Official 2015 College Football Week 2 thread

There are a few match-ups between Top 25 teams this week.

Oklahoma at Tennessee
Oregon at Michigan State
LSU at Mississippi State

Is it just a weird coincidence that Oregon plays Michigan St. and Oregon St. plays Michigan this week, or was that planned?

Boise State @ BYU this week. Going to be interesting to see how BYU does, but I will be there watching it.

Iowa travels to play the hated Clowns in Ames.
Ferentz is 7-9 against Iowa St.
Last season, ISU won 2 games. One was Iowa. I think the other was Toledo.

Go Hawks!

I will not, under any circumstances, play on Draft Kings. Ever. Ever. I have a CRTV, It's not out of the realm of possibility that I pick it up and throw it out my fucking window before the day is over.

If Jacksonville State holds on Auburn might drop down all the way to #11.

Auburn is about to lose. They are going to drop big. This Michigan-App State all over again. All I can say is "Wow."

Ok, so maybe Jax State is going to blow this. 17 punt is going to give them a chance.

Jax St really needed to get a first down. Or a punter.

Texas A&M and Auburn are going to learn the hard way that coaches who's success is predicated on a specific kind of offensive success will not have lasting success in a competitive conference if they can't develop the skills to develop a program identity and structure. Both fan bases got hyped by hiring big name defensive coordinators this off season, but it isn't that simple. You have to be invested in a process, and I look at both of those coaches and see all flash and no desire to instill mental toughness and discipline on both sides of the ball.

Not surprised if Auburn is average this year, but losing this early to a good 1AA would be surprising.

Don't like the idea of playing for OT unless you don't have a kicker at all.

And that's why you take any chance you can. Don't kneel away 40 seconds with a timeout when all you need is a field goal.

Watching Penn State I don't get all the love for Hackenberg. No questioning his tools, but he reminds me of Jay Cutler II. Just not someone I would want to lead my team.

Norte Dame looks loaded.
Jacksonville St. chokes

Iowa/Clowns the big game Fox. Don't miss it. Iowa has a great DE. Went against a top 10 pick the last 3 years.

Logan Thomas 2.0. A guy every fan can see shouldn't be taken anywhere near the first round but Kiper, McShay, and other draft guys are the last to catch on.

Yeah that is a tough break (pardon the pun). They have had a bunch of starter injured including the star RB last week out the season with an ACL. They just said their playoff chances are getting on a cart and is so true. They are pretty much done . They are now down to what would be their 3rd and 4th string Qbs.

These announcers "I don't think that was a face masking penalty" despite the ND almost ripping the mask of of the WR?

Think it was incidental contact but hard to see from the replay.

I don't think ND is going to hang on to win this game, much less beat GT next week at this point.

Next score wins is how it feels.

Yeah I agree and the defense is playing terrible. I see them dropping games to GT , @ Clemson , USC and even Navy and Standford with Zaire. 6-6 here we come:-(

Can't settle for FGs. Can't miss FGs. Can't miss 2 pt conversions.

6 - 6 sounds about right. Although not many teams could lose their starting RB in week 1 and QB in week 2 and survive.

UGA QB issues have fans barking pretty hard at the moment,.

Lambert 9/19 for 97
Ramsey 2/4 for 25

Only thing that saved them today is the utter ineptitude of Vandy.
I can't imagine Mason survives to the UT game.

edit to add: Well, that and 190 yards from Chubb

Iowa pulls out a win. We score 14 points in the final 3 minutes to win 31-17. That was a tough one.

Iowa had the number 9 on one side of their helmet in tribute to Iowa native and one of the Hawkeye greats who died unexpectedly this week at the age of 27, Tyler Sash.

And on a side note, Iowa also lost their all time leading scorer in basketball to brain cancer. Roy Marble died at at age 48.

Tough week for Iowa fans.

Last time Tennessee blew a lead this big at Neyland, a guy named Herschel Walker was running for the opponent.

Vols spent over half the night being outmanned & outcoached.

And those of you that wondered why I didn't have Tennessee in my Top 25 ... now you know.

It's a one man show with a fragile defense. The one man didn't do shit in the second half (didn't have a helluva lot of help, true enough) and they blew a 17 point lead.

What a clusterfuck that turned into
