 10 innings. I struck out twice, both times I said something to the ump and my manager came out to argue. the second time, my manager got tossed! We lead the series 3-1.
Game 5: I get a single my first time up but it doesn't help us score. LA goes up 7-0 after 3. We come back despite me being 0-3, and I come up in the top of the 6th, the bases are loaded, we've plated four this inning already, and just 1 man is out. I get a single to keep the inning going, and to tie the game! We go up 10-8, give up a solo shot in the bottom of the 9th but hold on to win, and we are going to the world series! I go 2-6 with 1 RBI.

The 2008 World Series pits the St Louis Cardinals vs the New York Yankees(boooo!)

I'm hitting .314 in the postseason, with 1 HR and 6 RBIs.

Game 1: I start out 2-2 with a double, but we're trailing big time. And... I get pinch hit for! WHAT? I better be hurt. I'm not hurt. We lose 10-2 and only get 5 hits. That is a major WTF.
Game 2: I start out with an out, but in the 4th I hit a solo home run to open the scoring! That's all the scoring we do though. Loss 5-1. I go 1-4 with just the solo HR.
Game 3: top of the 1st, 2 out, man on 3rd, I come up desparately needing to give us the lead here... 448 feet later and we've got the lead, 2-0 on a big home run! I finish off the game going 3-4, but we lose again and are down 3-0.
Game 4: I go 2-6 today, and its a huge day. 2 HR, 4 RBIs, and we crush the yankees 15-5!
Game 5: Two walks and an RBI triple is my part of an 11-1 blowout. We're down 3-2, can we do the impossible here?!
Game 6: The yankees get 4 in teh 1st and we're in trouble. Its the bottom of the 9th. I hit a hard ground ball, might be a double play, but I run it out hard to beat it out and a run scores!! Unfortunately, we were hitless until the bottom of the 9th, and that run was our second. My RBI groundout makes it 19-2 Yankees, and that's how our season ends. Ouch.

We finish as the National League Champs, and runner up to the Yankees. Quite a good season.

An absolutely awesome year. We didn't win it all but it sure wasn't my fault. My fielding was better this year too. All of my numbers have gotten better, and in a few years perhaps I can put up a 200 hit season as well, but really, no need to be greedy.

My power has absolutely shot up during the offseason! It's up to 97. I'm almost maxxed out.

This year is my first year of arbitration. I have been rewarded with a yearly salary of $4,180,000!

I'm now 24 years old, and am no longer listed as a prospect. I'm a 4 star 1B This is a solid team, there are 5 pitchers who are 4 stars or better on the roster.

My rookie card shot up to $35.40 during the offseason.

I drop some of my exercises, the past couple of seasons I've tailed off after the first two months. I am hoping now that I am mostly done w/ my development that I can get by with more energy throughout the year.

APRIL: I suffer for most of April hitting in the low .200s, but a hot streak at the end of the month pushes me up to .271 for April. I

hit 7 HRs and 9 Steals, 20 RBIs/15 Runs.

MAY: I earn player of the week honors on the 3rd week of May! My average is still up and down, but it's settled in at .284, quite solid.

I have 17 HRs and 13 Steals. 44 RBIs and 38 Runs pretty much guarentees a 100 RBI/Runs season. This was my first player of the week award.

St Louis is tied for first at 30-21 after May.

JUNE: Only 6 HRs in June, I'm up to 23 on the year, and 59 runs. 71 RBIs is leading the league! And I have only 18 steals, I look to be on

for the 40/40 year but some of my numbers may end up down... We're only 41-38, 5 games out of first. Hopefully I'm still good enough to be an

all star.

July: I am selected to the all star team for the third year in a row. At the break I'm 2nd in the league in RBIs, and only 2 HRs off of

1st. I finish July on a hot streak, as does the team.

AUGUST: I get my 100th RBI this year on 8/9, 12 days earlier than last year. I'm in the top 3 in HRs throughout the month of August as

well. I pick up a few more steals this month than I have been recently, I probably won't be a 40/40 man but 30/30 is a lock. Unfortunately

though, St Louis is slumping badly and we are 8 games out of first going into September. We're 3 or 4 out of the wild card as well. My average

is down to .264, and I might see a career low there, but I'm not sure that's a big deal. I have a rookie card worth $48.14. I only had 3

multi-hit games in August, it was kinda a slow month for a star like me.

SEPTEMBER: We need a big winning streak to make the playoffs this year, and it doesn't look like its coming. It's definitely not as we

fall below .500 in a horrible slump. I'm in a slump myself, the average staying at .265 and I didn't hit a HR for the first 10 days of the

month... will I even get 40? Ok, on 9/25 I finally do hit my 40th home run. We finish a horrid 79-83 and of course, do not make the playoffs.

My numbers are fine though, I would really like to see a .300 year, I wonder if I can get a contact talent boost at some point here to allow that

to happen? I'm being greedy though, I hit 41 HRs, drove in 128, scored 118, and stole 34 bases. I really shouldn't complain.

Tampa Bay beat Florida to win the world series this year.

I get a small raise in my second year of arbitration, I'm up to $4,505,715 a year. I've got almost 6 million in the bank, and I think its time to do a little shopping for some new equipment.

My bat has a gap +2 rating. I know for sure I want a nice contact bat. I have a few options available to me, and in the end I spend $2,949,800 on the Silver Slugger Inc Bruiser. It has a +7 Contact, +4 Gap, and -4 power. I want to hit for a better average, hitting 35 HRs and .300 would be better than .270 and 40 Hrs. So I'll try this out. My other realistic option would have been +8 contact, +7 power, and -7 gap. I think this will work better for me.

I get the best gloves I can find that are reasonable for me. +2 contact, +3 gap, for $273,000.

There's a better glove out there too. i had a +10 glove, and found a +12 one. DOH, but my defense ratings aren't high enough.. they're off by 2. Oh well.

I forsake some defense with my shoes too, and buy some +9 speed shoes. They replace my +3 defense, +6 speed ones.

I now go into games with Contact 69, Eye 60, Power 96, Gap 107, Speed 75, Defense 53. Very solid. Hopefully the contact helps noticibly.

