Subj: Georgia Tech

They are currently 7th in the nation in the polls. They are 10-1. Their best player is PF Bruce Richards who has 14 ppg and 11.2 rpg as well as 2 bpg.

Georgia Tech runs a normal paced offense with some free lancing. They run a variety of sets, but most often use a shuffle offense.

Defensively, they rarely press. When they do press, they use a full court man to man defense. In half court, they primarily use M2M.

They are heavily favored at their own place.

Keys to the game for us:

Eddie Crawford and Myron Klein need to have the game of their lives.

Klein needs to contain Bruce Richards by himself, or their guards will kill us on kickouts.

We need to keep Richards off the glass. He can destroy us there.

On their first possession, Bruce Richards spun off Klein and drove the lane with great ease for a slam dunk.

5 minutes into the game, they are up 10-4 as Bruce Richards has already scored 7 points, pulled down 3 rebounds, had a block and forced Klein to pick up 2 fouls!

They are up 18-6 at the 10 minute mark as they are smothering our outside shooters.

The timeouts I've taken to calm the guys down haven't done any good.

We are down 30-10 with 5 minutes left in the first half.

They are destroying us inside with Alex Samnick their C and Bruce Richards their PF.

Ok, I'm ready for this one to be over. We are down 45-15 at the half.

Ryan Linton is our top player with 5 points, 7 rebounds, and 1 block.

Alex Samnick has 12 points on 4 of 9 shooting with 8 rebounds in the first half.

Finally, the misery is over. They beat us 92-32.

We only connected on 20.8% of our shots. We were 1 of 14 from 3 point range.

They hit 58% of their shots. They were 9 of 22 for 3 point range.

We had 16 turnovers. They had 5.

We actually hung with them on the boards as we had 39 boards to their 41.

Linton led the team with 7 points, and led the team with 9 boards.

Their PG was the player of the game. He had 13 points, 11 assists, 6 steals, and 1 board.

Richards, their PF, had 17 points on 7 of 8 shooting, he also had 7 boards and 4 blocks.

Re: Stetson

Today we travel to play Stetson. They are 5-4.

Their best player is PG Desmond Ross who leads the team with 7.1 ppg and 1.3 APG.

Stetson runs a 5 out offense like we do. They have some good outside shooters that need to be watched closely.

Defensively, they rarely press. They primarily play M2M defense.

We are favored despite being on the road. We need this win to help us climb back towards .500.

Our keys:

Feed the ball to Myron Klein, get him going early.

Force fouls by attacking the basket.

Take the crowd out of it early.

They have hung early with us and it is 9-9. However, we've been punishing them inside and their top two centers are out of the game with foul trouble.

I think Klein and Kinzer are upset with how they were abused last game.

That early work inside is paying dividends as the next 5 minutes we dominate inside to take a 22-12 lead before I start giving my starters some rest.

With 5 minutes left in the half, we are up 30-19 and playing our subs giving our starters a breather.

Our backups do well down the stretch of the 1st half and we are up 42-23 at halftime.

We are dominating the boards 22-12, and shooting lights out (55.6% compared to their 26%.)

C Devin Kinzer leads the team at the half with 9 points, 6 boards, 1 steal, and 3 of 4 FT shooting.

4 minutes into the 2nd half, Flowers fouled out of the game. I decided to go with him for as long as possible, because I feel we have this game if we don't start doing anything stupid.

52-36 with 15 minutes to go in the game. Crawford is starting to light it up from outside.

64-42 with 10 minutes to go as Crawford has put up 7 more points in the last 5 minutes.

I put most of my subs in with 9 minutes left.

77-55 lead with 5 minutes left in the game.

We won the game 88-65.

We shot 55.4% overall and 54.5% (6-11) from 3 point land.

They shot 41.8% overall and 45% (9-20) from 3 point land.

We each had 14 turnovers.

We had 40 rebounds. They had 24 rebounds.

At one point we had a 29 point lead.

Crawford led the team with 16 points in 31 minutes on 6 of 11 shooting.

Klein had 13 points on 6 of 8 shooting in 27 minutes.

Kinzer led the team with 12 boards (and 9 points) in 24 minutes.

Several players led the team with 2 assists including Flowers.

Johnsen led the team with 2 steals.

Guinn had our only block of the game.

Crawford was the player of the game and was named the Sun Belt Player of the Week.

This is the second time this year that he has been named Sun Belt Player of the Week.

Subj: Academic Suspensions

I'm sorry to inform you that Alan Frazier (SF) and Rick Johnsen (SF) have both failed to maintain a 2.0 GPA. Therefore, I've had no choice but to declare them academically ineligible for the rest of the season. Players can regain eligibility at the start of next season.

From: Terry Bordeaux

To: Chris Richard

Subj: Re: Academic Suspensions

I understand that you couldn't do anything about this, but this seriously hampers our chances for success this year as we are now very thin at the SF position and will have to thin our depth and we will have to play some small ball.

From: Terry Bordeaux

To: Coaching Staff

Re: Academic Suspensions

We've lost two of our key guys at SF. Please work extra hard with SF Bobby Jones to try to get him into game shape and be able to contribute as a starter or at least off the bench.

We travel to play them in 2 days. They are currently 3-8.

They run a fast attacking offense that uses the triangle and lots of fast breaks. Their leading player is their PG Darius Totn who is averaging 8.8 ppg, 4.7 apg, and 3.9 bpg, as well as 1.1 spg.

Defensively, they rarely press. They tend to run about 60% M2M and 40% zone defense.

We are slightly favored despite being on the road.

Keys to Victory:

Run the floor well when we get steals.

Pressure their skilled outside shooters, always get a hand in their face.

Don't foul them too much. When they win, they are getting to the foul line more than their opponent.

From: Vashon Beshara

To: Terry Bordeaux

Subj: Bobby Jones

Bobby isn't going to be ready to be a regular contributor any time soon. I suggest we start PG Flowers, SG Crawford, PF Klein at SF, Linton at PF, and Kinzer at C. This will leave Fingelton as our main choice as the backup PF and C. Gelbard will be playing as the primary backup at SG and SF with Bobby Jones rotating in at SF as well.

You're further along in the game than I am and it's really interesting at how good the game sounds.

Is the 2D view as immersive for you as it is for me? I love watching my little squards move along the screen. If BBCF can evolve into a 2D view like this, I'll be in heaven.

Darn. Klein was fouled hard in the first minute and had to leave the game due to an injury.

I decide to put Bobby Jones in at SF.

Kinzer gets into early foul trouble compounding my depth concerns.

I have to leave Kinzer in despite 2 early fouls.

