Monster Bowl (limited interactive dynasty)

I've been apart of a bunch of interactive dynasties in the past and I have always had a blast. These dynasties have uesd FOF, TCY, OOTP, golf, nascar racing and the list goes on and on, but I've never seen anyone use Monster Bowl.

So without further ado here we go.

I just created a human team (Knights of Pain) and we have played 2 challenges already. I really didn't read the rules all that much before our first game and we ended up playing a team that has a lot more experience and they beat us down 1-8. We followed that up with a game against a team with the same experience and we won 2-0.

We have a league game today vs. Skeleton Team America.

I am going to create individual posts for all 12 members of my team including their stats from the first 2 games.

Pick your player and choose a name and number for him. Then follow along as we dismember, slaughter and destroy our opponents.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

FYI - My formation includes 1 Thrower, 3 Runners, 2 Defenders and 4 Blockers.

Blocker
The blocker is a simple player type. The blocker always tries to attack the opponent closest to him or his starting point.

Offensive Behavior
The blocker attacks opponents close to him or his starting position.

Defensive Behavior
The blocker attacks opponents close to him or his starting position.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Defender
Defenders are the players who watch your back. The goal of the defenders is to stop your opponent’s players to score touchdowns.

Offensive Behavior
When your team is on the offensive your defender will try to defend the player holding the ball. They will attack opponents that are trying to attack the ball holder.

Defensive Behavior
Unless lured away from their post or you have a large superiority in players on the field your defenders will stand and wait for an opponent trying to score a touchdown. When an enemy player comes into range, the defender will try to intercept the opponent.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Runner
The runners are the players who are always looking for a way to score a touchdown.

Offensive Behavior
The runner is always looking for a way to score a touchdown. He might wait for a weakness to form in the opponent’s defense or he might run into the other team’s part of the field to stir up trouble and creating an opening for his team.

Defensive Behavior
The runner tries to intercept the ball or the player holding it at any cost. The runner tries to avoid opponents in his way to the ball but if necessary he will try to go through them.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thrower
The thrower is the guy who stands back and tries to find a player with a good chance to score a touchdown.

Offensive Behavior
The thrower tries to keep out of trouble so that he is available to participate in the passing games.

Defensive Behavior
The thrower tries to stay at his starting position and will take part in the defense from there.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

STAT LEGEND
Role = The player's role during the game
TD = Touchdowns scored
BP = Ball possession
P = Passes
SP = Successful passes
BD = Beatdowns
BDB = Beatdowns of ball holder
I = Injuries inflicted on the other team
TOF = Time on field

That is the full squad.

Just post which player you want to be, what you want to name him and what number you want to have.

Game 1 recap will be up late tonight. It was a bloodbath. Did we survive? Did one of the FOFC stars shine?

Still looking for 8 more players.

Denver and KC haven't even dreamed of the 2 headed running attack that will be unleashed. Knock one of us down and the other is just going to pick it up and finish things anyways.

League Game 1

Home game vs. Skeleton Team America

1st Qtr
We start off with the ball and the brawls break out quickly. The ball is passed around a few times and it is finally controlled by Rob Nielsen on the left wing. He takes it down the field until he is met by opposition and neither team scores. Jacob Humberstone goes down with an injury.

2nd Qtr
STA controls the ball for almost the entire half, but we manage to injure 4 players during the quarter. Still no score.

3rd Qtr
Jace Hunter goes down with an injury in the middle of the quarter and we would have scored if we could have played an extra minute or so as we injured 2 more players.

4th Qtr
We have a 10-6 man advantage and it finally pays off as Jack Morris beats down their thrower and scores a TD in the 34th minute. In the 38th minute, Rob Neilsen picks up on a loose ball and scampers in for the score.

I'm going to move Mayes to a runner during our next challenge and play without a thrower to see if we can put some more pressure on the opposing team. Hopefully that can help us with time of possession. Humberstone is going to be benched since he seems a little too weak for our physical style of play and he will be replaced by Minkus who had an incredible 25 beatdowns in only 3 quarters of play.