APRIL: I go 3-4 with 2 Homers in my first game of the year. I end up having one of my worst months ever though, as I only bat .228. I do hit 10 HRs on the month, drive in 22, and score 24 runs, so I'm getting on base a lot and drawing some walks, but the average is annoying. My rookie card, by the way, is at $69.17. St Louis is 14-14 and in last palce(tough division)

MAY: What is up with me this season? My average hasn't risen above .250 yet... Finally, the last 5 days of the month, I have 4 multi hit games to bring the average up to .240... My power numbers are great, 19 HRs, 49 RBIs, 45 Runs, but only 6 steals so far, only 17 singles in my 49 hits, its all doubles and homers so far. I'm happy with my power, but I would really like to see the average go up here. St Louis is 26-25, 4th place but only 2 games back. I hit my 150th home run earlier in the month. I'm 25 years old and 1/3 of the way through my 5th major league season. Not too shabby.

JUNE: I hope to keep my hitting streak up... And I start off well, a 4-4 day against the Phillies(with 2 HRs). The average tops .250, gets up to .266 on the 7th of June, maybe the end is in sight. I am on a tear here, lots of multi hit games, June 15th the average is up to .270. My hot streak is rewarded. I win my first batter of the month award of my career! In June, I got 36 hits, 8 doubles/13 HRs! 32 RBIs/28 runs. 6 steals. I batted .321 and had an OPS of an awesome 1.105. I now have 32 HRs, 81 RBIs, 73 Runs by the end of June! I seem to be a lock to set career highs in all 3 of those numbers. St Louis went on a little tear and is 1st in the division by 3 games as well.

July: It is becoming an annual award for me, and I have again been selected an all star. Four years in a row! I lead the league in HRs and RBIs at the break. 2 2 hit games in a row in mid july sees my average at a seasonal high of .275. 2 Homers on the last day of the month puts me at 99 RBIs, 38 HRs, 89 runs... I'll break 40/100/100 in very early August it seems. That was my worst month of the season in all of those stats though. A .241 average kept me down at .263 on the season. St louis as a team is 54-49, 1 game out of first.

AUGUST: August 1nd nets me my 100th RBI. August 3rd is my 40th HR. I'm heating up again here... 100 runs as of August 13th. My power numbers are way up early in the month too and my OPS is now 1st in the National League! I'm rewarded with a player of the week award! And another batter of the month award! My average hasn't been this high in a long time, it's .281! I hit 13 more Homers on the month, and batted .349, driving in 34/scroing 25 runs. On the season I now have 51 Home Runs! With a month+ to go still... I've already bested my best RBI season by 2, I have 133. with 114 runs, I need 12 in September to best myself there. I'm 13 HRs away from 200 on my career. St Louis holds on to a 1 game lead in the central.

SEPTEMBER: The cards open up a 4 game lead by 9/15 in the division, and my average is settling down near my career .270... but I stay hot and am pushing .280 near the end of the month. I'm running a lot more too, I might steal 30 somehow. I hit 2 HRs on 10/2, I've got 58 for the year with 3 games left in the season. I hit one more to finish with 59 on the year! I set career bests with 154 RBIs and 144 runs as well. My OPs is #2 in the league, Homers and RBIs are both tops in the league. I also score 17 more runs than anyone else in the league! Impressive.

St Louis wins the NL Central and will host Arizona in the first round of the playoffs.

Game 1: I go 0-4 with a walk in a 7-6 loss.
Game 2: I get 2 hits, but get thrown out stealing on one of them... we lose 5-3.
Game 3: 0-4 with 2 Ks, we win 3-0, but we only got 4 hits as a team.
Game 4: I'm 0-3 so far, and we trail 1-0 in the top of the 9th. i'm leading off the inning trying to keep us alive... I strike out. We tie the game but lose in the bottom of the 9th... much different than my first trip to the playoffs.

At the end of the year, I get a phone call I wasn't really thinking much about. I have been awared the Outstadnding Batter of the year award in the NL! My average did end up at .276 and my power numbers were simply awesome. My first major award!

I am making $5 Million this year. I can re-negotiate here or let myself become a free agent... this is hard. I am a die hard cubs fan. Making my millions in St Louis is not easy for me to stomach, but this is a playoff contender. But, so are the Cubs most every year. I can't do it... I'm going to try to re-negotiate...

I try to go way way too high... 12 million a year for 7 years. It gets rejected and my owner comes back with $6.7 mil.

My second offer gets accepted and maybe I should have pushed harder. $7.5 Million/year for 4 years.

I spend all my money on a new bat. Contact +8, Gap +9... it helps my cotnact just as much with no negatives. WOO.

I get some new gloves too, contact +2, power +3, contact +4. WOO again.

My rookie card is up to $133.26 now, looking solid with an outstanding batter trophy on the shelf.

I am 5 HRs away from 200. 9 steals from 200. 256 hits from 1000(yeah right, not this year). I'll draw my 400th walk too.

I now go into games with Contact 70, Eye 60, Power 103, Gap 113, Speed 77, Defense 53. Very solid. Improved on last year even.

APRIL: I hit .421 in the first week of the year, much better than last year. 4 HRs too. It's good enough for player of the week! I cool off a ton though. .253, 6 HR, 5 steals after a month. 20 runs/14 RBIs... we are in first place early at 15-11, but I need to pick up my numbers.

MAY: I finish reading one of the last books that can help me... my steals rating hits 100. But May is no better. I close the month batting .245, 10 HRs, 12 SBs, 32 RBIs/35 Runs... awfully cold for me here. St Louis is 29-22 but one game behind Houston.

JUNE: June is no better and I imagine I am going to be missing the all star game for the first time ever. I'm only batting .233, i have 16 HRs/18 Steals, I can still get hot and get all my milestones, 40 Hr/30 SB/100 Runs/100 RBIs but I am not on pace for any of that right now.

July: We're 42-39, 4 out of first at the all star break, and i'm still cold. This is depressing, I'm supposed to just charge my way to solid seasons every year no matter what! I finish July batting .226! I do have 24 HRs and 23 Steals. 72 RBIs/67 Runs. But wow look at that average. The team struggles with me, 49-54, 9 games out of first.