We are down 7-3 after 5 minutes as none of our shots are falling.

We are down 20-8 after 10 minutes. Bobby Jones looks lost out there..

Even worse, he is shooting a lot and is 0 for 5.

27-15 with 5 minutes left as Damon is starting to score some points for us.

We are down 39-23 at halftime. Those suspensions are really going to hurt us.

Klein is recovered from his injury and I bring him back in at SF.

We close the gap a bit and it is 46-33 with 15 minutes left.

Klein's injury is hurting him now, and I'm going to have to take him out.

We manged to close to within 10 at the 10 minute mark with a score of 56-46.

End of game: SF 73 - UNO 62. We just don't play well on the road.

We only shot 38% from the field. We shot 23% from 3 point range (3 of 13.)

They shot 48% from the field and 30.8% (4-13) from 3 point range.

Flowers and Gelbard each had 15 points.

Flowers led the team with 2 assists.

Linton led the team with 9 rebounds.

Linton led the team with 2 steals and 2 blocks as well.

Ryan Emery, their 6'7 Guard was player of the game. He scored 11 points on 4 of 5 shooting, had 2 assists, 6 boards, and 3 steals.

Yes, the 2D has me screaming at my stupid players who can't make a good pass or a wide open shot on the road. Of course, we play much better at home. Either way, the 2D is very immersive for me. I'd also love to see BBCF develop some sort of 2D like this.

By the way, I'm holding off my BBCF dynasty until after the next patch. That is the only reason I haven't updated that recently.

Subj: Oral Roberts

On the 29th, we play at Oral Roberts. We are both 5-7.

Oral Roberts is a good team that runs a high post offense. C Jason Purnell is their best player. He is averaging 7 ppg, 3.8 rpg, and 1.0 apg as well as 0.7 bpg.

Defensively, they rarely pressure. They run a predominantly M2M defense.

They are favorites at home.

We have size on them at every position.

Keys for the game:

Force turnovers. They give up 12.3 per game. We need to force at least 15.

We have to work very hard on the defensive end without ever slacking up.

Ryan Linton needs to have a big game tonight on the boards.

We steal the ball, but miss a breakaway to start the game. That turns into a 5-0 start for them.

Turnovers are killing us early as we are down 11-1 after 5 minutes.

Urge to kill team.... RISING.

We continue to travel MUCH too frequently.

At the 13:40 mark, I put in the entire second team as we are down 16-1.

We are down 24-3 at the 10 minute mark. I can't even watch this anymore. This is unbelievable how bad we are playing.

We are down 53-26 at the half.

This was our worst game of the year. We lost 101-63. No defense from our guys, poor offense. Too many turnovers (23 this game.)

We allowed them to shot over 60%!

I'm disgusted with my team again.

Dan Riddle, their SF, scored 35 points on 12 of 17 shooting (6-10 from 3 pt land.) He also had 2 assists, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals.

Subj: North Texas

Conference play begins! We start on the road against a skilled North Texas team. They are 7-6 so far this year.

Their best player is PF Keith Smith. He is averaging 9.5 ppg and 5.8 rpg as well as 0.5 bpg.

Offensively, they run a 5 out offense and primarily shoot from the outside.

Defensively, they rarely press. They run M2M about 65% of the time and mix in a few zones.

Given our abysmal road play, they are favored.

Myron Klein is still injured and will only be able to play in limited action due to his bruised triceps.

Our keys to victory:

Set Eddie Crawford up for easy baskets. We need to get him going early.

Keep Keith Smith off the boards.

Make some inside baskets to keep them honest.

A bad start as we miss our first three shots, and give up a basket plus the foul and another basket to go down 5-0.

We take a 9-7 lead as the 15 minute mark approaches.

We are getting a good number of offensive boards from Kinzer early.

As the 10 minute mark approaches, Kinzer picks up his 3rd foul and I have no choice but to sub him. He has been key for us early. We are down 16-15.

We've had to use Bobby Jones, Myron Rogers, and Ricky Curtis for the last few minutes. They have been almost ineffective, and we are now down 34-27.

I bring Kinzer in and he promptly picks up his 4th foul.

Halftime: We are down 46-30.

Our depth is just not good enough with Klein injured and our two SF's suspended.

Crawford is our top player for the half with 5 points and 6 boards.

I can barely stand to watch as we fall deeper into a hole in the 2nd half. We end up losing 86-60.

They shot over 52%. We only shot 35% overall and 30.8% from 3 point range.

Crawford led the team with 10 points on 4 of 12 shooting in 31 minutes.

Flowers led the team with 3 assists, but he had 4 turnovers.

Fingelton led the team with 8 boards.

Fingelton led the team with 1 steal and 1 block.

Subj: Arkansas State

Today we host Arkansas State in our Conference home opener.

They have the best player in the conference (he has won the player of the week award almost every week) in SG Jarrad Young. Jarrad is averaging over 14.5 ppg and 4.2 rpg as well as 1.1 spg. The 6'5 208 pound SG is only a freshman and he will torture us for years.

SF Sean Shumpert is a worthy running mate who has averaged over 10 ppg, 2 apg, and 3.8 rpg.

Finally, C Mike Goodwin is a dangerous player who uses his size wekk. He is averaging 7.8 ppg and 6.6 rpg.

They run a 5 out offense primarily. Defensively, they press occasionally. They play primarily M2M in the half court.

Due to Klein's injury, they are favored to win.

Game Keys:

We must win the turnover battle.

We have to attack the basket and force some fouls on them.

We must take smart 3's and hit a high percentage.

We get a stop on their first possession, and hit a quick basket by Crawford to take a 2-0 lead.

Kinzer with a block and Crawford with another basket to take a quick 4-0 lead!

At the 15 minute mark, we are up 6-5.

At the 10 minute mark, we are down 12-11.

Thanks to some fancy shooting by Damon, we are up 23-20 with 5 minutes to go in the half.

They hit a big 3 pointer as time is running out to take a 32-29 lead at the half.

Crawford is our leading scorer with 11 points, 1 board, and 1 assist. He is 5 of 7 from the field. Damon Guinn is our other big scorer.

39-39 as we approach the 15 minute mark.

We are having to double team Jarrad Young because he is starting to hit too many shots.

As the 10 minute mark approached, we are up 48-43 in large part due to a 3 by Linton followed by a close basket.

56-56 with 5 minutes left in the game. I've been resting a few of my starters for the last few minutes for the stretch run.

Damon Guinn with a deep 3 to give us a 59-56 lead.

We get a stop and Ricky Curtis draws a foul down on the other end with a strong post move.

Curtis hits both FT's and we lead 61-56 with 4 minutes left.

