You bring up some good points. I'm a little bit concerned about Morlaye's shoot first mentality, and I like his firepower off the bench but the redshirt year really has helped him develop his game. I'll give strong consideration to starting him very soon. Of course, if Guinn can get his academics in gear, he might be starting at PG soon instead.

We are 6-6 and we are hosting a talented 7-1 Oregon Team. They are favored over us.

Langhi gets the start today.

Oliver has our first 4 points as he is doing solid work inside.

Langhi with a few early turnovers and they get a quick 14-4 lead.

I brought Myron Rogers in with 7 minutes left and he started playing great defense and nailing 3's to close a huge gap before halftime.

After being down 20 at one point, we are down 11 at halftime.

Halftime score: 48-37 Oregon leads.

Matt Oliver is our top player of the 1st half. He has 7 points, 3 boards, 1 steal, and 1 assist. He is 5 of 6 from the line.

They dominated the start of the 2nd half and at one point turned their lead into a 25 point lead.

Game over. 82-67 win for Oregon.

We were outrebounded 34-26. They shot 55% while we shot 45% overall. That was the key to their victory.

Their SF Eli Nixon had 23 points and was the player of the game. He also had 3 assists, 7 boards, and a block.

I'm sorry to inform you coach that Damon Guinn actually had a worse GPA this past semester. He now has a 1.7 GPA and is ineligible for this year.

Even worse, I'm sorry to inform you that SF Rick Johnsen's GPA has dropped down to 1.8 and he is ineligible for the rest of the year.

Today we host Troy in the beginning of conference play.

Troy is 5-8 while we are 6-7. We are favored slightly in this game.

Alan Frazier moves into the starting lineup at SF with Johnsen's suspension. This will call for our freshman Chris Martin who is a smooth passer to get more PT at SF and SG.

Frazier shoots a 3 right away and misses.

Langhi throws the ball away on our next possession.

Frazier comes back to hit a big 3 and a 2 to gives us an early lead.

Defensively, we are overmatching Troy early.

Lionel Jackson comes on for the last 8 minutes of the first half, and the freshman PG is shooting lights out. Chris Martin is playing well at SF too.

Halftime: We are up 48-35.

Players of the Half: Lionel Jackson with 11 points in 8 minutes on 5 of 5 shooting. Alan Frazier with 12 points, 1 board, 1 steal on 5 of 7 shooting.

Good shooting in the 2nd half helped us open it 20 point lead by the 10 point mark.

Defensively, we played great in the 2nd half until the last 5 minutes when mostly backups played.

Game over. 85-53 win for us.

We outshot them 49.3% vs 35.5% (they were shooting 50% at the half.)

We forced 19 turnovers compared to 11 on our side.

We outrebounded them 44-34.

We shot 42.9% from behind the arc (9 of 21.) They shot 23% (6 of 26)

Those were the game keys.

Alan Frazier won the Player of the Game. He had 17 points (7 of 12 shooting, 3 of 6 behind the arc), 2 assists, 2 turnovers, 6 boards, and 1 steal.

Today we travel to play Arkansas-Little Rock. They are 6-8. We are 7-7. They are slightly favored.

Langhi gets one more start, but a short leash today.

They are pressing early! They are playing good defense and it is low scoring early. 7-7 after 6 minutes into the game.

Halftime: Their pressing is causing too many turnovers. Their defense is playing well, creating fastbreaks. They are up 38-29.

Matt Oliver, the big freshman center, is our leading player. 4 points, 3 boards, and 3 steals.

We were down 18 at one point. We closed to within 8 with 3 minutes left, but we could never get over the hump.

They just shot too well against us.

They hit their FT's down the stretch when I was intentionally fouling as well.

They won 85-71.

John Noyola, their C, had 16 points, 5 boards, 3 steals, and a block. He was the player of the game.

Not your fault I was thinking about doing it before you even mentioned it. If nothing else, it seemed to wake up Jackson for a game.