AUGUST: I just can't have two good games in a row... a 2 hit game followed by 3 hitless games... In mid august I get 5 hits and 3 HRs over 2 days, finally, another 3hit game on 8/11 and I'm up to .237, time to heat up a little and make these numbers respectable? 5 straight 2 hit games and I'm up to .246... 31 HRs and I'm starting to produce a little, too little too late unfortunately. I halfway expect batter of the month. It doesn't come though. I hit .337 with 9 HRs, 30 RBis on the month. It raises my average to .249, I do have 33 HRs, 102 RBIs, 89 Runs and 26 Steals... the nummbers are there outside of the singles.

SEPTEMBER: We have no shot at the playoffs so its all about me now. Can I have another solid month and push over .250 or .260? It doesn't look like it early on, down to .242 on 9/15. I don't even get my 40th home run until October... 10/2, our next to last game. Outside of my average, the numbers are very very solid.

Boston beats Los Angeles to win the world series.

OOPS, in my frenzy to get out of this season, I continue before I get my season stats... Career numbers only right now.

I'll top 250 HRs and 1000 Hits next year, as a 27 year old. To break Hammerin Hank's record, I need to average 40 HRs a season over my next 12 seasons. Knowing how decline in OOTP usually works, I better start hitting 50 a year. I will never see 3000 hits. I should get 500 steals but its not a 100% guarentee yet like HRs seems to be.

This is why I'll never be sold on OOTP as a baseball sim. I just don't think it simulates baseball in any realistic way.

You drop to a .241 batting average, nearly 30 points off of your career average - yet it's nearly all from a loss of homers. Apparently the 19 homers you dropped from the previous season *all* became long flyouts - as your single, double, and triple numbers stayed pretty much static. Your walk numbers stay static. Your strikeout numbers stay static.

Literally, the difference between your two seasons was that 19 homers all turned into outs.

I mean, yes, I'm sure there are some players who have seasons like this. But how often do you see a healthy player fluctuate like that in MLB? Certainly not with the frequency as in OOTP.

I was hoping that the new OOTP sim engine was going to fix this problem ... I just can't see myself upgrading to v6 - especially if Shaun Sullivan can do anything close to what he is claiming.

APRIL: I make some changes to my workout regimen, add more batting practice, and hope it helps me out at the plate(I may have it backwards, maybe since I'm maxxed this is dumb). St Louis goes 13-13 throughout April, and I bat exactly .250 in April, with 10 HRs, 25 RBIs, 19 runs and only 6 steals.

MAY: I have my best hitting streak ever in May, , it reaches 19 games before an 0-4 day May 17th vs the Cubs. During the streak I take over the league lead in HRs and RBIs, and get the average up to .280. I cool of after that though, and end the month right back where I started, at .250. I got exactly 100 ABs and 25 hits each month. I now have 19 HRs, 13 SBs, 50 RBIs and 41 runs... I may be all star material even at .250 at this rate. We're 26-25, 3rd place but 9 games out of first.

JUNE: I still lead the league in RBIs and HRs starting up June. I stay consistantly at .250 through 6/15, and stay atop the leaderboards. After a much needed day off I push the average up to .260 with a few multi hit games, another hot week pushes me over .270 and I'm finally hitting well again. I'm 3rd in the league in OPS, and still leading in RBIs and HRs. On June 29th, I am awarded player of the week honors! Ending June I'm on antoher hitting streak, this one of 11 games. My 1.009 OPS is 3rd, 31 HRs is 5 more than anyone else in the league, 79 RBIs leads the league. St Louis had a good month, up to 7 games over .500, 43-36 and 5 out of first.

July: For the 5th time, I am an obvious all star. I keep my numbers steady throughout july, and a 3 hit game at the end of the month puts me at .274, as high as i've been in awhile. 38 HRs, 100 RBIs, in july!! 82 runs and 25 Steals. I'm putting up some big time numbers this year. The team is still holding steady, 53-50, only 3 games out of first now, any team going on a hot streak can win this division. My rookie card tops $200, at $203.94. I'm happy to be returning to form and will crush last year's numbers. I only hit 40 HRs last year, I'm only 2 away with 2 full months to go. Also, in early July, I got my 1000th career hit! At age 27, not too bad for a guy who doesn't hit for great average

AUGUST: I push my average up to .280 on 8/9! I still lead the league in HRs and RBIs, and St Louis has pushed up to 2nd in the Division, 3 games back still. I get my 30th steal late in the month and have to assume I am a major contender for my 2nd batter of the year title. I have 141 Hits, 46 doubles, 45 HRs, 130 RBIs, 107 runs, 30 steals, and an ops flirting with 1.000 (1.004 right now). St Louis is 69-61 after August, 2 games out of first place.

SEPTEMBER: I go into September needing to help my team make the playoffs, but also, wanting to smash 50 HRs and steal 40. The steals aren't cming easy, but I get my 50th HR on 9/12! My average is up to .288! And I get a player of the week award on 9/14. Unfortunately St Louis has fallen pretty much out of the race... Milwaukee just ran awa with the division. I end up with 10 steals exactly in September, putting me at 40 steals with 4 games to go. I have 56 HRs too, but 60 is unlikely. I hit 1 more, and fnish with 57.

Minnesota beats Milwaukee to win the world series.

I am not suprised at all to see that I am awarded outstanding batter of the year. This is easily my best season ever! I set career highs in hits(178), doubles(55), RBIs(156), Batting Average(.289), Slugging(.666) and of course OPS(1.032). I came 2 off my best in HRs ever, I hit 59 in 2010. A very imposing set of numbers on the year.

I end the season with 292 HRs, and 263 Steals for my career. A 500/500 career is not a lock but it is not out of reach by any means. I turn 28 at the end of the year.

With the new all star appearance, and my 2nd Outstanding Hitter trophy in trophy room, my rookie card shoots up to $245. My ratings are maxxed as I click end of season.

2013

The season opens and my rookie card is up to $286.35. I have $15 Million in the bank and decide to do a little shopping, but there is nothing available that tops what I have. I'll start checking every month for upgrades.

APRIL: I have a solid consistant month, batting .298, 7 HRs, 17 RBIs, 16 Runs, and 10 steals. We're 12-14, 3rd, 3 games out of first place. I can't get a higher contact bat without my power suffering, so I stick with what I've got.