We get a stop, but they steal it and get a fast break to make it 61-58.

They stop us and then Young comes down and hits a 3 to tie it up.

They take a 63-61 lead with 2 minutes left.

We exchange baskets to make it 65-63, but they stop us the next possession.

We foul them and Shumpert only hits 1 to make it 66-63 with 1 minute left.

Linton misses a 3, but we make a stop.

Linton shoots another shot, that he misses.

We intentionally foul. They miss both FT's.

We miss another 3. Game over.

A very disappointing 66-63 loss at home. I think this is looking like it will be a long season.

They shot 40.6% from the field and 35% (7-20) from 3 point range.

We shot 39.7% from teh field and 21.7% (5-23) from 3 point range.

We did well in only giving up 10 turnovers while forcing 12.

They outrebounded us 44-37.

Damon Guinn led the team with 14 points on 5 of 8 shooting in 18 minutes.

Crawford had 13 points.

Flowers led the team with 6 assists in 34 minutes. He only had 3 turnovers.

Gelbard led the team with 9 rebounds.

Kinzer led the team with 1 steal and 1 block.

Coach, we are traveling to face them next, and this is a game we must win. They are 1-14 and aren't playing well at all. Their leading player is C Steve Mascoe who is averaging 9.9 ppg and 5.5 RPG as well as 1.1 BPG. They run a princeton style offense and really slow things down.

Defensively, they rarely press. They usually run M2M but mix in a decent amount of a 3-2 zone as well.

We are favorites to win this game.

Unfortunately, Myron Klein is not quite healed from his injury yet.

Game keys:

Take their crowd out of it early.

Don't turnover the ball.

Take away Steve Mascoe and force them to shoot long jumpers. You might consider using the 2-3 zone more this game.

Mascoe has a quick 4 points and draws a quick foul on Kinzer and I decide we have to start double teaming him.

11-7 after 5 minutes as Mascoe already has 8 points on 4 of 4 shooting. He is pushing Kinzer around at will.

Double teaming him is finally working, as we forced Moscoe to throw 2 bad passes, one of which led to a fast break jam for us.

We are up 14-13 with 10 minutes left in the half. Crawford is only 1 of 7, if he can heat up, I think we can win this going away.

We've been trading 3's as both teams are shooting very well from outside. They are up 29-28 with 5 minutes left in the half.

Jermaine Waldman, their SF, has drained 4 3's in a row before he finally misses one. They are 8-13 from 3 point land with 40 seconds left in the half.

Fortunately, we are 5 of 9 from 3 point land ourselves.

Halftime: 42-38, they lead.

Our top player is Devin Kinzer who has 6 points and 7 boards while playing some decent defense on Moscoe.

Their top player is Jermaine Waldman who has 12 points on 4 of 5 shooting (all from 3 point range.) He also has 2 boards and 1 assist.

Waldman has cooled off, but they maintain a 4 point lead due to making some inside shots. 49-45 with 15 minutes left.

The game is slipping away. We are down 59-48 with 10 minutes left. They are working us inside even though we are stopping Moscoe. None of our guards are shooting well. Flowers is 1 for 6. Crawford is 2 for 13. Guinn is 2 of 6.

We are throwing the game away as we've made 5 turnovers in the last 5 minutes. They are up 68-53.

We ended up losing 86-59. I hope I don't end up getting fired before my 3 year contract expires. I need to get some guys in here who can play defense unlike the guys I have now.

We allowed them to shoot 50.7% from the field. They shot 50% (13 of 26) from 3 point land.

We shot 40.4% from the field and 43.8% (7 of 16) from the field.

We turned it over 19 times to their 9.

I can't wait til Lionel gets here. Hopefully, he actually knows how to take care of the ball like my staff thinks he can.

Steve Mascoe was player of the game. He had 16 points, 2 assists, 9 boards, and did it on 7 of 13 shooting.

Today we host a very good Troy team that is currently 9-8. They run a traingle offense that centers around the talented Devon Robinson who is averaging 10.2 ppg, 2.1 apg, and 7.2 rpg. Their guards are dangerous from behind the arc, and we need to make sure we do a better job of covering the outside jumper.

Defensively, they rarely press. They primarily use a 1-2-2 zone and almost never use M2M defense.

They are favored to win.

We do have Klein back finally.

Keys:

We must stop Adam Nicholson's penetration.

We must stop their inside scoring.

We can settle for just jumpers, we need to get to the foul line.

Their Zone defense is confusing us, and we are down 9-4 after 5 minutes of the game.

Ryan Linton is getting steal after steal. Unfortunately, their zone is confounding our shooters. We are down 11-8 with 10 minutes to go in the 1st half.

22-14 with 5 minutes left in the half. They are dominating on the boards to stretch their lead.

Klein starts dominating to close the gap. We end the half down by 1, 26-25.

Cassidy Williams, their SF, leads their team with 10 points on 4 of 8 shooting. He also has 1 board and 2 steals.

Myron Klein has 8 points on 4 of 5 shooting. He has 2 rebounds and 1 steal as well.

32-32 with 15 minutes left. Klein and Gelbard are our main scorers right now.

Flowers picks up his 4th foul with 14 minutes left which really hurts our depth.

We get sloppy with the ball as both teams are pushing the pace and before I know it we are down 47-41 with 10 minutes left.

Guinn has hit a 3, 4 FT's and stolen the ball in the last 5 minutes to close the gap to 52-50 with 5 minutes left.

Guinn hits a 3 with 2 minutes left to give us a 59-57 lead! He is tired, but he is on fire. I'm leaving him in.

A few seconds later, Klein steals the ball and runs the length of the court to dunk it! 61-57 with 1:44 left.

He is fouled on the play as well. He hits the FT to make it a 5 point lead. Our crowd is going wild.

Kinzer with a block, and Flowers draws a foul at the other end of the court.

Flowers hits both FT's to make it 64-57 with 58 seconds left!

Guinn steals the ball and lobs it to Flowers who lays it in for a 66-57 lead!

Kinzer draws a foul inside and hits both FT's. 68-57 with only 11 seconds left

They hit a meaningless 3 as time runs out.

Game over. 68-60 win for us

They shot 47.3% from the field, but 23.1% from behind the arc (3-13)

We shot 37.5% from the field, but 33.3% behind the arc (4-12)

The key was we caused 24 turnovers while only giving up 13 turnovers.

We had 21 Fast Break Points.

Guinn led the team with 15 points on 4 of 9 shooting in 24 minutes.

Klein had 13 points on 6 of 8 shooting in 34 minutes.

Klein led the team with 9 boards.