I hope it works...so far my guy has done absolutely nothing on either side of the ball. BUT WE WON!!!!! Were undefeated!!

Do players die, or just get injured?

They just get injured, but mind you, a broken leg or arm can put you out nearly a month. However, you can visit the local healer to help out.

So last night's challange was against an orc team and they wore us down late in the game (2-5 defeat). I like the 3 runners, but I'm going to move Mayes back to Thrower and move Owen Hunter to runner and play with 2 defenders. I'll see how that tactic works in today's match.

Our next league game is in 2 days and we play the Skillin Skeletons.

We played an elf team today in our daily challenge ("friendly"). I really like how the new formation with 3 runners and 2 defenders worked. We ended the game in a 2-2 tie.

(R) Rob Nielsen - 1 TD

Defensive stars:
(D) Ragone - 21 Beatdowns
(B) AJ Tucker - 20 Beatdowns
(B) Jack Morris - 2 injuries inflicted

Today we played a human team, The Sharks, that is about a week older than us. We ended up losing 2-6 and our use of armor caused us to be slower and that seemed to be the difference in the match. On the brightside, we did have 54% ball possession.

Prior to the match, I had Smeaton and Wolfheart visit the healer and it cost me 110g to fix them up.

Offensive stars:
(R) Rob Nielsen - 2 TD's (the guy is a machine)
(T) Colton Mayes - 4/6 passing (67%)

Defensive stars:
(B) Scott Smeaton - 12 Beatdowns

Notes:
- Jack Morris bumped to lvl. 2 and he got 1 pt. strength and 1 pt. toughness.
- AJ Tucker has a sore thigh and it costs me 75g to heal him.
- The Blade Bombers want a piece of the Knights of Pain and we might have a showdown brewing.

Rob Nielson's first TD belonged to the other guy...rob just picked it up on the 1 and walked in...his second one was real nice though, good blocking on that play too.

They just got lucky with some outside runs and a few untimely ball drops...their #13 just had a great game and seemed to always be around the damn ball

Late in the game, the 6th TD literally as time expired was needless...our backup thrower after i went down ran 20 yards backwards into our endzone then dropped the ball...

League Game 2

Away game vs. Skillin Skeletons (1-0)

1st Qtr
The Skeletons start off with the ball and we create an injury early. Halfway through the quarter we injure another player and it leads to a TD for Owen Hunter!!!

2nd Qtr
Mayes starts off the quarter with a few long passes and then Rob Nielsen goes down with an injury. Mayes and Ragone play hot potato with the ball during the middle of the period. The score remains 1-0.

3rd Qtr
We start the quarter with a 10-9 man advantage and their thrower is flushed out by the Hunter boys. The Skeletons tie it on a long run by one of their defenders. The game is now tied.

4th Qtr
We are now at a 10-8 man advantage and we have the freight train play set up to move the ball down the field as the action restarts. Wolfheart is the man at the right moment and he picks up the ball for an easy score. With 3 minutes to go we have them outnumbered 8-3, but we are unable to add on any more scores.

Our daily challange today was against a skelton team, Undead Chaos. The game was a very exciting offensive battle. Neither team could stop the other. Undead Chaos came out with a 11 runner formation and it caused us trouble on defense up until the 4th quarter. On the other hand, Colton Mayes looked good out there as he hit Nielsen and J. Hunter for a couple of scores. We ended up winning 5-3.

Offensive stars:
(R) Jace Hunter - 3 TD's
(R) Rob Nielsen - 2 TD's

Defensive stars:
(B) Scott Smeaton - 15 Beatdowns
(B) Jack Morris - 14 Beatdowns

Last night's challenge was against an orc team, Hong Kong Cavaliers. It was a well played match, but our team made more big plays and our defense remained solid as we won the game 3-1.

Offensive stars:
(B) AJ Tucker - 1 TD
(R) Owen Hunter - 1 TD
(R) Jace Hunter - 1 TD

Defensive stars:
(T) Colton Mayes - TD saving beatdown. We were down 0-1 and Mayes stopped their player at the goal line to prevent us from going down 0-2.
(B) Scott Smeaton - 18 beatdowns