MAY: Its early may and I lead the lageu in OPS and Steals, this is different than my usual seasons! I carry a 15 game hitting streak that ends on 5/18. My average has stayed above .300 for the entire month. It was up near .330 for most of the month but fell down a little towards the end. I go on a big home run tear though, and win the batter of the month! Its my 3rd ever Batter of the Month award. I got 30 hits, 11 HRs, 28 RBIs/25 Runs, 12 steals in May. I batted .309 on the month. On the year I am now hitting .304 with 18 HRs/22 Steals, looking absolutely great so far. The team is still hanging around .500, 6 games out of first now. The rookie card is at $298.13, it'll top $300 this month presumably.

JUNE: Going into the month I lead the league in OPS, am 3rd in HRs and 2nd in Steals. I start out June cold though and the average is down all the way to .271 at its lowest point. I close out the month wwith a few multi hit games to push the average back up to .289. I have 27 HRs and 25 Steals. I am technically on pace for a 50/50 season, lets see if I can keep it up! We remain in 3rd as a team, 4 games out of first.

July: At the all star break I am 2nd in the league in OPS, and 1st in HRs. My 8 game hitting streak is also 3rd. I am, of course, selected to the all star team, my 6th selection in 8 seasons total. I get my 30th HR on 7/12, looking good! A big 3/4 day to end the month keeps my average just at .280. I have 34 HRs now but only 29 steals, that pace slowed down quite a bit last month.

AUGUST: My average creeps down just a bit during August but it finishes at .273, no problems there, right around the career average. I got my 100th RBI at the end of the month, and only 1 steal all month, I now have 30. 94 runs, and the OPS has slipped down to .973. I have set a career high in triples, I have 9 on the year. We're out of contention in teh division unfortunately.

SEPTEMBER: I go on an aboslute tear in September, I've driven in over 30 runs! The average is back up to over .280, and I am not suprised to have been awarded the batter of the month award. On the month I got 37! hits, batted .322, hit 11 HRs, and drove in 34 runs. Solid! I stole 5 bases, and I should note that I have 35 steals right now, and only have been caught 1 time. With 2 games left I have 49 HRs... I get #50! And finish with a .279 average. I finish with the 3rd best OPS in the NL, 2nd most HRs, and the most RBIs. I also scored 120 runs and stole 35 bases. Another all around great season.

I am awarded the Outstanding Batter of the year award! This is the 3rd on my career, and 2nd in a row!

This is my 8th major league season, and I just turned 29 years old at the end of the season. I have 1270 career hits, 342 HRs, 983 RBIs and 927 Runs. I have 298 Steals. If I can play 10 more years, I just need to average 20 steals a year to finish with 500, if I can keep the 30 SB pace up I could be a 600/600 man if my ratings hold up strong.

Before I click on to next season, my rookie card is worth $355.53.

I hope to continue rolling on towards HR 750, Steal 600, and I really hope to lead St Louis back into the playoffs. Next year is the last year of my contract, and I plan on going into free agency and seeing if I can land on a stronger team.

APRIL: I hit a grand slam on opening day. Not bad! I'm only hitting .200 on 4/17 though, I don't think I'm getting any awards this month... I actually fall to .192, and it takes a 3 game hitting streak to end the month to get me back to .208. 4 Hrs, 4 steals, 18 RBIs, 18 runs. It needs to get a lot better than this. St Louis is 11-15, 8 games out of first.

I see the bat of dreams on ebay. The Wonderboy. contact +16, Power +17, Gap +18. I decide this will be my bat. I have $21 Million and nothing to do with it. Well, I didn't win it. I waited until the last day, bid all my money(I have $21 Million, it was at $19 Million), and got outbid.

MAY: May is looking much better, by 5/11, I'm up to .260. A 2 HR game brings me over 10 HRs on the year at 5/15, finally picking things up just a little, but I have a ways to go to make this a solid numbers year. I end up hitting .318, 12 HRs, 6 steals, and its enough for the Batter of the month award! 24 RBIs and 20 Runs help too... I'm up to 16 HRs and 10 Steals.

JUNE: A big 4/5 day on 6/13 pushes me to .270 temporarily, and I get my 20th HR at the same time. By the end of June I'm on the leaderboards, leading the league in OPS and 2nd in HRs. I'm batting .270 with 24 HRs, 16 steals, 62 RBIs and 64 runs. 16 Steals and a .995 OPS and I'm a sure all star again. Too bad the team stinks. 5th place, 10 out of first.

July: I am, of course, selected to the all star team. I lead the league in OPS and am tied for first in HRs. On 7/9 I have a 7 RBI day! That's a record for me. That game helps me become the player of the week. July ends with a 2-5 day, 2 HRs, 5 RBIs... I end up with 86 RBIs at the end of the month, 79 Runs, I have 35 HRs and 20 Steals. Looking solid! My average is .260, still not a bad recovery after that first month.

AUGUST: I have 7 more HRs than anyone else in the NL on 8/4... 37 to 30. 8/9 I get my 40th HR, and my average is up to .275, I killed that week, and get player of the week award again. The average is up to .275. The average falls back down to .261, and I get most of my numbers in that first week. 42 HRs to end August, and i've topped 100 runs and RBIs again. Only 25 Steals, so I need a good month for a 30/30 season. The Cards are out of the race though.

SEPTEMBER: I try to close out with another solid month, I'd like 50 HRs and 30 steals here. By 9/15 though I only have 44 HRs so it doesn't look likely. That was a pretty crappy ending to the year, I end up with 46 HRs, but I do get the steals I wanted, I finish with 33. the average is one of my worst ever at .255. I lead the league in HRs though.

I have 1425 career hits, and 388 HRs, so 1500/400 will come next year.

Before I click on to next season, my rookie card is worth $455.26.

Its a contract year, and I have no interest in playing for the Cards next year, so I don't worry about any of that, but I hope to put up 60 HRs to get my millions.

My rookie card is $512.17 going into the season.

APRIL: Much better start than last year, I hit .438 in the first week. Unfortunately I cool way off after that, and finish the month hitting .255. I hit 5 HRs and steal 11 bases, a great SB number.

MAY: May starts off slowly, the average falls to .240, and I don't hit a homer until 5/9. I start hitting a few more though and finally get my 10th HR on 5/23. It's going to take an amazing June to be an all star again, I close out the month batting only .244. I have 11 HRs and 18 Steals, 40 RBIs/36 Runs. St Louis is playing very very well, we're 33-18 and 5 over the 2nd place team.