Flowers led the team with 5 assists, but also had 5 turnovers.

Linton led the team with 5 steals.

Kinzer and Fingelton each had 1 block.

Myron Kelin was the Player of the Game. In 34 minutes, he had 13 points, 9 boards, and 2 steals.

We are now 4-2 at home. This gives me some hope that we will meet the team goals of not finishing last in the conference and (more difficult to reach) having a .500 record or better at the end of the season.

Hopefully, we can keep Klein healthy as I think without our 2 SF's he is absolutely critical to our success.

Today we trave to play this 5-11 team. They rely heavily on star PG Zack Wells who is averaging 12.7 ppg, 5.4 apg, 3.0 rpg, and 0.5 spg. They like to run the floor and will run a few different formations.

Defensively, they rarely press. They primarily play M2M defense.

They are favored due to our terrible road record.

Our Keys:

We must cut down on our turnovers. We are averaging 15.2 per game.

Stop their PG's penetration.

Keep Brody Whaley off the boards. He uses his body very well to get good rebounding position.

15 minute mark: Kinzer outweighs his defender by 50 pounds and he has 6 quick points, but their PG is penetrating at will and their quicker C is scoring easily. They are up 11-10 so far.

10 minute mark: Klein and Gelbard are our main scorers in the last 5 minutes. It's tied 20-20.

5 minute mark: Both defenses have been playing well. Linton has been very good on the boards. It's tied 25-25.

Halftime: Down the stretch, Linton and Gelbard hit a few shots. We are up 37-31 at the half. Can we get a rare road win?

The key so far is that we have outrebounded them 30-19.

Klein is our top player so far. He has 6 points, 7 boards, 1 block, 1 steal, and 1 assist.

2nd half: Kinzer draws two quick fouls on their quick center, and they have to sub out their leading scorer.

15 minute mark: Klein has a steal with a nice outlet pass to Guinn who lays it in as our big play of this stretch. We are up 47-42.

10 minute mark: Klein has a nice steal and outlet pass to Linton who slams it home. However, the refs are calling too many travels on us which are stopping us from getting a bigger lead. 56-50 lead for us.

Gelbard has been a revelation this game. I realize he really can score in more ways than our coaches give him credit for. He also is a capable rebounder. They are right that he is a horrible defender, but so are most of my guys.

5 minute mark: We've made a few bad turnovers and they've closed the gap. We lead 60-57.

They press and get 2 quick baskets after we had scored twice. It is now 64-63 our lead.

They take a 67-66 lead with 1:08 left.

Guinn misses the shot. Fingelton fouls their PF on the other end.

They hit both FT's to take a 3 point lead.

Gelbard misses the 3. We intentionally foul.

They hit both FT's.

Gelbard throws it away trying to find Guinn with the pass.

Game over. 73-66 loss. We let that one slip away.

We shot 35.4% from the field and 25% from 3 point range (4-16)

They shot 43.9% and 15.4% (2-13)

We outrebounded them 47-38.

We turned it over 16 times, they only turned it over 12 times.

Flowers led our team with 18 points on 6 of 10 shooting in 31 minutes.

Gelbard was second on the team with 14 points on 5 of 10 shooting.

Guin has 11 points on 5 of 12 shooting.

Klein led the team with 4 assists.

Klein led the team with 11 boards.

Klein led the team with 4 steals.

Klein and Kinzer each had 1 block.

SG Duez Hayes was Player of the Game with 18 points on 8 of 17 shooting. He also had 6 boards, 1 assist, and 1 block.

Today we host them. They are currently 8-11.

Their best player is PG Tyson Robinson who is averaging 8.8 ppg, 5.0 apg, 2.2 rpg, and 0.6 spg.

They generally play a very restrictive offense that operates out of a 5 out set.

Defensively, they press quite a bit and use a full court M2M press when they do so. They primarily use M2M defense in the half court.

With our good home record, we are favored slightly.

Our Keys:

Get Myron Klein going early, he needs to have a big game for us.

Ryan Linton needs to be strong on the glass.

Take care of the ball, we are averaging 15.3 turnovers, much too many.

15 minute mark: Crawford is having a hot start, but we are down 11-9. Crawford has scored 7 of our first 9 points.

10 minute mark: They are beating us up inside. 20-15. Crawford is our offense with 11 points.

5 minute mark: Balanced attack has them pulling away from us. 34-25 and it was a 12 point lead at one point.

Some excellent defense, decent rebounding, and a flurry of points from Gelbard close the gap.

Halftime: 42-40, Arkansas-Little Rock leads.

We've only taken 5 3 pointers. We've mad 2 of them. They are 5 of 8 from behind the arc. Both teams aren't turning it over much. We are winning the battle of the boards 24-19.

Kenny Gelbard, the freshman, is our leading scorer with 13 points, 4 boards, 1 assist on 4 of 9 shooting.

I mix things up by coming out with Guinn at PG and Gelbard at SF with Klein playing PF in the 2nd half.

We are using our 2-3 zone to great effect to start the 2nd half. I've been really drilling this zone the last few weeks. I'm also having guys starting to learn a 3-2 zone. I hope to be primarily a zone defense team next year as we don't have many good M2M defenders at all.

15 minute mark: Having our 3 best offensive guards out there is working well as they are creating space. Guinn is finally able to run the offense. To punctuate a nice stretch, Kinzer steals the ball and throws it ahead to Klein who slams it home. We are up 55-49.

10 minute mark: Gelbard cools off and they start hitting some long range shots against our 2-3 zone. 62-62.

5 minute mark: Tyson Robinson has been unbelievable from 3 point land. He is a big reason they are up 80-73.

Linton with a huge slam and the foul to bring us within 2. It's 80-78 with 3:43 left.

Josh Saunders hits another 3 for them. He has hit 3 in the second half. It's 83-78.

Klein charges annd that gives them the ball back with 3:16 to go.

We press, but they break it, and get an easy basket.

Linton misses a 3.

They hit another basket, and we are now down 87-78 with 1:58 to go.

Klein earns 2 FT's and hits them both. 87-80.

We trap and they break that. But, we force a miss. Guinn runs down the floor, spins into the lane, and hits a floater. 87-82 with 1:17 left.

We trap, they break it, move the ball well, and get a dunk. 89-82.

Guinn misses a 3. 44 seconds left, and we have to foul.

They hit both of their FT's. We turn it over. Might as well be a ball game.

Game over. 94-82 loss. No way are we going to finish .500. We might not even finish .333. I just hope we can avoid last place in the conference.

They shot 45.5% from the field, and 52.4% from 3 PT range (11 of 21 shooting)

We shot 45.6% from teh field and 50% from behind the arc (5 of 10)

We turned it over 12 times. They only turned it over 5 times.