JUNE: The steals are nice but I need HRs and a better average to be an all star again this year, but June isn't really starting off all that great either. Two 3 hit games in a row finally push me back over .250, and 2 more multi hit games push me to .260, so I finally get a smal hot streak. More multi hit games and I hit .270 towards the end of the month, and oh wow did I make myself an all star after al? 6/28 I get 2 HRs to hit 20 finally. I end June batting .268, with 21 HRs and 28 Steals, 67 RBIs and 61 Runs. I'm finally back on pace... I hit .306 that month, with 34 hits/10 HRs/27 RBIs and 25 runs, and I steal 10... 28 steals/2 CS by the all star break is impressive. i'm kinda suprised that wasn't player of the month material.

July: There's no call. I'm not an all star this year, only the 2nd time since my first season. This is a big time down year in the NL in homers, I am #3 with 25 HRs, 1st is 32. There's a guy in Oakkland with 47 Hrs, chasing the babe, mcgwire and maybe even bonds. A 2 HR game on 7/29 puts me up to 31, and that's where I end the month. I'm batting .255, with 31 HRs, 88 RBIs, 82 runs, and 32 Steals. It's turning into a nice season, but I want to hit for more average than this. St Louis is running away with the division, we're 65-38.

AUGUST: We're 12 games up in the division, but I still dont' want to re-sign, I'll try out free agency. I now have 33 HRs, leading the NL. Kimberling in Oakland has 53 on 8/10. I get RBI #100 on 8/16, i'm driving them in like crazy. I've got 40 steals too, so I'm going to have a 40/40 year here... the average is still crappy, at .250, but I have 38 HRs, 111 RBIs, 101 Runs, and 41 Steals at the end of August.

SEPTEMBER: My 40th HR comes on 9/5, and I keep hitting them. I finish out the regular season batting .254, only 157 hits on the year. I hit 46 HRs, and steal 46 bases. 139 RBIs, 119 runs.

We finish as a team 97-65, the best I've seen from St Louis since I have been on the team.

We host Arizona in the wild card round:

Game 1: I go 1-4, and ARizona beats us 4-1.
Game 2: I hit a solo HR in the 7th, we were down 2-0 and I get us back in the game. too bad we lose, 4-2. I go 2-4 with a HR.
Game 3: 2 hits including a 3 run HR and we win big 11-0. We trail 2-1 in the series.
Game 4: We win a big game here, 6-3 in 11 innings. I walked and scored a run in the 11th, other than that I am 0-4.
Game 5: This'll decide it! We win it! 5-4 in 11 innings. I gave us two good chances to score with 2 hits but my teammates didn't help me out. We got the win though and advance.

I hit .318 on the series, with a double and 2 HRs.

We play Philadelphia for the right to go to the world series.

Game 1: We're on the road. I go 1-3 with a double and drive in a run, and draw a walk. But we lose 6-2.
Game 2: I go 1-4 with a run, we come up big and win this one 7-1.
Game 3: We lose again, this one is 4-3, not my fault though, I go 2-4 with 2 doubles and 2 RBIs and 1 run.
Game 4: I take a called strike 3 in the first, bitch about it, and get kicked out. DOH. We win a back and forth game, 7-6. Series tied at 2.
Game 5: I'm 0-3. Its the bottom of the 8th. We're trailling 3-1, men on 1st and 2nd, 1 out. I smash a 407 foot home run to put us ahead 4-3! That's the final score and boy was that a clutch hit!
Game 6: We can go to the series with a win here. I have a chance... we're down 2-1, men on 2nd and 3rd and I'm up with 2 outs, but I ground out, and we go on to lose 4-2.
Game 7: The winner goes to the world series! I walk the bases loaded in the first, we get 1 run in the inning and lead 1-0. Still 1-0 when I come up in the 3rd. I ground out, 1-0 after 3. We're trailing 2-1 when I come up in the 6th, I strike out. In the 8th we're in trouble. Down 5-2, man on 3rd, 2 out. Another big time clutch hit, as I knock one 447 feet and over the fence! We still trail 5-4 though. We end up losing 6-4.

Philly beats Boston to win the world series.

Its January and I'm a free agent. I have no idea how this process works.

I have 4 offers on day 1. All of them are in the $7.5 M/year range, not a big raise. I don't like any of the teams, Baltimore, Atlanta, Seattle, and Florida. I want to stay in the NL, making florida my only option so far.

I enter a demand of $9M/year for 3 years.

I favor florida's offer early on.

I announce that i'm willing to sign for less, hoping to get an offer from the Cubs.

The braves offer me $8.7 Million. I will absolutely not play for Atlanta.

Ohhhhhh, I can contact other teams! I give the Cubs a call, and ask for my $5.5 million, and get it. They offer me $5,564,057 over 3 years. I go ahead and accept. Money is no object, I want to be a Cub! (I should have asked for more, but I really want to be a cub, they'll pay me more to hit the rest of my HRs with them later on).

My rookie card is $615.49 going into the season. I'm 31 years old going into the year.

APRIL: I hit a homer in my first two games each, and 4 of my first 5 games, off to a good start as a Chicago Cub. I cool off fast though, by 4/14 the average has hit .200 and I still have just 4 HRs. I get 6 hits in my last two games, and finish off with a pretty good month. I hit .271, 9 HRs, 6 steals, driving in 24 runs and scoring 23. The cubs are 12-14. St Louis is very, very good.

MAY: I'm on a tear, a 14 game hitting streak, with 5 2-hit or more games in a row... well, the streak ends at 14 but I am up to .300 at the time. hahaha. damn cubs. I am traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks on May 31st. I'm hitting .281 with 15 HRs, 11 steals, 41 RBIs/41 Runs after May. Oh my god, I am part of a 4 player deal, 3 go TO arizona, just 1 to the cubs. who is so good that I'm just 1 piece of the puzzle to get him!? Damn Cubs! It takes FOREVER to load the league website w/ full player pages, but I want to see this punk I got traded for. He's no better than me at all. He's 28 years old, 3 years younger, but he is not at all as good as I am. .272 career average and about 25 HRs a season. Another baffling move by the Cubs. Arizona is 5 games over .500, 6 games behind the Giants.

JUNE: Arizona goes on a tear and takes over 1st place. I have an ok month, my average drops almost 30 points to .253, and I'm at 21 HRs and 17 steals, probably not all star material.

July: Welp, I was wrong, I am an all star! Go me! .257, 20 HRs, on pace for 100 RBIs/120 Runs still. Arizona has a 6 game lead on San Francisco, maybe we'll get a shot at the Cardinals. My home run pace was low but I hit 7 HRs in the last week of July to get up to 31 HRs. I'm at .273 with 31 HRs, 75 RBIs, 82 Runs, 23 steals... looking good! Arizona has a 3 game lead over the Giants, and a big edge on the wild card should they catch us.

AUGUST: I get player of teh week, for my last week in July mainly, 6 HRs on the week. I'm up to 36 HRs by 8/15, leading the NL and 2nd in the majors. August ends with me at .261 average, 37 HRs, 94 RBIs, 100 Runs, and 28 steals... I've been pretty inconsistant this year but the HR and steal numbers are still there so I can't complain.

SEPTEMBER: I get my 40th HR on 9/13. An astounding 8 game losing streak knocks Arizona not only out of first but out of the wild card for now... it's going to be very very close ocoming down the stretch. A 4 hit game w/ 2 HRs helps to give us a win, and gives me a player of the week award. With 4 games to go we are 2 out of the wild card, and 2 out of the division race. 3 gaes to go and I have 47 HRs, 36 steals. We lose out though and don't make the playoffs.

We finish with a good 92-70 record but its not good enough.

St Louis makes the world series but loses 4-3 to Detroit.

I finish with another solid season, .274 with 58 Doubles, 48 HRs, 36 Steals, 122 RBIs and 121 Runs. All in all a great graet year.

My rookie card is at $680.46 as I click the button for next year. I've turned 32 years old, and hope to stay in my prime as long as possible.

Barring a major injury I should hit a major milestone this year. I have 482 career home runs. My 18th this year will be my 500th home run.

My rookie card is at $748.51 right now. I have 8 all star appearances and 3 batter of the year awards in my trophy case.

APRIL: It'd be nice to get off to a hot April here... After 30 at bats and a .112 average, I worry a bit though. But a hot streak follows, a 4 hit game and a 2 hit game get me up to .229, and I hope to keep it going. It's just not happening, and it takes a couple of good games in the last 5 days of the month to get me to .200 even. Ouch. 7 HRs/7 Steals, 18 RBIs/19 Runs. Arizona is struggling too, 4 games under .500 and 5 games out of first.

MAY: I spent $5 Million on a power/gap bat. The +8 contact on my last bat seems worthless, but, I don't sell it just yet, I hang on to both. I now go into games with 63 contact, 109 power, and 118 gap rating... My average lingers around .220 all month, it finishes off at .215. I hit a bunch of HRs and have 16 HRs at the end of the month, 9 steals, 37 RBIs/42 Runs... Arizona is 3 games over .500 and 3 games out of first.

JUNE: I need an extremely hot June here... I start off good, the average is up to .237 on 6/8, I have 20 HRs. It keeps going up, as high as .245. A 4-5 day on 6/16 pushes me up to .249! Back to normal finally? Lets keep rolling up though! I see .250 for the first time on 6/25, but go hitless 3 straight games after that. I close the month out with a 3-5 game to push my average to .246. I have 26 HRs/12 Steals, 69 RBIs/67 runs... Arizona is back in first now too. Is this enough to be an all star again?

7/1/2017 - You won the auction for WONDERBOY. It cost me $32 Million dollars. +16 contact, +17 power, +10 gap. Holy crap!

July: Do I get the all star call? Yes! Good to see 9th all star appearance of my career. I have 3 great games to end the month, and my average is up to .259. I have 30 HRs, 19 steals, 88 RBis and 87 runs. All solid. Arizona is 13 games over .500 but in 3rd, 3 games out of first.

AUGUST: I start August off a bit slow, just 1 HR and the average drops to .250 by 8/10. I pick it up a bit a the end of the month though to remain pretty much on the exact same pace. I finish august with a .256 average, 38 HRs, 27 Steals, 104 RBIs and 105 Runs... The NL West is rough, we are 74-56, but 1 game out of first, in third. Two teams are tied above me for first. Another dogfight for the playoffs coming up.

SEPTEMBER: If we can just finish 2nd in the division we'll get the wild card easily, but it's going to be close. I get my 40th HR around 9/12. The average still flirts with .250, and throughout the month we are 1 back or tied for the wild card. By the endof September I'm on a major cold streak, my average has fallen all the way to .242, but the power is sitll there... 45 HRs with 4 games left. We fail again to make the playoffs. We're 90-72 but 2 games out of the wild card.

San Francisco beats Anaheim 4-2 to win the world series.

I'm disappointed with my average, but the HRs and SBs are still there and i'm pretty much playing for records now. I finish with 46 HRs/30 Steals, 124 RBIs/124 Runs.

My rookie card is at $808.58 as I click the button for next year. I've turned 33 years old now...

The HR Chase continues, and I'd like a ring if Arizona can get to the playoffs...

APRIL: I get hurt and am day to day for 6 days, my first injury of any sort in a number of years. I play through it though and actually get a couple of good games. Its another slow April though... my average finishes at .235, 6 HR/6 steals, 16 RBIs/17 runs... We're 14-12, 4 games out of first.

MAY: I start off May a bit better and am up to .260 on 5/10. I'm able to push .270 on 5/15. I get another day to day injury on 5/17. Its only 3 days long, I play through it and cool off badly, I go about 5 games in a row without a hit and the average hits .230 at its worst. I finish the month at .237, 13 HRs/9 Steals. 33 RBIs/37 Runs.

JUNE: Another June where I need a miracle to be an all star... I don't think it's happening, on 6/15 i've only got 15 HRs this year, and the average is still .240. Just too many hitless games... at the end of June i'm batting .236, with 19 HRs/16 Steals, 49 RBIs/61 Runs. We have an amazing 50-29 record and aren't even 1st in our division.

July: I expect no call this year, despite a 2 HR game pushing me to 21 HRs before the break. And indeed, it doesn't come this time. A 3 hit game is followed by a 5 strikeout game.. this is just my season this yaer I guess. I hope its not a sign of age. I can still get 40 HRs and 30 Steals, and boy do I need them. We're 65-38 after July, but still in 2nd. I am hitting .240, 25 HRs/19 Steals.