Crawford led the team with 21 points on 7 of 13 shooting in 33 minutes.

Gelbard was 2nd with 20 points on 7 of 15 shooting in 29 minutes.

Flowers led the team with 4 assists and he only had 1 turnover.

Klein led the team with 10 boards.

Kinzer led the team with 1 steal and 2 blocks.

They run a shuffle offense that focuses on getting the ball inside. I suggest we use more of our 2-3 zone this game to counter that.

Defensively, they usually play M2M and rarely press.

Their best player is PF Mark Byams who is averaging 7.9 ppg, 1.3 apg, 5.0 rpg, 0.6 spg, and 0.5 bpg.

They are favored at home.

Game Keys:

We must take good shots, we can't afford to miss too many against their big guys.

Eddie Crawford needs to create shots for everyone as well as score.

Take the crowd out of the game early.

15 minute mark: So far, we have had a VERY good start as I've been relying on our 2-3 defense mixed with a bit of 1-3-1 zone defense and a smattering of M2M. Offensively, Crawford and Flowers are filling it up. We are up 13-6.

We didn't have our first turnover til the 11:52 mark.

10 minute mark: So far, we are playing our best game of basketball. Offense, defense, it's all there. 25-11. However, Flowers just picked up his 3rd foul. Guinn will come in.

5 minute mark: Why can't we play every game like this? We are doing everything right. 35-11.

One change I made this game is to give the guys just a little bit more offensive freedom. The guys seem to be loving it.

Our 2nd turnover occurs with 4:20 left in the half.

Halftime: 46-23 lead. We gave up a good spurt of points with our backups in. Therefore, my starters will play deep into the 2nd half. We won't let this one get away from us.

We are shooting 52.6% from the field and 2 of 6 from behind the arc.

We are holding them to 27% from the field (and that went up quite a bit in the last 5 minutes) They are also 2 of 6 from behind the arc.

Eddie Crawford is our top player. He has scored 14 points on 7 of 9 shooting. He also has 1 board, 1 steal, and 1 assist.

We start off the second half with a basket, a steal, and a fastbreak on which are fouled and convert the 3 pt play.

15 minute mark: An amazing start to the 2nd half. We are shooting well, defending well, stealing it, converting fast breaks. They are scoreless in the 2nd half. It is 64-23 as we are dominating moreso than I've ever seen from this team.

10 minute mark: We've been a bit sloppy the last few minutes, but we are still up 74-32. Guinn has just fouled out so Flowers will have to play down the end. However, in just another minute or two, I will bring in all of my end of the bench players.

5 minute mark: Our backups are at least doing a good job of scoring still. 85-43 lead for us

What a great feeling!

Game over. 96-51 win on the road

We won the turnover battle 15-8 (most of ours came with our backups in during the last 7 minutes.)

We outrebounded them 49-26.

We shot 53.7% from the field and 3 of 9 from behind the arc.

We had 22 Fast Break Points.

They shot 29.1% from the field. 4-18 (22.2%) from 3 point land.

Crawford led the team with 25 points on 11 of 17 shooting in 28 minutes.

Gelbard had 15 points on 5 of 7 shooting in 24 minutes.

Kinzer had 10 points on 4 of 7 shooting in 23 minutes.

Klein, Guinn, and Flowers all had 9 points.

Linton led the team with 3 assists.

Kinzer led the team with 16 boards!

Linton led the team with 2 steals.

Linton led the team with 2 blocks.

Eddie Crawford was the player of the game. Besides his 25 points, he had 2 assists, 2 steals, and 1 rebound.

We'll miss him next year. I hope we can build on this success and climb up the standings. Speaking of which, let's take a look at the standings.

Re: Western Kentucky

They are a 6-14 team that is coming to face us today.

Their best player is SF Harold Miner who is averaging 7.5 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 1.5 apg, 0.7 spg, and 0.5 bpg. They run a normal paced offense that is balanced and runs primarily out of the 5 out set.

Defesively, they rarely press. They are using more M2M as the season progresses.

Despite our big win last game, they are favored in this game.

They have a huge advantage of size, particularly at their guard positions.

Game Keys:

Make some fast breaks happen.

Stop Jason Brown, he is their primary playmaker.

Get the ball to Crawford and let him make things happen.

15 minute mark: We miss our first 4 shots, and they are using their size to shoot over the defense, but we are only down 10-5.

10 minute mark: They are killing us with 3's. So, I tell my Assistant to stop calling anything but 3-2 defense for a bit and it does cool them off. We close the lead. 19-18.

5 minute mark: Maybe I should have taken over the defensive play calling earlier this season. Despite only practicing the 3-2 for a few weeks, we are running it well. It's completely confusing them, and we are cooling off their red hot outside shooters. We've had several fastbreak baskets off steals and it is now 34-25 our lead!

Halftime: 42-33 lead. They are starting to figure out the zone, but we are least stopping their 3 point shots.

We are shooting 48.5% from the field and 3 of 8 from behind the arc.

They are shooting 42.9% from the field and 5 of 13 from 3 point range (They were 5 of 7 before I switched to the 3-2 defense.)

We are outrebounding them 19-16. We have caused 9 turnovers. We've only given up 5 turnovers.

Ryan Linton is our top performer. He has 7 points on 3 of 7 shooting. He also has 4 boards, 1 block, 2 steals, and 2 assists.

15 minute mark: They started out with a little mini-run, but Crawford hit a 3 and shifted momentum back our way. 51-40.

Linton and Klein with their long arms are thriving in this zone. We are frustrating their guards and forcing them to pass inside and picking them off.

Eddie Crawford is feeling it and hits 2 3's in a row.

10 minute mark: We've totally taken control! The home crowd is going crazy! 73-48.

6:54 mark: I feel good about bringing in my deep end of the bench. We are up 81-51.

5 minute mark: 85-51. Bobby Jones isn't too skilled, but he is 6'9 and his arm span is creating havok in the zone as well

I have to give the credit to my assistant who isn't good at much besides teaching defense. He is very good at that, and he really has taught these guys to play a skilled 3-2 defense in just over 6 weeeks.

Game over! I can't believe it. 2 blow out wins in a row! I'm in love with our new 3-2 defense. I'm going to make this the team's focus, particularly once we have the two big men in the middle next year.

97-54 win for us

We caused 21 turnovers. We only gave up 10. We outrebounded them 41-26.

We shot 57% from the field (7-13 from 3 point range)

They shot 36.5% (6-24 from 3 point range after starting 5 of 7 before I started the 3-2 zone.)