AUGUST: On 8/2 I hit 2 HRs against the division leading Dodgers, and we tie them for the lead. A small hitting streak gets my average over .250 for the first time in months... now, can i keep it there? Looks like it! Up to .255 to end the month. I am awarded the batter of the month award! I hit .305 on the month after not having a single month over .250 so far this year... I also slam 12 HRs and am almost at 40. 31 RBIs and i'm on pace again for a great run production set of numbers... .253, 37 HRs, 99 RBIs, 98 Runs, 22 Steals.

SEPTEMBER: Arizona is hot, we have a 4 game lead over the dodgers and a lock on the wild card. I hit my 40th HR on 9/15. I keep going and end September with 47 HRs! A 2 HR game on 10/4 puts me at 49 with 2 games to go. I win a player of the week award, but don't get my 50th HR. It's ok though, we are going to the playoffs! I finish up with a .260 average, 49 HRs, 31 Steals, 132 RBIs and 126 Runs. Another solid season.

My rookie card is at $948.49 going into the playoffs. Would a ring get me over $1000?

Before the playoffs start, I notice I'm in my last year. Arizona is playoff bound and has won 90 games every year, so I am happy to stay with them. I ask for $10 Million over 5 years, and I'm locked into being a Diamondback until I'm 39 years old.

We play Houston in round 1:

game 1: I go 0-4. So does most of my team. We lose 10-1. down 1-0
game 2: I go 1-4 with a double in a 5-3 win. Tied 1-1
game 3: I open the scoring in the first with a 2 run home run. I go 1-4 on the game w/ that HR, and we win 11-6. 2-1 Arizona
game 4: We lose 4-1. I go 1-4 and strike out twice. 2-2, deciding game up next.
game 5: I get an infield hit in the 2nd, and score on a HR. I have a very good game, 2-3 with a double, 2 runs and a walk. We win 8-3 and advance!

I'm only hitting .263 in the postseason, I need to pick it up to get us to the series.

NLCS: Arizona vs Florida
game 1: i hit a 2 run HR in the first. We lose 13-3. Damn. I go 1-4. Florida 1-0
game 2: 1-3 with a walk and a run. We get a solid 7-2 win. tied 1-1
game 3: 1-3 with a RBI double in the 1st inning... but, we lose 4-2. Down 2-1
game 4: I lead off the 2nd with a bunt single and steal second. Smallball from cleanup! That's my only hit though and we lose 7-2. Down 3-1 and needing a miracle.
game 5: I go 2-4 with a run but we lose, 6-3. Season over.

Florida goes on to beat Oakland 4-2 to win the series.

My rookie card is at $950 as I click the button for next year. I've turned 34 and hope I can put up another season with 50 HRs before I go.

Looking for HR 600.

APRIL: I drive in 7 runs with 2 HRs on opening day against the Cubs. Noooo. On 4/15, I break my hand. I'm out 5 weeks. I'm on the DL and everything. I suffer signifigant ratings hits... contact 53/60, power 92/100, gap 94/100. I close April with a .234 average, 4 HR, 9 steals, 10 RBI/13 Runs.

MAY: I'm back from my injury on 5/18. i'm back in the lineup and hit a HR and get 2 hits my first game back. I finish off May with a .230 average, 9 HR/12 Steals, 20 RBIs/23 Runs.

JUNE: We lead the division by a game going into June. I've only got 1 HR on the month at 6/15... 10 on the year. I only hit 4 in all of June... I finish with a .224 average, 13 HRs/22 Steals, 32 RBIs/40 runs. I wonder if I acn get back to my 100 RBI/100 Run number this year. I haven't missed it since my first season.

July: I am, of course, not an all star this year. I get back on a pretty good HR pace, hitting 10 on the month. I finish July with a .234 average, 23 HRs/26 Steals, 56 RBIs/61 Runs... I need a ton of RBIs to get 100. We are 1st in the division by 1 game.

AUGUST: 7 hits over 3 games pushes my aerage up to .250... a 4-4 game soon after gets it up to .268! Do I still have something in the tank here? The average stabalizes around .255. I finish the month hitting .254, with 29 HRs and 36 Steals, my best SB numbers in years. I have 75 RBIs/77 Runs, I need a very good finish to the year to get my 100/100 numbers, and the key 40 HRs is probably out of reach but I've done 11 in a month before. I am at 606 now. 510 steals. 500/500!

SEPTEMBER: a 2 HR game and then a 4 RBI game keeps my goals in raeach... at 9/15 I have 84 RBIs/85 Runs.. With 4 games to go in the year at the end of September, I have 37 HRs, 94 RBIs, 98 Runs, and 42 Steals. I stink it up to end the year and end up with 95 RBIs/98 Runs. So close, and 5 weeks injured! We win the division though, so I go after another ring!

We host San Francisco, they're the wild card.

game 1: I break a scoreless tie in the 4th with a solo HR. My run holds up. We get 6 in the 8th just in case though... 7-0 win, 1-0 series. I go 1-4 w/ the HR.
game 2: I hit another HR but we are out of this one, 8-3 loss. 1-4 with the HR.
game 3: I go 0-4 with a walk, we win 6-4, up 2-1 in the series.
game 4: Series tied... I go 0-6, and we lose it in 13. I had my chances and blew them badly.
game 5: We lose 5-3 and I have failed this team horribly this playoffs... I go 0-3 in this game and wow that sucked!

Florida wins another world series over Anaheim.

My rookie card is over $1000 now! It's at $1088.40.

I've actually managed to knock 2203 hits in my career, despite not being a very good average hitter, I had not noticed how well I was doing there...

The ratings are down a bit, but I think mainly from injuries last year...

contact: 58(60)
POwer: 94(100)
Gap: 98(100)
Eye: 60(60)
Defense: 44
Speed: 69
Stealing:101
Lefties: 50

APRIL: The twilight years begin. My ratings are going to drop fast it appears. Power falls two points in April alone, ouch! I start reading a power
hitting book to try to offset. I do get 7 HRs on the month, so I'm still moving up the list... only hitting .231, with 7 HRs, 17 RBIs, 21 runs, and 2 steals.
Arizona is 13-13, just one game out of first.

MAY: 4 homers in the first week of May and I have 11 HRs on 5/10. Power is down to 89, holy crap its eroding fast. Hopefully it hits a plateau soon.
I get another 2 HR game and i have 13, 2nd in the league. Good to see I can still hit them consistantly. At the end of may I have 16 HRs, 37 RBIs, 40 runs,
and 7 steals, I'm only hitting .224. Arizona is 29-22, and leading the NL West by a game or two.

JUNE: i finish a power hitting book on 6/3, power back to 90 for now. My contact begins to erode, its down to 54. I'm still hitting them though, and
HR #20 comes on 6/21. As June ends Arizona is 44-35, 1 GB of the Giants in first. I am hitting .252, with 21 HRs, 57 RBIs, 57 runs, and only 8 steals.

July: I'm not an all star this year. The average just isn't high enough, despite the power numbers still being there. I keep blasting home runs, I
get #25 on 7/19. I finish the final powr hitting book(volume 10) to get a 6 point boost in the ratings... back to 92. At the end of July I am hitting .247,
with 28 HRs, 70 rBIs, 72 runs, and only 9 steals. Arizona is 58-45, still 1 game back in the NL West.

AUGUST: HR 30 comes on 8/3, 2 homers in the first 3 days of the month. I keep hitting them, I have 35 HRs on 8/10! This is a heck of a HR tear, I
could blast 10+ this month... I now lead the NL in homers with 37 on 8/20. That's where I finish the month but I'm still leading the NL. I have a .248 average,
with 37 HRs, 94 RBIs, 95 Runs, and 12 steals.

SEPTEMBER: We're in another tight fight for a playoff bid... on 9/6 I get my 40th HR of the year. I've topped both 100 rns and RBIs yet again also.
Arizona and LA are tied in mid month, the loser could be the wild card but its not a guarentee, Montreal is there too. On 9/24 I hit HR #46 on the year. I have
49 Hrs at the end of September with 4 games to go in the season. I hit #50 against the Cubs on October 2nd! We are tied with LA, but lose the playoff. We're tied
with the wild card team also, and we have to play them as well in a playoff.. winner is in. We play Florida. I bat cleanup. I get no hits but its ok. Florida
gets 0 runs... we win 3-0 and are playoff bound!

We beat Los Angeles in 4, no thanks to me.

We go to game 7 of the league championship series against Montreal. My only good game of the series, really, of the playoffs at all, came in game 6 when I hit a
2 run homer, and drew a bases loaded walk to help with our blowout.

game 7: I draw a walk in the first. In the 3rd its tied at 2, and i get a single, I score during the inning... I ground out in the 6th and when I come up in the
8th, we trail 6-4. I hit a solo home run to make it 6-5, and our hopes are still alive! In the top of the 9th, theman before me hits a solo shot with 2 outs to
tie the game. WHEW. Still alive. I come up with the chance to make some magic. Unfortunately, I strike out. I bat 3rd in the top of the 12th, it still tied at
6 starting the inning. I ground out to end another 3 up 3 down inning though. Im' going to get another chance.. in the 13th and 14th, Montreal leaves a man on
3rd base. We are hitless and I will come up 3rd in the top of the 15th. The first two men ground out and strike out, it up to me again... I double to left center!
Now, can someone drive me in... NOPE. On to the bottom of the 15th. Top of the 17th inning... Men on 1st and 2nd, two out. It's still 6-6. I step up to the plate,
another chance to be the hero. Ground out... that was out best chance. My next at bat.. it's the top of the TWENTIETH inning. I lead off. ground out... Top of the
21st!!! We get men on 2nd and 3rd and a single from our catcher drives them both home!! It's 8-6! We give up a run in the bottom of the inning but win it anyway. HOLY
COW.

That's the most amazing game I've ever seen...

And its on to the world series!!

We play the Seattle Mariners. So far I'm batting .234 with 2 HRs, 6 runs/6 RBIs in the postseason. 11-47 in 11 games.

Game 1: I go 1 for 3 with a walk. Unfortunately, my hit is the only hit of the game... we lose 6-1.
Game 2: 1-2 with 2 walks and 2 runs... again, we get blown out, 9-4.
Game 3: We lose again.. 4-3 in 10 innings. I'm just destined to go without a world championship it seems.
Game 4: I'm not letting us die so easy though. Traillign 5-2 in the top of the 8th, I hit a 3 run home run! tie game! We go on to win the agme in 10 innings!
Game 5: Needing to take 3 more in a row here, I get a double in the 2nd, but we can't score. I do nothing else but the team holds up fine, we win 3-2.
Game 6: I have a huge game! 2-4, HR/3 RBIs, a run and a walk, and we win to force a game 7!!!
Game 7: Looking to make history, we host the Mariners. seattle goes up 2-0 in the 2nd. I lead off the bottom of the second with a double, and I score a run. 2-1.
Seattle scores again in the 3rd, 3-1. When I come up in the bottom of the 3rd, the bases are loaded and there is one out, now is my chance to help make history.
AND I DO. 378 feet down the left field line and it's fair! GRAND SLAM HOME RUN! It's 5-3 Diamondbacks!! We go on to score 3 more runs, a big 7 run inning, and it's
8-3. Seattle gets a run in the 4th, and we fall apart, allowing 5 runs in the 6th and it's 9-8 Seattle. I come up in the bottom of the 6th with 2 outs. I strike
out. we make it up in the 7th! 12-9 Arizona! We hang on for the 12-10 win!

Arizona wins the world series! I go 2-5 with a grand slam and a double in the biggest game of my life!

I receive my world series ring!

I'm glad you finally got your Series ring. Nice job, but I fear the end is near...

nearer than you might think. I started the next season, and, well, I'm probably the highest paid AAA pinch hitter in history. It's frustrating, my ratings aren't that bad yet, IRL this would never happen, I would be traded before being sent down like this, or, surely i'd be picked up on waivers...

I meant to post sooner than this... my hard drive died, and this dynasty is done for. I really wanted to finish it out just to see what would happen, but it looked like my major league career was over unless I could get a trade or something else like that.

It is possible that I will try out another player when I get a new HD and get going again, but I have been more interested in trying FBCB again or in purchasing ESPN College Hoops so a new one immediately seems unlikely.