We had 28 Fast Break Points.

Crawford led the team with 20 points on 7 of 12 shooting in 30 minutes.

Gelbard had 18 points on 8 of 9 shooting in 21 minutes.

Fingelton had 13 points on 4 of 11 shooting in 17 minutes.

Klein had 10 points on 4 of 8 shooting in 29 minutes.

Flowers led the team with 5 assists. He only had 2 turnovers.

Kinzer led the team with 7 boards.

Kinzer led the team with 4 steals.

Kinzer and Linton each had a block.

Wow. What a great feeling to see this team start to turn it around.

Today, we travel to face this 10-11 team.

They run a balanced offense with a great deal of motion.

Their best player is C Mark Howell who is averaging 11.2 ppg, 7.2 rpg, 1.2 apg, 1.5 spg, and 0.9 bpg.

Defensively, they press a fair bit. They use a 1-2-1-1 press when they do so. They run mostly M2M in their halfcourt defense.

They are favored at their place despite our last 2 big wins.

They have height on us at the 2 guard positions.

Keys:

Slow down their offense which is averaging 80.6 ppg.

Push the ball up the floor, they don't transition well on defense.

Keep Mark Howell off the boards.

I controlling all of our defensive calls tonight, and I'm starting us out in a 2-3 zone to try to help against their powerful C.

They score 5 points (as do we), but Kinzer manages to draw 2 quick fouls on Howell! Now, I switch to our 3-2 as their main inside threat is gone.

For the next 2 minutes after switching to the 3-2, we don't allow a point.

15 minute mark: 10-5 as Crawford has 5 points and has drawn 2 fouls on their starting SG!

10 minute mark: Their PF is doing well against our 3-2, but we are frustrating their guards. 18-13 lead for us. Their PF has 9 points.

5 minute mark: They are hitting a few 3's despite the zone defennse. 28-26 we lead.

Halftime: 38-35 lead for them. We are hanging tough with this good team.

They are shooting 55.2% from the field. 5 of 7 from 3 point range.

We are shooting 41.2% and 1 of 4 from 3 point land.

However, the key is we are winning the turnover battle 13 to 6.

Crawford is our leading scorer with 9 points on 3 of 7 shooting. He also has 3 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 assist.

Klein picks up a few quick fouls to start the 2nd half and I have to sit him with 18 minutes to go.

We have about 6 missed FG's as we keep getting off rebounds, but can't convert the putbacks.

15 minute mark: 46-39 as our shooting is icy cold now.

We get a few steals from Guinn, a few fast breaks, and suddenly with 12 minutes left it is 52-52. Guinn also had a key 3 during that run.

10 minute mark: Linton has hit a 3 and a 2 in place of Klein, and he has helped propel us to a 59-54 lead.

Joel Dixon is having a big game against us from his PF spot, but we are mostly shutting down their guards and SF.

They've been pressing all game, but we finally beat the press so effectively that Guinn lobs it to Crawford for a Alley-oop dunk! 63-54.

A bit later, we again break their press leading to a dunk by Fingelton.

5 minute mark: We lead 69-61.

2 minute mark: 78-67, my backups are playing so well during a breather that I'm leaving them in and they are thriving. Particularly, Myron Rogers who has hit 2 big shots.

Flowers drills a meaningless 3 as time expires to make it an 86-72 win for us!

We've won 3 in a row!

We forced them into 23 turnovers. We only had 9 turnovers.

We shot 45.8% from the field and 28.6 from behind the arc (4-14 shooting)

They shot 50% from the field and 42.9% from behind the arc (6-14)

If it wasn't for the turnovers, they would have won. We had 26 fast break points.

Klein led the team with 16 points on 7 of 9 shooting in 23 minutes.

Crawford had 15 points on 6 of 14 shooting in 29 minutes.

Flowers had 11 points on 3 of 3 shooting in 23 minutes.

Flowers led the team with 5 assists and only 2 turnovers.

Kinzer led the team with 12 boards.

Kinzer also led the team with 5 steals.

Linton led the team with 3 blocks.

We gave up 21 points to their PF Joel Dixon and 6 points to Howell, but it was worth it to stifle their guards.

Devin Kinzer won player of the game. He had 9 points, 5 assists, and 12 boards.

Can we keep the win streak going?

Subj: Denver

They have been one of the best teams in the conference this year. They are currently 15-7.

They run most of their plays out of the flex set. This suits their best player well.

PG Kevin Grady can do it all. He is a capable outside shooter, he can penetrate, he can pass. He is averaging 13.1 ppg, 4.3 apg, 5.1 rpg, 0.8spg, and 1.1 bpg.

Defensively, they primarily run a 2-3 zone which should be good for our outside shooters. We've practiced breaking down the 2-3, and I think this will give us a shot at the game.

They also like to press somewhat frequently and they use a 1-2-1-1 when they do press.

The experts are picking Denver despite our winning streak and despite us being at home.

Game keys:

We have to execute our zones to perfection tonight. They can't be slow in rotating.

Ryan Linton and the rest of our big men need to win the battle on the glass.

Crawford needs to shoot a high percentage.

We come out in a 3-2.

15 minute mark: We are torching their 2-3 with deep 3's by Linton and Crawford, they are going to have to abandon it soon. However, they are breaking dow our zone well too, but not as well. 20-11 we lead!

10 minute mark: Both defenses are settling down. 25-19 we lead.

5 minute mark: Their press generated a few easy baskets. We've had a few steals and fast breaks which have kept us going. 33-30 we lead.

A few steals and fast breaks at the end of the half, gets us going again.

Halftime: 46-34 lead. I really wish I had installed this 3-2 zone sooner.

Ryan Linton is our leading player so far. He has scored 10 points, had 5 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 assists.

15 minute mark: They are going back to the 2-3. Gelbard in particular is torching it with 3 quick 3's. 60-43.

10 minute mark: We continue to drain the 3's. 80-55.

5 minute mark: Even the deep part of our bench is hitting 3's! 96-68.

Our bench gets sloppy down the stretch, but Myron Rogers who I thought was the very end of my bench is showing a very nice ability to stroke the 3.

Game over. 100-81 win at home!

We shot 52.8% from the field. We shot 63.6% from 3 point range (14 of 22 shooting)

They shot 49.3% and 53.3% from 3 pt land (8-15)

We had 15 turnovers. They had 21. We each had 37 rebounds.

Crawford had 19 points, Flowers had 17, Gelbard had 16, and Linton had 12 as he made 4 3 pointers. He's got great range for a PF.

Flowers led the team with 7 assists. He also had 4 turnovers.

Fingelton led the team with 10 boards as he got 23 minutes. I only played Kinzer 18 minutes, because Fingelton was finally having a good game.

Fingelton led the team with 4 steals and 1 block.

Subj: Congrats on the latest recruit and the late season surge.

Coach, I'm very happy with how you have turned this team around the last few days. I'm also pleased that the last recruit to give us a verbal is such a bright kid. With a GPA of 3.6 and SAT's of 1150, I can tell that he is going to be an academic asset as well as an athlete.

I'm glad you are pleased with Chris's signing. Besides being an academic star, I think he has the potential to really help the team. He is a 6'7 SG with superb passing skills. If we can get him to be a better shooter, he could be a great asset to the team. Certainly, he was a nice late pickup after things fell through with Brandon. Now, I just need to make sure he signs the LOI to backup his verbal.

This is one of our last home games. We have a nice streak going, but North Texas is a dangerous team. They are 13-10. As you know, we are now 10-13. They run a 5 out offense that is focused on shooting the 3 ball. I think our 3-2 should play perfectly into neutralizing that.

Their best player is SF Caleb McIntosh. Caleb has length, speed, and a decent outside shot. He is averaging 9.2 ppg, 0.8 apg, 3.7 rpg, 0.6 spg, and 0.7 bpg.

Defensively, they primarily plan M2M and they rarely press.

With our current streak, most experts predict we will win this home game.

Keys:

We must stop both of their guards from hitting the 3 ball.

Attack the basket and get to the FT line.

Force turnovers. If we force more than we give up, we should win.

15 minute mark: We are down 10-8 and they have the ball. Ivan Olson, their SG has hit 2 3's.

10 minute mark: We've cooled off Olson, but they are playing decent defense. Klein is our main scorer. We are up 15-14.

5 minute mark: They are doing a good job of breaking down our zone at times, but we are hanging even. 22-22. Klein and our guards are doing a nice job of scoring.

Halftime: 36-33 lead for us.

We are shooting 41.9% and 16.7% from behind the arc (1 of 6.)

They are shooting 35.5% and 50% (4-8) from behind the arc.

We have equal rebounds and about equal turnovers (We've caused them to have one more.)

Linton picks up his 4th foul 2 minutes into the second half. As a result, I have to play Gelbard sooner at SF than usual. Klein will play his more natural PF though.

Klein immediately responds with a hook shot in the paint and then a block at the other end.

15 minute mark: Their center is starting to shred our 3-2 zone. He has 8 points in the last 5 minutes. However, we are making their guards miss shots. 47-45 lead for us.

With 13:48 left, Klein picks up his 4th foul and I'm suddenly in trouble. I decide to put Linton in and hope that he can last a good long time without fouling out.

10 minute mark: We are down 58-53, but we have two of their big guys in foul trouble as well.

9:23 Linton fouls out, and I decide to tempt fate with Klein.

5 minute mark: Guinn and Gelbard have hit big 3's to close the gap that was forming (they were up by 9 at one point.) We are down 66-63.

With 4:10 left, Klein fouls out. We are down 68-66 and they have the ball.

Crawford steals the ball and goes the length of the court for the jam! 68-68.

Crawford with another steal, but we are stopped at the other end.

With 1:16 and the score tied 68-68, we foul their center. He hits one, and misses the second, but their PF gets the rebound and puts it back. 71-68.

Guinn turns the ball over as he tries to dribble into the lane.

Kinzer steals it and throws it up the court for Flowers to layup. 71-70.

They run it up the court and hit a quick 3. Ivan Olson is killing us from outside. 74-70 with 45 seconds left.

We try to get off a 3, but they block the shot. We foul them.

They miss both FT's.

We miss a 3. Game over.

Game over. 74-70 loss to end the streak

They shot 45.2% from the field. They shot 38.9% from behind the arc (7 of 18.)

We shot 41.3% and 36.4% from behind the arc (4-11.)

We caused 18 turnovers and only made 11 of our own.

We were outrebounded 45-32.

We had 25 Fast Break Points. A very disappointing loss, but at least we were close against one of the top teams in the conference.

They are one of the top teams at 15-8.

They are led by star PG Chris Isenhour who has 10.1 ppg, 5.2 apg, 3.0 rpg, 0.4 spg, and 0.2 bpg. They run a balanced attack out of the 5 out set.

Defensively, they rarely press and primarily play M2M.

We play them again in a few days, so we need to be ready to take this one from them.

Keys:

We must win the turnover battle. Don't turn it over 14 times like we have been averaging.

Shoot at least 40% from the field.

Defend the 3 ball well. Their guards can shoot from behind the arc very well.

15 minute mark: It's up and down early. Both teams running the floor plenty. We are up 16-15. Their SG and SF are hitting 3's despite our 3-2 zone.

10 minute mark: Flowers has already put up 8 points. We are up 23-22 in part to our hot shooting guards.

5 minute mark: Our defense is creating steals and we have only turned the ball over 1 time the whole game. We are up 39-28 thanks in large part to some easy fast break baskets.

Linton picks up his 3rd foul with 2 minutes left.

Halftime: 45-36 we lead.

We've caused 13 turnovers. We've only turned it over 2 times. We have 23 fast break points.

Clint Flowers is our key player so far. He has 8 points, 3 assists, 2 steals, and 2 boards.

15 minute mark: Crawford and Gelbard are lighting it up from behind the arc. 56-42.

10 minute mark: Both teams are running it up the court. 68-56.

5 minute mark: Quite a few fast break baskets for both sides. 80-65.

We buckled down and slowed it down coming down the stretch, but their pressing got them a few easy baskets.

Still, we won it 91-78 (we held them to 65 until 2 minutes were left.)

Game over. 91-78 win.

We shot 52.9% from the field. We shot 58.3% from behind the arc (7-12)

They shot 59.3% from the field and 45% (9-20) from behind the arc.

We forced 22 turnovers. We only allowed 9 turnovers.

We had 35 Fast Break Points to their 17. That was the key difference in the game.

Klein led the team with 17 points on 8 of 14 shooting in 30 minutes.

Crawford has 16 points on 5 of 12 shooting in 29 minutes.

Guinn had 15 points on 7 of 12 shooting in 23 minutes.

Gelbard had 11 points on 3 of 9 shooting in 23 minutes.

Flowers had 10 points on 5 of 8 shooting in 29 minutes.

Flowers led the team with 7 assists and he only had 2 turnovers.

Kinzer led the team with 5 rebounds.

Kinzer led the team with 6 steals.

Linton led the team with 2 blocks.

Klein was the player of the game. He had 17 points, 3 assists, 4 boards, and 1 block.

Today we host them in our 2nd to last regular season game. They are 4-22, but have won their last 2 games.

They run a slow paced offense that is focused on shooting from behind the 3 point arc. Their best player is PF Adam Augustus. He is only averaging 5.4 ppg, 0.7 apg, and 3.7 rpg.

Defensively, they rarely press. They primarily play M2M.

We are favored at home.

Keys:

Ryan Linton must rebound well.

Take good shots, shot selection will be important.

Win the turnover battle like we have in our last few wins.

15 minute mark: Both sides are shooting poorly. We are up 5-4.

10 minute mark: Klein has 9 of our points. 12-8 we are up.

5 minute mark: We are getting sloppy with the ball, but so are they. We each get some fast breaks as a result. 20-17.

Halftime: We made them play our preferred fast pace the last 5 minutes, and it is suiting us. 37-24 lead. Crawford and Klein are filling it up for us.

Crawford is our leading player in the 1st half. He has 12 points on 5 of 9 shooting. He also has 1 board and 1 assist.

17 minute mark: Klein has been great, but he just picked up his 4th foul. Fortunately, Kinzer has been on fire the last 3 minutes, so we shouldn't suffer too much.

15 minute mark: Kinzer has 8 points in the last 5 minutes. 49-33 as we are shooting very well now.

10 minute mark: Both sides are hitting 3's and shooting well. 62-44.

5 minute mark: Our defense has been great the last 5 minutes, our offense is cruising. 75-47.

All of my subs played down the stretch, and they played very good defense and created some turnovers for easy baskets.

Game over. 84-52 win.

We forced 22 turnovers. We only committed 8 turnovers.

We shot 50% from the field and 33% from behind the arc (5 of 15)

They shot 34.5% from the field and 25% from 3 point land (5 of 20.)

We each had 38 boards.

Crawford had 19 points on 7 of 13 shooting in 30 minutes.

Flowers had 15 points on 6 of 13 shooting in 34 minutes.

Klein had 11 points on 4 of 6 shooting in 16 minutes.

Kinzer had 10 points on 4 of 7 shooting in 23 minutes.

Flowers led the team with 7 assists, but he had 5 of our turnovers.

Flowers led the team with 3 steals.

Linton led the team with 3 blocks.

We are now 12-14.

Darn, I don't want to waste a redshirt year on our currently redshirted Johnsen at C, but we are going to be thin up front if we have any post season play.

Today we play them at their place for the 2nd time this year and the 3rd time overall. They are 17-10 while we are 12-14.

See the last scouting report from just a few days ago for the vital information on their team.

They are favored at home despite our last win over them.

15 minute mark: It's tied 5-5 as both defenses are playing well early.

10 minute mark: None of our shots are falling, however, our defense has been good. 11-5 we are down.

5 minute mark: Linton and Gelbard have each hit a big 3, and we are getting some fast break baskets. However, Linton and Klein both have 2 fouls. If they foul out, we are in deep trouble. 20-18 we lead.

They aren't turning it over, but neither are we. However, they are shooting more efficiently. Much more efficiently the last 5 minutes. We also have 3 players with 2 fouls.

Halftime: 36-28 they lead.

Gelbard is our top player with 10 points, 5 boards, and 1 assist. This Freshman SG/SF is going to be great for us I think if he can develop other facets of his game.

15 minute mark: A few fast breaks thanks to steals by Flowers has us tied 46-46.

10 minute mark: A few careless passes gave them some easy baskets, but 3's are keeping us in it. They are up 54-49.

5 minute mark: We are trying to close the gap with no luck. 61-55 they lead.

Two careless turnovers by Guinn and we are now down by 10 with 3:45 left.

Crawford hits a 3, we get a stop, and Crawford drains another shot to make it 67-60.

We get another stop, but Rogers misses the shot at the opposite end.

We get another stop, but time is running low. Crawford runs down the court and hits another jumper. 67-62 with 40 seconds left. We intentionally foul.

They miss both FT's, but Rogers misses the 3.

We intentionally foul and they miss both FT's. However, we miss a 3, and the game is over.

Game over. 67-62 loss. We drop to 12-15 in the regular season, but it was a nice run towards the end of the season.

Our downfall is tht we only shot 37.3% and 22.2% from behind the arc (4-18)

They shot 43.9% and 29.4% from behind the arc (5-17.)

We each had 11 turnovers this game.

Gelbard was our leading scorer with 16 points on 6 of 12 shooting in 25 minutes.

Flowers had 6 assists, but also had 2 turnovers.

Linton led us with 8 boards.

Fingelton led us with 5 steals.

Linton had our only block.

Jerry V: Welcome to the Jerry V show, Coach Bordeaux. Tell me, how are you preparing your team in what is your first Sun Belt Conference Tournament game against a talented Arkansas-Little Rock team?

Terry Bordeaux: Well Jerry, we are preparing the same as usual. I want the guys to play this just like any other game. We are practicing hard, and we've looked good the last week in practice.

Jerry V: Your season really turned around when you installed the 3-2 defense, what made you decide to switch to that?

Terry Bordeaux: From the moment, I took over the team, I knew that we weren't the best Man to Man defenders. I knew I wanted to install a zone. I thought our greatest defensive strength was inside and most teams in the Sun Belt have dangerous outside shooters. Therefore, it was a natural choice to go to a 3-2 to try to contain those outside shooters. I always had faith that Devin, Ryan, Luke, and Myron would play well inside to contain that aspect of it.

Jerry V: Coach, certainly their best player is their PG Tyson Robinson who is averaging over 8.6 ppg and 5.1 apg. How are you going to stop his penetration?

Terry: Well, we just talked about it. Certainly the 3-2 will be key with good execution and coverage for each other. It took us a while, but we are really running the zone well. I'm confident we will run our zones better next year.

Jerry V: Coach, I noticed you said Zones. Are you planning on installing more zones next year?

Terry: Hehe, you caught me. Yeah, I don't think it is any surprise that we will have a few wrinkles to our defense next year. I hope to be able to run at least 2 or 3 zones proficiently and mix them up as the situation calls for.

Jerry V: Coach, do you think Devin Kinzer will be healthy in time for the game on March 4th?

Terry: I certainly hope so. I know that Devin is going to want to give it a shot, and we could use his inside production.

Jerry V: Coach, I know that you are focused on this year, but the fans are really excited about next year's class. Any comment on the incoming group?

Terry: Well, we are focused on winning with the guys we have right now. We are going to lose some good seniors after this year, but I'm confident that we will have some good freshman coming in that will help the team out next year.

Jerry V: Thanks for your time, Coach.

Terry: My pleasure. Any time.
